My wife, mother, and I visited Sweet Thyme Kitchen in Abilene for lunch on two separate days, and both experiences were absolutely delightful. The restaurant is housed in a charming old building, beautifully decorated with lovely live plants that add a fresh, inviting feel. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, providing excellent service on both visits. The food was simply fantastic. We tried various sandwiches, and my club sandwich on the second day was especially memorable with its in-house-made bread and croissant. The house salad my wife and I shared was fresh and delicious, and we couldn't resist trying some homemade cookies, which were delightful. Although we didn't try the cinnamon rolls, they looked like the best I've ever seen. The prices were fair, making the experience even better. The atmosphere paired perfectly with the wonderful food, and it's a place I'd love to have nearby in both San Angelo, where my mother lives, and southwest Austin, where I'm from. The sweet and attentive staff, particularly the blonde waitress and Allie, who was as kind as a Disney princess, made us feel right at home. In addition to great food, the blueberry cookies and my perfectly made mocha were highlights. Sweet Thyme Kitchen is a gem, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Abilene. The portions are generous, and the selection of sandwiches and desserts is unique. Definitely don't miss the berry salad and muffins. This place truly is a must-visit.

I've been to several AM Donuts & Croissants locations, and while this one wasn't quite as impressive as the others, it's still worth a visit. The doughnuts are great, even if they don't quite match up to some of the other spots. I've been coming here for years, and it's always been a reliable choice for breakfast. Sure, there have been some changes in staff, and not all interactions have been perfect, but it's not enough to keep me away. On a business trip, I was recommended to try their apple fritters, and they did not disappoint. The fritters were awesome, and the place has a great selection overall. I stopped by again on 5/12/2024, thinking they were open until 2 PM, but they actually close at 1 PM. Despite arriving late, the staff was very professional. The lady at the counter made an error with my order, but the owner saw me at the door and let me back in to fix it. Their kindness and willingness to go the extra mile left a positive impression, and I'll definitely be back again. Apologies for coming in late, and a big thank you to the owner and staff for making it right.

Salty Roan Bakehouse is my go-to spot in Abilene for breakfast or a sweet treat. They always have a great variety of options. I tried the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich, and it was fantastic. I also enjoyed a delicious chocolate chip muffin. Their coffee is good too; I usually get a vanilla hazelnut latte with almond milk. If you live in Abilene and haven't visited yet, you're missing out. I went there for breakfast with my family and spent $36 for two adults and two kids. Everything was perfect—croissants, danish, quiche. I've missed such good bakery items, and I'm happy I found this place. Salty Roan has the best bread and pastries in Abilene. Tired of squishy, chemically-laden bread? This is the real deal. If you're looking for a real baguette with European texture and taste or sourdough with actual flavor, this is your place. Want a melt-in-your-mouth almond croissant? They have it. After living overseas and in big cities, I'm thrilled these amazing folks opened up here in town. I've been coming here a few times a month for small business meetings, quick lunches, breakfast and coffee dates, or just to pick up some loaves of bread to take home. The staff is wonderful and always friendly, and the bakers seem to love experimenting and providing new culinary pastry experiences each visit. We're lucky to have them here! They even did an excellent job with our daughter’s smash cake for her "Fairy First Birthday" photo shoot. The cake not only met our expectations, but it was absolutely delicious, and our little girl loved it!

Front Porch Coffee Co. & Bakery is a wonderful spot for breakfast in Abilene. We stopped by for a quick bite before leaving town and were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere inside is cool, with great decor, a big fireplace, and a comfy couch—lots of seating options. The service was quick and friendly, adding to the welcoming vibe. I ordered a lavender latte and a horchata latte, and both were delicious. We also shared a Cinnabon roll, which was ooey-gooey and delightful, and the acai bowl was equally impressive. There were so many fun choices on the menu, making it hard to pick just one thing. I highly recommend checking this place out for its tasty drinks and food. The space is perfect for both individual relaxation and group gatherings, with multiple rooms to sit in and plenty of space. It's a great coffee experience, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a great start to their day in Abilene.

The place was clean, with tables cleared and sanitized rapidly. Everyone was kind and helpful, which is a testament to the high standards of Chick-fil-A. What stood out was the courtesy table in the women's restroom, stocked with diapers and wipes—such a thoughtful touch. The staff's attentiveness and care were exceptional, and I truly appreciate their dedication. During my visit at around 11:30 on 7/17, the grilled chicken club with pepper Jack cheese was delicious, and the fries were hot, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. They paired fantastically with the sriracha sauce. Overall, this is the best Chick-fil-A location I've been to, and I love it. Thank you to all the young men and women making it a great experience. The food is amazing and the owner is both friendly and generous. I've had their burritos before, so I decided to try the flautas plate this time, and I'll definitely get them again. The food is great and the people are nice! They have real tortillas, unlike other places. The lady who I believe was the owner is absolutely sweet, funny, and welcoming. Holy Moly!!! This place is awesome!!! Even with a line out the door and the drive-through packed, the service was super quick. The prices are great, and the flavor of the food is incredible. The Chorizo Breakfast Burrito with potatoes, beans, and cheese is a must-order, and their Agua Fresca is fresh and delicious, with tons of flavors to choose from. This little gem is definitely a 10/10. It's not a fancy spot, but the food is freaking amazing. The Carne Asada burrito is the best I've had in Abilene. It's always busy here because the food is so darn good. We've lived here for a month and have already been here at least 8 times. The tortillas alone are out of this world, never mind what they fill them with! You will not be sorry. I've tried breakfast and lunch burritos, and everything is amazing. The food always tastes fantastic, though it might be a little overpriced for the size of the burrito.

The chips and guacamole are some of the best I've had, and the brisket tacos were delicious. I had a great time during my visit. I stopped by for lunch and then returned for a drink the next night while in town for business. The food during lunch was terrific, and Bethany, the bartender, did an amazing job. I have to say I visit this location quite often. The food is consistently good, and the bartenders and managers are a big reason I keep coming back. Ashley, Bethany, Savannah, and Rosie are fantastic—they keep you entertained and ensure you’re well-supplied with drinks and food. During my lunch visit today, the experience was excellent. The drive-thru service is impressively quick, and the staff always greet you with a smile. The food never disappoints, and I especially love their taco salad; it's both tasty and healthy. The portion sizes are just right, too. One standout experience I had was with Sophia, who truly understands excellent customer service. When I had issues with my order, she went above and beyond to make things right. Employees like her deserve recognition and a raise! Whenever I dine in or use the drive-thru, the service is consistently top-notch. I've never had a problem with my order, and the salsa bar is always spotless. Even during busy times, the team does a great job keeping the tables clean. Yes, the prices are on the higher side, and they do serve alcohol with ID required. The atmosphere inside is pleasant, and if it's ever disrupted, it's usually due to other customers, not the staff. Overall, Rosa’s in Abilene delivers a reliable and satisfying breakfast experience every time.

I ordered a chicken burrito for breakfast from Fuzzy’s Taco Shop in Abilene and requested no rice, no black beans, and no avocado. Initially, there was a mix-up with my order, but they quickly made a new one for me. Although the burrito then had only chicken and queso, I appreciated their effort to fix the mistake. I also got beef nachos, which were a bit too salty for my taste. Despite a few issues, I want to highlight a positive experience with their customer service. On a separate occasion, I ordered a salad through Uber Eats, and they forgot the dressing. I called them, and not even 10 minutes later, George from Fuzzy’s was at my hotel room door with two containers of dressing and coupons for free meals. His quick response and dedication to making things right genuinely impressed me. It's rare to encounter such attentive service these days, and I'm grateful for it. I've had mixed experiences at Rosa's Café & Tortilla Factory in Abilene, but I must commend their District Manager for his excellent customer service. Initially, my visits were less than satisfactory, with issues regarding food quality and staff demeanor. However, after sharing my feedback online, the District Manager promptly reached out within 12 hours. He not only apologized but assured me that the necessary steps would be taken to coach the staff involved. He even took the extra step of reviewing footage to ensure he addressed the right issues. Despite the initial setbacks, the manager's quick response and the offer of a gift card for a future visit have given me hope for a better experience next time. The restaurant itself has a charming decor and reasonably priced menu. It's a mix of fast food ordering with sit-down dining, and they easily accommodated our larger party of 12. While the food didn't initially wow me—perhaps because I live in Southern Arizona where authentic Mexican food is abundant—the cheese enchiladas and beef fajitas were enjoyable, with large, hot plates served to us. Thanks to the District Manager's efforts, I'm looking forward to giving Rosa's another try.

To top it all off, I was treated to a Dr. Pepper chocolate cake with ice cream for my birthday—everything was absolutely delicious! Our server, Christopher C, was sweet and incredibly helpful, ensuring we had a wonderful time. The location is convenient, with plenty of room for customers, and it's easy to access from the highway with lots of nearby lodging options. My wife and I both enjoyed our chicken fried steak, which was excellent. On another visit, we had lunch, and once again, the food and service were outstanding. I had the turkey club sandwich, possibly the best I've ever tasted, while my wife relished her salmon. The iced tea is definitely Texas-worthy, and our server, Zay, was both helpful and personable. I went to The Biscuit Bar in Abilene for breakfast with friends today, and it was a great experience overall. When we walked in, it was a bit warm inside, and the AC could definitely use a boost. Despite that, the service was friendly and welcoming. The metal chairs are a bit hard to sit on, and some cushions would be nice, but the vibe of the place is still inviting. Now, let's talk about the food—absolutely amazing! I'm not usually a big biscuit fan, but these were exceptional. I had the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit, and my friend tried the steak and egg, which was tender and flavorful. The sweet potato tots were freshly cooked and delicious, especially with their house-made ranch dressing, although the pairing wasn't my favorite. I can't wait to try them with the loaded tot option next time. While my friend's daughter found the chicken nuggets a bit bland, I understand this isn't their main dish. Overall, I was really impressed with the biscuit buns and their crispy, light texture. I'll definitely be back to try more, like the French toast biscuits. I hadn't been to El Chico Cafe in forever, but coming back was one of my best decisions. The food is consistently fresh, and the service is top-notch. One of my favorite things about El Chico is the free queso. I don’t know any other place in town that offers that, and it's a real treat. I also appreciate the salsa; it has the perfect balance of flavor without being too spicy. The rice isn't my favorite, as it reminds me more of pilaf than traditional Mexican rice, so I usually skip it. But I had the apple pie for the first time recently, and I highly recommend it! Jesse, our server, has been fantastic during my last two visits. He made each experience enjoyable, even when there were minor food issues. Thanks, Jesse! As for the rest of the food, the shrimp tacos are my go-to, but whenever I try something different, I’m never disappointed. El Chico Cafe continues to be a reliable spot for a great meal, and I’m glad I returned.

When we stopped at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Abilene for breakfast, we were seated quickly in a spot that comfortably fit our group. Our server, Gentry, was amazing. She was attentive and clearly enjoyed being there, which made our experience even better. Even though I opted for the home style chicken with mashed potatoes and rice instead of breakfast, it was exactly what I needed. Others in my group chose breakfast items and said they were spot on too. The classic fried chicken I had was cooked perfectly, bringing that authentic old-style American taste I love. One thing to note is that the server seemed to be managing a lot on her own, so our drinks and biscuits took a bit longer to arrive. But her friendly demeanor more than made up for it. I appreciate the warm, welcoming atmosphere from all the staff, which makes you feel right at home. While the portions on a previous visit were smaller than expected, the flavor of the food was consistently delicious. The place was clean and had a great vibe. I did find a shell in my scrambled eggs, but the staff was quick to fix it, showing their eagerness to ensure a good dining experience. All in all, Cracker Barrel is a great spot to consider when passing through. With a few improvements in service timing, it would be even better. I’d definitely go back, maybe ask for over easy eggs next time!
