Evelyn's Coffee & Banh Mi
11 E Exchange St #101, Akron

Valerya Delgado
Evelyn's Coffee & Banh Mi in downtown Akron is a gem. Tucked away in the basement of an old office building, it offers a cool atmosphere with plenty of seating. The service is solid, and the place feels unpretentious. For lunch, I tried the beef bibimbap. It was fresh, though a bit sweet, and I wished the rice had been crispier. Their Vietnamese coffee is unique and delicious; it's best enjoyed slowly, letting the ice melt to balance the strength and sweetness. My friend ordered the pistachio honey latte, which turned out to be the best pistachio latte I've ever tasted. The Korean Beef Banh Mi was outstanding—probably the best I've ever had. I also tried a caramel macchiato, and it did not disappoint. Everything is reasonably priced, and my wife insists we come back each time we're in town. Evelyn's is a must-try when you're in Akron!
Akron Coffee Roasters

Let's talk about Akron Coffee Roasters—it's a coffee lover's dream. This place isn't just about serving coffee; it's about showcasing passion and craft in every cup. They roast each batch on-site, making sure the coffee is fresh and full of flavor. The baristas here are true artists, crafting drinks that make you appreciate the skill involved. Whether you're sipping on a strong espresso or a smooth latte, you can tell this place is all about quality. For those who enjoy exploring different flavors, the single-origin coffees are a must-try. They bring unique tastes from various corners of the world right to your cup. If you're in Akron and want a coffee experience that stands out, Akron Coffee Roasters is where you need to be. You'll go for the coffee and stay for the warm atmosphere. Just a heads up, once you try their coffee, you might not be able to go back to your usual brew. The Ice Maple Cortado I had was fantastic—smooth, strong, and perfectly sweet. The shop is clean with fast, good service. I enjoyed a pour-over coffee and a scone, both of which were excellent. I even managed to work there for a bit; the Wi-Fi was fast, and I got everything done. Just keep in mind that seating is limited and parking is only on the street. It wasn't busy when I went, but I can see it getting crowded during a rush. The staff is friendly, and the shop smells amazing. If you're nearby, definitely give them a try. It’s a consistently welcoming place, and I've always been satisfied with their coffee and baked goods. If you found this review helpful, please give a 👍.
647 Coffee
647 E Market St, Akron

Laura Castro
647 Coffee in Akron is a gem of a place. The coffee is excellent, and there's plenty of seating available, which is fantastic for catching up on work or having a deep conversation. One heads up: their grill and toaster close a couple of hours before the shop does, something to remember if you’re planning on grabbing a sandwich. The latte flight was a fun treat, featuring four different flavored lattes in small cups—a unique experience. What truly stands out is how much good this coffee shop does for the community. They provide space for the homeless to rest, which is an incredible initiative. The breakfast sandwich was fantastic, and I have to mention how friendly the service is. It's also connected to a church, adding to its sense of community. With plenty of parking in the back and a mellow music vibe, it’s a great spot for focusing or relaxing. The spaciousness might not give it that cozy café feel, but it more than makes up for it with its welcoming atmosphere and excellent facilities, including a stage that hints at live music events. If you're looking for a coffee fix without the noise of a bustling café, this is definitely the spot to visit.
Front Porch Cafe

Front Porch Cafe is a gem for breakfast in Akron. The coffee is great, and the neighborhood vibe is perfect for anyone looking to step out of the office for a bit. The staff is friendly, making it a welcoming spot whether you're working or just enjoying some downtime. The cafe has a European feel, which I love, though it can be a bit pricey and seating is limited. Their pastries are excellent, and it's cool that they sell the coffee equipment used in-house. What truly stands out is their commitment to the community. They're not just serving breakfast; they're spreading love and support across Akron's south side. They offer affordable hot meals and are always ready to lend a helping hand. Their philanthropic efforts and support meetings create a safe space for anyone in need. Being here for the United Way day of action, I saw firsthand how much they contribute. The wraps served for lunch were delicious, adding to the overall great experience. This place genuinely cares and makes a positive impact.
Fred's Diner

Pavell Smallwood
Fred's Diner is an absolute gem for breakfast in Akron! From the moment you step into this cute place, you're greeted by pleasant waitstaff who work like a well-oiled machine. Even though the team is young and new, they deliver a fantastic experience. I've been visiting Fred's since the late 90's, and it remains a beloved spot. During my recent trip back to Akron, I was delighted to find that the quality of food is still top-notch. Our breakfast was just as delicious as I remembered, with hearty portions that leave you satisfied. Though we didn't see the staff much after they dropped off our food with the bill, it was understandable given how busy they were. The extensive menu offers classic diner food, and I highly recommend trying the tuna melt with sourdough and cheddar, as well as the amazing shrimp chowder. Even though we moved out of state, Fred's is always on my mind, and I'm grateful for the chance to visit again. The diner is managed efficiently by Fred and his daughter, ensuring a spotless and enjoyable dining experience. Hands down, Fred's Diner is the best and remains my go-to spot whenever I'm in town. Thank you for the memories and great food!
Eat N Run

Pedro Minh
Eat N Run is an absolute gem for breakfast in Akron. I had the country fried steak with sausage gravy, and it was simply delicious. This cozy little diner is cash-only, but it's worth every penny. The service was incredibly fast, which was perfect since I was in a bit of a rush. The classic diner food is made just right, with huge portions at decent prices. I inhaled my plate in no time, thanks to the well-made gravy and super fluffy potatoes. The biscuits and gravy come highly recommended as well. It's hands-down one of the best diner experiences I've ever had. If you're looking for a quick and satisfying breakfast, this is the place to go!
The Blue Door Café & Bakery
1970 State Rd, Cuyahoga Falls

Rijesh Dotson
We had a lovely dinner at The Blue Door Café & Bakery, and everything was incredible. I didn't know what to expect since their brunch is more popular, but I was pleasantly surprised. The bread with brie and honey butter was warm and fluffy, with butter that was creamy and not too sweet. The butternut squash arancini was the essence of fall flavors and delicious. The black sea bass with celery sauce was light and fresh, just perfect. For entrees, we went with the smash burger, farro risotto with duck and apricot, and lamb with polenta. My favorite was the duck; tender, full of flavor, and the apricot added a surprising sweet note that complemented the savory duck perfectly. For dessert, we tried the earl gray sponge cake and bread pudding. The sponge cake was a bit sweet for me, but the bread pudding was a comforting delight, reminiscent of homemade treats. I also had breakfast here on a Sunday morning. There was a bit of a wait, but getting on the list and finding out when our table was ready was easy. Our server, Kyle, was friendly and knowledgeable, making great menu suggestions. The breakfast menu was diverse, a refreshing change from the usual. Despite the busy crowd, everyone enjoyed their meals. The chicken and waffles stood out; the maple compound added flavor without soaking the waffles. I do wish they had diet soda, but that won't stop me from returning. My husband and I were visiting from Columbus, Indiana, for a wedding, and the food was truly delicious! I had the smoked organic king salmon and eggs, which was a flavor explosion in every bite, leaving me wanting more. My husband loved his Reuben sandwich. Thank you for the great service and delicious food! 😊
Woodys
3829 S Main St, Akron
(330) 644-1051
Kurt Diaz
Woodys in Akron has become a staple for me and my mom, especially on our weekly trips to visit my brother. It’s a classic local café that serves up delicious meals at great prices. I was blown away by the sausage and biscuits breakfast. They use hot Italian sausage, which adds a perfect kick. Adding hash browns made it a huge, satisfying meal for around $12. The coffee refills kept coming, thanks to the excellent service. They really make you feel at home here. I’ve tried a few other dishes too, like the hash brown omelette and steak and eggs, and they were both spot-on. The home fries are downright delicious. While I didn’t love the sausage gravy and biscuits—it was a bit too salty and greasy for my liking—you sure get a lot of it for just $5. On our first visit, we went for lunch and had the antipasto salad. It was not only tasty but also super filling. Everything we saw being served looked fantastic. It’s no wonder I’ve been coming here for 20 years without ever having a bad order. The staff is top-notch—friendly and efficient. Many places could learn a thing or two from them about keeping customers happy. If you’re looking for a hearty, home-style meal that won’t break the bank, Woodys is the place to be.
Honeymoon Grille

Saturday brunch with the family at Honeymoon Grille was a delightful experience. The food was really good, even though the French toast wasn't the best I've tried. Everything else was delicious, and the servers were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was inviting, and the restaurant was clean. Our food came out hot and tasted great. The menu offers a wide variety of options, including a decent selection of vegetarian items. Although the pricing is a bit on the higher side, it's worth it for the quality and service you receive. On a Sunday morning visit with my niece, we arrived a little before noon and experienced a 25-minute wait. It was well worth it, as we were seated at a cozy table by a window. My niece's honeymoon burger was generous enough for two meals, and my omelet and home fries easily stretched to three portions, all for just $37. My omelet was packed with sausage, and the service was excellent. Even though this isn't my first time at Honeymoon Grille, each visit makes it clear why it's a great local spot. Do yourself a favor and try it out. You won't be disappointed!
Wally Waffle

Pedro Todd
Breakfast at Wally Waffle in Akron was a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with kindness and seated right away. The prices are reasonable, and the food is outstanding. The Chicken and Waffles are a must-try; the chicken was cooked perfectly, complementing the waffle beautifully. We also tried the pumpkin waffle, which was delightful and something I'd definitely order again. The atmosphere of the restaurant is welcoming and the place is clean and smells nice. Even though it was busy, we never felt rushed and had time to enjoy our meal. The service was quick and friendly, with every staff member being pleasant and accommodating. It was my first time at a Wally Waffle, and I have no complaints. Parking was convenient, and overall, my experience was top-notch. I'll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a quality breakfast spot. If you find this review helpful, don't forget to give a thumbs up!

I visited Wally Waffle for breakfast in Akron and was really impressed. The menu offers a variety of options, including healthier choices, which is great for anyone with specific dietary preferences. I went with my team to celebrate completing a project, and it turned out to be the perfect spot. Despite having a large group, they accommodated us quickly and efficiently. The staff was outstanding—our drinks were never empty, and they frequently checked in to make sure everything was okay. I opted for the "What in the Waffle?" dish, which was a Belgian waffle with bacon, topped with sausage gravy, and served with sunny side up eggs. It was delicious, and I also tried the Wally fries, which were great, though I was too full to finish them. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meals, ranging from omelets to various waffle combos. The service was top-notch, and the parking was hassle-free with plenty of space available. On another visit with my mom, we came in at a busy time but found the 15-25 minute wait worthwhile. Our server, Andrea, was fantastic and made sure everything was perfect. Also, traveling from Lexington, KY, we tried a range of dishes from pancakes to burgers, and tenders—everything was fresh and flavorful. I definitely recommend Wally Waffle for anyone looking for a great breakfast experience, and I'm eager to return and try more from their menu. 🧇
Julian's

Daisy Mccaw
Julian's is a fantastic mom and pop spot for breakfast in Akron. My wife, two grandkids, and I stopped in today for the first time, and we were all thoroughly impressed. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. I've heard great things about this place, and they were all true. The biscuits and gravy were hands down the best I've ever had, so good that I don't even want to know the secret behind them. Our waitress made sure we were taken care of, and the prices were fair for the generous portions we received. The sausage patty, home fries with onions, and eggs were all delicious, and I must mention the waffle, which was sweet and flaky, paired perfectly with bacon cooked just right. We all left feeling full and satisfied. Julian's has such a cozy, country vibe that makes it even more enjoyable. Plus, the 2-hour street parking out front is a nice convenience. I wholeheartedly recommend Julian’s for a hearty and delicious breakfast experience. We’ll definitely be coming back! 10/10 recommend!
First Watch

Melody Lozez
The food at First Watch is fantastic. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a special I didn’t like. Here at West Market, I had an especially enjoyable time. My usual is the Baja turkey burger with greens. I order the dressing on the side, pour it on, and it makes the best chopped greens you’ve ever tasted! The over compacted center seating area is a bit of a downside, but that's just a small mark against an otherwise great experience. It was a Thursday morning breakfast with my daughter, and we hadn’t been here in over 3 years. The breakfast options are delicious, and the prices are affordable. You just need a little patience because it's busy almost every hour, but the wait was worth it. Their fresh juices and coffee drinks are really good. We sat outside and didn't wait long for our food. Our server was pleasant and efficient. I had the Loaded Omelet, which was delicious! My order of Millionaire Bacon was so good, too! The other two people with me had Traditional Breakfasts, and all our meals were very good! Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. We definitely will go back for more!

First time at First Watch for breakfast in Akron, and I was pleasantly surprised. Initially, I thought it was just a healthy food spot, but it offers a lot more than that. I tried the steak and egg breakfast bowl, and it was delightful. My son had a pancake, and he gave it a thumbs up. We'll definitely be going back. The waitress was incredibly nice and helpful, and it felt good to see my tip was appreciated. The menu is packed with interesting dishes, making it hard to choose just one. I also enjoyed their excellent coffee. The food was delicious, and the service was wonderful. I highly recommend First Watch! It's consistently yummy, and I know I can count on them for a quality brunch. Although it seems to be getting pricier and the wait times are longer, it's worth it. During my visit, I had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes topped with strawberries, roasted potatoes, and a side of bacon. The flavors were so good, it was a sensory overload of tasty goodness! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is top-notch. It's well worth the trip, and whenever I'm back in the area, I'll definitely visit again!
The Breakfast Box

Mahboob Roberts
We loved our experience at The Breakfast Box! The food was absolutely incredible and just right for a Sunday morning. While there were only two staff members, and service wasn't the fastest, they made up for it with their friendliness and attentiveness. The Round Daddy is a must-try! We enjoyed relaxing on the patio in comfortable chairs while waiting for our order. The shrimp and grits were my favorite; I devoured them quickly. Just a tip: it would be great if the tails were removed for easier eating—thanks for the napkins, though! As soon as I got to the window, the food smelled amazing. I had breakfast tacos, which were delicious. My friend ordered the scrambler and loved the generous portions. We stopped here while visiting the area, and I’m so glad we did! I had a breakfast scramble with turkey sausage, and it was all delicious, but the hash browns were especially mind-blowing. If you’re in the area, definitely check this place out!
Molly Brown's Country Cafe

I can't say enough good things about Molly Brown's Country Cafe! This place is a gem for breakfast, and it's run like a well-oiled machine. My first visit was during a family trip to Akron, with my grandson playing football and a good brother in the hospital nearby. The location is super convenient if you're near Summa Health, and the experience is worth a million bucks. The service is great, and the food is outstanding. They offer breakfast and lunch, and everything tastes fantastic. I was amazed at how quickly my food was ready for pick-up—just 10 minutes as promised—and the portions were huge! Definitely worth the $21 spent. The Country Spuds breakfast is a must-try, and I give them a solid 5 stars across the board, which I don't usually do. I've been visiting Molly Brown's with my family for years, and it has never disappointed us. The food comes in generous portions and is always delicious. The staff are friendly, and the owners are some of the nicest people you could meet. Even after COVID, they maintain their large portion sizes at fair prices, unlike many other places. If you're looking for something fast and fantastic for breakfast, head to Molly Brown’s on Canton Rd. You'll love it just as much as I do!
Farmer Boy Restaurant

We're absolutely thrilled with our breakfast experience at Farmer Boy Restaurant in Akron! Upon arrival, we were starving, and this spot quickly became a favorite with its fantastic food, generous portions, and incredibly friendly staff. A special shout-out to Lil Ashley for her exceptional hospitality—she truly is an asset to the team! I ordered the hillbilly breakfast, and it was a delight. Unlike IHOP or Denny’s, Farmer Boy serves a large portion of bacon, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The pancakes were delicious, especially with the added strawberry topping for just $1.50. My only suggestion would be to add a touch more butter to the pancakes. The eggs and hash browns were equally satisfying, and the meal also came with toast. At $10.99, the price is very reasonable. The service was prompt, and our food arrived hot and fresh. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of throughout our visit. There was no wait for a table, and the atmosphere offered just the right amount of privacy in the booths. I also tried the patty melt, and it was undoubtedly the best I’ve had in a long time. My dining partner opted for a chef salad, which looked fresh and they confirmed it was very tasty. A sign on the door mentioned that they will soon be open for second shift to serve dinners, with dinner specials for $9.99. We'll definitely be back to check that out as well. Overall, Farmer Boy Restaurant is a great place to eat. It's welcoming and LGBTQAI+ friendly, making it a must-visit for anyone in the area. Don't miss out on a chance to see Lil Ashley and her team—they're wonderful!

For the price, the food at Farmer Boy Restaurant in Akron is really great. While it's not fancy, it offers incredible value. The daily specials are especially good, and I would definitely suggest trying one. We were seated quickly, and our waitress was attentive, making sure our drinks were always refilled. Our meals came out fresh and hot, which was a big plus. I did notice an issue at a nearby table where a customer complained about something hard in his food, but it seemed like the staff handled it promptly and professionally. My only gripe was the unexpected charge for using my debit card, which wasn't mentioned beforehand by the cashier. Overall, it's a classic diner experience. I stopped in for a quick breakfast and was able to sit at the bar, getting my food within 15 minutes. It was good, fresh, and hot, making it worth a visit if you're in the area looking for something other than fast food. This was my first time at Farmer Boy, and it completely embodies the charm of a mom-and-pop restaurant. The place has a nostalgic feel, reminding me of family outings and road trip dinners. The prices are great, and the serving sizes just right. Our server was a long-time employee, very professional and courteous. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak with onion rings, and both were very good. Even though I don't visit this area often, this restaurant will definitely be high on my list when I return.
Einstein Bros. Bagels
1751 W Exchange St, Akron

My first visit to Einstein Bros. Bagels in Akron was a great experience, and I'm glad I decided to pick up bagels for work. I chose two Baker’s Dozens, and they were a massive hit; every single one was gone by the end of the day. My second visit was even better. I decided to try two of their signature breakfast sandwiches, and both were really good. The fact that this location is close to my house is a bonus, and I'll definitely be coming back. What impressed me the most was the friendly service. Yes, the bagels were delicious, but excellent customer service is what really stands out for me. Even though the place was busy, I was greeted immediately upon entering, which is becoming rare these days. One employee, who was busy at the moment, asked another friendly team member to take my order, and they both provided exceptional customer service. I visited on a Saturday morning, and this level of detail and effort from the staff deserves recognition. As for the bagels, they were warm and had the perfect chewy texture I love, with plain cream cheese making it all the better. They were simply yummy! Although I came in for an Uber order on another occasion, the staff was consistently friendly from the moment I walked in until I left. Although I didn't get to try the food on that visit, I could see that the staff worked well together and efficiently, which speaks volumes. I highly recommend this location for anyone nearby. Despite a past issue with an order on Mother's Day where I didn't receive all the items, the in-store experience has consistently been positive, and I'll definitely be back for more of those delicious bagels and exceptional service.
