I've been to Planet Donuts Coffee and Breakfast in Baton Rouge twice now, and it's fantastic! I highly recommend it. On weekends, they offer specialty donuts that my kids love, and they taste amazing too. We asked if they had glazed donuts, and they brought out the freshest, hottest glazed donuts I've ever had. They were light and airy—just perfect. Every donut we've tried has been delicious, and the service is excellent. Although I haven't tried them yet, they also have a wide selection of breakfast sandwiches and kolaches that look really appetizing. Walking into the store, I'm always welcomed by the enticing aroma of freshly baked donuts. The display case is filled with tempting options, making it hard to choose just one. From classic glazed to chocolate frosted, they have something for every donut lover. I often end up grabbing a few because I'm eager to try different flavors. They're consistently soft, fluffy, and perfectly sweet. Being in the donut store is a wonderful experience. The staff is welcoming and friendly, always ready to help me with my choices, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Plus, they offer a variety of drinks that pair perfectly with the donuts, whether it's a hot cup of coffee or a cold glass of milk. This place is my go-to for a quick treat or a special indulgence. My recent visit was perfect—after two other donut places weren't open at 8:30 am, Planet Donuts was a welcoming sight. The exterior is inviting, and inside, the decorations are charming. I was amazed at how much I got for just $20. The lady at the counter was so sweet, heating up a biscuit just right for my mawmaw. They also have my favorite chocolate milk, Borden. With a clean space and friendly staff, it's a joy to visit. They offer a variety of donuts, including maple and bacon maple, and giant kolaches and pigs in blankets. We tried a lemon-filled donut, a raspberry-filled donut, a cinnamon bun, and a boudin kolache. The boudin was our favorite! Keith Lee was right again! We visited Fork N Spoon for breakfast in Baton Rouge, and it did not disappoint. I tried the cheese grits with two eggs and beef on top, while my sister had a hash brown bowl with an egg, and my niece enjoyed the steak sandwich with fruit and a cold brew coffee that was out of this world. The two sisters running the place are doing an amazing job with both the food and service, and the prices are incredibly affordable. I ordered the loaded breakfast burrito with ham and a small OJ, and let me tell you—the burrito was the best I’ve ever had. The orange juice tasted like it was made from the freshest, highest quality oranges. The customer service was fantastic, from my phone call to picking up the order. It’s clear they genuinely care about their customers. Although the place is small and can get crowded quickly, it’s worth the visit. If you're in Baton Rouge, you must stop by at least once. I also got the egg grits bowl with bacon, and they were the best grits I've ever eaten. My boyfriend loved his steak bowl with hash browns too, with tender and well-seasoned steak. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. We will definitely be back!

It's hard to be disappointed here. The staff were friendly and welcoming, even when I arrived at 11pm, just an hour before closing, and I never felt rushed. The beignets were as good as I'd hoped. The coffee was decent; I enjoyed the Vanilla Hazelnut flavor, though a few more options would be great. The atmosphere was perfect—not too cold and quite lively. The cocoa was fantastic! One thing I really appreciate is the late hours. Coming from Germany, where cafés typically close earlier, it's nice to find a spot where I can relax in the evening with my boyfriend. We can eat, drink, chat, and unwind until midnight, which makes for some of my favorite nights. I hadn't had beignets in over 10 years, since visiting Cafe du Monde in New Orleans, so this was a real treat. I also like that this coffee shop serves breakfast and even has prepared frozen soup. The hot chocolate was amazing! Fresh beignets were perfect, though they did get a bit hard the next day. Still, the experience was wonderful overall.

The restaurant is small but offers a big, welcoming presence, reminiscent of an old-school country diner where everyone knows each other. Our visit with our granddaughter was delightful, and she loved the fruit bowl and French toast. The portion sizes were generous, and we left with leftovers. My husband's pancakes were enormous and tasty, and my breakfast of eggs, grits, sausage, and biscuits was more than satisfying. The French toast was a standout, while the grits needed a bit of seasoning, easily remedied with the salt and pepper on the table. We couldn't resist returning the next day to try more. The story of this 30+ year old restaurant was really captivating, and it added a unique touch to my visit. For now, they are only open for breakfast and lunch, as their evening seatings under the name 'Beloved' are on hold. I noticed a pot roast on the daily specials menu that someone at a nearby table was enjoying, and I'm planning to try that next time. My daughter ordered the French toast with a side of bacon, while I went for the two over easy eggs, a side of bacon, and one buttermilk pancake. We both enjoyed a hot cup of chocolate with beignets, and I savored the Big Easy Mimosa. We'll definitely be back! On another visit, we tried the fried green tomatoes, beignets, and candied bacon. We also ordered the white chocolate bread pudding pancakes and the biscuits and gravy with an egg and bacon. Everything was spot on. The pancake was sweet and crunchy, and the biscuits and gravy were incredibly savory. Our server was excellent, and the coffee kept us energized to finish all the food! 10/10 would recommend. My husband had some leftovers and now he’s eager to drive 4 hours just to enjoy it fresh. Our family loves exploring new breakfast spots, and even though this one required a bit of a drive, it was totally worth it. The white chocolate bread pudding pancakes were delectable, bursting with flavor, and perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth. I can't wait to go back and try the bananas foster pancakes! Ruby Slipper is one of the best breakfast places in Baton Rouge. Even when busy, the service was top-notch, and the food was hot and perfectly cooked. Seriously, just go! When we visited, we didn't know what to expect, but we left delighted and full. Those Mexican Supreme Hashbrowns are massive and delicious—even if the name is a little misleading since they just have jalapeños. My wife and I ended up taking half of it home. The Shrimp and Grits? Unbelievably good—one of the best I've had! My wife got the Hamburger Steak, and while I initially questioned her choice given all the tempting options, it turned out to be fantastic. We're definitely going back with friends next time. Frank’s is truly a culinary gem. Every dish is prepared with care, bursting with flavor and freshness, and creating a memorable dining experience. The staff is warm and hospitable, making you feel like family with their genuine smiles and welcoming demeanor. The quaint country setting adds to the charm, making it the perfect place to enjoy delicious meals with loved ones. We visited during parent and family weekend, and despite a 25-minute wait, it was totally worth it. We sat on the patio, and our waitress, Maddie, was quick to take care of us. Impressively, our food was out in less than 10 minutes despite the busy morning. The food was flavorful and satisfying, making it hard to put the fork down. I especially enjoyed the seafood po' boy with alfalfa sprouts, tomato, diced squash, zucchini, herb butter, mushrooms, and Swiss cheese. It might sound like a strange mix, but it was delicious. The staff were wonderful—Sky was our server and she was attentive and lovely. Louie's has great menu options at reasonable prices. They were truly delicious. Despite having experienced some long waits for breakfast before, and a few items not being quite right, I keep coming back because the quality of the food makes it worth it. Having helped manage Frankie’s Dawg House back in the day, I was a regular at Magpie Cafe for their cold brew. After 8 years, I visited again, and Magpie is just as amazing as ever! The staff is consistently attentive and engaged, which makes the experience even better. The baked goods are top-notch, and the tomato + herb goat cheese frittata was simply outstanding. The blueberry almond stitch was a delightful treat as well. A friend and I enjoyed a drip coffee and a latte, and she loved her vegan breakfast sandwich. It's a perfect spot with plenty of seating for LSU students to hit the books, both indoors and outdoors. If you’re looking for delicious vegan options, they've got them, though be sure to go early for the vegan pastries since they tend to sell out, especially on busy weekends like when there’s a Taylor Swift concert.
