I had the most amazing breakfast at Auntie's Chicken and Waffles in Bridgeport. The chicken and waffles were simply the best I've ever tasted. Each bite was a perfect blend of crispy, tender chicken and fluffy, golden waffles. I could honestly eat this all day, every day. The flavors were spot-on, and the portion sizes were generous, leaving me fully satisfied. The atmosphere was welcoming, making it a great spot to start the day. The Tasty Yolk (Food Truck)

This breakfast was AMAZING! For years, I'd driven by this food truck without stopping, but I won't make that mistake again. It's the best breakfast—healthy, quick, and I didn't have to cook it! As I was passing through Bridgeport on a road trip with my pet, I decided to give it a try thanks to all the great reviews. It was perfect because I couldn't dine inside a restaurant with my pet. I hopped out of the car, placed my order, and within five minutes, I was enjoying a warm, delicious meal in the comfort of my car. The sandwiches were incredibly tasty, the prices were affordable, and the service was fast. What more could I ask for? I ordered a bacon, egg & cheese and a Tasty, and while there was a slight mix-up with the order timing, the staff was considerate and offered me a drink, which I appreciated. If you're ever near this area, the smashed potato is a must-try! I had the toma, and it was delicious. The only thing that could make the experience even better would be the option to grab a coffee to pair with the fantastic sandwiches. This food truck is truly a gem, and I'm so glad I finally stopped.
The Tasty Yolk

The Tasty Yolk truly lives up to its name. My breakfast sandwich, a simple turkey and egg white on a roll, was incredibly tasty. While the price of a basic BEC sandwich might seem a bit high at around $8, the flavors make it worth a try. Despite a minor issue, the overall taste was satisfying. The small indoor and outdoor seating adds to the cozy vibe, making it a must-visit for breakfast. The potato bowl is filling, and the sandwiches, especially the wraps, are amazing. The pancakes are also a treat! If you're there for lunch or dinner, don't miss out on the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. It hits the perfect balance of crunch and juiciness without being too spicy. The sandwiches here offer generous portions and delicious flavors with perfectly cooked meats and warm buns. You can’t go wrong with their options, but the crispy mother clucker and the Mahi "haha fish" sandwich stand out. Both are super tasty and highly recommended.
Kiosko Diner

Kiosko Diner in Bridgeport is my go-to spot for breakfast. The food is consistently good and packed with flavor. I've been here multiple times and it never disappoints. My favorite dish is the torta milanesa de pollo; it's just delicious. The quesadillas are a must-try too, with perfectly melted cheese and plenty of flavor. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but still reasonable considering the quality. The service is excellent, with friendly and welcoming staff who make you feel right at home. I often order the chicken tacos, and they nail it every time. The atmosphere is warm, and the servers are attentive. I've brought friends along and they've all loved it too. The diverse menu means there's something for everyone, and the authentic Mexican cuisine is a highlight. I also enjoy the classic breakfast dishes like French toast with eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, and sausage. My husband tried the rice with egg over easy, tostones, and bacon, and couldn't stop raving about it. This place truly is my favorite spot in Bridgeport, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal. We'll definitely keep coming back!
Source Coffeehouse
2889 Fairfield Ave, Bridgeport

Source Coffeehouse is a gem for breakfast in Bridgeport. The coffee is simple and good, and it's one of the few spots in Connecticut where they make their own cold foam, which is hard to find. They offer unique cold foam flavors like vanilla, mocha, honey, and lavender. It tastes like smooth, foamy ice cream and is vegan, which is a bonus. We tried the seasonal spring Sakura hot latte, which was sweet and delicious. My wife had the vanilla latte, and she said it was the best she's ever had. The staff was helpful, and our drinks were made quickly, both at the perfect temperature and topped with great foam texture and art. Their WiFi speeds are stellar, making it a great place to get some work done while enjoying a good latte. I highly recommend trying their house-made syrups and checking out the seasonal menu. The hazelnut and honey coffee I had was better than Starbucks. The sandwiches were filling and delicious, and the waffles were crispy and sweet. I especially loved the cheese and cucumbers with the avocado toast. While the coffee is on the pricier side, with my iced coffee costing $6.50, the experience is worth it. Anyone looking for a chill cafe with sweet staff, delicious vegan breakfast options, and the best coffee should definitely visit Source Coffeehouse. It's a cute place that I'll certainly return to.
Fruta Deli and Cafe

Fruta Deli and Cafe in Bridgeport is a great spot for breakfast, especially if you're on the go between Connecticut and New York. Located conveniently near where I live, it's a spacious place perfect for getting some work done on a laptop. The food is fresh and tasty, and you get good value for your money. I tried the spicy tuna melt, which had a unique twist with avocado. While the texture might not be for everyone, it was a pleasant change. The BLT salad I ordered was huge, enough to share with two others, and everything in it was fresh. The staff is friendly, and the service is efficient, especially when you call ahead. The shakes and smoothies look fantastic, and I'll definitely try one next time. For parking, street metered spots are available, and it's easy to pick up your order quickly. If you're in the downtown area, it's worth checking out for fresh and reasonably priced meals. This place is a staple for us during trips, and the avocado toast and vegetarian omelette are highly recommended. We'll definitely stop by again for breakfast.
Nick Diner

Nick Diner in Bridgeport is a nice and cozy spot for brunch. We visited on a Sunday, and it was pleasantly clean and not crowded. The food was very enjoyable, and the service was prompt. You can tell the staff really care about their work. The vibe is great, and the food is even better. Although we had to wait a bit longer—only because someone in our group ordered a burger at breakfast—it was well worth it. The french toast, bacon, and home fries were the best I've had. The sausage links and eggs were also excellent. The inside is comfortable and more spacious than the pictures suggest. It's become our new favorite spot, with A-1 service. Thanks for having us!
Harborview Market

I've been to Harborview Market for breakfast in Bridgeport many times, and it never disappoints. Their fresh daily housemade cookies are amazing — you absolutely have to try them! And the Nutella iced latte is phenomenal; it's the perfect treat to start your day. Their fresh-baked croissants are to die for, making it a spot I always look forward to visiting. On one of our visits, my friend wasn't feeling well, and the staff treated her with such kindness and care that she felt like a queen. It was comforting to see her feel better thanks to their attention and hospitality. It's reassuring to know that this place can save the day. We love their breakfast and brunch options, and if you're a fan of prosciutto, pesto, and mozzarella, you should definitely try The Paisan. It's become a local favorite for a reason, with good coffee and delicious baked goods. The neighborhood vibe is perfect, and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating, which is great no matter the weather. Plus, they have the best blueberry muffins around. Just a heads-up, like most restaurants, it gets busier on weekends, so plan accordingly. And there's convenient off-street parking, which is always a plus.
Bagel King of Bridgeport
3550 Main St, Bridgeport

Brittany Church
Bagel King of Bridgeport is a gem in the city and has been a staple for good reason. The staff here is incredibly efficient, fast, and friendly, which makes every visit pleasant. They really care about their work, and it shows in the quality of their food and drinks. Their matcha and chai latte are the best I've ever had. I've tried various wraps and sandwiches, and they're all fantastic. The honey walnut cranberry chicken salad sandwich was delicious and generously sized, definitely worth the price. My husband loved the steak, egg, and cheese on a Portuguese roll. The place is always busy, probably because of the huge variety of bagels, spreads, sandwiches, pastries, and more. The service is fast and efficient, which is great. The decor inside is nice, with a few tables both inside and outside, though it's more of a grab-and-go spot. My bagel, loaded with cream cheese, was excellent, and the coffee was good too, all at reasonable prices. I would give it five stars if not for the floors and tables, which needed cleaning. The bonus drive-through is a nice touch for those on the go. Overall, it's a fantastic breakfast spot in Bridgeport.
White's Diner
280 Boston Ave, Bridgeport
(203) 366-7486
Erick Smith
We visited White's Diner for breakfast and had a pretty positive experience overall. It's a quaint spot located on a busy intersection, which adds to its charm. Parking was a bit tricky, but once we found a spot, we were seated right away without having to wait, which was great as we were eager to continue our journey home. The ambiance was cozy, and the staff, who were bilingual, were courteous and attentive from the start. Our drinks came out quickly, which was nice. There was a bit of a wait for the food, but once it arrived, it was worth it. The portions were generous—my blueberry pancakes, omelet with peppers and onions, and bowl of grits were all fresh, hot, and delicious. I even had to pack some of it to-go because the servings were so large. One downside was that after placing our order, we didn’t feel as attended to—we didn’t get checked on for extra napkins or drink refills. I had to request a to-go container, which another waitress handed to me, missing a chance for some interaction. Despite these small hiccups, White's Diner does stand out as one of the better spots for breakfast in Bridgeport. It's a great place to support local businesses, and I would recommend it for a hearty breakfast. Just a little more attention to all patrons could make the experience even better. Overall, 9/10!

Babyyyyyyy when I say the food was amazing, trust me, they did not disappoint! The chicken was cooked to perfection, and the dynasty sandwich was to die for - French toast, chicken breast, eggs, cheese, and beef bacon, oh my! I was so full, babyyyyyyy 🤣🤣. The owner even came by with this incredible peach cobbler oatmeal with extra toppings, and not to mention, she's very beautiful. It was a great experience; we just happened to stop in on our journey home, and the hospitality was amazing. Jayla was the bomb dot com! She was very honest and super friendly, and I wish her nothing but good things in life. It's nothing like having amazing service to go with delicious food. Trust and believe, I'll be back. What better place to bring your mommies on Mother's Day? 🌹 The food was delicious, though our waiter forgot our strawberry lemonade. The music was a bit loud for me, but that's just me. I haven't had grits this good since visiting North Carolina, so I was definitely enjoying it. My wife was happy at the end of the day, so I dropped a fine tip. We will definitely stop in again when we pass by. My family and I went here for brunch. We had a 2 pm reservation. The place is small, primarily for locals to take out, but the food was exceptional. Everything was fresh and HOT. The red velvet waffle was delicious. My only complaint would be the wait time; my stepson was served much later than we all were. We were almost done when his food came. The people are friendly and moving as fast as possible. It's very busy, and I see why. Amazing food!!! Breakfast was really good, and this place is a gem. I'm not from Bridgeport, but I will tell anyone who stops by the city that they have to stop here for breakfast. Update: This is my 5th time coming for breakfast. Best breakfast I've ever had.
Bridgeport Flyer Diner

When I visited Bridgeport Flyer Diner for breakfast, I was really impressed. The eggs Benedict were fantastic, and the service was top-notch. They have some great breakfast specials, and the French toast looked delicious too. It was my first time here, and I can definitely say it’s worth the money. The atmosphere is very homey, and the waitresses are respectful and polite. As for the food, it exceeded my expectations with huge portions and incredible taste. The desserts were phenomenal as well. This is truly one of the best diners I’ve ever been to, and I will certainly be back. Even on a busy weekend, the staff was friendly and provided speedy service.
Tomlinson's Restaurant LLC
1400 Noble Ave, Bridgeport
(203) 335-5296
Salahudin Garcia
I've been coming to Tomlinson's Restaurant since it was just a tiny shack in the parking lot, and I have to say, they still serve pretty good food. The workers are always kind, and the atmosphere is friendly and organized. I ordered a chili and bacon hotdog with onion rings and a medium tea, and it was an excellent deal for just $11.36. The hotdog had a nice crispy bite, which I usually don't like since I prefer boiled, but this one surprised me. The rings were fresh, and everything was clean. One of the things I love about this place is that they serve Pepsi, which is a treat for someone living in Georgia, a Coca-Cola state. It brought back childhood memories, which made my weekend trip wonderful. Even though it's been over 22 years since I've been back, Tomlinson's is just as I remembered. The fries and salad I had were also good, and although I was a bit shocked by the $18 price tag, that's just the economy now. Despite what some people say about this place replacing "The Greeks," I found the food to be decent. My family has been coming here for over 20 years, and their chili remains a family favorite, even if it's a bit spicy. We moved, but we still drive 40 minutes to enjoy their meals. It's a kid-friendly spot with a good value menu, and I highly recommend giving them a try. Five stars from me!
Galaxy Diner-Restaurant

Shishir Leiva
Galaxy Diner-Restaurant has been a beloved part of my childhood, and after a decade away, I brought my 9-year-old and wife to experience it. I'm thrilled to say they still have it! The food was top-notch and the service was excellent, accommodating everything we wanted and exceeding our expectations. We were welcomed warmly, even arriving just before the lunch special time. The clam chowder was impressive, and the gyro was delicious. On our way to Newark airport, it was a great pit stop. I thoroughly enjoyed the veggie tray with tzatziki and the turkey wrap, even though I would have preferred deli turkey over cubed. The potato cakes were a tad salty, and the coleslaw wasn’t my favorite, but overall, the food and service were great. The Halloween decorations added a fun touch, and the extensive menu was a pleasant surprise with so many options. We stopped here during a road trip, and the food came out quickly. The mozzarella sticks were by far the standout. While other items didn't blow me away, nothing was terrible either—just solid, average fare. A small hiccup with the beer order was a bit disappointing, as my husband was served a 0% ABV beer and we were charged the full price despite bringing it to attention. Still, it won't deter us from visiting again when the opportunity arises, as the overall experience and nostalgic value keep us coming back.

Bagel King of Bridgeport has a great breakfast vibe. My order was ready faster than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff is friendly, and the service is quick. I highly recommend trying the Avocado BLT with Chipotle mayo wrap; it’s one of the best sandwiches out there. Also, the Mango Iced Tea is a must-try. There’s a nice little outdoor seating area, perfect for when you're with your dogs. While there are some challenges like limited vegan options and occasional issues with the credit card machine, the overall experience is quite enjoyable.
Famous 50's Diner
472 Huntington Turnpike, Bridgeport
(203) 572-0777
Gagan Monterroso
Famous 50's Diner is a gem for breakfast in Bridgeport! Walking in, the decor instantly takes you back to the 50s with its black and white theme and the TV playing Old Westerns. While the decorations might be a bit much for some, they do add to the charm. I was pleasantly surprised by the attentive service, especially from the young waiter who made sure everything was perfect during my visit. The breakfast deal I got was fantastic—scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, potatoes, a small orange juice, and coffee, all for just $12.99. The coffee seemed complimentary, which was a nice touch. Even though the place was empty at 8:30 am, the food was fresh and tasty. The menu is extensive, offering everything from breakfast items to burgers and even Spanish rice and seafood. On another visit, I tried the nachos, and they did not disappoint—great portion size and perfect for a road trip snack. The family-owned vibe is strong here, and everyone is super friendly, making you feel right at home. Despite the nearing closing time, the staff maintained their enthusiasm and took care of each table with a smile. In my line of work as a bartender, I know how rare and valuable that kind of customer service is, especially close to closing. It's clear the staff enjoys what they do, and that makes the experience all the better. I'm definitely adding this diner to my list of must-stops on future trips to Massachusetts. Whether you’re a regular or a first-timer, this place is a solid choice for a satisfying and friendly breakfast experience.
Frankie's Diner
1660 Barnum Ave, Bridgeport

Joey Alamo
Frankie's Diner is a classic, and I love how it hasn't changed in over 20 years. The service was fantastic. Our server was amazing, handling our playful antics with a smile. My aunt even mentioned how her necklace reminded her of the one from Titanic, and the server laughed, saying that's why she bought it. I definitely need to try those disco fries next time! The food was phenomenal, with huge portions to boot. I had French toast, eggs, grits, turkey bacon/sausage, and tea—delicious and enough to last me two days. By far, it's the best diner I've been to in Connecticut. On another visit, I tried their triple cheese burger, cooked medium rare, exactly how I wanted, and it was perfect. The fries were the ideal mix of soft and crunchy. I also had disco fries, which were just as outstanding. The staff was attentive and made sure everything was perfect with my order, and I appreciated the ease of paying with a QR code instead of waiting in line. Overall, my experience was excellent, and I'm looking forward to going back again. Thank you, Frankie's Diner!
Thelma’s Soul Food Restaurant & Bar
138 Fairfield Ave, Bridgeport
(203) 337-9957
Nicandro Delaune
We were in town for my sister's fashion show and stumbled upon Thelma’s Soul Food Restaurant & Bar while searching for a good breakfast spot on Google Maps. Let me tell you, the food was absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was a hit with our group of four. My mom wished they had tartar sauce for the fish, but even without it, the flavor was spot on. We devoured the mac and cheese, yams, potato salad, and rice with black-eyed peas. Highly recommend all of them! For meats, we went with the fried fish, pulled pork, and smothered pork chops. Those pork chops were incredible, melting in my mouth and seasoned to perfection. As a soul food enthusiast who's traveled across the country, I can confidently say this place is a hidden gem. The owner was incredibly gracious, preparing our meals even after the kitchen had technically closed. Talk about hospitality! The rum punch took us straight to the Caribbean, adding to the night's nostalgia. The whole experience was blissful—delicious food, friendly staff, and live entertainment. It felt like family hosting a special dinner. The ambiance was cozy, and the tequila drink I had was just right. Everything from the catfish to the savory yams and perfect black-eyed peas was finger-licking good. All this for just $60? Worth every penny. I can't wait to return. The only suggestion: get menus with prices so I can plan to order even more next time! Hands down, one of the best restaurants in Bridgeport. Highly recommend it.
