I got a breakfast taco from Minios and it was super tasty. The taco was way bigger than I expected, and I only paid $8 for two huge tacos. The meals are always made fresh, and the flavor proves it. I'll definitely be coming back! Beyond the food, the restaurant was very clean, and the service was great. The staff is incredibly nice and friendly, making you feel like family. I tried the Breakfast Smash Burger, and it was the best burger I’ve ever had in my life! It didn’t even need ketchup or mustard—the chef got it perfect. I also came back for the Tacos de Birria, which are a must-try. I think they're only served on Wednesdays, so be sure to check. I loved the food; it's real Mexican food. The chicken flauta plate was also amazing. I was in town for work from Houston, and this place is now on my Brownsville short list of eating spots!

Exquisite cuisine! The waiter told us we could ask for anything, and they'd make it. The food tasted great, and the staff was friendly. This was my second visit, though my parents come here often for breakfast and love it, just like I do. The prices on their specials are really good. Our server was quick, and the place was clean. The owner is very friendly. I had huevos con nopales, and the beans were super yummy! I also ordered a biscuit, and everything was delicious. My wife and I decided to try it after looking at the reviews, and we were not disappointed. It’s a nice little restaurant with excellent service and great food. I really appreciate personal service and am willing to pay for it, but here I get to eat what I want without paying extra. Love it.

Lovely staff and delicious coffee made to order—yum, yum, and yum! This small but cozy spot near the historic district of Brownsville is walking distance from the Farmers Market and Museum of Fine Art. Believe the hype! I stopped by for a Mexican Mocha coffee with whole milk, and it's incredibly delicious and authentic. The chocolate abuelita stands out, clearly made with the actual chocolate bar instead of syrup. It's perfectly sweet and just the right consistency. I'm from out of town, so it's unfortunate I can't visit regularly because this would definitely be my coffee spot. The service was great, even for a quick visit. I was greeted with a smile, and received a brief but helpful description of the coffee. The place is amazing and comfortable, perfect for sitting down with a laptop to do some work. I didn't order food, just an iced vanilla latte, a hot vanilla latte, and a cappuccino—all were made to perfection! The spot gives off a great vibe with some jazz music and overall amazing service. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a nice morning coffee!

I had a fantastic experience at Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Brownsville for breakfast! The food was delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. When I stopped by, the person taking orders was polite, patient, and offered some great suggestions. I ended up trying a kiwi smoothie along with a Caribbean Jerk wrap and jalapeño corn, and everything tasted amazing! I was particularly impressed with the customer service at the drive-through. The team was efficient and cheerful, making the experience even more enjoyable. It's refreshing to find a place where the employees are genuinely helpful and provide excellent service. This will definitely be my new go-to spot when I'm on the move. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and tasty breakfast option.
Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q

Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q in Brownsville is hands down my favorite spot for breakfast. Every time I'm craving a hearty meal, this is where I head. Their brisket is exceptional, and you truly get great value for your money. I'm a big fan of their smoked potato, which always leaves me feeling full and satisfied. On my last visit, I tried the turkey sandwich for the first time, and it was deliciously moist and flavorful. The coleslaw was fresh and crisp, adding a nice touch to the meal. Everything was hot and ready to eat when I picked it up from the drive-thru, making the whole experience convenient and pleasant. Rudy's is perfect, whether I'm stopping by for a meal on the go or bringing friends and family for a feast. They offer plenty of options for large orders, which is great for group gatherings. Plus, their rice crispy treats are the best; they're perfectly sized and taste amazing. If you love barbecue, Rudy's is the place to go. They serve up fresh, made-to-order dishes quickly, so you never have to wait long to satisfy your hunger.

I had a great time at Dora's for breakfast in Brownsville. The food was super delicious, and I really enjoyed my lunch there. I'm definitely planning on coming back! The prices are quite reasonable, which is always a plus. The sopa de mariscos was a highlight for me; you can choose to have it spicy or not, and it really hits the spot. The portion might seem small at first, but it’s just right. I also tried the American enchilada plates and a beef milanesa plate. Everything, including the homemade corn tortillas, was tasty. The enchilada plates were a great deal at $6.99 each, with good portion sizes. While the milanesa plate was a bit pricier at around $12, and I've had larger portions at other places, the overall experience was satisfying. I’ll definitely be back for more!

Ricardo's Restaurant on Jaime Zapata Ave. in Brownsville is a fantastic place for breakfast. The buffet is impressive, especially the chef who prepares eggs and waffles to your liking right on the spot. The coffee is excellent, and the staff is always attentive, making sure you have everything you need without even asking. During our visit, we felt pleasantly surprised by the level of service. The staff deserves an A+ for being on point with every detail. The food was equally remarkable. We visited the restaurant on a Sunday, and even though it's not typically a buffet day, it was great to try the amazing lunch buffet on Wednesday with its delicious salad bar, featuring salad, fruit, boiled eggs, and a delightful raspberry vinaigrette. The signature buffet lineup is too good to pass up. The warm welcomes and goodbyes from the staff make the experience even better. The restaurant is clean, and the service is incredibly fast. We arrived during the lunch rush hour, and despite only one table being available, we were promptly seated and served. The chips and salsa we received were delicious, with the salsa being hot and fresh from the stove. Before we finished enjoying the complimentary bean soup with bacon, cilantro, onions, and tomatoes, our beef Milanesa (fried steak) was served in just 10 minutes. It was hot and very tasty. If you're in a rush but still want to enjoy delicious food, Ricardo's is the place to go. I highly recommend this restaurant for its excellent food and speedy service.

I had a great breakfast at Ricardo's in Brownsville! My meal included a small bowl of menudo and three tacos de barbacoa, and everything was fantastic. The staff is friendly and attentive, making my experience even better. Parking was a breeze on a Friday morning, and the prices were very reasonable, with everything on the breakfast menu under 10 dollars. Although I'm from Philly and not an expert on Mexican food, this place impressed me. The restaurant was bustling, and I even saw a table full of police officers enjoying their lunch, which is always a good sign. I also tried the lunch buffet, and every dish was delicious. The service is quick, and the atmosphere is fun with 80s music playing in the background. I'm definitely making Ricardo's my go-to spot for breakfast!
Gorditas Dona Tota

I had a wonderful breakfast experience at Gorditas Doña Tota on Old Port Isabel in Brownsville, TX. The chicharron gorditas were excellent, bursting with flavor and made with fresh ingredients. The coffee was great, perfectly complementing the meal. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the good music made my meal even more enjoyable. I tried the No. 1 combo, which included two gorditas with a guiso and one with beans and white cheese. The beans were a bit runny, but that didn't take away from the overall taste. The fideo was delicious, and I didn't need to add any salt. The salsas were spot-on, adding the right amount of kick. Customer service was very good, making me feel right at home. I definitely plan on coming back to enjoy more of their handmade Mexican dishes. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience! 🌵💪🏽😋

Big Daddy's Burgers & Shakes in Brownsville is a fantastic spot for breakfast! Walking in, I'm always greeted warmly, and the staff is consistently professional and friendly. Special thanks to Judy for her attentiveness and kindness. On my first visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of both the food and service. The Chicken Fried Chicken plate was one of the best I've had. During a work trip, we stopped by for lunch, and I ordered the Texan Burger with fries. The meat patty had great flavor, and the jalapeños complemented it perfectly. The chips and salsa were tasty, though I wish the chips came in a bigger basket. My colleague enjoyed the fish tacos, and we both loved the watermelon Fresca—absolutely amazing. While I wasn't a fan of the shake, the food was excellent. I had a bacon cheeseburger that was full of flavor. I noticed some people ordering tacos and regretted not trying them too. I wish the ranch dressing was better, but overall, it was a great experience. The sweet waitress and delicious food will definitely bring me back.

This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of visiting Jolie Petite for the first time around 1 PM. The experience from the moment I walked in was fantastic. I was welcomed warmly and seated promptly. The staff was attentive, offering recommendations that truly enhanced my experience. I decided to try the Biscuits with butter and jam, the Crab Eggs Benedict, the Apple Crisp French Toast, and a Sorbet Mimosa with pear and apple cider. Every dish was incredibly savory and delightful. Our waiters were friendly and attentive, striking the perfect balance of being present without being intrusive. The cozy and charming atmosphere made it an ideal spot to relax. And let me tell you, the food was delicious! It's undoubtedly the best place for brunch if you're in the mood for a good mimosa. Jolie Petite is a cute and quaint café in Brownsville, offering great service and delicious food. The pastries are a must-try, and the service has been consistently great every time I've visited for brunch. Coming from NYC, a city known for its international cuisine, I can confidently say that the Apple Crisp French Toast here is the best I've had. It's perfectly moist inside with a crisp outside, truly second to none. The café is in a lovely preserved building with a tall ceiling, offering a fine brunch atmosphere highlighted by Southern Texas charm. Don’t miss out on their top-class desserts either. I definitely plan to return whenever I'm in town.
Casa Mexicana –100% casero breakfast and lunch

Craig Sullivan
I decided to stop by Casa Mexicana –100% Casero for breakfast while in Brownsville, and I'm glad I did. The Carne guisada plate was a standout. The meat was tender, the rice was flavorful and not dried out, and the mashed beans were perfect. The dish was well-presented, and everything tasted amazing. It’s clear that the chef knows their stuff. The restaurant is small but clean, and the staff, though limited in number, was very hospitable and efficient. Prices are reasonable—my dish came out to $14 with a drink—and the portions are generous. While there, I also tried the Mexican plate lunch special. It included hamburger tacos, enchiladas, and a tostada with rice and beans. The portion size was decent for the price, although I do wish the tacos had a bit more flavor. Despite this, the experience was enjoyable overall, and I found the location convenient, especially for breakfast and lunch. It’s a great spot to visit when in Brownsville, and the simple, delicious food makes it worth returning to explore more of the menu.

This place had good salsa, and the entire meal was delicious through and through. Order the eggs special. My wife got the chilaquiles. I will definitely be returning. We ordered two plates, two drinks, and a biscuit, all for like 30 bucks! Very delicious and very worth the trip. Come through. It's like terras or morning glory without the hype or high prices. Delicious and the chilaquiles were perfect! I ordered one of their platters and it came out quickly. I also loved the ambiance—very calm and nice for a Sunday morning breakfast with family. Their sauce was also good—very authentic. Great food and pricing! We were attended to almost right away, the food was more than enough to fill us up, and the total came out to about $28 for three of us! We will definitely be coming back!
Nicho's Cafe Y Taqueria

Dionicia Shearin
Visited Nicho's Cafe Y Taqueria for breakfast in Brownsville, and it was a great choice. The tacos and gorditas were amazing, perfectly cooked and savory. The chilaquiles were a smaller serving than expected but hit the spot, showcasing authentic Mexican flavors. The atmosphere was clean, and the service was very hospitable. Even though Spanish is the primary language spoken, the menu is clear and helpful, making it easy for everyone to order. A little tip: if you're paying with a card, remember to bring cash for tipping since the receipt doesn't have an option for it. Nicho's is an excellent spot for some delicious Mexican food, and I enjoy stopping by for menudo whenever I can. Definitely a place worth visiting for good Mexican cooking. Thanks to Bianca for the great service. I'll be recommending this restaurant to everyone!
The Human Bean
447 E Alton Gloor Blvd, Brownsville

Adam Markovich
The Human Bean in Brownsville is a fantastic spot for breakfast. The service here is top-notch, and the staff is always ready to help explain anything you might not understand about the menu. While the prices are a bit on the high side, the quality of the drinks makes it worth it. Each coffee comes with a candy-covered espresso bean, which is a nice touch. My cold brew with caramel flavoring and cold foam was delicious. It’s primarily a drive-thru and walk-up place, which makes it perfect for a quick coffee run. I also appreciate their military/veteran discount, which shows they value their customers. One of my favorite drinks to try was the horchata granita with coconut milk, topped with whipped cream and powdered matcha—it was a unique and refreshing treat. However, there was a mix-up with our order when we needed to replace my coffee. The barista didn’t listen to my husband properly, resulting in us getting the wrong items without an apology. Also, a snowy mocha was called something else, which caused some confusion. It would be great if the staff could confirm orders before completing them. Despite this minor hiccup, The Human Bean continues to be an impressive coffee shop with an amazing selection of drinks that keep me coming back.
Taco Palenque Morrison
4227 N Expressway #77, Brownsville
(956) 350-8232
Julio Mc Caffrey
I visited Taco Palenque Morrison in Brownsville for breakfast, and I have to say, this place exceeded all my expectations. We were in town from Houston for a week, trying out different taco spots, and this one stands out as the best. Although it's a chain, the locals highly recommended it, so we decided to give it a shot. The service was top-notch—friendly, helpful, and welcoming from start to finish. The salsa bar and warm chips were excellent, and the food was simply outstanding. The beef and chicken fajitas were delicious, making it the best meal we've had in Brownsville so far. The atmosphere was clean and inviting, and the food always arrived hot and fresh, complete with extra tortillas when we asked. Even though it's a bit pricey, it was worth every penny. The "parillada for 2," a mix of fajita and chicken, was juicy and tender. The freshly made Jamaica drink was refreshing, and I couldn't get enough of the purple onion with lemon from the salsa bar—it was one of the main reasons I stopped by. If you're in town and unsure where to eat, this is a must-visit spot. The experience made me feel at home, and I can't wait to check out the locations back in Houston. Highly recommend this place to friends; I'll definitely be back soon!

This past Sunday, I had my first visit to Super Cream for breakfast in Brownsville, and it was an incredible experience. As soon as we walked in, a friendly worker welcomed us and told us to sit wherever we liked, which made us feel right at home. Our waiter, Christian, was fantastic and provided excellent service throughout our meal. The food was top-notch and truly delicious. The desserts were a highlight, with flavors that truly delighted my taste buds. The cashier was also very attentive and friendly, adding to our positive experience. Everything about the visit was impressive, from the food to the service and the atmosphere—easily a 10/10. A special shoutout to Karol, who was hands down the best worker there. Her warm personality and attentiveness made us feel incredibly welcome. If you visit, I highly recommend asking for her. Overall, it was a great experience, and my husband and I are already looking forward to coming back.
McDonald's
101 S Expressway, Brownsville
(956) 541-1031
Molly Rivas
I've been visiting the McDonald's in Brownsville every day this week, mostly because I've been trying to collect the Hello Kitty collection. I have to say, the breakfast experience has been quite positive overall. The food comes out fast and fresh, which is exactly what you want when you're on the go in the mornings. Also, this location is noticeably cleaner compared to other McDonald's playlands in the area, which is a big plus. I do want to give a special shout-out to Gael, one of the employees there. He’s always hard at work, and even when things got especially busy with a birthday party on Friday, he managed to handle everything with efficiency and a positive attitude. It's clear he takes his job seriously and deserves recognition for it. While there are some aspects of the service process that could use improvement, I appreciate the effort of the staff who are often under a lot of pressure. Mistakes happen, but the food and atmosphere make up for it in the mornings. Overall, it's a decent spot to grab breakfast.
Los Mismos
4940 Frontage Rd, Brownsville
(956) 350-5451
Hugh Miller
During my visit to Los Mismos for breakfast in Brownsville, I was genuinely impressed with the entire experience. The service was exceptional—friendly and efficient from start to finish. It was our first time there, and it definitely won't be the last. The food was delicious, especially the cornbread, which was so delightful that we couldn't resist ordering a second slice. I went based on a recommendation and wasn't disappointed. The staff were welcoming and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. I decided to try the chilaquiles verdes, and overall, it was well-presented. The chips were perfectly made, and the cheese was fresh and nicely broiled. The sauce, while fresh, was a bit bitter, likely due to some unripe ingredients, but it didn't detract too much from the dish. The bacon was tasty, albeit slightly overcooked, and the beans weren’t my favorite, but that's a minor quibble in an otherwise satisfying meal. The pricing was very reasonable, with my meal and coffee coming to just $6.99, thanks to a special they were running. I also tried the Enchiladas Americanas de pollo during a previous visit. The dish, which included three chicken enchiladas, savory rice, refried beans, and garnishes, was excellent and well worth recommending. Los Mismos exceeded my expectations, and every part of my dining experience was fulfilled. Despite the minor issues, the quality of service and food makes it a place worth visiting again.

Yesenia Ivezaj
Querido Mexico Lindo in Brownsville is the ultimate spot for Mexican food cravings, especially late at night since they’re open 24 hours! The food is fantastic, with awesome daily specials that make it worth stopping by anytime. The Picadillo and Menudo are absolutely top-notch, some of the best I’ve had in Brownsville. The place gets packed, and that’s because it’s genuinely that good! Even if you don’t speak Spanish, ordering is easy thanks to the photos on the menu. I’m not great with Spanish myself, but the staff was super helpful and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. It’s also a perfect go-to for night workers looking for a decent meal. Plus, the pricing is great for the amount of food you get. Highly recommend!
