Café Tizón in El Monte is a breakfast gem! I tried the pozole rojo with some delicious toppings and their red salsa, paired with tostadas, and it was absolutely amazing. My husband devoured his tacos before I could even start my meal! The owners were incredibly sweet and attentive, making us feel right at home. The agua de jamaica and piña were both delightful and refreshing. While I wasn't impressed with the chicken tamales—they were cold and not as flavorful as expected—the overall experience was fantastic. The tacos de al pastor and asada were delicious with fresh tortillas and tasty salsa. The large menudo was clean and flavorful, and the pricing was reasonable, especially in today's economy. Despite the tamales being on the pricier side at $30 a dozen, everything else made the visit worth it. The Café Tizón is definitely a spot I'll be returning to, especially for their pozole and tacos. 5/5!

Annia's Kitchen is such a fun spot for breakfast! The food is great, and the staff is so efficient and friendly. Seriously, what more could you ask for? I love that they serve breakfast all day, and their Mexican food selection is amazing—especially the salsa, which is out of this world. They also have a good variety of burgers and sandwiches. The seating options are great too, with both indoor and outdoor choices. Last time, I had two very different meals: one had a dry omelet with perfectly dark and crisp hashbrowns, while the other had juicy scrambled eggs but undercooked hashbrowns. When I pointed it out, the waitress was quick to help, but unfortunately, the hashbrowns didn’t improve. The pancakes were big and fluffy, but had a funny taste, so we ended up leaving most of them, which is unusual for us since we love pancakes. Despite that, I’ve heard so many good things about Annia's Kitchen that I’m willing to give them another chance the next time I'm in the area. The breakfast is absolutely amazing with great portions, prices, and flavors. The workers are all so friendly. It's a must-visit spot. Plus, it's located at the San Gabriel Valley Airport, where you can enjoy watching aircraft take off and land. They even have Menudo on weekends!

I dined at Aloha Stacks for breakfast in El Monte and was impressed. The food was delicious, and the options made it hard to decide, especially after seeing other customers' dishes. The best strategy is to order a few plates and share them with your companions. The Spam was a bit salty for my taste, but if you're craving Hawaiian-inspired food, this spot delivers on your favorites. Ordering is straightforward: you place your order at the counter and then take a seat. The food is brought out to you, hot and fresh. While the loco moco wasn't my favorite—the rice was undercooked, and the Portuguese sausage lacked flavor—the Ube pancakes were a standout. Overall, Aloha Stacks is a great spot for a quick and satisfying meal, perfect for locals whether you're dining in or getting takeout.

Art's Burgers in El Monte is a gem for breakfast and beyond. The burgers are truly delicious—so good that I'm willing to drive long distances just to get my hands on them. When I think of those perfectly cooked buns, melted cheese, and juicy meat, my mouth starts watering. This place gives me a homey In-N-Out vibe, but with a unique touch that many places miss. I love that they use Heinz ketchup, my personal favorite, and their fries are seasoned and fried to perfection. The onion rings and boysenberry shake I tried were fantastic too. It feels like stepping back to a time when food was about fresh ingredients and authentic taste, reminiscent of what McDonald's used to be decades ago. The charm of Art's Burgers is in its simplicity—it's not about flashy, overpriced meals but about getting a great burger. It's a wonderful place with a double drive-through and a small parking lot, complete with tables and benches to enjoy your meal. There's even a walk-up order window for added convenience. Thanks, Art, for reminding us what burgers should be like.

Bill's Drive In is hands down my favorite spot for breakfast in El Monte. I make sure to carry cash, and it's totally worth it. You just can't beat their juicy flame-broiled burgers and crispy fries. They have a lot of food options, and everything is made with fresh ingredients. The service is always fast and friendly, which is a huge plus. Their chili cheese fries are simply the best—so much flavor and just the right amount of chili. I love that I can get them with my burger combo. I've tried many places, and The Hat doesn’t even come close. The charbroiled burgers are absolutely delicious, and it’s rare to find such quality these days. While I’ve mostly enjoyed the burgers, I did give their breakfast a shot. The service was still fantastic, but the eggs and French toast were not to my liking. However, their breakfast burritos are worth the drive from San Dimas to El Monte. They are the best I've had, loaded with all the right flavors, and definitely worth every penny. If you're passing through the area, do yourself a favor and stop by Bill's Drive In. Whether it's for breakfast or a juicy burger, you won’t be disappointed. Just remember they're cash only and close early. But trust me, it's so worth it.

I've been coming to Nick's Burgers in El Monte since I was a child, and it never disappoints. The food is always top-notch, and the employees are super sweet. It's got this timeless charm that makes me hope it stays around forever. Plus, the location is pretty cool—you'll often see interesting cars passing by with the DMV just down the street. The food is where Nick's truly shines. The breakfast situation can be a bit tricky, though. A few times, I've called to order breakfast, and I've been given different cut-off times. There was one instance where I was told breakfast stopped at 11 am, but when I called at 10:45 am, I was denied. It was a bit frustrating, but the food quality makes up for it. The cheeseburger special for $11 is a steal for how tasty it is. I love coming here for the onion rings—they're my go-to, and the portion size is generous, much like what you'd expect from Tops or The Hat. They also offer Horchata and Orange Bang alongside the usual sodas, although refills for those are extra. Nick's is easy to reach, with plenty of parking and convenient public transit options nearby, like the El Monte red trolley and Metro buses. One area for improvement would be the restroom; it could use an update, but it's not a dealbreaker. Overall, Nick's is a great spot with tasty food and a welcoming vibe. Whether you're in the mood for burgers or onion rings, this is the place to be.

First time visiting Flo's Coffee Shop even though I've lived in El Monte for five years. It's a small but surprisingly spacious diner—a nice spot for a meal. I tried the French Toast Combo with a large orange juice, which came to $22.20, and with a $7.80 tip, it was $30 total. The food was delicious, and the place seemed clean. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was fast, thanks to a lot of help in the kitchen. The atmosphere feels like a mix of a veterans' lodge and a small-town diner, and when I visited at 10 am on a Wednesday, there was a mix of older guys, a young couple, and a family with a toddler. Parking is limited, but I found a spot easily since it wasn't too busy. The food is some of the best I've had at a coffee shop. Portions are big, and the hospitality is excellent. The waffles and eggs are perfectly fluffy, and the biscuits and gravy hit the spot. Even though one experience wasn't great, with rubbery pancakes and sparse chorizo in the eggs, the beans were delicious. Overall, it’s a great place with good service. I'll definitely be coming back!

I've been coming here for over a year now, and it never disappoints. The country fried steak and eggs used to be my go-to, but recently I tried their breakfast burrito and it was fantastic. The French toast and pancakes are also great picks. Apple Jack's truly feels like a hidden gem, providing consistently great food and service. I ordered french toast and coffee, both of which were really good. The food here is consistently great, and everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The club sandwich, beef dip, and pastrami come highly recommended. The Beef Dip sandwiches, in particular, were fantastic - truly off the hook! What’s even more charming is the little touch of giving out candy if you finish your meal. It's these small gestures that make dining at Jolly Jug memorable. The owner is sweet and funny, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. Every visit feels like a trip down memory lane, especially since I've been coming here since I was 12. I always make it a point to stop by when visiting from Arizona for their incredible Cole Slaw - it’s the best, unlike any other I've tried. The sandwiches are equally impressive. Thank you, Jolly Jug, for the great food, fair prices, and wonderful service. Looking forward to my next visit!

The food tastes homemade and fresh with every bite. I started with the mamalona chilaquiles, split between red and green sauce, both of which were stellar, although I leaned slightly towards the red. The portion was generous and the flavors were perfectly balanced. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted, and their offer of a complimentary cup of coffee before my meal was a delightful gesture that perked me up. The steak in my meal was cooked to medium perfection, which suited the dish wonderfully. Additionally, the pepino agua fresca was refreshing and reminiscent of summer with its perfect lime and cucumber balance. I also tried the burrito de mole, filled generously and deliciously seasoned, offering a truly authentic taste. The fish taco was a highlight too, with its sauce perfectly complementing the fish. The handmade quesadilla brought me a genuine taste of Mexico, and the tres leches French toast and horchata were incredible. Everything felt like a warm home-cooked meal. The prices are fair considering the quality and portion sizes. If lower prices are your priority, this may not be the place for you, but for authentic, epic Mexican food, Teresa’s is unbeatable. The staff was consistently fantastic, offering great recommendations and showing exceptional hospitality. My sister and I felt welcomed from start to finish. I wish I could rate this place 10 stars. When I walked in around noon on a Monday, the place was packed—a good sign! You order from a menu where you pick dim sum items, and then they steam them and bring them right to your table. I love this method because you don’t have to wait for dim sum carts to come by. There's also a line for takeout, which is convenient. The seafood dumpling, porridge, and spare ribs were delicious. Most of the food is pretty standard, but the chicken feet were a bit sour, and the turnip cake was drier than I prefer. They only pan fry it without adding eggs, which makes it a little tough. However, the dim sum portions are large, which is a great value. Ordering is straightforward. You sit at your table, mark your choices on a sheet with pictures, and the food arrives quickly. I've been a regular here for years, often grabbing food on my way to CHLA. The red bean puff is a standout, and the custard bun is the best I've ever had. While I do miss the experience of picking from dim sum carts, the efficiency and taste make up for it. The prices are very reasonable, and I highly recommend stopping by. Also, I was expecting a two-patty melt but received just one, with bread that was a bit too toasty for my liking. The restroom could use some more regular attention, especially given the building's relatively new status. Most servers are kind and efficient, though a few seem less enthusiastic. Despite these minor issues, service was quick even with a busy crowd. Overall, NORMS is a reliable breakfast choice with great service and decent food.

NORMS Restaurant in El Monte is a solid spot for breakfast. The customer service stands out, especially our waiter, Jesus, who was incredibly friendly and attentive—some of the best service I’ve experienced. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and the staff was welcoming. I tried the clubhouse sandwich, which was delicious, and the milkshake was amazing.
