Beaute Manuelle Alenezi
Absolutely loved the crepes at Velvet Cafe! The food is fantastic and made fresh to order. The atmosphere is nice, and the service is friendly. I will definitely visit again when I'm in town—delicious food! I ordered a panini with egg, cheese, onion, and tomatoes since I don’t eat meat, and they were able to accommodate me perfectly! My boyfriend ordered the strawberry and banana crepe and cleaned his plate. I would highly recommend it if you're looking for tasty food! As for my daughter's experience, she enjoyed a strawberry crepe with Nutella and strawberries, along with freshly made churros with Nutella. Everything was fresh and warm. She can't wait to come back again! And I must mention, the best lemonade in New Jersey is here! The food is top-notch too.
Alkazar Bakery

Alkazar Bakery has truly become my favorite Uruguayan spot for breakfast, every visit is a delightful experience. Their pastries are simply top-notch, with a variety that always leaves me excited to try more. Their coffee and cappuccino are exceptional and provide the perfect start to the day. The ladies working here are friendly and welcoming, making each visit enjoyable. I can confidently recommend this bakery 100% to anyone in Elizabeth, NJ. On one of our visits, my wife and I indulged in five different bizcochos, two empanadas, and a cappuccino—all of which were delicious. One of the owners personally assisted us and took the time to explain each offering, which made the experience even better. The bakery always has a lively atmosphere, filled with happy customers who clearly love this place as much as we do. It's no surprise that people travel from afar to visit—it's just that good. Our favorite treat has to be the Chaja cake. I recently ordered one for my mother's birthday, and it was a hit. Everyone at the party raved about it, calling it the best Chaja cake they've ever had. The drive from over an hour away is definitely worth it for such amazing pastries and outstanding service. If you're anywhere near Elizabeth, this is the spot you need to check out. We will absolutely be back for more!
Dulce PK2

Dulce PK2 is a wonderful small restaurant and bakery that's perfect for breakfast in Elizabeth. The place is clean, the service is great, and the food is really good. They offer mostly Colombian dishes with plenty of non-Colombian options as well. It's a great value for the money. You can sit at sidewalk tables or inside, and they have fresh-made juices and excellent coffee. The location is super convenient, just an 8-10 minute drive from Newark airport. The staff is warm and welcoming, with a lady at the front desk and a supportive chef who makes sure everyone enjoys their meal with love and care. It's definitely a must-visit spot in a great neighborhood. I had a Cuban breakfast here, and it was fantastic. The meats are cooked on a charcoal grill out front, which adds to the experience. The menu is expected to change soon with even more delicious options. The choice of food, from Colombian to Mexican, is impressive, mostly featuring meat dishes. The portions are generous, and the service is amazing and super friendly. Plus, you can pay by card, which is convenient. There are a few tables inside, making it a cozy spot. Highly recommend this place; it's worth the search for street parking. Gracias!
North Avenue Bakery

Eleazar Davinci
I stopped by North Avenue Bakery for a quick breakfast and ended up having a delightful experience. Initially, I thought I'd grab a bagel, but I couldn't resist trying a pastry instead. Despite the language barrier with the staff, I simply pointed at what looked delicious, and I wasn't disappointed. While I hoped for a lemon flavor, the pastry I got was still quite good. The flan was also tasty. I stumbled upon this bakery while on holiday, and it turned out to be quite the gem. The pastries were amazing, and the staff were very friendly. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely be stopping by. My guests at the nearby Crown Plaza hotel loved the pizza I ordered for them, and on my next visit, the owner even recognized me. If you're a fan of Portuguese custard cakes, this is the place to be. They offer the most authentic recipe, reminiscent of the original custard cakes from Belém, Lisbon. Just sprinkle some cinnamon powder on top and enjoy a classic Portuguese breakfast with a custard and an espresso.
Roc's Café
1020 North Ave, Elizabeth
(908) 354-0849
Hailey Williams
I am so glad we stopped by Roc's Café for breakfast. Their bagels are fantastic; I tried both the salmon and avocado bagel and the turkey one, and they were large and delicious. The atmosphere is laid-back and inviting, making it a great spot for a cup of coffee and something sweet, even though the desserts were a tad too sweet for my liking. The standout moment was the exceptional customer service. The young lady at the counter was incredibly helpful, ensuring I had a great experience, which I truly appreciated. Her recommendations were spot-on. While the only downside was the street parking, especially on a busy Sunday morning, finding a spot was well worth the effort. Roc's Café is a gem in Elizabeth, NJ, located on the corner of North Ave and Van Buren Ave. The food is tasty, prices are affordable, and the place is clean. Despite being busy with airport employees during breakfast, it's definitely worth a visit. The friendly staff and delicious offerings make this spot a must-try. If you're in town, drop by and enjoy! 😊
Halal Central Diner
14 Jefferson Ave, Elizabeth
(908) 351-0999
Julie Pérez
If you're an early bird like me, you'll love this breakfast spot in Elizabeth, NJ. Halal Central Diner is a charming, family-owned diner offering a wide variety of halal bacon and sausages. The food is good, and the prices are reasonable. The owner, a kind gentleman from Palestine, adds a personal touch to the experience. I've ordered fish and grits, and it was delicious. The delivery service is excellent, and I loved how they packaged the food. The beef bacon was cooked perfectly, making it easy to reheat without losing its texture. The eggs and waffles were delightful; I don't mind that the waffles are frozen since I actually prefer them that way. Their Belgian waffle, beef bacon, salmon cakes, and grits have all been fantastic. I appreciate that they don't serve pork, which aligns with my preferences. Halal means the animals are treated humanely, which is important to me. I'm a big fan of their egg and cheese sandwich, rice and chicken platter, buffalo wings, and my husband enjoyed the gyro. While the place is a bit small for large groups, it's perfect for takeout. The staff is friendly, and the food is consistently good at reasonable prices. Halal Central Diner is a true gem in Elizabeth, and I'll keep coming back for more delicious meals!
White Diamond Diner

(908) 352-8555
Khurram Alvarez
Love the food at White Diamond Diner! The service is great, and they treat you like family. The folks are friendly, making it a nice place to stop for a coffee. I enjoy eating here with my grandchildren. Their California burgers with bacon are delicious, and the fries are so crispy. It's a very clean, family-friendly environment with good prices and excellent service. I highly recommend it. Even though it's been a while since I've been there, I can't stop thinking about their famous burgers and fries. For just $12, I got two large cheeseburgers and fries with lettuce and tomato. The spot might not look like much, but that's part of its charm. The fries were golden brown and delicious. If there's one downside, it's that they close at 3:00 PM. The diner has a classic atmosphere with old-time stools at the counter or you can choose a table with service.
Kelly's Breakfast
159 Elmora Ave, Elizabeth
(908) 351-5700
Casi Torres
Kelly's Breakfast is a gem in a busy area, and I found it just perfect. It's not too crowded, which is surprising given how great the food is. If they had a parking lot, I bet there would be lines out the door. The portion sizes are generous, and it's clear they put thought into their service and presentation. The home fries were spectacular, and those fluffy, golden pancakes were amazing—they really soak up the syrup. Everything was cooked just right, with fresh ingredients, and nothing was oily or overly salted. The food came out quicker than at most IHOPs I've visited, which was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is basic and clean, and while the chairs aren't the most comfortable, they do the job. It's an excellent spot for a family breakfast after church, especially being close to Warianco Park for a nice post-meal walk. The freshly squeezed orange juice is a must-try. They also serve great espresso, juice drinks, and iced coffee. Just don't be in a rush—good food here is worth the wait. Overall, it's a delightful place with quick, friendly service and delicious food.
Brisas Bakery & Restaurant
262 Morris Ave, Elizabeth
(908) 353-1377
Edwin Hudson
Brisas Bakery & Restaurant in Elizabeth is a fantastic spot for breakfast. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere is both typical and pleasant, making for an awesome Colombian experience. Lucas, our waiter, was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit. If you're looking for authentic Colombian flavors, this place is a must-visit. The veggie empanadas were the best I've ever had, with a crispy outside and soft inside. The coffee was equally impressive. The staff were very friendly, always smiling and attentive, making me feel like I had been transported to Colombia. I ordered an iced coffee, expecting something simple, but it arrived as a beautiful and delicious drink. The calentado con chicharron was a generous portion and tasted fantastic. The menu is huge, and everything we ordered was great. The breakfast dish with a toasted cheesy arepa, grilled beef, and fried rice was mind-blowing. We also tried the pork in pineapple sauce, which was unique but a bit unexpected with its Hawaiian pizza-like combination. Despite that, the meal was hearty and satisfying, with large portions. Though it's a bit out of my way, I'm already planning my next visit to enjoy the great staff and stylish restaurant.
Dreams Restaurant Before North Ave Luncheonette
1036 North Ave, Elizabeth
(908) 352-3640
Brian Portillo
Ilma at Dreams Restaurant Before North Ave Luncheonette truly creates unforgettable breakfast experiences. The food was simply amazing, with standout dishes like the Cuban sandwich with homemade roast pork and the flavorful cheesesteak. The portions were generous, and Ilma kindly wrapped up our leftovers for the journey. Her passion for cooking is evident in every bite. The fresh orange juice was a refreshing highlight—don’t miss it! The service was top-notch, making it a definite go-to spot whenever I'm flying into Newark Airport. The vibe is warm and welcoming, and the food is packed with flavor. My friend's rice, beans, and pork dish brought to mind home-cooked meals from a Brazilian grandma's kitchen. If you're in the area, this is a must-stop for both breakfast and lunch.
Brisas Elmora - Bakery & Restaurant
985 S Elmora Ave, Elizabeth
(908) 662-2200
Moisés Rozario
Brisas Elmora - Bakery & Restaurant is a fantastic spot for breakfast in Elizabeth. The food is always fresh, hot, and beautifully presented. The chicharron appetizer with guacamole is a standout, with its perfect crispiness and fresh guac. Their salads are also delicious and offer great value for the presentation and portion size. The mango smoothie was a tasty treat. I celebrated my 21st birthday here, and the staff made the experience so sweet and attentive. I highly recommend this place, especially if you're looking for authentic Colombian flavors. The Sunday brunch is a must-try; the staff is incredibly friendly, making you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The bandeja paisa is a highlight, with generous portions that leave you satisfied. Whether it’s for a casual meal or a special occasion, this place is worth a visit.
Noches de Colombia Elizabeth
545 Bayway, Elizabeth
(908) 353-7000
Mario H Alexander
I had a great experience at Noches de Colombia in Elizabeth. The overall vibe and service were really nice, and I loved the live music they have until 10:00 pm on Thursdays. It adds a special touch to the dining experience. The food was decent, but I did notice a $10 difference when upgrading from a "paisita" with "regular" steak to "paisita con churrasquito." It would be helpful if they mentioned that upfront. Parking was convenient with plenty of street options, and the in-house bakery was a nice bonus. I ordered the paisa plate, and while the meat was a bit hard, the rest of the food was okay. One thing to be aware of is the automatic service fee they add, regardless of your party size. It was 18%, which I found a bit high, especially since tipping should be based on the service received. I usually leave a 20% tip anyway, but it should feel voluntary. Despite that, when I visited the Woodbridge location, the tip wasn't included, which I appreciated. The food there was excellent, with great flavors and generous portions. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our group of seven, and the ambiance was fantastic. The music and atmosphere really made for an enjoyable afternoon.
Parador Rojo Restaurant
582 Morris Ave, Elizabeth
(908) 469-5021
Millicent Moellering
Parador Rojo Restaurant in Elizabeth offers an excellent breakfast experience. The food quality is outstanding, especially the steak, which is both succulent and flavorful. The chimichurri sauce pairs perfectly with it. My colleagues were also pleased with their choices, including steaks and fried fish. The portions are generous, leaving everyone satisfied. The staff is friendly and professional, from the host to the servers. Our meals and drinks were served promptly, making for a smooth dining experience. One of our servers, Mauricio, was particularly attentive, and Diana Pineda went above and beyond to make my mom's birthday memorable. The live music, although a bit loud, was enjoyable and didn't hinder our conversations. The performer was talented and sang classic songs that many of us appreciated. The restaurant is spacious, with both outdoor seating and a second floor. Valet parking is a great convenience for those who have trouble finding a spot nearby. I highly recommend this restaurant for family gatherings. Despite the distance, I would visit more often if I could. The food is fantastic, the drinks are impressive, and the ambiance is just right. The non-alcoholic piña colada and freshly squeezed lemonade are delicious. While the broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots were bland, the proteins, rice, and beans were delightful. I found this place on Instagram and I'm glad we went. From start to finish, everyone was friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back.
Tropicana Diner and Bakery
545 Morris Ave, Elizabeth
(908) 351-7775
Martin Moreno
Tropicana Diner and Bakery is a gem when it comes to breakfast in Elizabeth. This place is massive, with a huge menu that covers everything from burgers to breakfast. We had a fantastic meal with burgers, sandwiches, and breakfast items, all of which were delicious. The coffee hit the spot, too. Finding parking was a breeze thanks to their large lot, and getting a seat was no problem at all given the diner’s spacious layout. The kids' menu was a nice touch, and the high chairs and coloring mats kept the little ones entertained. The service was efficient, and while we did encounter a small issue with our bill, the waiter handled it well—just a good reminder to always double-check receipts. The fresh veggies in my eggs were a highlight, and my daughter raved about the turkey club. Everything tasted great, and the atmosphere was just right. It's definitely a spot I'll return to whenever I'm in town. Plus, the variety of Hispanic options is a bonus. It’s a Jersey diner, so while the decor is simple, the food and service truly stand out.
Seaport Diner
798 Dowd Ave, Elizabeth
(908) 351-4510
Sarah Lamositele
I always enjoy stopping by Seaport Diner for breakfast whenever I'm near Newark Airport. The ambiance is what you'd expect from a diner—nothing fancy but definitely comfortable and nostalgic. The highlight for me is the Big Texas Breakfast Sandwich. It's a massive, delicious combination of eggs, sausage, bacon, cheese, and potatoes packed between perfectly butter-fried white bread. Pair it with a side of hash browns, and it's a breakfast that never disappoints. For those who prefer a meat-free option, the spinach and feta omelet with grits is a solid choice. The menu caters well to kids too, which is a bonus if you're dining with family. The coffee is pretty good, and the portions are generous, all at a reasonable price. Plus, it's just five minutes from the airport with easy parking, making it super convenient for a quick stop. The table service here is top-notch. On my first visit, the waitress, Cynthia, really went above and beyond, making the experience feel like the good old days. The staff is always friendly and attentive, refilling my coffee right when I need it. It's these little touches that make the diner feel like home. I've been back multiple times and have explored more of their menu. Their tuna melt and cold brew tea are fantastic, and the food is always hot and fresh. Everything is made to order, which I appreciate. The owner is also very welcoming, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Seaport Diner is a place I keep returning to, and I plan to try their lunch menu eventually. It's a classic spot with great service, and you really can't go wrong with a meal here, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Delicious food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere keep me coming back again and again.

Monika Nakagawa
I've been a loyal customer of this establishment since its days as COSTA DE ORO, and the food continues to impress me with its authentic and delicious flavors. The taste is consistently on point, showcasing the skill and dedication that goes into each dish. The place is clean and offers a comfortable dining experience where you don't feel cramped. The owner is always welcoming and friendly, adding to the positive atmosphere. While the prices might seem a bit high, especially for items like the skirt steak, I find that dining in offers the best value for the quality of food you receive. The Lomo Saltado, whether you choose chicken or beef, is a standout dish. Although I had a recent hiccup with my order, the overall experience remains enjoyable. This spot has always been a go-to for me, and I recommend checking your food before leaving if you're getting takeout—just to ensure everything's perfect. It's a wonderful location for those who appreciate a good meal in a pleasant setting.
Coffee House
1089 Elizabeth Ave, Elizabeth
(908) 469-5950
Michael Morrison
Coffee House for breakfast in Elizabeth is a charming spot that immediately caught my attention with its cute and inviting atmosphere. The staff was very considerate throughout my visit, which made the experience even more pleasant. I tried the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. While the caramel latte was a tad too sweet for my taste, I think it was because I didn't adjust the order. Despite this, I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in the area. This was my first visit, and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was inside, as I often passed by without knowing. The food was good, the seating comfortable, and the decor lovely. Overall, it’s a nice spot to grab breakfast, and I look forward to visiting again.

Pamela Perez Zacarias
Went in for breakfast at IHOP, and it turned out to be an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We were seated quickly, and our server, Daniel from the morning shift, truly made our visit special. He was extremely personable and attentive, ensuring our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. We ordered avocado toast with eggs and bacon, strawberry banana pancakes, and blueberry pancakes. The food was tasty and well-prepared. The pancakes were fluffy and full of flavor, with a great selection of syrups to try. I also had a classic breakfast combo with perfectly cooked eggs, crispy turkey bacon, and golden hash browns. Every bite was delicious, and the care in preparation was evident. The surprise of the day was how it wasn't crowded, even on the weekend. Overall, breakfast at IHOP was a fantastic start to the day, thanks to Daniel's exceptional service and the delectable food. I highly recommend visiting this location for a satisfying meal and a friendly atmosphere!
The Skyline Diner
789 Dowd Ave, Elizabeth
(908) 351-1773
Lizvette Villalva
The Skyline Diner offers a delicious breakfast experience that truly captures the authentic New Jersey diner vibe. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with fries, and it was fantastic. The portions were generous, and every bite was packed with flavor—the corned beef was tender, the cheese melty, and the rye bread perfectly toasty. The open-face presentation, along with crunchy pickles and sauerkraut, was a unique touch that made the meal special. My family enjoyed sunny-side-up eggs with crispy bacon and pancakes, and they couldn’t stop raving about how delicious everything was. The diner's location is ideal, especially if you need a meal near Newark airport. The service was prompt and friendly, and the food came out hot and fresh. The classic New Jersey diner atmosphere, complete with leather booths and bar seating, added to the experience. Despite its somewhat shabby exterior, this place serves up some of the best food around. My family, visiting from Mississippi, had a variety of dishes, from a chicken and mushroom melt with fries to a Mexican omelette with potatoes and pita bread. Everything was amazing, and the portions were so generous we needed to-go boxes. This diner is conveniently located off the highway, near hotels and a mall. The staff is courteous, and the 24-hour service is impressive. With a vast menu, great portions, and reasonable prices, it’s a place worth visiting again. Just steer clear of the fettuccine Alfredo—it was not up to par. But for everything else, The Skyline Diner is a winning choice for anyone looking for a satisfying meal.
IHOP

Zee Kinzr
I've visited this IHOP several times for breakfast and overall, my experiences have been quite positive. The food is always good, and considering the large portions, the prices are reasonable. I was particularly impressed with the omelette I ordered—it turned out to be much larger and tastier than I expected. The service is generally good, with most of the staff showing genuine interest in customers' needs. Jocelyn, one of the waitresses, stood out with her friendly and attentive service, ensuring that our table had everything we needed, even on a busy day. The restroom was clean and smelled nice, which is always a plus. While I've encountered some staff who seemed less enthusiastic, these instances haven't overshadowed the overall good experience. The quality of the food is the main reason I keep coming back. My eggs were cooked to perfection, and the staff accommodated our requests with drinks and menu items. It's a pleasant place to enjoy a meal, and I would recommend giving it a try.
