Roundhouse Deli
8450 Elk Grove Blvd Suite 200, Elk Grove

Matt Quintavalle
I go to Roundhouse Deli often for breakfast because it's conveniently located near my work in Elk Grove. My usual order is the veggie burrito with added tri-tip, and it's always been a big, satisfying meal. To my surprise, I had an off experience last Saturday when my $14 burrito fell short of expectations in terms of portion size and contents, missing potatoes and smaller than usual. Despite this recent hiccup, Roundhouse Deli has been my go-to for three years, consistently delivering delicious and large breakfast burritos with tender tri-tip. Their tacos, especially the tri-tip versions, are quite tasty, and while they don't surpass the originals in Roseville, they're enjoyable. I've also tried the hot pastrami sandwich, and it's a solid choice. Their potato salad is simple yet amazing, without being overloaded with veggies. The hot sauce is excellent, adding just the right kick to their offerings. Even though this last visit wasn't great, I've always appreciated the efficient service and delicious food they provide. Highly recommend checking them out!
Rescate Coffee
2475 Elk Grove Blvd #160, Elk Grove

Vernell Hernandez
I had a great experience at Rescate Coffee for breakfast in Elk Grove. The atmosphere was lovely and the place had a nice, quiet vibe, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee. I tried their cappuccino, and it was delicious. The blueberry muffin I ordered was quite good too, though it would have been even better if it had been served warm as I requested. The staff was friendly, and the service overall was good. It's such a cozy spot to relax, have a chat, and enjoy your coffee. The café could benefit from a bit more attention to tidiness, as there were some crumbs around the tables, but it didn’t take away from the positive atmosphere. It’s a charming little place to start the day, and I’m looking forward to going back.
Mel Dog's Cafe
9766 Waterman Rd Ste B, Elk Grove
(916) 686-4615
Andres Juancho
Mel Dog's Cafe is a hidden gem for breakfast in Elk Grove that's definitely worth the drive. Tucked away in a business park, this place serves up delicious diner fare quickly and efficiently. The atmosphere is homey and welcoming, with regulars clearly enjoying their morning routine and the servers knowing them by name, which adds a nice touch. The menu is large and varied, featuring plenty of familiar breakfast items. You wouldn't expect to find such a great spot in this area, but it's truly the definition of a wholesome breakfast diner. The staff is friendly, and the portions are generous, with food that really hits the spot. The pancakes, in particular, are massive and delightful, proving that you're in for a good meal. Though the restaurant is on the smaller side and can get busy on weekends, a little patience goes a long way. It's not the place for a rushed meal; rather, it's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy good company and comforting food. Overall, Mel Dog's Cafe is a must-visit for anyone looking for a classic breakfast experience.
Kacie's Donut Lounge
2745 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove
(916) 684-7880
Jorge Lanka
Walking into Kacie's Donut Lounge was a delightful way to start my morning. The aroma of freshly baked goods and coffee instantly made me feel at home. The croissants are absolutely delicious, and although the menu doesn’t list vegetarian options, they were happy to make a croissant sandwich with just egg—no ham or sausage needed. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and comforting. This family-run spot has a warm and welcoming vibe. The staff, especially Sophia, were friendly and attentive. She carefully packed each donut into our pink box and even included an extra donut, which was a lovely surprise. The donuts themselves were truly mouth-watering. The buttermilk old-fashioned and donut holes were exceptional, with a perfect melt-in-your-mouth texture. Make sure you get there early so you can have your pick from their fantastic selection. There’s limited seating because most people grab their order to go. Plus, it's conveniently located near Highway 5, making it an easy stop on your way to work or heading out for the day. Although there's no restroom, the shop's charm and the quality of the food more than make up for it. I also tried the bagel sandwich, which was both tasty and reasonably priced compared to other places. Don’t forget to try their house-made hot sauce for an extra kick. Overall, Kacie's Donut Lounge offers great service, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere that makes you want to come back for more.
Chick-fil-A
8430 Bond Rd, Elk Grove
(916) 714-0744
Nancy Bast Davis
The drive-thru team at Chick-fil-A in Elk Grove was fantastic. We were in and out in just 2 to 3 minutes, which was super impressive. The new Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich is absolutely delicious and a must-try. Thanks to Chick-fil-A's January freebies, I got to try the egg white grill and some other breakfast items, and I'm so glad I did. I've returned several times since, and I've loved it each time. I do wish they served waffle fries during breakfast, but I get that they have other priorities. There was only one hiccup when my boyfriend ordered a spicy deluxe with bacon but got a sandwich without chicken—just bacon, lettuce, and cheese. But aside from that one-off, the restaurant has always been clean, friendly, and fast. We usually go for the chicken strips, and they never disappoint. Overall, I'm really happy with my experiences here.
18 Grams Coffee & Tea
9677 E Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove
(916) 895-2672
Sirap Spears
18 Grams Coffee & Tea in Elk Grove has become one of my go-to breakfast spots. I adore their ube coffee and the 18 grams, which is a quad shot over milk. The hazelnut coffee is good, but the other two are my favorites. On my first visit, I got a standard latte with oat milk, and my husband enjoyed his sweet iced coffee. We shared a muffin and an amazing cookie. The interior design is fantastic, creating a perfect atmosphere for studying or working, especially if you arrive early on weekends since it can get busy. The honey lavender oat milk latte is smooth and delicious, and I loved trying both the vegan and bacon burritos. For non-coffee days, I go for the Kloud 18, a creamy chamomile tea with soy milk that’s just so comforting. The mocha Thai and Yuan Yang are flavorful options if you're in the mood for coffee. The decor is lovely, the vibes are great, and there’s plenty of parking in the cute shopping center. The staff is friendly, and it's a bonus to have a restroom available. Overall, with such a wonderful selection of drinks and a welcoming atmosphere, I’ll definitely be back to enjoy more of what 18 Grams has to offer.
Bert's Diner
8972 Grant Line Rd, Elk Grove
(916) 686-6622
Massiiaa Gailor
Bert's Diner is a fun spot for breakfast with great service that makes you feel right at home. On my visit, I tried the ribs, which were a bit on the fatty side, but the flavor was spot-on and the meat I did have was tender. My companions' ribs were meaty, so I guess mine was just an off batch. Despite that, I'll definitely come back to try something else on the menu. My bacon, eggs, and pancakes were tasty, and my wife's pork chops had a good flavor too, even if they were a bit tough. The diner has a charming old-fashioned vibe with jukeboxes at the booths, adding to the experience. While the place could use a deep clean, including the bathrooms, the overall atmosphere is enjoyable. Service was a bit on the slower side, with a few missing essentials like silverware and butter for the pancakes and toast, but the staff was friendly and helpful when asked. Prices are reasonable, and the menu offers a wide selection to choose from. The salads and hamburgers are particularly good, and there are specials every weekday. We had a fun time and it's definitely a place we'd consider revisiting.
Original Mikes Diner

Lynette Paulino
On a road trip back home, we stumbled upon Original Mike's Diner in Elk Grove thanks to a quick Google search, and it was exactly what we needed. This classic 50's style diner immediately felt familiar and inviting. The menu is extensive, offering a variety of dishes, and while it may not be gourmet, the food is satisfying and hits the spot. The service was friendly and efficient, which added to the overall positive experience. I ordered a New York strip steak and a root beer float, both of which were delicious. The atmosphere is a charming blast from the past, complete with jukeboxes at nearly every table, making it a fun and nostalgic stop. Though it can get busy during peak hours with possible wait times of about 30 minutes, the experience is well worth it. With good food, reasonable prices, and a welcoming staff, this diner never disappoints. I'm definitely planning to stop here again and will be recommending it to family and friends. It's a great spot with a chill vibe, much like an IHOP or Denny's, but with a unique 50's twist.
Huckleberry's Breakfast & Lunch
2745 Elk Grove Blvd #250, Elk Grove

Tamika Jimenez
At 7 am, my friend and I had Huckleberry's Breakfast & Lunch in Elk Grove all to ourselves. It was a perfect start to the day. I ordered two eggs with bacon, and the portions were generous and tasty. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was top-notch. Jaz, our server, was incredible—one of the best I’ve ever had in 30 years of dining. He was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The Red Velvet Pancakes are worth stopping by for, and the overall food quality is impressive, reminding me of southern comfort without the crawdads. The place is clean with cleverly designed tables that offer privacy, which is a nice touch. While the seasoning could be a bit more pronounced, it doesn't detract much from the experience. The reasonable prices and quick service make it a fantastic breakfast option, especially if you can avoid peak times. Huckleberry's is truly a gem, and I find myself coming back often, sometimes even daily, just for the food and to see Jaz. If you visit, definitely ask for him. You won’t be disappointed.
Jamie’s Cafe
9101 Laguna Main St, Elk Grove
(916) 667-3865
Oscar Yola
Breakfast at Jamie’s Cafe in Elk Grove was a great experience. The French toast, fried to perfection, was a delightful surprise. The steak and veggies omelette hit all the right notes. They offer a few different flavors for mimosas, although the cups are on the smaller side. The interior is spacious, and despite a busy Sunday morning, our server ensured we were well taken care of. The wait was short, just about five minutes, and there's also outdoor seating that adds to the welcoming atmosphere. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. I definitely plan on returning and highly recommend stopping by. Jamie's Cafe is easy to miss on Laguna Boulevard, but it's worth the trip. The service is prompt, and the place is clean and cozy. I visited around noon on a Saturday when it was quite busy, but the staff was friendly and attentive. I enjoyed the chorizo burrito with tater tots, especially with the ketchup and Cholula hot sauce available at the table. I'll certainly visit again, perhaps at a quieter time.
Black Bear Diner Elk Grove
8531 Bond Rd, Elk Grove

Kim Cruz
I visited the Black Bear Diner in Elk Grove for breakfast and had a fantastic experience. Although I've been to other Black Bear Diners and loved them, this location stood out for its exceptional customer service. When my food wasn't up to my expectations, Alia and the team acted quickly to make it right. Her friendly attitude really made the visit special. The portions are enormous! I’ve never seen so much food on a plate at any diner. Whether you’re in the mood for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, there’s something for everyone. I had the veggie omelette, which was delicious and filling. My mom ordered a taco salad, and the serving size was incredible—a real taco bucket! The atmosphere is friendly and ideal for families, and the bear cabin decor adds a charming touch. Every time I've visited, the staff has been prompt and pleasant. The assistant manager was attentive, and we appreciated the extra napkins and water refills without even having to ask. If you're in the Sacramento area and have a big appetite, Black Bear Diner in Elk Grove is a must-visit. Whether you're extra hungry or want to take some leftovers home, this place won’t disappoint. We’ll definitely be back!
Ginelle's Bakery
9015 Bruceville Rd #120, Elk Grove

Duy Itallso
I just have to share my experience at Ginelle's Bakery for breakfast in Elk Grove. I tried the cream cheese roll, and let me tell you, it was the BEST roll I have ever had. I was expecting something plain, but it was so much more. I had gotten a similar cream cheese roll from another place for the same price, and it didn't come close. Ginelle's quality is unbeatable. I'm definitely coming back next week for more, especially for the cream cheese jalapeño roll. I love this place, and the name is awesome too! We tried about six different pastries, and everything was delicious. We meant to just get a sampler, but now I'm eyeing the coconut flan for another visit. The bakery sits in a strip mall, and the entrance might be a bit odd, but just follow your GPS. The Spanish rolls were great, and the cheese rolls were fantastic as well. But, I need to mention that they keep their meat at room temperature. I tried a pork bun early in the morning, thinking it would be safe, but I ended up with an upset stomach. My partner also didn't feel well after trying a meat item. It tasted good, but dealing with the discomfort wasn't worth it. Overall, though, I love Ginelle's Bakery for their pastries, and I'll definitely be back for more of their amazing treats.
BAD Bakers Elk Grove

Dimeinique Alexy
When I walked into BAD Bakers Elk Grove for breakfast, I was immediately greeted by a sweet woman who made me feel welcome. She asked if it was my first time visiting, and upon hearing it was, she generously offered me a sample of their famous staxx bread. This Spanish roll was hot, fresh, and tasted amazing. The variety of choices was almost overwhelming, but in the best way possible. One standout feature is that you can choose from four different types of fillings for your donut, adding a fun twist to the experience. Overall, it's a 10 out of 10 for me. The freshness and warmth of the donuts are unmatched, although I felt there was a small something missing, but nothing that would stop me from returning. The star bread was a true highlight—it was so good I ate far too many at once but have no regrets. The jalapeño and cheese bread was also delicious, though I can't quite remember its exact name. The customer service was fantastic, with the young woman assisting us being both friendly and helpful. Although I came all the way from Stockton just for the bread, it was worth it. I even brought some staxx back for friends, and they loved it too. This place is a real gem, and I will definitely be back for more!
Stagecoach Restaurant
8713 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove
(916) 685-7803
Yara Geaghan
When I stopped by Stagecoach Restaurant in Elk Grove for breakfast, I had a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating, especially when my mom, who uses a walker-chair, needed special seating. Despite the place being packed, they found us a spot within 10-15 minutes, and the quick service was impressive. Our food arrived promptly, and everything was served at the right temperature. The flavors were enjoyable, and the plates were empty by the end of our meal. The atmosphere reminded me of eating at a dear friend's house, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. Chatting with other guests who frequently visit Stagecoach confirmed that the food is consistently good. While I felt some dishes could use a bit more seasoning, the home-cooked feel of the meal made it satisfying, with decent portion sizes. Overall, Stagecoach is a reliable spot for a hearty breakfast, clean environment, and excellent customer service. I'd happily recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a welcoming place to enjoy a meal.
Panera Bread
8519 Bond Rd #106, Elk Grove
(916) 714-2556
Brian Aberick
I had breakfast at Panera Bread in Elk Grove and overall, it was a positive experience. The line was long, with only one cashier, but I used the kiosk to order, which was easy and convenient. The waiting area with the TV screen was a bit different, but manageable. The restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was pleasant, with free WiFi and a nice gas fireplace. The food was delicious - I particularly enjoyed the chipotle chicken avocado sandwich and the tomato cucumber basil salad. Their marketing with the free drink for a month was smart; it got me coming back for more food. While the prices are a bit high, and the flavors of some items could be improved, the overall experience is good. Customer service was a plus, and I appreciate the cleanliness of the place. Overall, Panera Bread in Elk Grove makes for a great breakfast spot.
The Waffle Experience Elk Grove
8351 Elk Grove Blvd Suit 100, Elk Grove
Amadeo Gupta
The Waffle Experience in Elk Grove is a fantastic spot for breakfast. From the servers to the food, everything is top-notch. I've always been picky about my eggs Benedict, and this place nails it every time, except for one minor slip-up, which they fixed without any hassle. The sauce is always perfect, and their pork belly is spot on. You've got to try their Bloody Marys too—especially with the pork belly or the waffle BLT. Initially, I thought it was just about waffles, but it's truly a complete breakfast experience. This place is a hidden gem. My friend and I were looking for a spot with both savory and sweet options, and this place was perfect. We went around 10 a.m., and there was ample parking. Inside, it was lively and bustling. There was a bit of a wait to be seated, but it went by quickly. Unfortunately, they were out of pork belly that day. I ended up ordering the Ribeye Scramble and the Strawberry Waffle, while my friend got the Peach Cobbler Waffle Special and Avocado Toast. The waffles blew me away with their perfect crispiness and flavor balance. The Ribeye Scramble was flavorful too, with tender ribeye and delectable potatoes. The experience was excellent overall, but I did feel a bit rushed as they asked for our order soon after we sat down. Still, the food was seasoned perfectly, and I didn't need to add a thing. The eggs Benedict with pork belly on a waffle was unforgettable. I'll definitely be back. Many waffle places have one or two standout items, but here, everything hits the mark. Plus, it's close to home. The server was friendly and accommodating, even remaking my wife's eggs when they accidentally had syrup on them. One small note: they charge a 3% fee for card payments, labeled under taxes, and it might be helpful if they let diners know upfront. I'm already planning my next visit for their fresh Bloody Mary. Last October, we met a lovely couple who visits every year for the Aftershock festival and gave us great tips on what to try. The owner is hilarious, running the kitchen and making drinks, adding to the whole experience. I can't wait to have those herb waffles again.
La Bou Bakery & Cafe
8694 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove
(916) 686-4672
Jose Salerno
The food at La Bou Bakery & Cafe in Elk Grove is simply fantastic. The fresh-baked breads are a highlight, and their soups and sandwiches offer good value for the price. I especially loved the sourdough croissant – it was light, fluffy, and perfectly crispy. The egg and bacon inside were cooked just right, making it a delicious breakfast option. The atmosphere is welcoming, with self-serve coffee and tea available once you’ve paid, and free water. The staff here are some of the best in Elk Grove. They clearly enjoy their work and make every visitor feel appreciated, whether you're a customer or a delivery driver. Good service goes a long way in enhancing the dining experience. Parking is always convenient, which is another plus. While I did experience some confusion with the hours being different than what was listed online, it doesn’t take away from the fact that this place is one of my favorites for breakfast. The employees seem genuinely happy, which is important to me, and their delicious pastries are a delightful bonus. If you're looking for great food and service in Elk Grove, I can't recommend La Bou Bakery & Cafe enough.
Denny's

Hasan Hgtrrz
I had breakfast at Denny's in Elk Grove, and it was a great experience. My server, Diana, was fantastic—you could really tell she loves her job. The food was delicious, especially the Santa Fe skillet, which was hot and tasty. The atmosphere was enhanced by an oldies playlist that really added to the experience. The burger and fries were cooked perfectly; you could taste the love in it. Despite many visits to different Denny’s locations, this one stands out as the best. We were seated right away, though the food did take a little while to arrive. Our server, Elemen, was pleasant and attentive. Overall, it was a 10 out of 10, and I’m definitely coming back for more. A+!
The Meltdown
8707 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove
Jacques Allen
During our stay in Elk Grove, we decided to give The Meltdown a try for breakfast, despite hearing mixed reviews. To our delight, the experience was a pleasant surprise. We ordered through Postmates, and our food arrived promptly, still hot and fresh. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious, with generous portions and flavorful combinations that satisfied our morning cravings. The service was efficient, and the staff ensured everything was prepared to our liking. It made for a fantastic start to our day, and honestly, I wish there were a Meltdown closer to us in NE Illinois. The convenience, quality, and taste exceeded our expectations, making it a memorable breakfast experience.
