I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Metro Diner for breakfast in Gainesville and wholeheartedly recommend it. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help, making the atmosphere cozy and comfortable. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, which added to the pleasant dining experience. Service was decent, albeit a bit slow at times due to the restaurant's popularity, but that's understandable. I loved having the option of enjoying dinner for breakfast. I tried the Friday Fish Fry early in the morning, and it was delicious. The Charleston shrimp and grits were more than I could finish, with extra-large shrimp and grits fried in large squares—a unique and enjoyable twist. My husband had the Metro Club sandwich, which was substantial and delicious. It came loaded with turkey, ham, and bacon, and he devoured the whole thing. The diner has a charming, updated retro vibe. Seating inside is a bit tight, but they also offer covered outdoor seating. Overall, the service was quick, and our waiter was very nice. Metro Diner serves breakfast all day, and I noticed many diners enjoying breakfast dishes during our lunch. Everyone in my group was happy with their meal, and I'm sure I'll be back for more.

We had the pleasure of dining at the new First Watch in Gainesville on Archer Road, and it truly lived up to our expectations. My elevated egg sandwich and million dollar bacon were absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked—kept me full all day. The restaurant itself has a cozy farmhouse vibe with a charming breakfast bar, which added to the experience. We had to bring our pets along as we were traveling, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Vera, our server, was sweet and engaging, while Cliff, the general manager, also stopped by, showing great hospitality. The food was phenomenal; everything ran smoothly, despite being opening day. Bagel Bakery in Gainesville is such an awesome locally owned shop! The bagels here are incredible, and as a cream cheese lover, I can confirm their cream cheese is legit. The garlic bagel was loaded with flavor from top to bottom, and it was absolutely delicious. Their coffee is sustainably sourced and very tasty, making it a great breakfast spot. Service was quick, and the staff were super friendly, which made my visit enjoyable. I tried the breakfast sandwich, the bagel and lox, and a pistachio muffin, all of which were fantastic. At first, the atmosphere seemed a bit busy, and the order and pay processes felt a little chaotic and unorganized, but the friendly staff turned that first impression around. I got a plain bagel with cream cheese to get a feel for the basics. While the bagel itself didn't impress me, the plain cream cheese was excellent. I'm excited to return and try more exotic bagels and cream cheeses. The place has a funky and friendly vibe, and they offer a wide range of sandwiches and treats. I especially loved the garden vegetable sandwich on focaccia and grabbed some chocolate and pistachio muffins to go. Bagel Bakery is definitely worth a visit!

During my visit to Flaco's in Gainesville for breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The tacos were flavorful and the bread fresh, making for a delicious meal. The Cuban sandwiches were warm and crispy, definitely some of the best Cuban food I've had, possibly the best in Gainesville. The prices were reasonable, and the portion sizes were satisfying. It's also convenient that they're open late, making it a great spot to visit after a night out. My boyfriend enjoyed the nachos with Ropa vieja and buffalo, which quickly became a favorite of mine too. The service was standard, but I appreciated that they quickly provided extra chips when we asked. While the atmosphere is more casual and the setting small and cute, it's important to note that the place can feel a bit sketchy at times. The bathroom could use some attention, and the wait can be long if it's busy. However, the free parking during the day is a bonus. Overall, despite a few quirks, Flaco's offers a good experience with delicious food and is a place I would recommend for the Cuban dishes and the overall value.

Our food arrived within 15 minutes of ordering, which was impressive given how busy it was. The food was pretty good. While the country fried steak could have been thicker, and the pancake was a bit heavy, the hash browns were delightful. The biscuit was slightly dry and burnt, but the buster was flavorful, though a bit more meat would have been appreciated for the price. I appreciated the option to have tomato slices instead of bread, a fresh alternative that hit the spot. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but not unreasonable. The place lived up to the hype with high-quality food and service. My partner and I are regulars, visiting weekly, and we've always had a wonderful experience. The specials are creative, the service attentive, and the premises are kept very clean. It might be a tad pricey for a diner, but the overall experience makes it worth it. While the food might not be the most impressive at times, the creativity in the menu and specials keeps us coming back. The biscuit was heavenly, and the side of grits came in a huge, piping hot bowl. Easily the best breakfast I've had in a long time! Luis, our server, was attentive and always had a great smile. There was also a man checking in on everyone, possibly the manager or owner, who was very kind. The prices are more than fair, and even though I usually hesitate to share my favorite spots for fear they'll get too busy, this place deserves the recognition. I'll definitely be back! The food is exactly how you'd want it—cooked to perfection, reminiscent of how Nana used to make it. Everything from the omelette to the biscuits and gravy was delicious, with the sausage gravy having a unique and flavorful seasoning. The place might not look like much from the outside, but the breakfast was incredible. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted, making us feel right at home. The menu is full of amazing options, and the service is friendly and fast. It's a real diner experience, family-run with food cooked right in front of you on the griddle. Everything is fresh and delicious, and their welcoming nature makes the food taste even better. For me, this diner is comfort food at its best. They genuinely care about their customers and want you to enjoy your meal, which is a refreshing change from impersonal chain restaurants. 10 out of 10, I highly recommend it.

I absolutely loved my breakfast at Humble Wood Fire Bagel Shop in Gainesville. The gluten-free bagel was spot on with its consistency—not grainy like the usual store-bought options. The vegan cheddar cheese was a highlight, with great flavor and texture. I first visited Humble Wood Fire a few years ago and was charmed by the neighborhood vibe of the plaza. The service was a bit slow, but the staff was pleasant. Although the prices were higher than average, the selection was unique and intriguing. Back then, my wife and I enjoyed our bagels. This morning, I decided to visit Humble Wood Fire again instead of my usual local spot. The long line at 9:15 on a Sunday was a positive sign of quality being maintained. As expected, the service was slow, staff friendly, and the prices remained on the higher side; but the varied selection was enticing. However, after placing my order, the wait was lengthy. Despite the estimated wait time being shown as 5 to 10 minutes, I ended up leaving without my bagel after 55 minutes. The staff was courteous throughout, and I understand staffing can be an issue. However, updating the wait time to be more accurate would have helped. Although disappointed with the wait, I don’t blame the staff entirely. The pleasant atmosphere and promising food keep this from being a one-star experience. Despite my morning not going as planned, there’s a potential here that keeps drawing in customers. Plus, you can’t beat the chill, central location and the quality of the food itself when things go smoothly.

I had a bagel in Brooklyn yesterday, and then I tried Luke's today. Luke's was better. That alone says a lot, but let me add that their bagels are incredible. They’re perfectly firm on the outside and deliciously doughy on the inside. Having lived in NYC for 7 years, Luke's is now my go-to spot in Gainesville. I will definitely be back. I've visited Luke's Bagels several times and the food quality is consistently great. The bread is always fresh, and the toppings are generous and tasty, making for a satisfying meal. It's true that there's a bit of a wait for sandwiches and there's no seating, but the bagels are absolutely worth it. They've quickly become some of the best bagels I've ever had, even compared to NYC's offerings. If you're in Gainesville, you need to try their bagel sandwiches. Just come early before they start running out of flavors. Highly recommend!

The Flying Biscuit Cafe in Gainesville is a fantastic spot for breakfast. The food is excellent, especially the waffles with peach compote, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. Our waitress was super friendly, making our visit even more enjoyable. They have a variety of gluten-free and vegan options, which is a big plus. The atmosphere was lively, and though it was a bit loud, the playful decor made up for it. The grits were a standout for me. I tried the cheese grits and, although they were white instead of yellow, they were packed with cheesy goodness. The stuffed French toast was amazing, and the biscuits were the best I've ever had in a restaurant. I also enjoyed the shrimp and grits small plate, which was very tasty. It was my husband and my first visit, having come from Ocala, and we were blown away by the hangover hash, chorizo hash, and shrimp and grits. The portions were just right, and the flavors were spot on. The biscuits with sugar on top were a delightful surprise, and their jam was delicious. My pumpkin spice latte was perfect, even though it's not in season. We definitely need a Flying Biscuit Cafe in Ocala! I can't wait to go back.

The atmosphere was cozy and cool, making it a perfect place to take your family. The chocolate chip waffles had a nice texture and flavor, and the grits and eggs with toast were good too. Portions were perfect, and our server was attentive and kind. We found this little gem around noon, and even though they serve lunch too, we opted for breakfast. I had the Turtle Stuffed French Toast, which was so rich I could only eat half, while my husband enjoyed blueberry pancakes with link sausages. The pancakes were loaded with yummy blueberries, and we ended up with some tasty leftovers. The entire staff was friendly, and we’re definitely planning to return to try the lunch menu soon.

I got a Bún bò Huế delivered from Bagels & Noodles in Gainesville, and it was delicious. The pork and beef were fatty, tender, and delicious. The broth was savory with just the right amount of spice. The veggies were fresh, and the noodles were springy and filling. My only small critique would be that it could use a bit more sourness, but that's really nitpicking for such an amazing dish. I returned to try more, and this spot definitely deserves a 5-star rating. It's a hidden gem in Gainesville. I started with the fried dumplings and a soup, and the Ruben sandwich ended up being my favorite. The Pad Thai was also excellent, with a good mix of flavors. Each dish was executed perfectly, and the quality was consistent across the menu. Despite being a busy Saturday morning, and running out of many bagels, which did cause a bit of order confusion, the food was still great. The bagels are perfect for sandwiches, and while the eggs are just okay, it’s still a good meal, especially for the low price, making it perfect for college students. The fried pork dumplings are the best I've ever had, and the eggel bagel sandwich is fantastic, with the everything bagel offering great flavor. This might be one of the best restaurants I've experienced.

HASS Kitchen in Gainesville, near the University of Florida, is a hidden gem that might not catch your eye at first glance, but it’s definitely worth a visit. The food and service are outstanding, with a friendly and attentive staff that makes you feel welcome. The lattes are a must-try, especially the crème brûlée latte, which was deliciously smooth and rich. The billion dollar bacon was spicy and flavorful, though a bit pricey for a few thick slices. I loved the emphasis on hass avocados featured in most of their dishes. The avocado fries were tasty, although a little more seasoning could take them up a notch. My croque madame was delightful, and my partner thoroughly enjoyed his spicy chicken and avocado stuffed waffles. Although the prices are on the higher side, making our total $70 with tip, the unique and upscale breakfast experience justified the cost. They also offer their sourdough bread for $7, which is a tasty addition to any meal. Despite it being quiet when we visited at 9am on a Saturday, this place deserves to be known. Everyone in our group was more than satisfied with their meals; we had an array of dishes, including Shakshuka, a hash bowl, steak and eggs, and chicken and waffles—all leaving clean plates behind. This little restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, so there’s room for everyone to find a cozy spot. I highly recommend checking out this amazing breakfast spot where everyone can find a dish they love. It’s a fantastic place with a wonderful staff, and I look forward to returning soon!

Had my daughter’s birthday brunch at Original American Kitchen in Gainesville with a party of nine, and we had a fantastic experience. We had a reservation and were seated immediately in a nice and open space, though it was a bit warm inside. We started with two biscuit apps, and they were amazing—perfectly done in the gravy. Most of us ordered smash burgers for lunch, which were good, albeit pretty standard. The generous portion of fries was a nice touch. The country fried steak and breakfast tacos were also enjoyable. The girls in our group loved the bottomless mimosas, and our server, Kaci, was excellent, making sure we had a great time. I was skeptical after reading mixed reviews, but I’m glad we gave this place a try. The service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was superb, aside from a faint smell when walking in, which wasn’t a dealbreaker. The food was absolutely fantastic. We tried a variety of dishes, and each one was impressive. The pretzel with artichoke dip had a perfect balance of cheese and salt, and the pretzel itself was great even on its own. The jalapeño poppers were crispy with the right amount of spiciness, and the fried tomato sliders were a must-try. My one complaint is wanting more tomato and less bread, but the buttery buns were worth talking about. The filet mignon dinner was divine, with melt-in-your-mouth flavors and perfectly cooked potatoes. For dessert, the pecan pie was perfection. Everything we tried was phenomenal, and the experience was made even better by our kind server. We’ll definitely be returning. If you enjoy bottomless mimosas, this is your spot. I stopped by Maple Street Biscuit Company in Gainesville at Butler Plaza for lunch around 1pm before heading out of town, and I was really impressed. I got the 6 tender meal, which included a biscuit, maple chips, and three sauces. The service was fantastic—fun, friendly, and quick. Even though Chick-fil-A next door had a long line, there was hardly any wait at Maple Street. They called out my order by my favorite childhood film, which was a fun touch. It took about 15 minutes for my food to come out, but it was worth it. The tenders were moist and big, with a nicely crunchy outside. The maple chips were fresh and hot, and the maple flavor was phenomenal. The biscuit was large and way better than any prepackaged biscuit I've had. For around $13, it was a great value. If I return to Gainesville, I'll definitely make it a point to eat here again. This place exceeded my expectations, both in terms of customer service and food quality. The biscuits are a hit in my family; my daughter has me coming in at least twice a week to pick some up. Krystal, the manager, is exceptional—very personable and always ensures we're 100% satisfied. If you’re in Gainesville and craving comfort breakfast food, this is the spot. And no need to worry about tipping. We also had a lovely experience with Cody, who gave us excellent, friendly service. He explained how most items on the menu could be customized for our new vegan diet, which was incredibly helpful. While in Gainesville for work, my husband brought the whole crew up to visit, and we couldn't resist stopping at Cracker Barrel. This spot never disappoints with its warm atmosphere and welcoming staff. I absolutely adore their pecan pancakes—they are absolutely mouth-watering. My kids are all about the famous Grandpa’s chicken and gravy. We all enjoyed hanging out on the iconic rocking chairs out front. I highly recommend dining here; the food is consistently delicious, and the overall dining experience is pleasant. However, the RV parking area was darker than what I'm used to at other locations and was somewhat occupied by a commercial towing company. I suggest stopping here for a meal but maybe not staying overnight. The hash brown casserole shepherd's pie was okay—although not traditional shepherd's pie, it offered a unique twist with its crispy crust and savory filling. Cracker Barrel captures the essence of Southern cooking with its rustic and delicious dishes, all presented beautifully by the always friendly staff. The walls are adorned with unique and fitting decor, creating a cozy vibe. Plus, all of this is offered at a reasonable price, even with inflation. The portions were generous, and everything tasted delicious. Our waitress, Brendetta, was incredibly attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed, despite being the only one serving. The cleanliness of the restaurant, especially the bathrooms, was impressive. Bruce, the Head Chef, did an excellent job with the food preparation and presentation.
