We absolutely love Lake Highlands Cafe for breakfast in Garland! The food is fantastic, the coffee is top-notch, and the service is always outstanding. Our first visit was memorable thanks to Maddie, our waitress, and now we always request her. The menu is huge, which makes choosing difficult, but their combos let me enjoy both breakfast and dessert at once! When I went for lunch with my son, we shared an order of pancakes that came with my 2 eggs any style. He had the kids' chicken tenders and enjoyed every bite. The portions are generous and everything is so tasty. Our server, Bridgette, was sweet and attentive, making the experience even better. Every dish feels specially crafted, from the aromatic coffee to the unforgettable BBQ Bacon Burger with its tender, juicy meat and perfect BBQ sauce. My husband loved his breakfast chicken taco, and even our 3-year-old couldn't resist the pancakes, which were soft and perfectly cooked. The crepe with strawberry cream cheese was rich and smooth, a true delight. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making each visit a pleasure. I'm excited to return and try more of their menu. After running a 10k, we stopped by for brunch and were impressed with the large menu and well-prepared dishes. The portions are large and prices reasonable. The migas were solid, and the French toast was a big hit with those who ordered it. Lake Highlands Café is a gem we'll keep coming back to!

I've found an absolute gem in Garland for lunch or dinner, and I can't recommend it enough! The authentic pupusas from El Salvador are amazing. The place is clean, and the food is both tasty and reasonably priced. You can get a large fresh natural Mango juice for just $6 and pupusas for $2.99 each with options like meat, chicken, or veggies. As a traveling trucker couple, my lady and I love discovering spots like this, and we were thrilled with the experience. The staff here is incredibly welcoming and friendly, which made our visit even better. We were treated so kindly, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The pupusas were spot on, and the accompanying cabbage, carrots, and green salsa were a perfect match. Plus, enjoying a real Coca-Cola in a tall cold glass bottle was a nostalgic treat. I've had the pleasure of trying both breakfast and lunch here, and every visit has been delicious. It's refreshing to enjoy authentic Central American food with warm and friendly service. After a few years away, I finally returned to The House Cafe for breakfast in Garland, and it felt just like coming home. This place was always my go-to spot after Sunday worship at GACC before life got in the way. The Liver & Onions are a standout, perfectly seasoned and cooked to melt in your mouth, with the bonus of three delicious sides. If you're an early bird, you'll enjoy their simple yet satisfying breakfast options. The pancakes are fluffy, and the eggs and bacon hit the spot every time. The biscuits are particularly impressive, served with a tasty white gravy. I also tried the beef fajita omelet with country potatoes, which was delightful. Although the Hamburger Steak could use a bit more seasoning, the rest of the menu makes up for it. The Double Cheeseburger is a juicy hit with flavorful patties and crispy lettuce, paired with some great fries. The staff add to the experience, always kind and attentive, ensuring my drink never went empty. Overall, The House Cafe offers good food, great service, and fair prices. It’s a wonderful spot that reminds me of mom’s cooking, and I can't recommend it enough. Just make sure to get there before 1:30, as they start cleaning up after that.

My daughter and I decided to try Woodbridge Cafe for breakfast before the church crowd arrived, and it was a pleasant experience. Though it seemed like the servers were handling quite a few tables at once, our waitress did her best and ensured any mix-ups with our order were corrected. We ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken and Eggs and the Hobo Skillet, both of which offered the option of pancakes on the side. The portions were generous and well-priced. The Chicken Fried Chicken had great flavor and texture, and our over-medium eggs were cooked perfectly. While the bacon was crispy, it could have used a bit more bacon flavor. The pancakes were delightfully fluffy. I tried the Chicken Fried Steak; it was a bit bland, and I think a sprinkle of salt, pepper, onion, and garlic powder in the breading and gravy would elevate the dish. However, nothing tasted bad, and the overall meal was satisfying. On another visit, my husband and I found a new favorite brunch spot here. We enjoyed the breakfast burrito, grilled ham and cheese, and the standout for us was the stuffed French Toast. Its filling was just right and not overwhelming, making it a treat worth trying. Overall, Woodbridge Cafe serves up a good breakfast with generous portions and reasonable prices. It's a great spot for a quick meal, and we'll certainly be coming back.

Wow! I absolutely love Lily’s Cafe! This cute restaurant serves fantastic Guatemalan food that’s bursting with flavor. I went there yesterday for breakfast, and even just a simple salad was amazing. The freshness and quality of the ingredients truly stood out. Sitting at my table, I had a view of the kitchen, which looked spotless. The restaurant has been remodeled recently, changing from dark-brown colors to light, bright white and blue, which makes the place feel welcoming. Even better, they have a bar and offer a selection of mixed drinks, which I’ll definitely try next time I’m not working. I did have an agua fresca, and it was incredible—made with real pineapple, not a mix, which made all the difference. This was my third visit, and the food continues to be excellent, truly living up to that first impression. Think of your favorite Mexican dishes, but even better! I’ve found my new go-to breakfast spot, and I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re in Garland, Lily’s Cafe is absolutely worth the visit!

I went to the Branding Iron At Firewheel for their Breakfast with Santa event, and it was a delightful experience. They announced it last minute, and it was the first one in two years due to Covid, so it felt special. The buffet offered a good variety of food, and both the service and atmosphere were excellent. The restaurant was festively decorated, adding to the enjoyment. I did miss the eggnog and omelet station, but the multiple choices made up for it. They provided three types of delicious salsa, and there was plenty of guacamole for the fajitas, which was a nice touch. Surprisingly, the food was not only good but also inexpensive. The place used to have a classier, country club vibe, but now it’s more casual, serving burgers and hot dogs. Drinks were served in red solo cups, which seemed a bit out of place with the decor, but the taste of the burger made up for it. For a golf course snack bar, the view is amazing, and the breakfast consistently hits the mark. They truly had me at biscuits!

While the atmosphere is a bit dark, which might be more fitting for evening dining, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food overall. The tacos and quesadillas were definite highlights for me. The bistec taco was surprisingly savory, which isn't something I usually find in taco shops. The flautas were fresh, crispy, and flavorful—a real standout on the plate. My husband tried the Caldo de Rez, a childhood favorite, along with some tacos, and he couldn't stop raving about the soup. It truly satisfied in every way. There's a salsa bar available, but be warned that the salsas are quite spicy. While they weren't for me, skipping the salsa and opting for extra lime and fresh cilantro was a perfect alternative. El Paisa also offers a wide variety on their breakfast menu, and I look forward to trying that soon. Despite some minor issues, like plates left behind when the place was empty, the positives far outweighed any negatives. The food was fresh, hot, and flavorful, and I left with a happy, full stomach. This place has definitely become a new regular spot for us, and I can’t wait to return!

This morning I had a very good breakfast at First Watch in Garland with Boss Lady. The dishes came out quickly and were hot, which I appreciated, but there are just a few small tweaks they could make to elevate the experience from good to great. I ordered the smoked salmon and vegetable frittata, which was good overall. However, the white sauce on top was a bit much, and the "toast" wasn't quite right. Boss Lady had the BLT benedict, which was tasty, though the bread was hard to cut, and the potatoes could have used more crust and flavor. On a positive note, the lemon ricotta pancake was huge and incredibly tasty! Our server was super sweet and even gave us a cinnamon roll because it was National Kindness Day, which was a nice bonus. We'll definitely try this location again. It’s just as good as the Preston location, and the atmosphere is fantastic—you can actually hear yourself speak without yelling. I'm looking forward to visiting more locations to see if they meet the high standard set here. This place truly offers a 5-star experience and is well worth the wait. Hands down, it's the best breakfast spot with the most amazing menu in Texas. Audra was particularly amazing; ordering with her is simple because she knows what's good! She even braved the cold to check on us—A++++ service. First Watch is a solid breakfast spot, and hilariously enough, the reason I say that is because their cook can actually make over-medium eggs just right. But they offer so much more than that! Everything I try is scrumptious, and I enjoy the juice blends they offer. The staff is always happy to serve and maintains a consistently nice attitude every time I visit. It can get busy, so plan accordingly.

Yolk in Preston Center is a cool spot with a lively atmosphere. When we visited for brunch, we only waited about 20 minutes for a table, which was quite reasonable. Although the place was bustling, the staff was friendly and attentive. Claudia and Saul did a fantastic job ensuring we were well taken care of throughout our meal. I ordered the 5-egg omelet, which was delicious and generously portioned with sausage, bacon, and pancakes. There was so much food that I had to ask for a to-go box, and Claudia kindly offered me a complimentary to-go coffee, which was a nice touch. My daughter's kids meal was fresh and well-seasoned, which was great to see. However, not everything was perfect. The pancakes were a bit off, tasting and feeling like play dough, and there were a few items we ordered that never arrived. The atmosphere was loud, which might not be everyone's cup of tea, especially during a busy weekend brunch. The drinks didn't stand out either—the strawberry mimosa carafe leaned more on the juice side, and the latte was pretty average. The breakfast Mac and skillet had their issues, with the Mac and cheese being runny and the skillet overly salty. While the service was excellent, and the staff worked hard despite the crowd, the food didn't fully match the hype surrounding the place. With so many other great breakfast spots in Dallas, I might not be in a hurry to return, but I'm open to trying it again in the future.

The diner itself is cozy, though a bit dim; some modern LED lighting could brighten it up a bit. The staff was attentive and quick, which made our experience even better. Although the restaurant is tucked away in a corner of a shopping center and can be hard to find, it's definitely worth checking out. If you're looking for a break from the usual fancy, pricey spots, I highly recommend giving it a try. The food is delicious, although a tad greasy, and the pricing is great. For breakfast, I had three eggs, sausage, hash browns, and toast. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the portions were generous. They have daily specials for lunch and dinner, which I'm eager to try. The pancakes are huge and delicious, so don't skip those. The atmosphere is a charming slice of Americana, with blue leather booths and a cool neon sign. This place is a gem for anyone in Garland or nearby, and it's definitely worth a visit for at least one meal.

I tried the chicken fried steak, which was delicious—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired with all the right fixings. The service was impressive, especially from Diego, who was knowledgeable about the menu and made us feel welcome. The atmosphere is wide open with a charming 60's cafe vibe, and there was zero wait time to be seated. The rolls and cornbread were exceptional, soft and served with butter, both earning a perfect score. My Blue Plate Special with Chicken Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, fried okra, and steamed broccoli was excellent, each dish a 10/10. I appreciated how quickly the meals were served, taking no less than 10 minutes, and the portions were generous enough to take home leftovers. On another visit, I decided to try the pot roast meal and a cherry pie. Both were amazing, and there were so many dessert choices that it was hard to decide. The atmosphere was delightful, and the service was consistently great. I love diners, and Norma's Cafe is a fantastic find that I can't wait to return to. First of all, let me tell you that Taqueria García's is located inside a gas station. I initially got a bit lost because my GPS was taking me across the street, but once I found it, I was glad I did. The place was bustling around noon, which is usually expected. I ordered the birria taco plate and a gordita de barbacoa, while my husband went for the cubana. He was surprised to find hot dog in his sandwich, but he enjoyed it nonetheless. The jalapeño added quite a kick! Overall, this is a charming little spot. If you're not keen on eating at a gas station, this might not be the place for you. They don’t offer aguas frescas, which was a tad disappointing. However, the prices are unbeatable, and you get great value for your money. The daily trompo taco specials are a steal, and I even got a big burger and fries for just $5.95! The flavors were spot on, with fresh tortillas and a good amount of meat in the tacos. The service was fast and the staff friendly. The restaurant is clean and has a welcoming vibe, and there's plenty of parking, making it an easy stop. If you're in Garland and looking for a quick and delicious meal, Taqueria García's is definitely worth a visit!

On vacation in Dallas to visit my wife's family, I searched for a good taco spot and found this gem. Overall, Dos Bros Tacos serves delicious breakfast tacos, and that's why I keep returning.

The service is generally great, although this time, it could have been a bit more welcoming; the staff assumed I knew the ins and outs of the place, and a little guidance on the menu or their cafeteria-style setup would have been appreciated. Nonetheless, the food was delicious, especially the fresh and flavorful tamales. The Horchata Latte was a pleasant surprise and definitely worth trying. The atmosphere here is beautiful, with traditional decor that really adds to the experience, and I was pleased to find the bathrooms clean. The music added a fun vibe to the place. Although I had a minor encounter with an employee possibly having an off day, I understand this can happen. I've been coming here for years and was looking forward to trying the cakes at the new location. Unfortunately, I encountered an issue with one cake having a bug and another having a hair, which was disappointing, so I couldn't finish them. Despite this, the overall experience at "La Mejor" remains positive for me, and I continue to recommend it for its tasty offerings and enjoyable atmosphere.

Update: I returned a couple of weeks later, this time on a Saturday instead of Sunday, and surprisingly, the place was empty. You'd think service would be quick with no crowd, but it wasn't. The cleanliness, especially in the restroom, was lacking and there was an unpleasant smell. The stall felt cramped, like an airplane restroom. Despite these issues, the food remained good. First visit: I used to be a Denny’s regular, but this IHOP location has won me over for breakfast! The pancakes were excellent, with a delightful vanilla flavor and gluten-free options. The wait was long, which I suppose is understandable with such good food. Service and food overall were average—hash browns needed more cooking and the chicken sandwich was overdone. Our server, Daniel, turned a typical late-night meal into something special by making us feel very attended to, even with a busy restaurant. I’ll definitely be checking if he's working before my next visit! However, during today's visit, the waitress asked me to choose a tip amount while handing me the bill, which felt a bit off, especially since there wasn’t much engagement or service beyond delivering the food and bill.
