This was our second visit to Sweet Dough Bake Shop, and my daughter couldn’t wait to return for her favorite red velvet cupcakes. This time, we tried a variety of treats: a red velvet cupcake, an oatmeal cream pie, a strawberry crunch cupcake, a carrot cake ball, and a lemon blueberry macaron. The cupcakes were fantastic! My oatmeal cream pie was also delicious—it's on the larger side and quite sweet, so one might not finish it in one go. While the macaron and cake ball weren’t my favorites, that’s just a personal take. Our first visit left me thinking there weren’t many options, but this time there were plenty to choose from. The atmosphere in the shop is inviting, and the service is excellent. It’s easy to find and convenient to get in and out of the location. A special mention to the staff for going above and beyond when I needed a last-minute baby gender cake. Despite their decorator not being available until Monday, they managed to have it done by Saturday, and it was perfect. The cake not only looked amazing but tasted even better, earning compliments from all our guests. The shop itself is charming, and the treats are delightful. The $5 cinnamon roll with a gooey dark sauce was a standout, and the $6 slice of strawberry crunch was layered with different flavors. The cake bites were moist and my personal favorite, while the banana pudding was a generous portion. A big thank you to the team at Sweet Dough Bake Shop for making our kids' cakes so special!

Penny Path Café & Crêpe Shop is a fantastic find for breakfast in High Point. Each crepe is made to perfection, and the experience of watching the chef prepare them right in front of you is a real treat. The craft coffee drinks are delicious, and the cozy environment with its unique "Penny" theme adds to the charm. While there's no meat on the menu, the crepes are packed with flavor and creativity. The small interior has a few cozy booths, and the hand-painted counter is a lovely touch. On a nice day, the little sidewalk patio is perfect for enjoying your meal outdoors. The staff is incredibly friendly and down-to-earth, making you feel right at home. Although it’s a bit pricey, the quality of both the food and coffee is well worth it. I especially enjoyed the fruit cheesecake crepe, and my husband couldn't stop raving about "the original crepe." Both were delicious! On one of my visits, I wanted a sweet crepe and chose the Suzette with a side of House Cream. They were out of Suzette sauce, but the owner went above and beyond to make it fresh for me, even adding a little flambé for a traditional touch. It was truly amazing. Overall, this place is a hidden gem, perfect for a romantic lunch or a casual outing for college students. I've been here several times and have never been disappointed. If you're looking for a great-tasting coffee and something sweet like a crepe, Penny Path Café is the place to be! Highly recommended.

After getting coffee, it's great to wander through Grassy Knoll and explore their decorations and gifts. Alan Ferguson and John are truly talented, especially with their charming Christmas decor. It's a super cute spot to enjoy coffee and catch up with friends. This is my second time here, and their coffee and customer service never disappoint. Today, I tried the honeycomb iced latte while my partner had a caramel iced latte, and we both loved our drinks. Joy Bar Coffee Co. is definitely a favorite!

Dawn's Cafe is an excellent spot for breakfast in High Point. It's a charming little diner tucked away near the industrial area, offering a simple yet satisfying menu. I've been here before and loved it, and my recent visit confirmed that it's still a favorite. The food is fresh and delicious, though they were out of some breakfast items this time—only proving how popular they are! I can't wait to return and try it all. My companion and I ordered French toast with crisp bacon and hash browns. The French toast was tasty but could have been a tad browner. The bacon was perfectly crisp, but the hash browns didn't quite hit the mark. Still, the experience was enjoyable, with friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. The waitress even offered to take the hash browns back, showing great customer care. One unique aspect is a jar at the register for tips for the cook and cashier, which I found a bit unusual. However, it doesn't take away from the fact that Dawn's Cafe is a great place to grab a bite. Its location on Baker Road is convenient, especially since there aren't many eating options around. If you’re nearby, give this spot a try!

Inside, there's plenty of seating, which is great for those like me who bring a laptop to get some work done. I love the eclectic mix of tables and chairs, and I easily found a comfy spot next to a power outlet. The coffee itself is on point, with unique flavor combos that encourage you to try something new. DeBeen even has a yoga room/studio in the back, adding to the charm of this super cute coffee shop. The staff is knowledgeable, and the menu is extensive, including various non-coffee drinks and bakery items. I appreciate coffee shops that open early, and DeBeen gets it right by opening at 6am on weekdays and 7am on weekends. After my first coffee, I enjoyed a bagel and then treated myself to a refill, spending my entire morning there. It was brilliant. I even buy their beans weekly because they source from a local roaster, ensuring the freshest quality. The pumpkin spice lattes are a personal favorite, perfectly spiced and delicious. If you're seeking excellent coffee and a welcoming atmosphere, DeBeen Espresso is a must-visit. It's hands down my favorite local coffee shop, and I'm all for supporting local businesses.

I’d definitely recommend this spot. On my second visit, I ordered takeout and tried the Thai ginger wings and onion rings. The wings could have used more sauce, and the onion rings were cold by the time I got home. While the wings weren't my favorite, I’m definitely sticking with their burgers. During my first visit to Tipsy’z, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. We shared the Gouda Burger and the French Dip with hot chips and ranch—everything was delicious! The salad bar was clean and fresh, and I particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit bar. The fried fish and chicken were delicious. I was impressed by the green beans and pinto beans, and the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy were also quite tasty. I wasn't too keen on the yeast rolls or greens, but the banana pudding was a solid 8.5/10. The atmosphere was clean, the staff was friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back. Just a heads up, they only serve breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays, and while some breakfast items might be a bit bland, the buffet overall never disappoints. Not bad for the price, and our server did a great job.

The owner, who's from Greece, adds a special touch to the place, and I love how they embrace it in the restaurant's decor. We come here often, and it's always a treat. Just remember to bring cash, as they don't accept cards. They're open only during specific hours and close before evening, so plan accordingly. The breakfast and lunch offerings are delicious, and the staff is always friendly. While the parking can be tight and it gets packed sometimes, it's definitely worth it. The waffles and pancakes are generously sized, perfect for those who love a hearty meal. The atmosphere is welcoming, with about 8-9 booths and a countertop seating area. Despite being a small establishment, they deliver fast and friendly service. My eggs over medium and well-done bacon were cooked perfectly, and the waffles were amazing too. The place is clean, though parking is a bit of a tight squeeze. I would have snapped a picture of my eggs, but my hunger got the best of me. Here's a shot of the waffles, which were so good! On my second visit, I tried the Italian sub and potato salad, and it was just as fresh and delicious as my mom had promised—she's a regular here. I asked for my lettuce and tomato on the side to keep it fresh before getting back to work, and I'm glad I did. The food here is made with such fresh ingredients, and the variety of bagels and sandwiches is impressive. My mom and I stopped by after waiting a long time at a new bagel place up the road, and High Point Bagels blew them out of the water. Our wait was just 4 minutes for two bagels, and they were delicious. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the shop is small yet charming. They've got so many great options, including alternatives for people like me who don't eat pork. But what truly stands out is the top-notch customer service. I'm telling you, stop reading and just go check it out for yourself!

Carolina's Diner is a true gem for breakfast in High Point. As a regular, I've always found it to be a reliable spot for great food at a reasonable price. The staff is incredibly friendly, making every visit feel welcoming and comfortable. Although I was a bit disappointed with the turkey and stuffing, which seemed more like sandwich meat, it was a rare exception in my otherwise fantastic experiences there. The rest of the meal was delicious, as it always is. I'm thrilled to see the Volcano Burger back on the menu—it's a must-try with the Swiss cheese, green pepper, jalapeño pepper, and their signature House Hot Sauce. The food always comes out quickly, at the right temperature, and just as ordered. Carolina's Diner is a staple in High Point and a place I always recommend to anyone looking for an excellent diner experience.

The PepperMill Cafe in High Point is truly a hidden gem for breakfast! I can't say enough about the exceptional experience we had. The French dip panini with fried squash was fresh, hot, and generously portioned. Even Mr. Finicky, who is usually picky, was thrilled with the food. It's no wonder they can afford to close early and take Sundays off—every visit feels like they've earned their rest after a busy morning. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a sparkling clean dining area and a family-friendly vibe. When I arrived to pick up my order, no fewer than eight staff members checked if I'd been helped, all while efficiently managing other customers and tables. This level of service is phenomenal and shows they genuinely care about making each guest's visit special. The food wasn't just tasty, it was amazing. The pancakes were fluffy, delicious, and big enough to share, and everything came out hot and fresh. I really appreciate the dedicated team whose passion for what they do shines through. The PepperMill Cafe is a must-visit; you won't leave disappointed. Thank you for making our breakfast experience memorable.

I had a fantastic breakfast experience at University Kitchen in High Point. The baked spaghetti was good, and our friendly waitress made our visit even better. It was my first time dining in, and luckily, we didn't have to wait to be seated. Our food came out quickly, even with only one waitress working. The staff was welcoming, and they offer several cakes for dessert. The bathrooms were clean, and overall, their salads and bread were delicious. I tried a few sides, and their fried okra and potato wedges were amazing. My kids loved the homemade macaroni, and my daughter enjoyed the chicken tenders. If you're a sweet tea fan, theirs is delicious. The meal was very affordable, costing only $25 for three people, and it's a must-have experience. I found this place while visiting the area, and it's some of the best cooking I've ever had. Though I don't usually write reviews, I felt compelled to share. The chicken Philly and squash chips were amazing. My mom and I couldn't resist the sweet potato casserole—it was sweet, fluffy, and gooey. We even ordered two servings to take home and I'm eager to recreate it. Our server, Jen, was attentive and never let my cup go empty. I highly recommend the parmesan crusted chicken. Overall, I’ll definitely be back.
