As someone who has worked in the industry in Chicago, I can confidently say that the food was absolutely delectable. The wine and cocktail list is impressive, though during the heat wave, the red wines seemed a bit warm. Properly chilled, they would have been perfect with our meal. Service was lovely and attentive, adding to the charming southern atmosphere. Be warned, it’s quite lively during the weekend dinner rush—I could hardly hear my friend once it filled up! But that only adds to the vibrant experience. I've also had the pleasure of enjoying the tasting menu during a girls' night for my sister’s bridal party. The wine pairings were spot-on, and even the picky eaters among us left satisfied. Elvie's is a great spot whether you're looking for brunch, lunch, or dinner. When I was in Jackson, I stumbled upon The Bean while searching for vegan breakfast options, and I'm so glad I did. The atmosphere is adorable, with both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a perfect spot to start your day. Though I'm no coffee expert, I went in for my usual mocha frappe. It was tasty, though $6 for a 16oz seemed a bit pricey, but that's expected for the Fondren area. The customer service was outstanding. The cashier, a nice tall blonde lady, was professional and even remembered my order from my initial visit, which added a personal touch to my experience. The food was fresh and the drinks were great. I spent about $20 per person for a food item and a drink, including a 20% tip, which seemed reasonable given the quality and service. A slight downside was the portion sizes, which could be a bit larger in my opinion, and I wished there were more vegan or plant-based options. Despite this, I've been a fan of this spot since it was Sneaky Beans and I can't recommend it enough. Do yourself a favor and try the blondie latte. Overall, The Bean offers great service, delicious coffee, and fresh food in a charming setting. Highly recommend!

Just a little unassuming spot across the street from the Law School, Sugar's Place is family-owned and offers a southern and simple menu that delivers on flavor. The baked chicken was so tender it fell off the bone, and the breading was the best I've ever had. The green beans needed no extra seasoning, and the okra was so good it would’ve made my great grandma say "oooooh yum!" I've had my eye on this restaurant for a while and finally decided to stop in for breakfast. The customer service was great, and I was impressed with the moderate prices and amazing food. I ordered the chicken and waffles lunch portion fried hard with cheese grits, and it was so delicious! This was my first visit, and I found the restaurant nice, clean, and spacious. Coming from Memphis, TN for a show at Social 21 Bistro, I was searching for a good hot breakfast and found that the chicken and waffles were fried just right. The mimosa could have been colder, but the guy at the corner handled the line with a smile, offering good customer service. This place is a great local favorite for breakfast and lunch. The menu is clear and simple, making ordering easy. I also tried the chicken biscuits and grits, which were pretty good. I'll definitely be back!

Monroe's Donuts & Bakery is a fantastic breakfast spot in Jackson. The staff is always welcoming, greeting everyone with smiles as they come through the drive-thru. It's a beloved staple in the community for good reason. The donuts are fresh and tasty, and everyone at VITA enjoyed them so much, especially since they weren't expecting it. Although I felt a bit sad because my glazed donut seemed unfinished and tasted more like a sugar donut from a Chinese restaurant, the overall experience was still very positive. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quality and friendly service make it worth it.

I took my family to The Manship Wood Fired Kitchen to celebrate my mother’s 60th birthday, and it was a fantastic experience. Our waitress, Tamika, was amazing, making sure everything was perfect for our special occasion. The food was outstanding. I had the salmon with spinach, which was cooked to perfection—flaky and flavorful. My father and mother both enjoyed their catfish dishes, and the kids' pizza was so big it could easily feed three children. My wife loved her veggie pizza, and my son devoured his cheese pizza. For dessert, we had the pecan and ice cream dish, which was worth every calorie. If you like bourbon, this place won't disappoint as it’s an approved bourbon distributor. The ambiance was warm and inviting, adding to the overall great time we had. Whether you're celebrating a special event or just going out for a nice meal, I highly recommend The Manship Wood Fired Kitchen. You won’t be disappointed!

Susan, in particular, provided exceptional service. Their focaccia bread is delicious, and I loved the yin & yang coffee, whether hot or iced. The honey butter chicken croissant was a standout. Even if you're just there for a drip coffee, which is excellent, the atmosphere is wonderful. I tried a breakfast burrito and a blueberry roll with lemon glaze, both of which were delicious. It's an ideal place to stop by, especially if you're on a road trip. We were just passing through and were thrilled to find such a unique sandwich shop with homemade gluten-free bread. The portions are generous, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. We enjoyed it so much that we made a point to stop again on our way back a week later. The only downside was the wait time during lunch hour since they were quite busy, but it was worth it. I highly recommend Broad Street Baking Company & Cafe to anyone in the area!

The interior is aesthetically pleasing, and the friendly staff always make me feel welcome. Even when I'm pressed for time, PJ's manages to deliver. Recently, I placed an online order for a chai tea and two hot breakfast items. While there was a bit of a wait, the staff, Jules and Gracie, made up for it with a delicious frozen chai with vanilla and honey, and they were wonderful and accommodating to my family. The UNO cards provided a fun touch while we waited. I tried the Bloody Mary, and it was delicious, even though I prefer Grey Goose, and they only had Tito's. However, it’s worth noting that the prices are quite high. For example, the Bloody Maria was $12, which seemed a bit steep. The portion sizes were a mixed bag; the southwestern salad without meat was smaller than expected, but they were accommodating when I asked for more lettuce. My omelet was good, though it came with jack cheese instead of the goat cheese mentioned on the menu. The potatoes were crispy and a bit salty. While the quality of ingredients was top-notch, there are a few areas for improvement. The restaurant could use a good cleaning, especially around the air conditioning vents. I did encounter an unpleasant situation at the bar with a disruptive guest, but the bartender handled it with grace. Overall, my experience was a mix of highs and lows, but I would consider visiting again, especially because of the excellent service from our waitress and the fresh ingredients used in their dishes.

I highly recommend the Hey Lucy Omelette; it’s incredibly tasty. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict with a Lemon Blueberry Goat Cheese Pancake on the side, and both were excellent. My grandmother tried the Crab Cake with Fried Green Tomatoes, and she enjoyed her meal as well. The atmosphere was a bit noisy, but the quality of the service made up for it. I’m looking forward to trying their outdoor seating next time. Overall, I can't wait to visit again!

I had the baked chicken, paired with collard greens and macaroni and cheese, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was moist, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. Many rave about their Mississippi Tomato Pie, and I can see why people say it's bursting with flavor using the ripest tomatoes. What makes this place special is their dedication to supporting local farmers and producers. Everything tastes incredibly fresh and flavorful. They even have a market section where you can buy local ingredients to take home. Don't skip their homemade desserts - the Muscadine Grape Cobbler was the perfect ending to my meal, packed with genuine Southern flavor without being overly sweet. The prices are reasonable given the quality and portion sizes. It's obvious that the owners and staff are passionate about their work, and it enhances the entire dining experience. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make Farmers Market Café a must-visit in Jackson. It's a true taste of Mississippi that leaves a lasting impression. After our meal, we browsed the Mississippi-themed store stocked with gifts and goodies. The friendly lady there was a highlight, even though the hostess wasn't the most welcoming. I had a great experience at The Beagle Bagel Cafe for breakfast in Jackson. Everything I tried was really good. I ordered the Big John panini, which was essentially a French dip with onions and mushrooms, and it came with a delicious jus sauce for dipping. I also loved adding the Pick a Pepper sauce to everything – it’s fantastic. To go, I got an everything bagel with the Lotta Lox cream cheese, and it was just perfect. I'm also a big fan of the Zapps Spicy Cajun Crawtator chips they offer – those are the best! Though my spicy chicken salad wrap didn’t live up to my expectations on a previous occasion, this visit was different. The sandwiches were well made and packaged nicely, making for a very good experience. The wide selection of bagels was impressive, making it tough to choose just one, which is just another reason to keep coming back. I visited on a Sunday morning when it wasn’t too crowded, and I enjoyed an egg, meat, and cheese sesame bagel, which was tasty. The coffee was good too. While I found the cream cheese square too sweet for my liking and noticed a small fly on a cinnamon roll, these were minor issues compared to the overall quality and enjoyment of my meal. I find the size of the cinnamon rolls amusingly bizarre, adding a bit of character to the place. Overall, I would definitely eat here again.

Breakfast was a treat, even though the portion sizes were a bit small. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast sandwich and the loaded omelette with extra bacon, accompanied by coffee, whiskey, and fresh orange juice. The jams and preserves were not only adorable but also delicious. Our server, Jewels, was attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing our dining experience. Although our initial waiter got a bit busy, another helpful staff member stepped in, showcasing the polite, friendly, and accurate service that made our time there excellent. Despite the small hiccup, the team was funny and engaging. Later, I stopped by with a coworker for drinks, and we ended up ordering food. The crab dip was outstanding, and the amount of crab meat was generous. The cocktails were diverse and expertly prepared, particularly the one with egg white. The staff was sweet and took the time to explain the cocktail menu. I also grabbed some wings to go, which were perfectly crispy. While lunch had its ups and downs, with slow service and some dishes not meeting expectations, the overall experience was still positive. The crab/spinach dip was tasty, though the pita chips were a bit soft. The chicken Caesar salad and smoked chicken salad wrap were less impressive, and the truffle fries didn’t have the truffle flavor I expected. Overall, Estelle Southern Table made a strong impression with its delicious food and welcoming atmosphere, and I’m looking forward to returning.

There might not be a drive-thru, but the easy access parking more than makes up for it. The sense of community is strong, with many familiar faces around in the mornings. While some drinks might not be perfect every time, the staff generally go above and beyond to make things right, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The manager, who came from the Target Starbucks, is fantastic and ensures a smooth operation. Whether it’s coffee or breakfast, they consistently make my day better with their friendly service and clean environment. This Starbucks stands out as my favorite in the city!

Waffle House has been a staple in my family's tradition, especially for early morning breakfasts. It's always an easy choice for us. The food is affordable and, while some may say it's greasy, I find it cooked to perfection. Our meal arrived hot, fresh, and tasty, although the staff seemed preoccupied with their shift ending. Keeping my water filled was a bit of a challenge, but the hot and strong coffee made up for it. Though the food isn't the absolute best, it still hits the spot. I always enjoy their offerings and would highly recommend it. There was a hiccup with our order this time—my All-Star breakfast was missing items, and we had to go back to sort it out. Although they eventually made me a waffle, the experience was less than ideal. Mistakes happen, and I believe better management could prevent them. Despite this, I still love Waffle House for the classic American breakfast experience it offers. In the future, I’ll stick to the trusty All-American breakfast and skip the steak options.
