Visiting Kansas City from New Orleans, I stumbled upon Toast to Toast, located inside the Holiday Inn Hotel. Getting in requires a hotel key card, but if you don't have one, there's a convenient phone nearby. I decided to sit at the bar, where I was warmly welcomed by Javad and Phoebe. Their attentiveness and friendly service truly stood out. Javad whipped up one of the best espresso martinis I've ever tasted! For breakfast, I ordered pancakes, bacon, eggs over medium, and potatoes. The food arrived hot and was seasoned perfectly—no need for extra salt or pepper. Sereniti, our waitress, was fantastic, and her excellent service made us come back for breakfast, even though we weren't hotel guests. Everything was spot on. The place offers great food at reasonable prices, with generous portions. On another visit, we were in the mood for breakfast for dinner and received wonderful service from Cece. She not only served us delicious drinks but also made the experience memorable with her great conversation. Toast to Toast is a must-visit if you're in the area. With amazing food, friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere, it's a place I look forward to returning to soon!

It’s clearly a popular spot with locals grabbing their meals to go, but my friend and I found seating without any issue. She really enjoyed her Guacamole Chicken Club, and I have to give a shoutout to the Chicken Caesar salad. The cold chicken was a nice touch, and even the half portion was huge! My friend enjoyed the Bonjour crepe and a cup of French Onion soup, which was a hit. The warm, inviting atmosphere and beautiful, clean setting make it a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy a meal. When you’re out south, try Ronnie’s Restaurant too; it has the same family-run feel and quality. Kate’s Kitchen is hands down my favorite breakfast spot. Every time I’m in town, I make sure to drop by. My go-to breakfast is the turkey avocado benedict, even though it’s not officially on the menu. The cozy and homey vibe makes dining here such a pleasure. During my last visit, Erin, our server, was new but did a fantastic job taking care of us. The food came out quickly, and everything was delicious. I went for the Southern Cal omelette and couldn’t resist the cinnamon roll. I was pleasantly surprised when they accommodated our large group on a busy Sunday morning. Despite a wait, it wasn’t as long as expected, and we could wait outside comfortably, thanks to the speaker announcing when our table was ready.
