Before even taking a bite, I found myself making assumptions. However, Elsa's Chicken and Waffles in Lansing proved to be an excellent spot for breakfast. It's not about gourmet presentations here; it's about honest, good food, and they truly deliver on that front. My son was the one who suggested we try it out, and I'm glad we did. I opted for the hot honey chicken and waffles, while he went for a burger and some wings. Although the food took a bit to arrive, it was worth the wait. My son was happy with his choice too. The Hot Honey Chicken Fingers were everything I'd hoped for—crispy exterior, tender inside, and a flavorful sauce that hit all the right notes. The potato wedges complemented the dish perfectly. Despite not being much of a dine-in establishment, the service was friendly, and the restaurant, including the bathrooms, was clean. Our order was hot and ready, justifying a quick stop off the freeway. I just wish I could bottle up that Hot Honey Sauce and take it home! The staff, especially Nick, really know how to enhance the experience with their excellent service. My personal favorite is having the tenders dipped in sweet chili sauce with a side of blue cheese and wedges. Elsa's Chicken and Waffles is a spot my household loves, and we're sure to keep coming back. Keep up the great work, Nick, and I'll definitely see you today. Thank you!

Incredible! I never thought a bowl of fruit could win me over like this. If I could, I'd eat at Playa Bowls every day! The staff here are incredibly friendly, which only adds to the experience. I first came across Playa Bowls in NYC and was thrilled to find a location closer to home in Lansing. I'm a huge fan of the Coco Bowls, but today I tried the Mango Power Bowl. It was tasty, though I still prefer the rich flavors and textures of the Coco Bowls. The food here is consistently great, and the service is top-notch. Playa Bowls offers some of the best acai and fresh fruit around. The atmosphere is welcoming, making it a great spot to enjoy a healthy breakfast. If you're on the hunt for a good acai bowl, this is the place to go. The Tide Banana Bowl is a must-try, with granola and honey that are absolutely divine. Plus, there's vegan granola for those who need it! They load up on the fruit, making it worth every penny. I highly recommend Playa Bowls and will definitely be back. It lowkey hits the spot every time!

Soup Spoon Café

I had a fantastic experience at Soup Spoon Café with a large group of friends. They accommodated all eleven of us with just a few hours' notice, which was impressive. The food was outstanding; I ordered the Santorini salad with grilled chicken, and everyone else enjoyed their choices too. A tip for pasta lovers: specify if you want a lunch or full portion. Our server, Kesha, was amazing. Her food recommendations were spot-on, and she was attentive to our group’s needs. Though I live out of state, I’m already planning to return when I'm in Lansing again. The food is amazing, but the staff truly stand out. Lexi was another fantastic server, and her positive vibe made my birthday dinner feel special. We shared a lot of laughs, and it was clear the staff enjoys their work. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. I wasn't that hungry, so I just had onion soup and hash browns for under $10. The hash browns were crispy, and the soup was flavorful. I loved the local and unique food options, and I’m eager to try more. After a warm welcome from the manager, Keith, I got to see the restaurant’s unique artwork, which was a nice touch. For the main meals, we tried the East Side Chicken and the Reuben sandwich. While the chicken was a bit overcooked, the Reuben was brilliant. But the real star was the bread pudding dessert—it was the best dessert I’ve had in 20 years, hands down. Next time, I plan to explore their breakfast menu. Overall, I highly recommend Soup Spoon Café; the unique dishes and amazing staff make it a must-visit.

After picking up my girlfriend from the airport, we stopped in at Good Truckin' Diner in Lansing for breakfast. It's a cute spot with a chill and comfortable environment. The food is quite affordable and delicious, and I'm eager to return to try more from their menu. We tried a mix of items: the Diesel, the Veggiematic, and the bonuts. The Diesel was a hearty meal, and the gravy with the biscuit was a standout, though not as impressive separately. The Veggiematic, their veggie omelette, was the star of our meal – flavorful, though packed with enough onions to share the aroma! As for the bonuts, they had charm but weren't worth the deep frying fats. I also had an egg sandwich with smiley face fries, which was a fun touch, even if the fries were a bit mushy. I couldn't resist ordering the Bypass breakfast burrito, and it was enormous – definitely a challenge for my appetite. Despite the diner being set up in a way that made it hard to get the server’s attention, the staff was friendly and attentive. I even overheard them discussing someone’s specific egg order, which showed they pay attention to detail. Overall, it was a satisfying breakfast experience that left me rolling out the door, belly full. I'm looking forward to coming back, especially to try that breakfast burrito that looked incredible. Bring a big appetite if you go!

I had breakfast at The People's Kitchen in Lansing and it was a great experience. The atmosphere is eclectic and cool, which I loved from the moment I walked in. The service was fantastic—Danielle, our server, was super friendly and made us feel right at home. I went for the Chicken Sandwich with a Side Salad, and both were outstanding. The chicken was perfectly crispy while staying juicy, and the salad's dressing was exceptional. Even though they were hosting a private party and seating was a bit crowded, the staff handled it well and kept everything smooth. While the menu was limited due to the late hour, what we ordered was delicious, and the vibe of the place made up for any minor inconveniences. I'm looking forward to my next visit and trying more from their menu. Highly recommend this spot for anyone in the area!

Gregory's Soul Food has a unique charm that makes it stand out. From the moment I walked in, I could feel the warmth and friendliness of the place. The atmosphere is really inviting, and it instantly felt like a local hangout where everyone knows each other. Despite a few hiccups with the food, the experience was overall enjoyable. The best part of my meal was undoubtedly the bacon, which was cooked to perfection. While I had some issues with my eggs being runny and the grits needing improvement, I’m optimistic about trying different dishes on my next visit. It’s clear that Gregory’s is more about the community and the people than just the food, and there’s something really special about that. The staff and fellow diners were lively and seemed to have a great rapport, which added to the charm. It may not be perfect, but Gregory's Soul Food offers an experience that makes you want to come back, especially to enjoy the camaraderie and warmth. Plus, the prices are budget-friendly, which is always a bonus. I’m looking forward to another visit when I'm back in Lansing, hoping to find a new favorite dish.

Batter Up Bistro is a delightful mix of old charm and modern comfort. As soon as I walked in, I was drawn to its classic antique vibe. The fresh bread baked in-house was a perfect start, and the menu offered refined choices that were as appealing visually as they were delicious. The French toast with juicy berries and blueberry compote was a standout, while the bourbon brown sugar bacon on the BLT was the ideal touch. This place is perfect for sparking conversation and relaxing—we genuinely didn’t want to leave! As out-of-towners, discovering this gem was such a treat, and we were so impressed that we came back for both breakfast and dinner. I can’t recommend it enough! The staff was fantastic, always attentive and ready to help. They even answered all our questions about the menu, and it was a nice touch that the chef/owner stopped by to chat with us. The food was fantastic! Our dinner was highlighted by a perfectly cooked filet, and we indulged in a variety of desserts from cheesecakes to chocolate cake. The breakfast was equally delightful with English breakfast tea served in charming pots and a delicious Greek Club Omelette. The intimate environment made for easy conversation, and the detailed aesthetics of the restaurant added to the experience. I also loved that they sold local products like loose tea, coffee, and mugs—I couldn’t resist picking some up! The photos I took don’t capture the true essence of the place, but I hope this review encourages others to visit Batter Up Bistro. It's undoubtedly one of the best finds around! The BED BLT I had was perfect, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his omelette. We will absolutely be back. The service, especially from our server Colton, was quick, friendly, and professional. Everything about the bistro, from the atmosphere to the food, was spot on. It's a wonderful spot with amazing food.

I had the fastest omelette I've ever had at Sunshine Diner, and the service was fast AF! Everyone was extremely friendly, and the food was absolutely perfect. I'm not sure why I waited so long to try this place. The AC kept things chill, and there was music playing—at least, I think there was. It's an excellent spot, with old-school diner vibes that I really enjoyed. The staff was sweet and ready to help, and they were super accommodating to changes in our order. Even though we arrived at the peak busy time on a Sunday morning, everything was moving smoothly. This is an awesome breakfast spot. Rosa provided friendly, attentive service that made the experience fun. Hats off to the cooks—the steak was delicious, the pancakes were big and fluffy, the hash browns were golden, and the scrambled eggs were just right. The restaurant was clean, the seating spacious, and it had decent parking spaces. The employees were pleasant, and I will definitely bring family and friends here whenever I'm in Lansing. For my first visit, I tried the "Off the Griddle" Meat Lovers. It's basically a skillet breakfast with everything you could want—hash browns, meat, eggs, cheese, and sausage gravy. The portion was huge and incredibly tasty. It was such a good value, especially considering today's prices. The booth and seating have seen better days, and while the service was fair, I will definitely be back to try something else or have that large skillet breakfast again.

I had a delightful breakfast experience at Flap Jack Shack in Lansing. The quiche was absolutely wonderful, with a light and tasty crust and a delicious ham and cheese filling. I had the pleasure of eating at For Crepe Sake for breakfast in Lansing, and it was a delightful experience! Despite some confusion with their posted hours, the visit was absolutely worth it. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, making me feel right at home. They took the time to explain the menu to me, which I really appreciated. The Lavender iced latte I ordered was quite good, and while the blueberry goat sweet crepe was a bit sweeter than I expected, it was still enjoyable. The classic savory crepe had a strong mustard flavor, which might not be to everyone's taste, but I could see others really enjoying that boldness. The atmosphere was pleasant with a charming community vibe. Although the ceilings could use some cleaning, the overall decor and the lively ambiance made up for it. The music was a bit loud for a cafe setting, but it added to the energy of the place. One of the best parts of my visit was how quickly the food and drinks were served. I also appreciated that they offer gluten-free options, even with a small upcharge. While the cost is on the higher side, the friendly service and warm atmosphere make it a special place to visit. If you're in East Lansing and looking for a unique and tasty brunch spot, For Crepe Sake is definitely worth checking out!

Now, onto the highlight—the food. I ordered the huevos rancheros, and they were delivered to my table in no time. The meal was flavorful, with crispy tortillas and well-seasoned beef. I visited Fleetwood Diner for breakfast, and I'm really glad I did. After hearing about this place from a website, I finally got the chance to try it out, and it was a delightful experience. When you walk in, the retro '50s vibe with the stools at the bar immediately catches your eye, giving it a charming, nostalgic feel. Our server, Dani, was incredibly kind and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. I indulged in the Stuffed French Toast, which was absolutely delicious, while my friend enjoyed her favorite, the Hippie Hash. The portions were generous, and the prices felt reasonable considering the amount of food we got. The atmosphere was lively and fun, making it a perfect spot for a meal. Even though it was busy, the service was quick, and I left with a warm, satisfying meal. Overall, Fleetwood Diner hit the mark for a great breakfast experience, and I highly recommend trying the Meaty Hippie Hash if you visit.

I had a great breakfast experience at the Starbucks in Lansing. I usually go for the iced vanilla latte with very light ice and whipped cream. While sometimes I end up with more ice than I’d like, the drink itself is always delicious. Prices are a bit on the high side, but I think it’s worth it for the quality. Their Chai tea latte is another favorite of mine, and the cheese Danish is quite good. The iced lemon loaf is also tasty and worth trying. Even though the seating area feels a bit modern and sterile, with no comfy lounge chairs and some glaring overhead lighting, I still enjoy sitting there with my drink. I like that Starbucks offers strong coffee, which is why it remains one of my preferred coffee spots. I’d definitely recommend it to friends and family who appreciate a good brew. On one visit, I stopped in for a meeting and had a really pleasant time. The store, while smaller, was very clean, and the staff was welcoming and friendly. I ordered a pour over, and it was surprisingly tasty. There was a minor inconvenience with some of the plugs not working, but it was easy to move to another spot. Overall, it was a good experience that left me satisfied.

Breakfast at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Lansing was a delightful experience. It had been years since my last visit, so my husband and I decided to stop by this past weekend. We were welcomed by friendly and attentive employees, which set the tone for the morning. For my meal, I tried the chicken and French toast. The chicken was a standout, reminiscent of the classic KFC taste that I used to love. My husband ordered the Old Timers breakfast plate, and he was pleased with his generous serving of eggs, sausage, hash brown casserole, and biscuits with gravy. He found it satisfying, although it could have used a bit more flavor. The service was prompt and attentive, making our dining experience enjoyable. One of the highlights for me was the Biscuits Beignet. They were simply amazing and quickly became a favorite. As for the store, it was a treasure trove of unique items and reasonably priced goodies - definitely worth another visit for some shopping. While there were a few items that didn't quite hit the mark, like the French toast and peach cobbler, overall, our breakfast was enjoyable. The warm syrup in little shot bottles was a nice touch, and the strawberry mimosa was decent, even though I wished it came in a larger glass. Cracker Barrel’s relaxed and spacious atmosphere, combined with delicious food and an impressive store, makes it a place I'm eager to return to. We had a fun time, and I’m sure we’ll be back for more of those biscuits and maybe some Clove chewing gum for my dad!

Bob Evans has really stepped up their breakfast game in Lansing. I've tried the Red, White, and Blueberry breakfast twice now, and each time it was delicious. The staff did a great job handling a busy crowd, with prompt and attentive service. The food was tasty, though the menu seemed a bit smaller than before. While I’ve had some hiccups with takeout orders in the past, my overall experience with breakfast dine-in has been positive. The atmosphere is welcoming, and I always leave satisfied.
