Hugs Cafe

Our visit to Hugs Cafe for breakfast in McKinney was truly delightful. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by the friendly staff, who took the time to explain their mission and the positive impact they aim to make in the community. The food was amazing, with scrumptious sandwiches and salads that were reasonably priced at $13. What sets Hugs apart is their dedication to being a nonprofit organization, and it shows in the quality of both the food and service. Our server, Cierra, along with the rest of the team, was incredibly attentive and kind. A special moment was when a staff member noticed my crutches from across the room and offered to help with my drink, reflecting their exceptional level of care. The chocolate bourbon pecan pie was a real treat, and sitting outdoors provided a fun experience for our grandson as he watched the various police cars and vehicles go by. Hugs Cafe is an awesome concept, and it's refreshing to find a place that prioritizes quality, detail, and service in such a genuine way. If you haven't tried Hugs yet, I highly recommend supporting this wonderful local nonprofit. I'll definitely be returning for more delicious food and to continue supporting their incredible mission.
SALOMAY: Coffee - Wine - Crepes

Salomay in McKinney is a charming spot that I highly recommend. The decor is simple and inviting, and the staff greets you with friendly smiles, making it a pleasant place to relax and enjoy a meal. The crepes are delicious, with generous portions and a variety of flavors. I particularly loved the berry crepe, which is a vibrant masterpiece with the perfect mix of sweetness and tartness. The iced coffee pairs perfectly with it, providing a smooth and refreshing complement. The presentation of the dishes, especially the crepes, is impressive. The beautifully arranged berries and the dusting of powdered sugar show the chef's attention to detail. The warm atmosphere makes dining here delightful. I’ve tried different crepes, and they were all flavorful without any overpowering egg taste. My favorites were the breakfast crepe and the apple pie crepe, with just the right amount of sweetness and cinnamon. The Paris French toast was a standout—swap Nutella for dark chocolate, and it's heavenly. Drinks here cater to those who prefer sweeter options. The caramel macchiato was a standout, perfectly balanced. While the coconut strawberry drink was a bit sweeter than expected, it was still refreshing. My matcha drink was spot-on, and the savory breakfast crepe was satisfying. The owner’s presence, ensuring everyone was happy, added a personal touch. I look forward to returning for more.
Eggsquisite Cafe

During my breakfast at Eggsquisite Café in McKinney, the experience was both fulfilling and enjoyable. Our server was friendly and guided us well through the menu. The portion sizes were substantial, making it easy to share a dish, and the prices were reasonable. I tried the Roasted Salmon Bagel, but the avocado flavor was a bit too overpowering for my taste. The Spicy Cajun Chicken Waffle had a delicious seasoning, although the chicken was slightly dry. The bacon bits in the waffle added a pleasant taste and texture. Unfortunately, the Berry Berry Pancakes were somewhat starchy and lacked fluff, with syrup that was overly sweet. The standout dish for me was the Biscuit & Gravy Omelette. It was quite good and worth ordering, especially considering the variety of sides available. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I'd recommend trying the omelette options.
Harvest at the Masonic

My family and I visited Harvest at the Masonic in McKinney for our 10-year wedding anniversary, and it was a fantastic experience. The staff was incredibly kind and even congratulated us, making our son feel special too. This was our first time at their new location, which was also celebrating its 1-year anniversary. The environment was amazing, and the vibe on the third floor was cool. We were fortunate not to need a reservation to enjoy the space. The live music added a great touch to our visit, and our server was attentive and friendly. The food and drinks were outstanding. My friend and I shared a beet salad with chicken and roasted pork enchiladas, both seasoned to perfection with perfectly cooked meat. I also tried the Violet Beauregard cocktail, which was delicious. Although there was a $3 split charge for the entrée that wasn’t disclosed, the portions were generous, so we had plenty to eat. While it's not a quiet space, it feels intimate, and you can still enjoy conversations over the music. If I lived in Dallas, I would definitely be a frequent diner. The live band was excellent, and although we ended up at a small booth in the lounge because we didn’t reserve a table, the overall experience was memorable. The location is beautiful, the staff is great, and there are plenty of healthy food options. I can't wait to return and check out the upstairs section! The chicken fried steak was exceptional, while the deviled eggs needed a bit more flavor. Nonetheless, our fish, salads, and steak were divine.
Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea

Todd Koenen
I had a great time at Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea for breakfast in McKinney. The coffee selection is impressive, with lots of dairy-free options available for those who need them. The food menu is diverse, offering both healthy choices and some more indulgent options, which I really appreciated. The staff was super friendly, especially Megan, Kayla, and Aubry, who greeted us with smiles and were patient with our questions. Their suggestions were spot-on, and everything we tried was delicious, fresh, and piping hot. The quiche and croissant sandwich were particularly tasty. I also enjoyed the iced tea with sugar-free raspberry, and the hot latte with lavender was outstanding. The variety of flavors to customize your drinks is a nice touch, and they have plenty of sugar-free options too. Parking here is better than other coffee shops I’ve visited, which is always a plus. It does get busy, but the line moves quickly. There were some hiccups, like a delay in getting drinks due to staff multitasking, and a mix-up with the matcha not being fresh, but these were minor in the grand scheme of things. The environment is spacious and perfect whether you're stopping for a quick coffee break or meeting friends. Overall, I highly recommend this place for a fun and tasty experience.
Patina Green

Rebecca Cota
Awesome place! Walking into Patina Green feels like stepping into a modern but old-time general store. The atmosphere is fantastic, but the sandwiches and soups are the real stars. If you enjoy unique takes on something as simple as a sandwich, this is your place. We stopped in on a rainy day and seriously loved the tomato soup. It was comforting and flavorful, perfect for the weather. The complimentary cookie was a delightful treat. The restroom was clean and well-decorated, which added to the overall pleasant experience. After our meal, we browsed the shop for some fun gifts and home decor. The Perfect Smoked Ham and Cheese with Jalapeño Jelly sandwich is an absolute taste sensation, with tender smoked ham, quality cheese, and the unexpected yet perfect addition of jalapeño jelly. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff make Patina Green a delightful spot for a quick, delicious meal. Don't miss out on this culinary gem!
B&B Cafe
1411 N Custer Rd Ste 100, McKinney
(214) 548-5323
Sharon Stone
I had a delightful breakfast experience at B&B Cafe in McKinney. The food was impressive, from the omelette and pancakes to the cinnamon French toast, which was truly delicious. While the bacon was fantastic, I wasn't a huge fan of the sausage. Nonetheless, the overall experience was positive, thanks to the knowledgeable wait staff who recommended an excellent omelette. B&B Cafe really stands out for its perfectly poached eggs—definitely better than what I've had at Starwood Cafe Adriática. The hollandaise sauce was spot-on, and the biscuits and gravy were very tasty. Even the scrambled eggs hit the mark. This place might just become my new go-to for breakfast! The friendly staff and excellent service make B&B Cafe a strong contender for a top breakfast spot. I've visited a few times now, and their menu offers a wide variety for both breakfast and lunch. Overall, B&B Cafe is worth a visit, and I encourage anyone to give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
The Donut Kitchen - Stonebridge Ranch
7250 Virginia Pkwy STE 140, McKinney

Miguel Woods
The Donut Kitchen in Stonebridge Ranch has a fantastic selection for breakfast in McKinney. I tried the S'more and Pistachio donuts. The S'more donut looked really exciting, but it was a bit overwhelming, and just a bite or two was enough for me. On the other hand, the Pistachio donut was simpler, and I enjoyed every bite. My family also loved their choices. Their gluten-free donuts are the best I've ever had. Everything I've tried there has been amazing. The donuts and kolaches were delicious, and the custom designs made my son’s birthday party extra special. I stopped in close to noon, and the donuts were fresh and tasty. The lady who helped me was very nice and even gave me a free cinnamon swirl donut, which I loved. I'm looking forward to visiting again.
Scooter's Coffee

Penny Natascia
While visiting Texas, I made three trips to Scooter's Coffee in McKinney, and every visit was delightful. Cass, the barista, was working solo, yet she was impressive, crafting our drinks perfectly and swiftly. I highly recommend this place. My favorite drinks were the caramelicious frozen and iced with almond milk, while my wife enjoyed their smoothies. The pretzel sticks with cheese were tasty too. The atmosphere was welcoming, especially after a chilly morning walk at Bonnie Wenk Park. Even though it took some time to get our hot chocolate, and there was a bit of confusion with the orders, the overall experience was positive. I appreciated the convenience of their app for quick ordering at the drive-thru. The menu features a great variety, including sugar-free flavors, and the cafe latte I ordered was spot on. I even put one of their cute stickers on my water bottle. I’m looking forward to returning on my next visit.
Hydeout Cafe

Javi Fadikpe
Hydeout Cafe is a super clean, modern diner that offers a fantastic Sunday brunch. We decided to try it out after another place was too busy, and I'm so glad we did. Two of us ordered the eggs benedict, while I opted for the country breakfast. Everything was cooked perfectly and looked great on the plate. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and soft inside, the country biscuit was buttery with a delicious gravy, and my eggs were spot on. My coffee gave me the boost I needed, and my family enjoyed their iced tea. The service was quick and friendly, and the patio looks like an inviting spot for an alfresco meal. I'd happily return for another delicious breakfast. On my first visit, I tried the BLT and coffee, both freshly made and packed with flavor. The bacon was especially good. I even stopped by on my last day for another coffee, which was excellent. The atmosphere is welcoming and homey, with servers always smiling and ready to chat if you feel like it. I truly felt at home. The omelette was perfectly cooked, with fluffy eggs and plenty of filling. The biscuits and gravy were just like homemade, comforting and tasty. The staff ensured a pleasant experience, and the good morning vibes were evident. I'd highly recommend Hydeout Cafe to anyone seeking a delightful breakfast.
Benny's Bagels
5100 Eldorado Pkwy STE 104, McKinney
(972) 540-7707
Sonia Friedman
Benny's Bagels in McKinney truly stands out as a breakfast spot. It's quite popular, and I took that as a great sign when I saw people waiting even before it opened. I tried the croissant breakfast sandwich, and it was delicious, especially the croissant itself. The portions are decent, enough to keep you going for a few hours. Their bagels are fresh with just the right amount of chewiness and crispness, and the variety of flavors and spreads is impressive. The coffee complements the food perfectly. The staff here is friendly and efficient, making every visit enjoyable. I also tried a BEC SPK on an everything bagel, which was a bit dry, but the bacon with scallion cream cheese on a NYC bagel was flavorful and satisfying. While I wouldn't travel from Aubrey just for this spot, I’d definitely stop by if I'm in the area. The atmosphere has a classic deli feel, and the service is great. Benny’s party box was a hit when we had company over. My kids love getting their bagel sandwiches here on Sunday mornings after church—it's a much better choice than a sugar-laden donut shop. The environment is clean and calm, and they offer a great cup of coffee with a selection of refreshments. Supporting Benny’s for your next breakfast box is a fantastic idea, way better than the usual options like Panera or Einstein!
Spoons Cafe
100 E Louisiana St, McKinney
(972) 548-6900
Jamie Edwards
I decided to try Spoons Cafe for breakfast with my mom, and it was such a delightful experience! We opted for an early lunch/dinner, and our waitress, Christina, was incredibly polite and attentive. I had the chicken fried chicken sandwich, and my mom chose the BLT—both were fresh and delicious. For dessert, we savored their in-house creations, which were absolutely amazing. We enjoyed our meal in the outdoor seating area right in the heart of downtown McKinney, which was perfect given the lovely weather. I highly recommend dining here, especially on nice days when you can enjoy their charming outdoor space. The food and service were excellent, and while the restaurant itself is cozy and inviting, there was a bit of a music issue. The loud Mexican music coming from the kitchen overpowered the dining room music, which was a little off-putting. Even after asking for it to be adjusted, it seemed to get louder. It's nothing against the music itself, but it did detract from the otherwise pleasant atmosphere. I also visited with my family for brunch, and despite a 35-minute wait due to how busy it was, the staff was efficient. They took my number, allowing us to explore the square while waiting. Once seated, I had the Migas, my son tried the Frito pie, and my cousin had waffles. We all really enjoyed our meals, and the service was both friendly and quick. Overall, Spoons Cafe is a great spot with tasty food and a welcoming vibe. I'll definitely be returning!
First Watch

Salcido Srn
I had a great breakfast experience at First Watch in McKinney. The food was delicious, especially the Steak, Egg, and Hash, which I highly recommend. The service was exceptional, with a friendly and attentive staff. During an earlier visit, we encountered some issues with lukewarm food, but the server and manager were apologetic and handled it well, which encouraged us to return. On our latest visit, we informed our waitress about our previous experience, and they made sure we received hot food. Although my wife's dish initially missed some ingredients, the staff quickly corrected it, and she was pleased with the result. I had the Tri-Fecta, which was good, though the waffles lost their texture quickly when syrup was added. Dipping each bite helped preserve the crunch. My son had a half waffle with fruit and bacon, and he shared similar thoughts about the waffles. The bacon was flavorful and not too salty. The waitress and manager this time were fantastic, and they went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied. Despite a few minor hiccups, the atmosphere, staff, and management were impressive. The main challenge has been some food inconsistencies, but the overall experience was positive. I'm optimistic about our next visit and believe most people will have a great time here. I've visited several First Watch locations, and this is my favorite so far. We had a seamless experience even during a busy time, with personal service from Chris, the GM, and attentive care from our server. The menu options feel healthier than many other places, and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing meal. I'm eager to return, explore more of the menu, and maybe try out their bar area. It's definitely a spot worth visiting!
LAYERED
111 E Virginia St, McKinney
(972) 542-6317
Emma Jandali
Our first time at LAYERED for brunch was fantastic! The portions were generous and cooked perfectly, and the service was attentive in a laid-back atmosphere. Prices were just right. The polenta pancakes with berry drizzle were delicious. It's a fantastic brunch spot in downtown McKinney, with hearty, filling dishes. I'm excited to try more items on their menu. The sweet potato pancakes are a big dish—five good-sized pancakes—and I could only eat two, so you can definitely share. I love this place—it's my go-to upscale spot. The coffee is spectacular, the food is always on point and beautifully presented, and the staff is kind. My kids love the robo cat server, and the patio is pet-friendly, even winning over my dog. Hands down, it's my favorite restaurant. Came in for breakfast and enjoyed migas and a side of sweet potato pancakes—they were amazing! The atmosphere was great, and the staff in the bar area were fantastic. Can't wait to come back!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at First Watch for breakfast in McKinney! We love going every Sunday for brunch, and it's always amazing. The food is consistently great and never disappoints. All the waitstaff are welcoming and friendly, which makes it a good place to eat. Although it’s a bit pricey if you’re looking for a typical breakfast, it’s worth it for something different. The dishes we tried were on point, and our server was considerate and nice. While the food was just okay for me this time, I’m eager to come back and try something else on the menu. My only gripe is the checkout process; they use a digital checkout with a barcode, which is fine, but I wish they offered a regular check option too. Overall, we captured some great pictures and videos of their amazing establishment, delicious food, and excellent customer service!
Waffle House

Carlos F Behrnes
This Waffle House in McKinney is an incredible spot for breakfast! The team working around lunchtime on Fridays always makes the experience enjoyable—they're such an entertaining group! The food is consistently hot, fresh, and delicious. Dante was on the grill, and he not only prepared our meal perfectly but also took the time to ask about our day, ensuring everything came out exactly as we wanted. Paula was a sweetheart, keeping our drinks filled and taking excellent care of us. This Waffle House location is truly top-notch, and it’s part of our annual tradition to visit on Christmas morning. We deeply appreciate the amazing staff who work during the holidays and do our best to spread a little love to each and every employee. Thanks for another memorable Christmas breakfast! The atmosphere tonight was fantastic, and Justice did a phenomenal job with our food. I highly recommend this place—10/10! Looking forward to our next visit.

Itzel Ibáñez Carmigniani
Breakfast Club 51 in McKinney is a spot with great potential. The location is fantastic, and there's definitely a lot to appreciate about the place. The highlight for me was the food, especially the eggs Benedict, which was cooked to perfection. The portions are generous, often leaving me with enough leftovers for another meal, which is always a plus. The caramel latte was a standout, too—rich and flavorful. The chicken fried steak was delicious, and the eggs were cooked just right. While the pancakes were tasty, I had to be careful with the syrup due to the plate size, but that's a minor issue. Service-wise, Nate and Allie were exceptional. They went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of, especially Allie, who was attentive and proactive in ensuring everything was clean and orderly. It's clear they care about the customers. There are areas for improvement, particularly with the noise level and the staff's familiarity with the ordering system. But overall, the positive elements, like the food and the dedication of staff members like Allie, make me see a lot of promise in Breakfast Club 51. With a few tweaks, it could become a go-to spot for breakfast or brunch in McKinney.
Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen

Blake Borjas
Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen is truly a gem in historic downtown McKinney, especially for dinner. The location is charming, though parking might take a bit of extra time. The ambiance is inviting, and the service is consistently top-notch. Our waiter was attentive and always on time, which really enhanced our experience. For dinner, we started with the fried green tomatoes and sugar bacon, both of which were excellent. I enjoyed the pork chops and truffle fries, while my wife loved the lobster mac and cheese. The dishes were flavorful and satisfying, without a single complaint. The drinks were equally impressive; I enjoyed the cranberry mule and the Take Me to Pear'is, which was phenomenal. One of the standout features is how dog-friendly the place is. The manager was fantastic, welcoming our furry friend with a water bowl and some bacon treats. It's always nice to find a spot that accommodates pets so warmly. On a previous visit, I tried brunch. The steak and eggs were decent, though the eggs were a bit cold, and the breakfast potatoes were just okay. However, the coffee had a good flavor. Despite this minor setback, the overall experience at Sugarbacon is overwhelmingly positive, and I plan to return to give brunch another try. In summary, Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen is a delightful dining destination with great food, drinks, and service. I look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu.
IHOP
1960 N Central Expy N, McKinney
(972) 562-1855
Joe Lauren
IHOP in McKinney is a solid choice for breakfast, especially if you're craving pancakes late at night. The food is decent, and my boyfriend enjoyed his chicken and waffles, although he mentioned the breading could be better. My meal was a bargain at just $5, and I was pleased that the gravy was pork-free. The turkey bacon was a bit sweet for my taste, but overall, the food was satisfying. The service was attentive enough, even though the server seemed to be juggling quite a few tables. She was friendly, and the atmosphere had a nice retro diner feel with music adding to the experience. It's nice to have an option different from the typical fast food scene. There were a few downsides, though. The staff started mopping and putting up chairs while we were still eating, and the cleaning chemicals were quite strong, which made the end of the meal less pleasant. Also, there was a noticeable odor upon entering, but thankfully, we were seated away from it. The restroom could use some attention as it wasn't the cleanest, and the hand sanitizers were all empty, which was inconvenient. Overall, it's a decent spot for breakfast, especially if you're in the mood for pancakes. The staff is friendly, and the food is generally good. Just a few areas need improvement, like the cleanliness and the smell, but this is still one of our favorite IHOP locations.
