This place is amazing! Everything about it is fantastic. The breakfast egg rolls were intriguing enough to order and so incredible that I wish they sold them frozen so I could make them at home. All the food we had was just as amazing. Samara was our server and she was pleasant, attentive, and great with my kids. The Mimosa flight was fun and delicious! We were there yesterday for breakfast and everything was perfect. Our server Emily was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very nice as well; I love the colors and all the decor. We will definitely return next time to try different menu items. Every aspect of my experience was positive! This was a last-minute call for breakfast during the church brunch rush, which is probably the busiest day of the week. I followed Yelp’s recommendations for the best breakfast in the area with a 4.5-star rating and was not disappointed! I was able to be seated at the bar and was greeted with a smile. I don’t remember her name, but when I asked for her suggestion on what I should order, she had some excellent advice. I took her up on her recommendations for the Monkey Bread, the Egg Rolls, and the Fiesta Hash. The Fiesta Hash is listed as vegan and I’m convinced this is incorrect, or they have conjured up some incredible flavor to taste just like meat. As usual, my eyes were larger than my stomach, and I was blessed with finishing the leftovers later that evening. I will be back another time to try the other seven recommendations. Jane was amazing! She helped us with our decisions on the food and drinks and had great suggestions. The drink I had was delicious and I’d order it again. I ordered the burrito and it was so tasty. Great size too, so I’m bringing the leftovers home. Yum! The atmosphere is fantastic and fun. Highly recommend!

Isles Bun & Coffee is a fantastic spot for a breakfast treat in Minneapolis. The atmosphere is both comfortable and welcoming, making it a great place to start the day. We got the puppy dog tails and two cinnamon rolls, which were soft and perfectly textured. The frosting wasn’t too sweet, just as other reviews suggested, and getting extra frosting is a must. The lattes were enjoyable as well. We went early to avoid the rush, and it paid off. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and even the customers were kind enough to hold the door as we left with our hands full of deliciousness. A family friend had recommended it, and it was absolutely worth the drive. Love the puppy dog tails! We also tried a slice of veggie pizza, which was delicious. The place was bustling with a line out the door, expected for such a popular spot. Despite the crowd, everyone was friendly and pleasant, which made the experience even better. I ended up hanging out in the store and at a nearby shop, making for a fun visit on my first time there. This spot deserves 5 stars, hands down. The cinnamon rolls were the best I’ve had in the area—soft, gooey, with just the right amount of cinnamon. The icing was perfect, creamy but not too sweet. It’s clear they use quality ingredients and bake everything fresh. If you love cinnamon rolls, you need to try Isles. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

We stumbled upon Ideal Diner and were blown away. This historic spot from 1949 is a gem. On Sunday, you'll likely wait about 45 minutes, but it's worth it. I ordered pancakes, simple yet delicious, while watching the kitchen whip up perfect omelettes, biscuits and gravy, and steaks with hash browns. Ending our Minneapolis trip here was the best decision. I wish we had found this place sooner, but I'm eager to return. The diner is a well-oiled machine. The small team works efficiently to seat customers and serve meals, and the vibe is nostalgic. Prices are fair, portions are generous, and the hash browns reminded me of my mom's cooking. The country fried steak is unbeatable—massive and served with fresh-cut hash browns and delicious gravy. If I could, I'd visit every day. Pancakes are on another level here—large and tasty. Everything on the menu seems great, and the food on others' plates always tempts me to order more. Service is quick, and the staff is friendly. The only downside is the small seating area—just 13 counter seats—but takeout is an option. Occasionally, you might need to slide down your seat to accommodate others, but that's a minor trade-off for such great food. If you can visit during a less busy time, do it. For the price, it's the best meal in the area, if not the entire metro. I’ll keep coming back if there's a seat for me. I can't believe I haven't reviewed Sun Street Breads before, given how many times I've been there. There was a dip in quality around the Covid period, with the biscuits coming out burned a couple of times, but I'm happy to say things have improved again. Their biscuits and gravy are back on my list, and I’ll definitely be adding them back into my regular breakfast spot rotation. Their bakery is always a highlight. I’ve done takeout a few times, and their breakfast sandwiches never disappoint. I can rarely resist their pastries or a fresh loaf of bread, which they’ll even slice for you. Their attention to quality ingredients and the processes they use to create flavorful food is something I truly admire. On a recent visit, I ordered the BLT with crispy, well-done bacon, and they nailed it. The bacon had the perfect texture, easily the best in town. While I’ve mostly stuck to pastries, each one has been flawless. This morning, I tried the rhubarb turnover, and it was so delicious it nearly brought me to tears—flaky, buttery, with the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. I highly recommend trying a bit of everything here. Next weekend, I plan to have more time to finally try one of their breakfast sandwiches, especially since their cheddar bacon biscuits are so amazing. Sun Street Breads is definitely a favorite spot of mine for breakfast delights and so much more.

There's plenty of seating, and the atmosphere is genuinely inviting and reminiscent of the classic 90s coffee shop vibe, which I absolutely love. The coffee here is delicious, and they serve it in perfectly sized mugs. I tried a cubano, and it was just as strong and acidic as I prefer. There are also fun beverage choices to explore. The water is plentiful, and the snacks are top-notch, which makes for a wonderful experience overall. One of the things I truly appreciate about Royal Grounds is their approach to wages. They discourage tipping in favor of paying a fair wage to their employees. It's refreshing to see a business prioritize their staff in this way. The decor is unique and fun, adding to the charm of the place especially in the bathroom. Even though parking is street-only, this quieter corner of Minneapolis makes it worth the stop, especially if you're driving in the area. Plus, it's a great spot for enjoying a lovely cup of tea with friends. Walking into Royal Grounds feels like a trip back to the independent coffee shops of the 90s, which is no surprise given they've been around since then. It's wonderful to see a place retain its individuality without becoming a chain clone. Supporting local businesses like Royal Grounds is important, and I'm glad to have found such a delightful spot to enjoy my mornings.

The cozy, quintessentially American vibe is all part of the experience, and the affordable prices are a nice bonus. During my last visit to Minneapolis, I came here twice—it was that good. Normally, I'm not big on breakfast, but Al's made me rethink that. Both times, I managed to snag a seat around 9:30 and 11:30 on a weekday, but it filled up fast afterward. The staff is incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and friendly, which is exactly what you'd expect in Minnesota. The first time, I tried the José—poached eggs on hashed browns with salsa and cheddar cheese—and paired it with a side of sausage and solid coffee. The good conversation and local recommendations, especially for a good burger, made everything A-OK. Before leaving town, I had to stop by again. I got the José once more, this time adding a short stack of buttermilk flapjacks with blackberries and chocolate chips. OMG, they were so good! This place is a must-visit and absolutely worth the wait. It's a Minnesota legend. Even if it's been years since your last visit, like it was for me, the memories and flavors will come flooding back. Three of us visited Berry Sweet Kitchen for breakfast simply because it was near the VA Hospital, and WOW! The baked goods are made fresh on-site, and they smoke their own bacon. They offer fresh-squeezed orange juice, and while I don’t know where they source their coffee, I’d drive there just for that. The staff is perfect. Berry Sweet Kitchen is now a regular spot for me, even though it’s a drive from my home. If you love berries and breakfast food, you can’t do better than this neighborhood gem. The atmosphere is very friendly. Updated in 2024: Another scrumptious breakfast here that still deserves 10-stars. The cinnamon roll is delicious and it remains my favorite breakfast spot in Minneapolis. Amazing breakfasts with fresh berries, and their crepes are phenomenal. French toast and pancakes are solid options too. I grabbed some tarts to go, and they were equally fresh! The bacon is thick, and parking is easy with off-street availability. It’s absolutely a place we'll return to whenever we’re in Minneapolis. Great price point, large portions, friendly staff, and the place is CLEAN! They serve traditional American breakfast foods with a twist of Mexican flare. Their pork dishes in the morning are superb! They even offer multiple flavors of mimosas, which are not bottomless but come in a generous portion. All the food looks divine and is served super quickly. Don’t forget to take home a tart if you visit after Tuesday at 11 am. Scrumptious!

She was truly amazing—kind, helpful, and professional. Even though the store seemed understaffed that day, Hannah managed everything with grace and efficiency. It's clear she was a bit flustered, but she still provided outstanding customer service. The convenience of having Lunds Groceries connected to Caribou Coffee is a bonus; you can easily pick up groceries after enjoying a delicious coffee. I hope they consider hiring more staff to support great employees like Hannah!

Cafeteria La Loma in Minneapolis is my absolute favorite spot for tamales. The quality and flavor here are unmatched, making it the best place for tamales in the city. My go-to favorites are the Oaxaqueños and tamales dulce de elote, and despite some mix-up with the veggie and cheese tamales containing pork lard, I'll keep coming back. The tamales verdes de pollo and tamales rojos de Oaxaca are also top-notch. At $4 each, they're worth every penny. The service is quick, making it easy to grab a delicious meal on the go. Though the area around the cafeteria isn't the best, the tamales make the trip totally worth it. La Loma will always have my support and recommendation, and I only wish they had a location in Huntsville, AL!

I've been to the St. Paul location once, but this was my first visit to the Northeast one. This space is bigger and more open, though it lacks a bit of charm compared to the St. Paul spot. The service was terrific, and I appreciated the quick preparation of the cinnamon roll, so we got to enjoy it right away. The coffee was hot and fresh. I accidentally ordered the salmon with root veggies and squash because I mixed it up with the walleye dish I wanted. Surprisingly, it was a delight, even though I'm not a big fan of salmon. I went with a friend on a busy Saturday morning around 10:30, and we didn't have to wait for a table. The open concept made it a little loud, but the food was so delicious that it didn't bother us much. I had the smothered burrito and an iced vanilla latte. The burrito was hot and flavorful, and the latte had a nice balance of coffee and sweetness. My friend had the grain belt breakfast and thought it was fine. The food was a bit pricey, and the staff were quite busy, but they were friendly and quick to help when we asked. Overall, I'd definitely go back, especially if I'm meeting a friend in the area.

I tried the Salted Cinnamon Roll Waffles and a seasonal latte, and both were absolutely delicious. Jackie, who was juggling both host and serving duties, made sure I felt welcome and even took the time to chat with me during my break from work. Her friendly and attentive service really stood out. If you're searching for a cozy breakfast spot with excellent food and service, this is the place. The menu offers a mix of classic and unique dishes, all fresh and flavorful. I enjoyed the avocado toast with a perfectly poached egg, while my friend loved their breakfast burrito. The portions were just right, and everything tasted homemade. The staff was attentive without making us feel rushed, and the warm atmosphere with charming decor and relaxing music added to the experience. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and the coffee is great too. Whether for a quick breakfast or a leisurely brunch with friends, this spot is a true gem. The new location is beautiful, and the food continues to impress, especially the pork belly & biscuit. Having Hope so close is both a blessing and a temptation, as I find myself wanting to visit often. The coffee bar is also commendable, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

My wife and daughters surprised me by bringing me to Wood + Paddle Eatery for my birthday, and I couldn’t have been happier with the experience. I had heard of the place but never thought to visit, and now I’m glad we did. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the atmosphere was really cool. Plus, parking was super easy in the ramp next to it, which was a nice bonus. We stopped by after exploring downtown Minneapolis, and I probably had one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The aroma when it arrived was mouthwatering, and the taste was incredible—moist, juicy, and flavorful. It was the best $15 I spent on the trip. The drink I ordered, Naked in Minneapolis, was just okay, but the Rosemary Honeysuckle cocktail was delightful. The food we tried was amazing. The Duck Confit Stroganoff was a step up from the classic version and hit the spot perfectly. The Brussels sprouts, with a hint of blue cheese, were fantastic. I also loved the Mesquite Grilled Steak Frites, which was cooked rare as requested and just melted in my mouth. It’s a great place for date night or if you’re heading to a show nearby, with quick service that doesn’t disappoint. On Friday night, the place was packed and maybe a little understaffed, but our waiter, Adland, did a fantastic job despite the busy night. The next morning, we returned for breakfast. The coffee was a bit overcooked, but the steak and eggs made up for it. Overall, Wood + Paddle Eatery is definitely worth a visit. The location is convenient, the decor is nice, and I had the second-best pork chop of my life there. Seriously, they shouldn’t change a thing about those pork chops!

West Bank Diner is an amazing spot for breakfast in Minneapolis. My sambusa was delicious, and the prices were unbeatable for the quality of the ingredients. The staff was incredibly kind and friendly, which added to the relaxing atmosphere that anyone would love. The portions were very large, and everything we ordered was fantastic. The goat was tender and perfectly cooked, while the chicken dishes were bursting with flavor. The mango lassi and tea with milk complemented the meal perfectly. It was my first time trying Somali food, and it certainly won't be the last. I was recommended to try the chicken kutlayetti, and it did not disappoint. The sliced fried chicken with rice and addicting ranch sauce was delicious, although I later found out I should have paired it with banana. The staff and patrons were very friendly, making the whole experience feel like hanging out at a friend's house, especially with a big futbol match on TV. One thing to note is that they seem to close for a bit in the early afternoon on Fridays. Despite the language barrier, the employees got my order right, and everything tasted fantastic. The atmosphere was very laid-back, with people just relaxing and doing their own thing. I would definitely recommend West Bank Diner to anyone looking for a great meal. 5/5 stars easily!
