It's refreshing to see people genuinely enjoying their work. The place itself is adorable, located right in the heart of Montgomery and within walking distance of Troy University. It's clean, and the workers are diligent about sanitizing. There's a cute little gift shop filled with trinkets and local finds, adding to the charm. The meals are generous and fairly priced. I loved the Club sandwich paired with the best banana pudding I've ever had and a refreshing pasta salad. Plus, each meal comes with Mama's signature Hershey kiss, and the packages are wrapped with a thoughtful note that says, "Thank you for supporting my small business." This place feels like a warm hug, and it's definitely on my list of go-to spots whenever I'm in town. The food, service, and atmosphere are all fantastic. Five stars plus! Hamburger King is a fantastic throwback burger joint that I absolutely loved for breakfast in Montgomery. My pastor recommended it as the best burger spot in town, and he was absolutely right. The moment I took my first bite, I knew it was the best burger I've had since arriving in Montgomery. The atmosphere is charmingly old-school, like stepping into a 1970s burger spot, complete with a bit of rustic charm. The counter ladies were wonderful, and I was impressed to see the two flat tops filled with patties, showing just how popular this place is. The prices include tax, which is a nice touch, making the entire experience straightforward and hassle-free. The burger itself was phenomenal—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly complemented by the large buns that keep all the toppings neatly in place. Even though I wasn't particularly hungry when I arrived, I ended up devouring every last bite. It truly hit the spot. Additionally, I tried their loaded hotdog, which was a surprising delight, especially with pickles—a topping I hadn’t considered before. Be prepared to wait a bit if you don't call your order in ahead of time, but trust me, the wait is worth it. It's cash only, but there's an ATM on site for convenience. Overall, Hamburger King is easily in my top five restaurants in Montgomery. The burgers are incredible, and the experience is worth every penny. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with genuine smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The food was outstanding—tender brisket, perfectly scrambled eggs, and the most delicious plantains I've had in a long time. The small menu made it easy to choose, and everything we tried was fresh and flavorful. The staff, led by the ever-caring Mama Janet, made us feel right at home. They even accommodated our vegetarian needs without any fuss. My husband and I enjoyed every bite: he had the Cachapa with brisket, and I savored the Sunrise Arepa with spinach. The banana French toast was a delightful treat. The strong, delicious coffee and refreshing pineapple juice rounded off the meal perfectly. Being about 30 miles away, we were thrilled to finally make the trip, and it was worth every mile. Our hearts and bellies left full and happy, and we’re excited to return. D'Road Cafe is certainly a spot we'll bookmark for our next visit. It truly was some of the best breakfast we've had in a while.

As an out-of-stater, I stumbled upon Barbara Gail Neighborhood Grille while googling for breakfast spots, and man, am I glad I did! The drive might seem a bit daunting if you're not local, but trust me, it's totally worth it. This place serves genuine Southern cooking—no tourist traps here. I indulged in the catfish with cheese grits and shrimp and grits, and both were amazing! It’s a shame we only discovered this gem on our last day in town. Oh, and they have every flavor of Kool-Aid imaginable, made just right! The food was so good that the 30-minute drive didn’t even matter. I arrived about 40 minutes before closing, so the options were a little limited, but what I did get was delicious, and the service was excellent. This take-out spot is definitely worth the trip, and I can't wait to return to Montgomery just to eat here again. The sausage and grits and shrimp and grits are also must-tries. They close at noon, so be sure to get there early. This is hands down the best breakfast spot in Montgomery.

Vintage Cafe in Montgomery is a gem for breakfast. The atmosphere and vibes are fantastic, creating a cozy yet chic setting that's perfect for starting the day. The food we tried was quite impressive. The berry smoothie was a standout, delicious and refreshing. I was particularly impressed with the salmon croquettes over the artichoke heart salad; it was fresh and flavorful. The Martha's melt, while tasty, had a bit too much jam, which overpowered the bacon and brie. The chicken salad sandwich was unique and tasty, though the bun struggled to hold the generous chicken chunks. I think it might be even better served over lettuce as a salad. The coffee is exceptional, and I highly recommend trying the Fig and Brie Melt. Although the wait times were a bit long, it wasn't anything unbearable. The staff were extremely welcoming and took the time to explain what makes Vintage unique, which added to the overall pleasant experience. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quality of the food makes it worthwhile. One small note: my hot coffee was extremely hot, so just be careful not to burn your mouth. The cafe also features a nice little market with a good array of baked goods and other items. Everything looked amazing! The espresso was spot on, and the chorizo burrito was packed with flavor. The highlight, though, was definitely the cinnamon bun. It was incredible. This is a great spot just south of downtown Montgomery, and I would absolutely return and recommend it to anyone in the area. The quality of the food and the inviting atmosphere really make Vintage Cafe stand out!

On my way back home to New Orleans, I stumbled upon Greg's Breakfast Bar while searching for breakfast spots. I called in my order, and by the time I arrived, about 5-10 minutes later, my food was ready. Everything was reasonably priced, and the food was absolutely delicious. My wife and I immediately felt at home in the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. The person taking orders was amazing, making us feel right at ease. The breakfast here is some of the best I've ever had. The grilled pork chops are a must-try, and the portion size is generous enough for two people. The grits, sausage, and eggs were also fantastic. Having recently moved to town, I've already visited twice this week because I can't get enough of their fantastic breakfast. The down-home atmosphere is something I really appreciate. Just a note, most of the parking is in the back. This was my first visit, and I was drawn in by their menu and reviews. I thoroughly enjoyed my pancake plate with turkey sausage links and eggs. Greg's Breakfast Bar has definitely earned a repeat customer in me.

Shashy's Bakery and Fine Foods in Montgomery is an awesome spot for breakfast. Our meals were fantastic, and the service was both friendly and professional. The staff helped us decide what to try, and it was a great experience overall. On our way out, I picked up two types of fudge, and they were fresh and delicious. The selection of bakery goods is impressive. The food was amazing—plentiful, fresh, and full of flavor. The home fries were a standout, and I’d love to see a Cajun Omelette on the menu. The coffee and orange juice were good too. Prices are very reasonable, making it a worthwhile stop for lunch and a place to relax. While everything we ate was excellent, the service was a bit slow. We waited for menus, coffee creamer, silverware, and even our food. The staff was nice, but a bit forgetful and not as efficient as I hoped. Despite these hiccups, we enjoyed plenty of time to chat, and the food was worth it. I highly recommend trying Shashy's, and I’ll certainly be back.

Every time I'm in Montgomery, I make it a point to eat at Davis Cafe for breakfast. It's only open for a few hours during lunch, but the food is truly outstanding. The cornbread dressing is authentic and not from a box, the sweet potatoes are just right, and the butter beans are excellent. While the collard greens might be frozen, they're still tasty. Davis Cafe is a genuine soul food spot. The exterior might look rough, but inside, it's not too bad. The staff might not be the friendliest, and the service can be a bit slow since they don’t have enough people, but I'm all about the food here. They manage with just one waitress, and she does a commendable job. The smothered pork chop and corn I had were hands down the best I've ever tasted. I opted for the Friday menu which included Dressing, Mac n' Cheese, Blackeyed Peas, Green Baby Lima Beans, and Cornbread Muffins, all washed down with some Sweet Tea. You definitely won't leave hungry, and I even took a to-go plate for another fantastic meal later. The food is incredible, the staff is nice, and the place has a genuine down-home feel.

The fried chicken was perfectly juicy and crispy. And the key lime pie was sweet and tasty. The staff are warm and welcoming, creating a lovely community vibe. I had asked some former co-workers where to get a good Southern breakfast, and they all recommended the Farmer's Market Cafe as a "don't miss." Finding it was easy with Google Maps, and upon arrival, I was warmly greeted and given a menu. I ordered The Farmer's Breakfast and couldn't resist adding the Biscuits and Gravy to my meal—definitely a great choice. My meal was well-prepared, and I have to rave about the biscuits and gravy; they were worth the trip alone. My waitress was attentive, and my coffee cup was never empty. The dining area was spacious and clean, as was the restroom. After dining, I explored the surrounding area and noticed that by lunchtime, the place was packed. Clearly, lunch here is a must-try, and I've made a mental note to return. Kudos to the restaurant staff and management for a job well done. I'll be back for more delicious meals.

Each visit has left me satisfied with my choices. Some sides stand out more than others; for instance, the collard greens are flavorful, and while the butter beans were a bit sweet for my taste, a dash of hot sauce did the trick. The candied yams hit the perfect sweet spot. The service at Sally T’s is consistently good, and they offer a tempting selection of desserts. We even used their catering service for Thanksgiving, and the entire process was handled professionally and smoothly. I truly hope this business continues to thrive because the food is consistently amazing. I can’t forget to mention how welcoming the environment is; the staff always makes you feel at home. While most of the food is impressive, I did have an issue with the cabbage and green beans being too salty on one occasion, which was a bit disappointing since I usually enjoy everything. Despite this, Sally T's has earned a 10/10 from me. The peach tea is incredible, definitely a must-try, and I look forward to many more visits in the future.

The food was great, and you could see the owner right there, taking care of business which adds a nice touch. The place was very clean, which I appreciated. Although the parking was a bit limited and there was no seating available (I ended up eating in my car), the experience was still enjoyable. They did attempt to share their religious views, which was unexpected, but it didn't overshadow how cozy and welcoming the place felt. I ordered the veggie omelette, and it was amazing—fresh ingredients and full of flavor. My server was great, attentive, and friendly. The employees were all very nice, adding to the pleasant experience. It's a simple meat-and-three kind of place, but very yummy. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you haven't been.

Initially, things were a bit bumpy with a 25-minute wait to be seated, primarily because there was just one cook. The hostess asked if we had a reservation, which I found funny given there were only a few tables. Nevertheless, we were seated sooner than expected, within about 5 minutes. Once we ordered, the food came out pretty quickly. I went for the 3-egg omelet and potatoes, while my friend chose the breakfast platter with pancakes, grits, and meat. Both dishes were delicious and well-prepared. The standout for me was the red velvet pancakes – they were amazing! One thing that caught me off guard was that the menu didn't have prices listed, and costs for additions like cheese on eggs and pecans on pancakes were surprising. The bill for two was $65, with an 18% gratuity automatically added, something that wasn't mentioned beforehand. Also, I expected a bakery counter given the name, but there wasn't one. However, the overall atmosphere was pleasant. Jazzy, the owner, is a wonderful and passionate person who dedicates herself to perfecting her brand. The staff, while not initially the most welcoming, turned out to be friendly and professional. The restaurant itself is nicely designed and has a great ambiance. While I wouldn't make a special trip just to eat there again, if I find myself in Montgomery, I might return.
