Breakfast at the new spot in New Braunfels was fantastic! The food and staff were top-notch, making our experience memorable. We chose to sit at the counter, allowing us to soak in the full atmosphere and watch the team in action. It was our second visit, and it was just as excellent as the first. Everything was consistently great. Trying out this new place was a smart move. Even though they just opened, they have everything running smoothly. The coffee was great, and the avocado toast hit the spot. I really enjoyed the blueberry lemon glaze, and the hash browns, though thicker than usual, were delicious. The employees were friendly and extremely helpful, which added to the overall positive experience. Despite the bustling crowd, they managed to keep everything organized and moving efficiently. It was unique how they operated as a team, eliminating the need for traditional servers, and ensuring everyone was well taken care of. Having a chat with the owner, Joe, was a bonus. He genuinely cares about the customers, and his wife Sarah made sure we got a table right away. The menu has some must-tries like the biscuits with duck fat gravy, breakfast egg rolls, and the fluffy blueberry lemon pancakes. It was busy when we visited on a Saturday morning, but their system of ordering at the counter first and then seating worked well. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, although the drinks seemed a bit on the expensive side. It did get a bit loud with the crowd, but overall, it was a great brunch experience. We'll definitely be back, and the team there truly deserves recognition for their excellent service.

Kora Kora Coffee is a chill spot with a contemporary vibe, perfect for bringing your laptop or just relaxing in the afternoon. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is great. The espresso is top-notch, which pleasantly surprised me. While the cappuccino I tried had overheated milk with too much air, I know that making a great cappuccino takes skill, and I see the potential here. The beans for sale looked promising, though they were over a month old since roasting. I’ll definitely be coming back and will recommend this little gem to others. It's a step up from Starbucks, offering wonderful coffee, pastries, and a good variety of food options. I do wish they offered smaller cappuccino sizes, as an 8oz would be perfect for me. Overall, it's a delightful spot in Gruene Village that I enjoyed on my trip from Austin to San Antonio.

This place was definitely buzzing with people, and for good reason. Even with a line forming before brunch opened at 11, they managed to keep the atmosphere lively and welcoming. The decor and atmosphere were nicely done, creating a pleasant backdrop for the meal. I was excited to try the brunch menu and it didn't disappoint. The brunch chicken with grits had grits that were notably flavored and cooked to perfection. The spinach artichoke dip and mushroom soup are always excellent choices, and the bistro burger is consistently satisfying. Our server was attentive and efficient, even during the busy rush, ensuring that our experience was smooth. It's a busy spot, but the service remained excellent, and the restroom was tidy, which is always a plus. I appreciate the clear, crisp iced tea that pairs perfectly with the meal. For dessert, the crème brûlée is a definite highlight. I also love the buttermilk fried chicken with jalapeño gravy—it's comfort food at its finest. My 1-year-old enjoys the kids' chicken with a side of fruit, which makes it a great place for family meals. Overall, I love coming here often. They consistently deliver delicious food and excellent service, which keeps me coming back for more.

Union Station Diner in New Braunfels is a gem for breakfast lovers. The food is really good, and the service is impressively quick. My wife enjoyed the blueberry pancakes with bacon, while my corned beef hash and eggs were spot-on. Our server Miranda was outstanding, checking in with us often to ensure everything was perfect. This was my first visit, and I was not disappointed. The food was awesome and came out fast. Kenny, our waiter, was very nice and helpful. I tried the Hungry Texan, which included a little bit of everything – I’ll definitely be back to explore their omelet options. We stumbled upon this spot while in New Braunfels and were thrilled with the experience. The small space makes for a quaint atmosphere with a charming train theme. I tried the #48 omelet and my wife enjoyed the biscuits, sausage, and gravy—some of the best she’s had in a while. The service and food were excellent, and I appreciated that the manager checked in on us. This place is easily 4 stars and worth any wait for a seat. Highly recommend for a delightful country breakfast experience.

I visited 2 Rivers Coffee for breakfast and had a pleasant experience. The coffee was really good, and I appreciated the variety of options available. There are numerous comfortable seating choices, which made my visit relaxing. The staff were friendly and added to the warm vibe of the place. Although the interior design wasn't quite my style, with its retro feel, I can see how others might enjoy it. The indoor plants give the space great energy, too. The atmosphere was fun and felt a bit like I was in a city like Portland or Denver, which is unique for Texas hill country. My only minor issue was with the mint mocha I ordered; it was lukewarm and didn't pack much flavor. The menu is somewhat limited, and prices are comparable to Starbucks. Despite these small points, the overall experience was nice. However, one thing that stood out to me over multiple visits was the lack of diversity among the staff and clientele, which made me uncomfortable. This has become a significant factor for me and affects my decision to return. If you're not bothered by this aspect, it's a great spot to enjoy some quality coffee in New Braunfels.

Tin Top Burger Shop is an adorable spot for breakfast in New Braunfels. The place has a lovely outdoor patio, an ice cream shop, and a kids' playground, making it a perfect spot for families. The prices can be a bit high, around $20 per person for a meal, but the experience is worth it. When ordering, you might want to request an all-beef burger if you're not a fan of the pork/beef mix in the patties. I tried the burger of the month, the Banh Mi Burger, and it was a delicious 5/5. My wife had the Swineapple burger, which was also a hit. Though some items like the $8 for two chicken nuggets seemed overpriced, the flavors made up for it. The Parmesan garlic tots were a standout, even if the regular tots didn’t quite meet expectations. The Hatch Burger and the jalapeño bacon burger were flavorful and juicy, making them highly recommendable. The restaurant’s vintage charm and cozy atmosphere are inviting, and the hidden ice cream parlor in the back is a delightful surprise. Overall, Tin Top Burger Shop is a charming spot with unique and tasty burgers that are worth the visit.

I visited Willy B's Brunch & Burgers Cafe for breakfast and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, perfect for a casual meal. I opted for the bunless burger with cheesy tots, and it was delicious. The food arrived steaming hot and the portions were generous—definitely worth it. The sweet potato fries were also a hit, perfectly cooked and flavorful. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. It's heartwarming to see a family-owned business where even the teenage sons pitch in. The cafe was clean and inviting, creating a comfortable setting for our meal. If you're ever in New Braunfels, I'd definitely recommend stopping by Willy B's. It's a fantastic spot to support a local Mom and Pop restaurant, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Krause's Cafe

Stepping into Krause’s Cafe for breakfast felt like finding a hidden gem in New Braunfels. The place has a wholesome and unique vibe that immediately puts you at ease. We were seated right away, and it was fantastic that they allow pets, so our dog could join us in a shaded spot. There was a small stage near the farmers market with live music that added to the lovely atmosphere. Our server was incredibly friendly and even brought a water bowl for our dog, which we really appreciated. She explained the history behind the banners throughout the halls, showcasing the families who originally moved from Germany to New Braunfels. It was a pretty cool piece of history. She also recommended checking out the cafe's original interior, which has remained unchanged since the 50s or 60s. For breakfast, I tried the Kartoffel poppers, pretzel with mustard and beer cheese, apple fritters, and a beer flight. The beer flight was fantastic, with excellent recommendations from our server. If you're familiar with traditional German food, I’d suggest leaving expectations behind and just enjoying the experience. The food blends traditional German cooking with a modern twist, offering something for everyone. The atmosphere was vibrant, especially with Yesenia and the Groove Doctors performing. It’s a diverse venue with plenty of inside and outside seating, making it perfect for hanging out with family or friends. Our kids had enough room to explore without being disruptive, and they loved the food as much as we adults did. The sausage platter came with amazing flavors—one juicy, one firm, and one packed with flavor. Chicharrones were spot on, the club sandwich was delicious with fresh ham, and the chicken sandwich was bursting with flavor. Overall, Krause’s is a fantastic spot for enjoying German food, a refreshing beer, and good company. The staff was helpful and friendly, checking on us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend Krause’s Cafe for anyone looking for a fun outing with great food and drinks.

Root Cellar Cafe is an absolute gem in New Braunfels for breakfast. We had such a delightful time enjoying our meal outdoors under the trees. Our son was thrilled with the tree house and swing, which added a playful touch to our morning. The staff was incredibly patient and kind, making us feel like they genuinely cared about our experience. The food was outstanding—delicious comfort food that was perfect for a relaxed picnic. It was convenient having everything packed up, especially if you plan to head out afterward. I highly recommend the savory Belgium waffle, paired with their bright and refreshing cold brew. I have a cinnamon allergy, and the staff was very attentive to ensure my meal was safe, which was incredibly reassuring. We loved our dinner experience so much that we came back for breakfast! The atmosphere is welcoming, with lovely decor, great music, and friendly staff, making the wait time pass by comfortably. Drinks were fantastic, with earthy and botanical flavors. La Sirena was particularly memorable. Everyone in our group ordered different dishes, and trying each other's meals was a treat. Root Cellar Cafe is a wonderful spot for both families and date nights. With delicious food and an inviting ambience, we are sure to return often.

If you ever have the opportunity to try Pat's Place for breakfast in New Braunfels, do it! The food, atmosphere, and owners are all great. I tried the chicken fried steak, and while the yellow chicken gravy wasn't my favorite, my wife and I enjoyed the experience overall. She ordered the fried fish, and although it wasn't the small, crunchy pieces we're used to at home, we still appreciated the generous portion. We also tried an appetizer of fried pickles, which were a bit salty for our taste, but the pecan pie for dessert was absolutely delicious—I'm definitely coming back for more of that. The service was fantastic, thanks to Kelsey, our server. She was kind, quick, and very attentive, making us feel right at home. The menu at Pat's Place is diverse, offering something for every mood, and the food was fast, fresh, and tasty. We've lived in New Braunfels for many years and finally decided to try this local gem, adding it to our list of go-to eateries. Be sure to come hungry, as the portions are huge. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you to the entire team for a wonderful dining experience!
The Birdhouse, Fancy Chicken & Fine Cocktails

The Birdhouse, Fancy Chicken & Fine Cocktails has easily become one of my favorite breakfast spots in New Braunfels. Nestled among the trees, the setting is cozy, and the food is incredibly comforting with amazing flavors. I tried the chicken fried chicken, and while the breading fell off a bit and was slightly salty, the flavor was still great, making it a delicious choice. The Nashville sandwich was just as good, and the corn fritters were out of this world – a must-have! On our first visit, we went with the brunch plates, Family Reunion and chicken/eggs Benedict, and everything was perfect. The chicken stood out with its rich flavor. I also can't resist fried green tomatoes, and theirs didn't need any sauce—they were savory perfection. The drinks were excellent, and the staff was friendly and helpful, patiently answering all our questions to help us curate the perfect lunch experience. Our waiter was attentive, keeping our drinks topped off and ensuring we had everything we needed. Enjoying our meal outside, we even spotted some beautiful deer at a distance, adding to the peaceful atmosphere. There were a few stray kitties around too, which didn't bother us at all. I’m definitely coming back for their Saturday/Sunday brunch menu. Everything was so delicious and inviting, making it a spot I look forward to revisiting often.

Taco Palenque in New Braunfels was a great spot for breakfast. The food was impressive, especially the Al Pastor street tacos and Caldo soup, which were delicious. Their rice is definitely five-star-worthy, and I highly recommend hitting up the salsa bar for toppings—the avocado sauce is amazing! The tacos were some of the best I’ve ever had, and the tortillas were incredibly fresh. Although I had a bit of a communication issue with the cashier due to her thick accent, the overall customer service made up for it. I did have to wait a bit for my nachos, which turned out to be just corn chips with queso, but the rest of the meal more than made up for it. It would be awesome if they could team up with HEB to sell their sauces and salsas because they’re that good. Great food and a welcoming atmosphere made for an enjoyable breakfast experience.

The Mess Around at Crosswalk in New Braunfels is a fantastic spot for breakfast. The staff is incredibly friendly, always chatting when they have a moment, despite being busy with the downtown crowd. Whether you're sitting indoors or enjoying the outside atmosphere, the location is perfect. The coffee and pastries are good, but my highlights were the Po'Boy sandwich and the Nashville Spicy Chicken Sandwich. It's a great spot for downtown workers, residents, and tourists alike. I've heard great things about their Sunday brunch, and it's now one of my favorite breakfast places for coffee or mimosas! The menu is reasonably priced, and the service is top-notch. I particularly enjoy sitting outside under an umbrella, watching the downtown hustle while having a chat with friends. My favorite menu item is the Dixie Lox & Bagel—being named Dixie, I like to think it's named after me! The staff, led by Jennifer, is fantastic and attentive. We enjoyed our kolaches and mess around hash outside with our dog, and the staff even brought water for him. The outdoor seating offers a cute view and comfortable tables. While I didn't eat everything, I saw some delicious-looking dishes being served. The danishes looked incredible, and the wait staff were always friendly and attentive. Plus, they have awesome Happy Hour prices from 3-6 p.m. with $2 house wine, Michelob Ultra, and Modelo. Overall, The Mess Around at Crosswalk is a wonderful spot with excellent food and atmosphere.

After seeing someone's leftover pancakes from Black Bear Diner, we just had to try it out for breakfast, and we weren’t disappointed! From start to finish, the experience was fantastic. Susie, our waitress, was not only attentive and informative but also incredibly friendly. We had a great chat about the restaurant, and it made me realize that not many people in our area know about this gem. The home-cooked meals and fresh desserts are truly something special. We’ll definitely be back! Even though it’s next to a truck stop, trust me, it’s worth the visit. The food is delicious, and they serve freshly squeezed orange juice, which was a delightful surprise. I ordered the blackberry stuffed French toast, and it was amazing—not too sweet, and the eggs were cooked just right. Megan, who also served us, was quick and efficient, and every staff member we interacted with was nice. Even though it was busy, we were seated in under two minutes, thanks to their great customer service. I’m eager to try their dinner menu next. This was hands down the best breakfast I've had. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a hearty meal. The quality far surpasses other places, and the food just tasted amazing. For four of us, it was under $100, including drinks, which is a great deal considering the portions were huge. We got the big volcano, chicken fried steak breakfast plate, the new breakfast club sandwich, and the biscuits and gravy plate. The biscuits, in particular, are outstanding. I tried Black Bear Diner for the first time with my friend Melissa, and we shared The Grizz. Those pancakes were divine! Plus, the bear-themed decorations throughout are very cute and add to the charm. If you're around, don't miss out on this place for a filling and satisfying breakfast!

I visited The Mess Around during a festival in downtown New Braunfels and found it absolutely charming. The outdoor bistro-style tables were inviting, and the indoor seating, including a bar, was cozy. I started with a strawberry basil mimosa that was so delicious I ended up having two! The fruity flavor with a hint of basil was refreshing and quickly became a favorite. While sitting on the shady patio, I enjoyed people-watching and a gentle breeze. For lunch, I chose the Chicken Tinga Loaded Nachos, which were savory with perfectly mingled flavors, instantly becoming a favorite. Mitch, our server, was fantastic—attentive, outgoing, and fun, making sure my friends and I had a great experience as we stopped by on our way back to Houston. The jalapeño cornbread and the mess around hash were both tasty. Sitting outside, we also indulged in some baked goods and coffee. My husband enjoyed a fresh-out-of-the-oven blueberry muffin, while I savored a spicy jalapeño kolache. The creative coffee options were a nice touch, and the friendly service added to the experience. Despite a minor hiccup where I felt a bit overlooked in service, I still love the atmosphere and the excellent food. It's a quaint spot right on the square that I highly recommend. Just a little more attention to all customers would make the experience perfect. Looking forward to my next visit!

New Braunfels Coffee is a lovely spot on the square that's perfect for breakfast. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the menu offers a variety of options to satisfy different tastes. I ordered a bagel with an egg and bacon, and they accommodated my requests perfectly. The food came out quickly and was delicious! I would definitely recommend it and plan to visit again soon. It's a great area to enjoy small bites and coffee, with an atmosphere and decor that feels like a modern Pinterest board. We really enjoyed our hot coffee and cheesecake, and the other baked goods looked tempting too. I'm excited to return and try more of their seasonal drinks. It's such a great place to grab some treats between activities, with a fantastic vibe that seems improved from a few years ago. Sitting here now, enjoying a lavender latte and a game of tic-tac-toe before dinner, I can't help but appreciate the comfy seating, great music, and the wonderful blend of Bossa Nova tunes with New Braunfels history. It's a bit pricey, especially the gluten-free options, but overall a nice experience.

Dropped by Herbert's on both Saturday and Sunday, and it was an excellent experience. The food is outstanding—my wife loved the Chalupa plate, and I really enjoyed Anthony's dinner plate. The drinks were cold, and the food was excellent. The service was top-notch, especially if you're lucky enough to get Chris as your server. He’s awesome! Our server was relatively new but incredibly sweet and attentive, checking on us often to make sure everything was perfect. The grandkids absolutely loved the playground, making it a great spot for families. Herbert's serves generous portions, and everything tastes amazing. You must try their enchiladas and salads. The place is always packed, and it's no wonder why—it's a wonderful Tex-Mex restaurant with great-tasting food. The only minor hiccup was when our waitress brought the ticket but forgot my daughter's grilled cheese sandwich and fries. Otherwise, everything was spot on. If you're new to the area, I definitely recommend giving Herbert's a try. It's a great place to enjoy a meal with friends and family.

I had a great experience at the Starbucks in New Braunfels for breakfast. The staff was incredibly sweet and attentive. Despite being busy, they made sure I felt valued as a customer. I ordered a decaf peppermint mocha, and while it was a bit sugary, it tasted great. Next time, I might choose a less sweet option, but that's on me for not checking the nutrition facts. One of the baristas even upgraded my drink to a trenta as an apology for the wait, which was very kind. The place was clean, especially the bathrooms, which is always a plus. I work nearby and used to order delivery, but going in made all the difference. I highly recommend this Starbucks for a pleasant start to your day.

I visited Roost for breakfast in New Braunfels and had a wonderful experience. The quality of the ingredients really stood out. I tried the Grilled Reuben, which was cooked to perfection, and the potato salad was amazing. The restaurant was very clean, and the iced tea was incredibly refreshing. My sister and I went on a Saturday around 1 pm, and it was a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. We ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a breakfast plate, both of which were delicious. The pasta salad we tried was also outstanding. The service was quick and our food arrived fast. The employees were friendly, and the service at the desk was polite and patient. The croissant sandwich was delightful, with a flaky croissant and perfectly cooked eggs. I did have a little issue with the brisket omelette I ordered; the brisket was sliced instead of chopped, which made it awkward to eat, and the pico de gallo lacked cilantro, which was surprising. However, the potatoes were nicely fried, and the sourdough was great, even for someone like me who doesn't usually enjoy sourdough. The ambiance wasn't perfect as it was a bit loud, and the wooden furniture amplified the noise. But despite these minor issues, the delicious food and excellent service made me eager to return. Overall, Roost offers a great breakfast and lunch option, and I definitely plan to visit again.
