What a great place to just randomly come across! My father owned a pizza and sandwich shop for over 40 years, and he would have loved everything about this place—good food, an industrial area, and the fact that it's tucked away. This place is Oceanside. I definitely recommend checking it out! The food was absolutely delicious and not super expensive. I tried the breakfast bagel and veggie panini with goat cheese; I highly recommend both! The coffee was good as well. Dogs are allowed on the patio, and they have water and even offered my dog some bacon. I will be coming back often. They took their time making our food, and it was perfect and delicious. I've found my spot for a perfect breakfast sandwich. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I didn’t try any drinks, and as someone who is lactose intolerant, I was a bit sad to miss out on the pizza-style panini. However, just the one sandwich alone was enough to have me thinking about the next time I’ll be able to enjoy it! I ordered the veggie panini and took off the cheese; the staff recommended adding mustard. It was a very simple sandwich but fantastic nonetheless. The staff was friendly, helpful, and quick with service. I was very impressed by how they handled a sudden influx of customers shortly before closing time. I've already recommended this place to others and will continue to do so!

First time visiting The Rose Cafe, and what a delightful experience it was! Normally, I'm not one to write reviews, but moving back to Oceanside, I really appreciate finding places my wife and I can enjoy together. The Rose offers a cozy atmosphere with delicious food and the unique touch of self-serve drip coffee. The decor perfectly matches the vibe of the restaurant, adding to the warm ambiance. The service was exceptional, with friendly staff who truly enhance the visit. My girls and I absolutely loved this spot! They savored their chocolate chip pancakes, while I indulged in the Dirty Tator Tots with goat cheese cream and pork belly—a highly recommended dish. We’ve found a new favorite spot! Executive Chef Katie is simply amazing. Her creations are next-level delicious and offer an elevated cafe experience. The welcoming service, charming cafe setting, and standout dishes like the pork and eggs make it a weekly must-have! On my first visit, I enjoyed a Honey Rose latte with almond milk, paired with a turkey breakfast sandwich on a croissant. The small side salad was tasty without being overly dressed, and the egg was just right. While parking might be a little limited, this place is a gem. I hope to return soon!
Brown Cup Cafe & Lounge

Wow, I can't believe I've lived in Oceanside for almost four years and just discovered Brown Cup Cafe & Lounge. This place is phenomenal! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the lovely owners, Raj and Valai, who made me feel right at home. The atmosphere is so laid back and inviting, with large lounge chairs and soothing jazz music that create a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle outside. I started my morning with a delicious nutty medium-dark espresso that really hit the spot, followed by a sausage, egg, and cheese bagel that was super yummy. My friend ordered the avocado toast, and we were both impressed with the flavors. The service here is fantastic; the employees are kind and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. On another visit, I tried the southwest panini, and it was wonderful. Every meal and latte I've had here has been top-notch. This cafe truly is a hidden gem in downtown O'side. I highly recommend coming here and experiencing it for yourself. Trust me, once you try it, you'll be coming back multiple times in the future.
The Cup Coffee
206 Wisconsin Ave, Oceanside
Mike Pittman
I was incredibly impressed with The Cup Coffee for breakfast Oceanside. The food, service, and atmosphere were superb. I stopped by after checking out merch at Atacama Surf Shop, and I'm glad I did. Despite the minimalistic menu, the selection was fantastic. The gentleman behind the bar was a one-man show, managing everything seamlessly, which was quite impressive. Their ingredients were high quality, and it was nice to see a good variety. I was on vacation and decided to get a coffee and an egg sandwich, which was simple but satisfying. The outside seating offers a neat ocean view, making it a great spot to relax. This place quickly became a favorite, as I ended up visiting four times in less than three days. The iced latte was excellent and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and chill, adding to the great vibes. The food hits the spot, perfect for breakfast or lunch, and the cheap beer is a bonus. One of the best coffee shops I've been to in California. I'll definitely be back.
Banana Dang Coffee
115 S Coast Hwy, Oceanside

Genaro Rodríguez
Banana Dang Coffee in Oceanside is a hidden gem that I absolutely loved visiting for breakfast. The unique banana flavor infused in their coffee is a delightful twist that you have to try. I ordered the banana latte with oat milk, opting for half sweetness, and it was just right – not too sweet but full of banana flavor. It's definitely a fun and different option if you're looking to try something new. The shop itself is cute and welcoming, with a catchy brand and great customer service. The staff took the time to explain their menu and share a bit about themselves, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. We tried the Dirty Banana Mylk and loved it even though I'm used to sweeter drinks. I also appreciated that they are not a dairy-based shop and offer a vegan menu, making it easy to find something for everyone. Their pastries looked delicious, and I couldn't resist picking up some of their merch to take home, especially the Joco Cups. The vibe is good, the shop is clean, and it's an excellent stop for a quick pick-me-up during a long drive. This place has definitely become a regular pit stop for us. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking it out – the balance and flavor of their coffee are something you need to experience for yourself. Plus, there's local art to enjoy and a chance to jot down your favorite things about Oceanside. Banana Dang Coffee is a fantastic spot with fun drinks and a welcoming atmosphere.
101 Bagels & Subs

101 Bagels & Subs in downtown Oceanside is a fantastic little hidden gem for breakfast. I tried the ham sandwich, while my husband had a roast beef bagel, and both were delicious. We would have liked a bit more meat, but I really appreciated the extra onions. Most places don't get it right when I ask for more onions, so that was a nice touch. The shop was clean and tidy, and we spent $27 for both meals and a drink. Their bagels are amazing, with perfect density and chewiness, and they still manage to be soft and flavorful. Honestly, they are the best I've had around here. Plus, the staff is friendly and memorable, making you want to return and try all the different styles they offer. You really won't be disappointed. The bagels are fresh, soft inside, and have a great texture outside. My wife loved her everything bagel, and I went for the nacho cheese one based on reviews, and it was amazing. Even the tomatoes tasted fresh, which was a nice surprise given the season. The coffee was good too, so they get an A++ for food and beverage. The service was good as well. We were greeted at the door, and the person at the counter was polite and welcoming. The prices seemed more than fair to me. The building isn't anything special, just a small seating area inside and some tables outside, typical for a small cafe bagel place. But everything was clean, which is what matters most. Overall, the food and service were great, and I’ll definitely be going back. I stopped by during the Thursday morning Farmers Market and shared a bagel sandwich with my son—it was delicious. We couldn't stop grinning while eating. With tons of great bagel options and quick service, this place is a must-try!
Buccaneer Cafe
1508 S Pacific St, Oceanside
Donna Quimby
This little oceanside cafe is a true gem! Nestled by a park and a small beach, it's the perfect spot for breakfast. I tried the breakfast burrito, and it was exactly what you want - stuffed and grilled to perfection, with sauce options on the side. The lemonade was super fresh, adding a refreshing touch to the meal. I also had the Avocado Toast with some Jasmine tea, and it was absolutely delicious. The cafe has a laid-back vibe, complete with good coffee and a selection of breakfast burritos and tacos. Though it was foggy this morning, I’m sure the ocean view is stunning on clear days. The free public parking next door is a big plus. The Buccster smoothie and California Breakfast Burrito are winners in my book. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is super casual. It’s hard to beat the location, where you can enjoy tasty bites while marveling at the Pacific Ocean. A must-visit spot in Oceanside!

**Start Fresh Cafe: A Gem in Oceanside** Start Fresh Cafe in Oceanside is a fantastic spot for breakfast. On a search for brunch, we stumbled upon this wonderful place, and it was a delightful experience. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and attentive, ensuring that our coffee cups were always full and all our needs were met. We chose to sit in the patio area, which added to the pleasant atmosphere, despite a little mishap with a bird and my flip flop. I ordered the New Mexico Omelet, which was surprisingly good, and my partner had the Farmers Scrambled. Both dishes were delicious, and the biscuits and gravy were outstanding—fluffy and flavorful. Even though the exterior could use some sprucing up, the café's interior is cozy and welcoming. The place is known for its big cinnamon rolls, and although we didn't try them this time, others seemed to enjoy them. Overall, it’s a charming breakfast spot, and we loved our visit, especially on Mother's Day. It has become a go-to whenever we're in town. Highly recommended for great food and exceptional service.

What a charming spot we stumbled upon at the harbor! Yes, there was a long line for breakfast, but it was completely worth the wait. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was exceptional. If you're visiting the area, make sure to stop by—even if there's a line, it's worth it. Plus, there are cute stores nearby to explore while you wait. The Lobster Benedict is a must-try! This charming restaurant is perfect for a relaxing brunch. And the Passion Fruit Mimosas? So good, you'll want more. The atmosphere, paired with scenic harbor views, made for an amazing experience. We tried several dishes—the Acai Hemp Bowl, Ultimate Bagel, Cuban Omelette, Buttermilk Pancakes, and my favorite, the Berry’s Crêpe. Each bite was fantastic and made for a perfect morning start. Afterward, a walk to Oceanside Beach was just what we needed to soak in the California coast's beauty. Visiting this place was a memorable experience and well worth the drive from the San Fernando Valley. The line may be long, but the quick and fresh food is worth it. Brunching by the marina is both wonderful and relaxing. I'll definitely be back!
Petite Madeline Bakery

Cute French bakery with a diner-like atmosphere—Petite Madeline Bakery in Oceanside is a delightful spot for breakfast! Even though I live in San Diego, I decided to take a train ride (about 30 minutes) to explore Oceanside and was not disappointed. Arriving after noon on a Sunday, I still wanted breakfast, and this bakery was a perfect find. The staff was incredibly friendly, which added to the warm experience, although my food took a little longer to arrive than expected, even with the place not being overly busy. That slight wait is the only reason I’d give it a solid 4 instead of a perfect 5 stars. I had the egg croissant sandwich with spinach, feta cheese, and tomatoes, priced reasonably at $11. It was delicious and very filling. I also enjoyed a side of their "lemon creama," which had the perfect tangy flavor for my sandwich. The ambiance is somewhat simple but very clean with a welcoming atmosphere. The workers are attentive and kind, making it a lovely place to enjoy breakfast. I was thrilled with the pumpkin chocolate chip cookie; it was soft, chewy, and truly fantastic. The Denver omelette was another standout dish. I’m excited to return and explore more of their menu, especially the delightful pastries on display. Until next time, I'm looking forward to grabbing coffee and more treats on my future visits. It’s refreshing to be greeted by smiling faces in the morning, and I can't help but talk about the great vibes, yummy desserts, and delicious food when I'm away. A must-visit for anyone in the area!
Mary's Family Restaurant

We walked over from our hotel as Mary's Family Restaurant is just blocks away from the pier and super easy to find. Breakfast here is more than just delicious food; it's truly an experience! We ordered the JUMBO cinnamon bun, Huevos rancheros, and an omelette to share. The portions are huge—easily enough to feed four people with the cinnamon bun and two entrees. The service was fantastic! If you're unsure where to have breakfast, you can't go wrong with Mary's. It's a great place for breakfast. I had the ABC omelet, which was amazing. The staff is friendly, and my coffee was never empty. Definitely try the giant cinnamon roll. The service was great, with excellent waitresses and cooks. The food was as expected, if not off-the-hook, but still a well-known spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at decent prices. This cute, vintage place is incredible! We visited our son in Oceanside, and he took us there for breakfast—the food was unbelievable! The french toast was incredible, and the omelet was to die for! The service was wonderful, super sweet, welcoming, and kind. I saw someone with a Cinnamon Roll and was so upset we went on our last day in Oceanside because I wanted to take one home. I can't wait for another trip to Oceanside and definitely many more to Mary's for breakfast. I'll try their lunch next time too. Thanks for giving us another spot in O-side to love! Be sure to try their homemade salsa—delish!
Swami's Cafe Oceanside

Alaura Anelus
Swami's Cafe in Oceanside is my go-to spot for breakfast, and it never disappoints. The brunch options are both delicious and filling, with the ABC omelette standing out as the best in town. Their smoothies are refreshing, and the coffee options are extensive, a pleasant surprise for any coffee lover. The service has always been excellent—fast and friendly, which makes every visit enjoyable. The restaurant's spacious interior and comfortable vibe make it a great place to start the day. I love the self-serve coffee bar while waiting and the system of ordering first before taking a seat. The atmosphere is inviting, with open rafters adding a warm touch. There’s plenty of seating, including a bar area, and the menu is impressive with lots of options. Though the outside of the building looks a bit dated, I'm glad we didn't let that deter us. Inside, the experience is much different and worthwhile. I had the lobster eggs Benedict, which was perfectly executed and bursting with flavor, leaving me wishing I lived closer so I could return more often. The seasoned potatoes were tasty, though I would have liked them a bit crispier. A side of bacon was a nice addition, cooked well and of good quality. Visiting with my family was a great experience—everyone enjoyed their meals thoroughly. I always come here when my best friend is in town. While there are other diners I prefer on occasion, Swami's always delivers good food and reliable service. For groups, I recommend getting a bottle of champagne as it includes two juice options, saving a little money. Despite my minor complaint about the potatoes being too chunky, Swami's Cafe is definitely a spot I recommend for a satisfying breakfast or brunch outing.
Pier View Coffee Co
300 Pier View Wy, Oceanside

Aaron Laney
During my trip to Oceanside, Pier View Coffee Co quickly became my favorite spot to start the day. Every morning, I made it a point to walk over and enjoy a coffee in their calm atmosphere with the windows open. The coffee is consistently great, and the service is excellent. I particularly enjoyed the caramel coconut, despite finding it a bit too sweet; the coconut flavor really stood out. The place can get a bit crowded, but sitting outside in the sun was part of what made it special. It became a staple of my morning routine on vacation. The variety of drinks and other options on offer is impressive, with prices that feel just right. My trusty go-to is the Chai Latte, which never disappoints. Pier View's location is fantastic, with easy street parking and just a short stroll to the pier and beach. Inside, the décor with black and white photos of original Oceanside adds a nice touch. The people-watching opportunities from the shop are a bonus. While I didn't get around to trying the food, the selection of bagels and breakfast pastries looked tempting. What keeps me coming back are the iced coffee and lattes, both of which are exceptional. The staff is always friendly and efficient, and even when it's busy, the wait for drinks is never too long. They also offer gelato and have a happy hour for beer and wine, which is a nice touch. Cheers to a great coffee spot in downtown Oceanside!
And Breakfast Burritos
1904 S Coast Hwy, Oceanside

Walter Ferreira
And Breakfast Burritos in Oceanside is a gem! I've tried the classic burrito, and I'm obsessed. It's one of the best breakfast burritos around. The balance of meat, cheese, and potato is perfect. Their salsas are fantastic, especially the red sauce—it’s a sweet and spicy paste that adds just the right kick. I usually head there in the mornings, and it's hardly ever crowded. The service is consistently good, which makes the experience even better. I almost didn't want to write this review because I love how it’s still somewhat of a hidden secret, but it's definitely worth trying. One Saturday, we stopped by around 1:30 pm and ordered online. There was no line when we arrived, and the small parking lot out front is super convenient. We tried the bacon surprise burrito with eggs, cheese, tots, and bacon. It was good but not quite the best—I think it could’ve been better with crispier tots. That said, if you're craving a breakfast burrito outside typical breakfast hours, this spot is a solid choice. The “double trouble” burrito was a standout for me—great flavor and impressive all around. The place was bustling on a Sunday morning, which speaks volumes. Next on my list is trying their grilled cheese in the afternoon. Hands down, one of the best breakfast burritos I've had in a long time. Their hot sauces are excellent as well. Highly recommend!
Broken Yolk Cafe

Judie Rodriguez
Our breakfast experience at Broken Yolk Cafe in Oceanside was wonderful. Nayo was our server, and he was attentive and kind, guiding my husband and me through the menu with great suggestions. We were not disappointed; everything was delicious, and our food arrived quickly. The service was excellent, and the meals were hot and flavorful. We were also helped by Thomas B., who was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was great, and we felt warmly welcomed. Suzie, another fantastic server, was incredibly informative about the menu, which was helpful since I tend to have a lot of questions. My husband appreciated how his coffee was always kept full, hot, and delicious. The variety of menu options is impressive, and even though the restaurant is popular, especially during weekend peak times, the wait was manageable at about 20 minutes. Overall, we were really impressed with our first visit and look forward to coming back whenever we are in the area. Broken Yolk Cafe is a fantastic option for breakfast in Oceanside.
Grandma's Restaurant

Maurizio Billee
Grandma's Restaurant is a gem for breakfast in Oceanside. Every time I visit, the service is amazing and the food never disappoints. One of the best parts is that there's never a wait to be seated, which is a huge plus. The staff always remembers us, even if we haven't been there in a while, making us feel like part of the family. We usually sit at the bar and have engaging conversations with the server, which adds to the great experience. I have to mention how perfect their breakfast is. The potatoes are cooked just right, and the omelette is fantastic. A standout dish is the chicken fried chicken, complete with thick and delicious gravy. It's comfort food at its best and exactly what I crave when I want a home-cooked meal without the effort. Grandma's is truly a place that never changes—and that's a good thing. It's consistently a delightful experience, and I look forward to returning for more wonderful mornings there.
The Breakfast Mug Oceanside

Thomas Saurav
The Breakfast Mug Oceanside is a great spot for breakfast. The food was almost perfect, and the staff made the experience even better. They offer unique options that really stand out. I ordered the Meal Lovers omelette, which was quite good, while my wife had the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were delicious, although the gravy was a bit too sweet for our taste. Despite the gravy mishap, I'm eager to return and explore more of their menu. They have a lot of interesting dishes I'd like to try, and their hot sauce and homemade sauce were impressive. Our server, Christian, was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and really added to our visit. I tried the duck breast eggs Benedict, which was a new one for me, and it was delicious. My husband enjoyed the eggs Benedict, and though I only had a salad, it was well-prepared and presented beautifully. The chicken and waffles were the best, and the breakfast sandwich was both large and tasty. Overall, it was a wonderful brunch experience, and I’m looking forward to coming back.
Einstein Bros. Bagels
2183 Vista Way, Oceanside
(760) 433-8330
Barbara Argueta
Einstein Bros. Bagels in Oceanside is always my favorite spot for a weekend breakfast. Despite being busy, the food consistently delivers. I love grabbing the farmhouse bagel sandwich or the sausage egg and cheese bagel sandwich. Their mini apple pie is a delightful treat, and the caramel macchiato iced is just perfect for a morning pick-me-up. It's an ideal choice for breakfast on the go while traveling, and a visit here feels like a special treat. Admittedly, there have been some hiccups on occasion, like an unhelpful staff member or an order mix-up. But generally, using their app to order ahead solves a lot of those issues, and you can even snag a free coffee with their rewards program. The diverse selection of bagels and other goodies makes it a great spot not only for breakfast but also for lunch. With both indoor seating and a mini patio, it's a nice place for a quick meal. Despite a few bumps, I'm certain I'll be returning for more bagel goodness.
Denny's
2273 El Camino Real, Oceanside
(760) 757-0345
Darius Haire
After an afternoon excursion, I took my mom to Denny's since she was craving a burger. Even though there was a Habit Burger nearby, we opted for Denny’s because we knew we'd get good food there. I ordered the Big Bird sandwich, which came with Swiss cheese, tomato, turkey, and lettuce on grilled Artisan bread—absolutely delicious! My mom chose the Bacon Cheeseburger. Both meals were paired with gigantic fries, and they were as tasty as they looked. Our waitress, Cebria, was attentive and thoughtful, bringing us extra napkins without us having to ask. That's what I call great service! We loved the spacious and clean oversized booth; it had plenty of room for us to enjoy our meal comfortably. The food was tasty and plentiful, and everything was reasonably priced. We’ve also enjoyed breakfast here with our family on Sundays. I recommend trying the senior omelet or the stuffed French Toast. This Denny's location has become our favorite because the staff is always kind and efficient. The food is consistently fresh and hot. Jeremiah, our server today, ensured we were well taken care of, keeping our coffee topped off and our orange juice refreshed. Carolina also provided excellent service during our visit on 4/24/2023. The atmosphere is clean and old-school, and the consistent service is excellent. The coffee was fresh and really good, proving that the $3.99 price is fair. I highly recommend this Denny's for its reliable quality and exemplary service.

The breakfast experience at Denny's in Oceanside was fantastic. The food was delicious, and the service was exceptional. The young lady who greeted us did so with a warm smile and seated us perfectly, even though we planned to stay for several hours. She was attentive, keeping our drinks full without rushing us. The food was fresh and tasted great, and the environment was clean and bright. Our server, Kevin, was friendly and ensured our order was prepared just right. This Denny's location has certainly stepped up its game, and I highly recommend it for a great breakfast experience.
