My first experience at BG's Cafe for brunch in Oxnard was memorable. Venturing into new territory, I decided to try the cactus omelette with their homemade spicy salsa. It was a delightful surprise. The biscuit served alongside was freshly baked, incredibly fluffy, and just what a perfect breakfast needed. The staff was very attentive, frequently checking in to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. It's refreshing to find a place that opens as early as 6:30 am, which suits my early bird habits perfectly. The service was impeccable, making the experience even more pleasurable. The menu selection impressed me so much that it warranted multiple visits. Each dish I tried, from the country breakfast to the apple French toast, was a joy. The apple French toast, in particular, was an exquisite treat, each bite a divine experience reminiscent of paradise. On subsequent visits, I indulged in a variety of dishes including tri-tip and eggs with hash browns, and the country fried steak and eggs. Both visits reaffirmed my initial impressions: fast service, delectable food, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The biscuits and gravy became a staple side order for me, perfectly complementing each meal. BG's Cafe has quickly become my go-to spot for breakfast on my days off. The combination of great atmosphere, excellent service, and fantastic food is unbeatable. The staff, including a particularly remarkable waitress, made each visit enjoyable. This weekend, we decided to check out Downtown Cafe by JL in Oxnard for brunch. Let me tell you, the experience was quite impressive. Nestled off 5th near the theater area, it's situated in a spot that's bustling but adds to the charm of enjoying a meal in the heart of the city. The atmosphere inside was cozy, and the cafe itself had a cute vibe that my family and I really appreciated. Now, onto the food - as someone who absolutely loves a hearty meal, this place did not disappoint. I dug into a traditional large American breakfast complemented by a café de olla that had my taste buds celebrating. The pancakes we ordered were so fluffy they practically melted in our mouths. Other members of my family tried the eggs Benedict and extra crispy chicken wings, both of which were mouthwateringly delicious. It's safe to say this place gets my vote hands down. The portions were generous, and though the potatoes and eggs could've used a tad more salt, the overall meal was thoroughly enjoyable. A big shout-out to the staff for their excellent service, especially to Julio and Lisseth, whose warm welcome made our experience even better. For anyone who's wondering, the service was just as remarkable as the food. Right from the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and seated without delay. Our server was fantastic, pointing out the house favorites which helped us in deciding what to order. On a recommendation, I tried the Chile Verde Omelette, which was simply out of this world. My wife opted for the Veggie Omelet and ended up requesting some of that irresistible Chile Verde sauce on the side. Adding to the whole experience was the owner coming out to greet us, sharing stories about the family-owned restaurant which added a personal touch to our visit. Based on this wonderful experience, it's a given that we'll be back. If you're looking for great food, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere, Downtown Cafe by JL is the place to be. Here's to making your food soul happy - till next time!

Visiting Hollywood Beach Cafe for brunch in Oxnard was a delightful experience, thanks to the local recommendation. Right from the get-go, the service was outstanding, and the food lived up to its delicious reputation. I opted for the Hangover breakfast, which included sourdough bread, eggs over easy, and a side of coffee. The portion was generous and the meal had a spicy kick that I absolutely loved. The coffee served was of superior quality, adding another layer of satisfaction to the meal. This place is truly a hidden gem in Oxnard, California, and I cannot recommend it enough for anyone looking to enjoy a hearty breakfast or lunch. The cafe might appear tranquil from the outside, but it's a bustling hive of activity once you step in, which only adds to its charm. On this visit, I had the pleasure of trying their burger, cooked perfectly medium, and complimented by a fresh salad. Despite a minor inconvenience of ongoing work during our visit, the overall experience remained unaffected. It’s also worth mentioning that the cafe is very dog-friendly, an added bonus for pet owners. From the cozy ambiance to the California beach vibes that the food presentations evoke, every detail contributes to a welcoming and satisfying dining experience. The Loco Moco I tried was exceptional, especially the savory mushroom gravy with caramelized onions that truly made the dish stand out. For those seeking a delightful beach cafe experience, this spot is unbeatable. It has easily surpassed my old favorite, Mrs. Olson's, in terms of food quality and atmosphere. Although parking can be a bit of a challenge, especially on weekends, the visit is absolutely worth the effort. Overall, this cafe deserves a solid 4+ stars for its well-prepared meals, decent pricing, and the unbeatable location by the beach.

First and foremost, as someone who fancies themselves an amateur chef and has critiqued numerous breakfast locales across Southern California, my experience at The Best Breakfast ranks it at the pinnacle of my list. Out of roughly 30 breakfast spots I've visited, this establishment earns my top recommendation. Both breakfast and lunch offerings were flawless, right down to the last morsel. My companion enjoyed a delectable chicken dish complemented by mushrooms, tomato, rice, and beans, while I opted for my usual - two eggs over easy, home potatoes, bacon or sausage, substituting toast for a pancake or two. My practice of drinking black coffee to assess its quality paid off, as I was impressed beyond measure. The authenticity and quality of the food, the ambiance, and the service, notably from our waitress Abbey, were unmatched. The establishment exudes a comforting, unpretentious vibe, serving hearty, home-cooked meals that I'd recommend to anyone in search of a satisfying dining experience. "Life Is To Enjoy!" - and this place proves it. Visiting early on a Sunday, we found ample parking and were greeted by prompt, welcoming service. Even a minor mishap with a spilled glass of water was swiftly handled. The portions and pricing struck a perfect balance, and the variety in the menu catered to all tastes. From the rich Chile Verde to the deliciously prepared chicken sandwich, every dish was a delight, although the beans, tortillas, and biscuits and gravy were just average, rounding the experience to a solid rating. The experience began with freshly brewed coffee, followed by wonderfully stuffed and flavorful dishes like the Cancun Omelette and Chile Colorado and Eggs. Each dish was fresh, rich, and authentically prepared, making it a memorable meal. However, the Cinnamon Roll French Toast ordered to-go was slightly disappointing, not matching the online images or expectations. Despite the dessert mishap, the overall dining experience was so remarkable that it still deserves a full rating. This visit was truly a delight, and despite the small setback with dessert, it did not detract from the overall excellent meal. I'm eager to return and explore more of their menu. Still a resounding 5 stars for this exceptional breakfast and brunch destination!

Came back to Pacific Cafe for brunch after a great first visit and decided to try the menudo this time. It was absolutely delightful, and the whole family found their dishes equally satisfying. Noticed a slight change with the horchata refills being $1.50, but that's a small detail I'll clarify next time. This place really knows how to pack flavor into every dish. My Portobello Chicken Sandwich was a standout, and my colleagues couldn't stop praising their choices either. The horchata was a hit, especially with the free refills during my first visit, and at such a great price too! The mention of Menudo available on Saturdays caught my attention, and yes, it lived up to the anticipation. The service here deserves a mention. Our server, Alexis, made sure we were well-attended to, with drink refills and all our needs met promptly. The breakfast burrito was another winner, loaded with pastrami and accompanied by perfectly cooked bacon and hash browns. This cafe has a cozy atmosphere, making it a charming spot for brunch. While it may not fit a large crowd, it's clean, well-decorated, and the outdoor dining area is a nice touch. Despite its small-looking menu, there's a variety ensuring there's something for everyone. Finding the cafe might be a bit tricky on the first visit since it's nestled in an industrial area, but it's absolutely worth the effort. Whether passing through or looking for a brunch spot before hitting the road, Pacific Cafe is a top recommendation for anyone who loves great food and service. Definitely a five-star experience!

Stopped by Cafe Amri for brunch while visiting family in Oxnard, and it was an excellent choice. We were looking for a casual but delightful dining experience and found exactly that. Nestled in a strip mall with plenty of parking, the convenience of getting there was matched by the quality of service and food on offer. Upon arrival, the service was prompt and courteous, offering a good indication of the pleasant experience to follow. Despite its somewhat generic atmosphere and an unusual emphasis on seating arrangements, the establishment was welcoming, and with it not being overly busy, seating was more flexible than expected. The culinary experience was nearly flawless. The cooks certainly know their way around the kitchen. They nailed the burger patty, cooking it to the requested doneness while adhering to food safety regulations. The fries were a highlight, showcasing a mastery of something as seemingly simple yet often mishandled. It's worth noting that portions were generous without breaking the bank, providing excellent value. The overall ambiance of the place, while not unique, was made comfortable with well-separated tables, ensuring privacy and comfort while dining. The standout, though, had to be the cinnamon rolls – absolutely delicious. From the fresh-tasting food to the perfectly cooked potatoes O'Brian, everything hinted at careful preparation and a dedication to quality. But what truly set Cafe Amri apart was the staff. Friendly, attentive, and efficient, they contributed significantly to the dining experience. Special mentions go to Lauren and Anna, alongside manager David, whose efforts ensure that guests receive top-notch service. Their warmth is a big part of what makes this place a standout in Ventura County. Eating outside was another pleasure, with cool air and opera music enhancing the atmosphere, creating a refined yet relaxed environment. It's clear why this place is considered a hidden gem in Oxnard. In summary, Cafe Amri is a fantastic spot for brunch, offering delicious food, excellent service, and a comfortable atmosphere at reasonable prices. It's definitely on my list for a return visit, especially for those remarkable cinnamon rolls. A solid 4/5 rating from me, and highly recommended for anyone looking for a quality meal in the area.

My visit to Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar for brunch in Oxnard was an unforgettable experience, largely due to some of the best hospitality I've ever enjoyed at a restaurant. My server, Eddie, was outstanding, and the manager made it a point to greet everyone personally, which really stood out to me. It's not often you see that level of attentiveness and care, so I'd rate the service an impressive 11/10. The happy hour menu here is particularly noteworthy. It's packed with a fantastic lineup of appetizers, and it's definitely worth arriving early to take advantage of it. The garlic parmesan chips were a standout for me; they're an absolute must-try. My visit was also a bit special because we decided to bring our puppy along for her first restaurant experience. She was delighted, to say the least. The staff were incredibly accommodating, bringing over a bowl of water for her without us having to ask, which was a nice touch. The menu variety is broad, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences. We didn't have to wait long for our meals, thanks to ample seating both indoors and on the patio. The patio is especially comfortable with heaters available, making it a cozy spot to dine. The theme of the restaurant is charming, with cute dog photos decorating the walls, enhancing the dining experience for dog lovers. Food-wise, everything we ordered was delicious. The sandwich I tried was flavorful, and the fries were particularly memorable for their crispiness. However, I'd steer clear of the banana pudding, as it sadly fell short of the mark with an artificial banana flavor that just didn't hit the right note. On another occasion, it was just the girls for a day out, and even the pickiest eater among us, my granddaughter, enjoyed her kid's hamburger meal. It's refreshing to find a place that caters so well to different dietary needs, as seen with the gluten-free options available. My choice of a cheeseburger with red mashed potatoes was spot on, and my daughter's rice bowl was equally enjoyable. Located conveniently off the 101 with ample free parking, the restaurant is easily accessible. The staff's readiness to go above and beyond to ensure everything is perfect makes every visit special. Despite dining inside due to the weather, the pet-friendly patio is a lovely option for those with furry friends. Overall, it's a fantastic spot with great food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere for both pets and people. Highly recommend it.

Henri's Cafe in Oxnard is my new favorite spot for brunch. From the moment I walked in, I was taken by the classic diner vibe, which set the stage for a fantastic dining experience. The place was bustling with people, which usually means a long wait, but to my pleasant surprise, the line moved pretty quickly. For my meal, I decided to go with the 2x2x2x2, and I wasn't disappointed. The portions were more than generous, making it a great value for the price. The bacon stood out in particular – it was cooked just the way I like it, hitting that perfect crispy edge without being too hard. Although not everything was a hit, the fish n' sticks truly made up for it. They were absolutely delicious, making it clear that I had to come back to try more of their menu. The customer service made the experience even better. Everyone was so welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. Overall, Henri's Cafe nailed the cozy, old diner feel with their amazing food and stellar staff. It's safe to say that this won't be my last visit. A real gem for anyone looking for a solid brunch place in Oxnard.

I had the pleasure of ordering takeout from Kiki's Kitchen for brunch while I was in Oxnard, and it was a delightful experience. Opting for chilaquiles and a vanilla latte, I found the staff to be incredibly friendly and attentive, even though I didn't dine in. Despite being a small business, Kiki's Kitchen offers comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, which adds to its charm. The chilaquiles had great flavors, though a word to the crisp-lovers, the chips were a bit softer than expected. But that did little to diminish the overall taste. Searching Google for a great breakfast spot in the area led me to this hidden gem, and it certainly paid off. The food was delicious, the service friendly, and the atmosphere welcoming – all the ingredients for a fantastic brunch experience. On another visit, I tried the breakfast panini, which featured ham, egg, avocado, and a special kind of mayo. While it looked promising, it fell a bit short of expectation, primarily due to the scant amount of mayo. However, the coffee was fresh and hot, and the atmosphere clean and inviting, making for a very satisfying visit. Fast and great service is a constant here, making it hard not to come back. Eating at Kiki's Kitchen has become a regular treat, with visits three or four times a month. Both the food and service have consistently been excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. It truly is a hidden gem in Oxnard, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality food in a great atmosphere. I certainly hope to come back many more times.

Visited The Shores Restaurant for brunch in Oxnard and was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. Initially, skepticism was the mood, given its location as the sole dining option within walking distance from the Oxnard Shores homes. However, any doubts quickly vanished once the meal began. The adventure started with an appetizer, the BBQ CarniFlatbread, which was an absolute delight. The bread was hot and fluffy, smothered in a tangy BBQ sauce and topped with fresh bell peppers and juicy carne. It was not just a feast for the taste buds but for the eyes as well. This dish set high expectations for the rest of the meal, expectations that were certainly met and exceeded. For the main course, opted for the Mac & Cheese, described on the menu as pasta in a secret dirty blonde cheese sauce. Decided to go with the bacon-loaded option. This dish was nothing short of heavenly, with the cheese sauce being rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The pasta was cooked to perfection, making it an unforgettable dish. My husband, intrigued by the carne used in the flatbread, chose the Carnitas Tacos for his main. The tacos were generously filled, perhaps a bit too generous with the feta cheese, but nonetheless, they offered an explosion of flavors that were both unique and satisfying. The service at The Shores Restaurant was top-notch, with our server being both attentive and quick, ensuring our drinks were never empty. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, complemented by outstanding live music. Even with a rowdy crowd nearby, the restaurant's owner ensured our experience was not hampered, showcasing the excellent service and attention to diners. All in all, the visit was a wonderful surprise. The combination of great food, an engaging staff, and a fun, family-centered atmosphere made for a remarkable dining experience. The Shores Restaurant in Oxnard is definitely a place worth visiting more than once.

As a trucker, I found myself with some unexpected downtime waiting to deliver a shipment of blueberries just a stone's throw away from Casa Grande Cafe. Deciding to give it a shot for brunch, I was not disappointed. I ordered Machaca con huevo, frijol, arroz, along with chips and salsa. While the machaca was slightly on the salty side for my taste, and I could've used a bit more salsa, the overall flavor was impressively good. To my delight, the food was served surprisingly quickly, even though I walked in just minutes before they were closing. The prices felt fair for the quality and quantity of food. What I particularly loved about this place was the food's authentic taste and how it reminded me of homemade meals. The chilaquiles, especially the chile verde ones, were outstanding - spicy, flavorful, and simply perfection. I would rate them a solid 10/10, making Casa Grande Cafe the only spot in Oxnard that nails this dish for me. The service was another highlight. The staff was wonderful and kind, contributing to the restaurant's warm and welcoming atmosphere. There's also this beautiful painting on the wall that caught my eye, adding to the charm of the place. Having stumbled upon this gem, it's quickly become my new favorite restaurant in the area, and I'm eager to come back and try more from their menu. For anyone looking for that homemade food experience, I couldn't recommend Casa Grande Cafe enough. From their friendly service to their mouth-watering dishes, my first visit left a lasting impression. The chile verde chilaquiles come highly recommended from my end. I'm definitely planning a return visit.

We went to the IHOP in Oxnard around 10 am and had a wonderful brunch experience. Our waiter, Javier, was incredibly friendly and welcoming, particularly with my toddlers who were excited to order for themselves. He was very attentive, constantly checking on us to ensure our drinks were full and we had everything we needed. The cleanliness of the place really stood out to me - from the spotless bathrooms to the clear glass and tidy parking lot. Traveling from Florida, we noticed we were the only Caucasian people there, but it didn't make any difference to how we were treated. The staff was amazing - welcoming, friendly, and made us feel at home. This just confirms my impression that IHOP is great for its reliably good pancakes, fast service, and comfortable environment, not to mention the very reasonable prices. However, it wasn't a flawless experience. There were crunchy pieces in the eggs and the pancakes had a salty, almost sour taste, which wasn't just noticed by me but also by other members of my party. Additionally, an interaction with a staff member over to-go containers felt unnecessarily rude, overshadowing the otherwise decent service. Despite the excellent service from our waiter, an unpleasant encounter with the hostess upon arrival significantly affected our overall experience. Her unwelcoming attitude and behavior were not reflective of the service standard we expected based on the rest of the staff's performance. This inconsistency in service is something that would make me think twice before returning.

Our visit to Ox & Ocean for brunch was an exceptional experience, substantially enhanced by our server, Aga. She was phenomenal, elevating our dining experience significantly. The flavors in each dish burst with freshness, and the presentation was both inviting and elegant. While the scallop dish with carrots came across a tad too salty, the rest of the meal was flawless. The Crab croquette was a hit, and the fries accompanying the O&O Burgers were delectable. Another recommendation from Aga was the Strawberry Hand Pie for dessert, which did not disappoint. It's worth noting that dessert isn't usually my go-to, but this was a game-changer. For anyone in the vicinity or staying at the hotel, this place is a must-visit. Nestled inside a resort, its ambiance is as inviting as its menu. The service is outstanding—prompt, courteous, and genuinely friendly. The Eggs Benedict, Hamburger, and a unique jalapeño fritter with corn kernels left an impression for their creativity and taste. The hamburger was a standout, perfectly executed in every aspect. The beer selection, though not extensive, was thoughtfully curated. Having dined here multiple times, the consistency in quality and service keeps impressing. Aga, our server during the latest visit, was perhaps the best we've ever had. Her humor, attentiveness, and kindness were unparalleled. I cannot emphasize enough how incredible this place is—it’s become my favorite restaurant in the area. On a personal note, staying at the hotel offered the perfect opportunity to try Ox & Ocean. The Ahi Crudo was a delightful start, followed by the most delicious Oxtail Bao Buns. Concluding with the Strawberry Hand Pie, my meal was a perfect portion and incredibly satisfying, despite its premium price point. The excellent service mirrored the quality of the food, rounding out a dining experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable meal.

Had the chance to enjoy brunch at Tomas Cafe in Oxnard, and it was an experience worth sharing. Walking in, the atmosphere caught me immediately; it was family-friendly and just radiated a warm vibe. The service stood out right from the start - attentive and welcoming, setting the stage for a promising meal. Deciding on what to eat was a challenge with the variety on offer, but went for the Mexican breakfast, a Cinnamon roll, and the Spanish Omelet. The portions were generous, to say the least, and each dish was a delight. The Mexican breakfast was savory and fulfilling, the cinnamon roll was arguably the best I've ever tasted, and the Spanish Omelet was cooked to perfection. Accompanied by great coffee, fresh orange juice, and a side of the freshest fruits and vegetables, it was a meal to remember. Not to forget the amazing thick cut bacon - it was a highlight in itself. Everything tasted fresh and seemed prepared with care, a rarity that's much appreciated. While the service was top-notch, there was a small letdown when requesting a minor substitution from fries to hash browns, which was unfortunately declined. A little more flexibility in that regard would be appreciated, even if it came with an extra charge. However, that didn't detract much from the overall positive experience. The food quality and the atmosphere more than made up for it. For anyone looking for a place to have brunch in Oxnard, Tomas Cafe is definitely worth the visit. Just maybe, get it to go if you highly value service customization.

Went for brunch on a Saturday, and despite it being busy, we managed to get a table outside right away. The weather was perfect for outdoor seating, enhancing the whole dining experience. One thing that stood out immediately was the fresh-squeezed orange juice, a refreshing start that promised good things. For my meal, I opted for the Caramel crepes, which were absolutely delicious. It’s hard to find crepes done right, but these were spot on. 🤤 Even though the place was packed, the service didn't skip a beat - attentive and efficient throughout our stay. I'd definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking for quality brunch options. The food is flavorful and well-seasoned, hitting all the right notes for a satisfying meal. However, a note on pricing – it is a bit on the higher side. For a party of two adults and three children, the bill came up to $100, which is slightly above what we usually spend on similar outings. The ambiance of the cafe adds to the overall charm, with an inviting outdoor setup that makes you feel like you're dining in a serene garden. They also offer an enticing selection of drinks, including a tempting array of mimosas that are hard to resist. Overall, my experience was positive, marked by tasty food and good service. The only drawback was the pricing, but considering the quality and variety, it's understandable. A solid 4-star outing and a place I'd happily recommend to others. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty meat option or something sweet like the Strawberry Nutella stack I was eyeing, Vineyard Cafe has you covered. Plus, don't forget to try the fresh orange juice – it's a must!

Visited Golden Egg Cafe for brunch and it was a delightful experience. The food here is super good, and that's something to keep in mind throughout this entire review. From the delicious dishes to the friendly servers, every aspect of my visit was enjoyable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our coffee cups were never empty and were always at hand to cater to our needs. Sitting outside on the patio is a must-do. The Harbor breeze and views add to the overall relaxing atmosphere of this place. Although the cinnamon roll didn't quite hit the mark for me, the rest of the meal more than made up for it. The corned beef hash was particularly memorable, boasting generous portion sizes that are both satisfying and reasonably priced. It’s a relief to find a spot where the value matches the quantity and quality of the food served. I also got a taste of the banana bread which, despite being too full to enjoy at the moment, looked promising enough to warrant a return visit. However, not everything was perfect. A subsequent pick-up order didn't live up to expectations with mistakes in the order and underwhelming portions. The veggie omelette was not only small but missed the additional cheese I requested. My coworker's banana bread had issues too, from being undercooked to containing chunks of unincorporated flour. Other items like the 3 cheese omelette were also disappointing. Despite these hiccups, my love for their brunch offerings remains untarnished. It's rare for me to voice negative comments about a dining experience, emphasizing how these instances stood out against an otherwise excellent track record. I noticed the restaurant's website was not up to date – a small detail that, if addressed, could enhance the customer experience even more. In summary, while my experiences have been a mix, the positives at Golden Egg Cafe, such as the fantastic food, superb customer service, and the inviting ambiance of the outdoor seating, have left a lasting impression. I look forward to my next visit, hopeful for consistently great meals and perhaps an improved online presence for the cafe.

Had a short visit in Oxnard and made it a point to try Mrs. Olson's for brunch, not just once but two days in a row! The setting by the water is simply unbeatable. Sitting outside, soaking up the sunshine while enjoying a meal was an experience in itself. And let's talk about the food - absolutely amazing! The Beach Benedict comes highly recommended. Everything on the menu looked tempting, and the Denver omelet was just bursting with flavors and ingredients. It's definitely a must-visit spot if you're in the area. UPDATE: Went back for breakfast recently, and it was a letdown. It seems there might be a new cook, and the quality has unfortunately dipped. The hot chicken sandwich and my omelet did not live up to expectations. The hash browns felt like they were devoid of any moisture, almost like plastic, and the sourdough toast wasn't even properly toasted. The service started off well, with prompt attention and quick ordering, but then things took a turn as we watched tables that arrived after us get their meals first. This visit was disappointing, and it might be a while before considering a return visit. Old review: The meals used to be delightful, with commendable service to boot. The setting, offering both inside and outside seating with lovely harbor views, made for a perfect breakfast spot. Although they've had a change in the kitchen, and it seems to have affected the quality of some basics like omelets and toast, there are still positives. The view remains gorgeous, the service attentive, and certain items like the potatoes and coffee maintain their quality. Opting for just the potatoes this weekend seemed like the safer choice after a previous disappointing omelet.

Even the busboy, who was on his very first day, had such a great personality that added a lovely touch to our experience. The live band playing added a fantastic ambiance to the whole brunch, making the atmosphere even more enjoyable. And when it comes to the food, it was just perfect - delicious and surprisingly affordable. So far, I've only had breakfast here, but that alone has left a great impression. Service has always been top-notch, every single time. The setting of Waterside is absolutely gorgeous, especially the outdoor patio. It offers stunning views of the harbor, boats, and mountains, creating a perfect backdrop for any occasion. It was our anniversary, and we couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate. My wife opted for the salmon while I went for the burger, both of which were scrumptious. The bar staff was also incredibly friendly, and their drinks certainly hit the spot. On a special dinner visit, we were served by Savannah N., who was exceptional. Her warm, attentive, and friendly service really made our dinner feel extraordinary. The grilled salmon I had was moist, flavorful, and the portion was generous enough for leftovers. My wife enjoyed the fish and chips from the happy hour menu, which was a huge, perfectly prepared serving. We also tried the clam chowder and mushroom bruschetta, both of which were delightful. All in all, Waterside is a place I'd highly recommend. The combination of excellent service, delicious food, and a beautiful setting makes it a must-visit. We're definitely looking forward to going back!

My brunch experience at the Oxnard Denny's was surprisingly delightful, considering the initial impression the place gave off. Admittedly, the diner does show its age and can come across as less than pristine. They seemed to be under a bit of strain from being understaffed, which might explain a few hiccups during the visit. Despite these setbacks, the food quality managed to shine through, maintaining the standard I've come to expect from Denny's elsewhere. The standout for me was the All-American Slam, which didn't disappoint. The hash browns, in particular, were a highlight of the meal – perfectly crispy and flavorful, rounding out a satisfying dining experience. It's comforting to know that even when faced with service challenges, the kitchen can deliver dishes that meet expectations. While the service left room for improvement, with instances of orders being mixed up and a sense of rush from the staff, the core of what I look for in a brunch spot - good food - was solidly met. The atmosphere might benefit from some attention and an increase in staff could smooth out the service wrinkles, but overall, the meal itself was enjoyable. It's a reminder that sometimes, the quality of the food can speak louder than the surroundings it's served in. Given the deliciousness of the hash browns and the classic Denny's dish I enjoyed, I would consider coming back. It's clear there are areas for improvement, but the potential for a great diner experience is there.
