Old Town Caffe

Old Town Caffe in Pasadena is a delightful spot for breakfast. The moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and made to feel right at home. The atmosphere was inviting, and I appreciated the care put into every detail. The breakfast burrito was packed with flavor, and the waffle I tried was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside—just perfect. Their drinks are fantastic too; the espressos are excellent, and the tea selection is impressive. I opted for the London Fog, and it was a treat. One of the highlights was the presentation. The food and drinks looked as good as they tasted, with exquisite latte art and beautifully plated dishes. I also had the pleasure of trying the Salmon Bagel, Sweet Latte, Ube Frozen drink, and Egg Avocado Toast, all of which exceeded my expectations. The staff went above and beyond to make my visit enjoyable, accommodating my request for an outside table and later offering us a spot inside when it became available. Their friendliness and attentiveness were a definite plus. If you’re in Pasadena, I highly recommend checking out Old Town Caffe. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that nourishes both body and soul. Don’t miss out!
Art Lunch

I visited Art Lunch for breakfast in Pasadena and had a great experience. I ordered the Classic Croissant Sandwich toasted. While it was a basic sandwich, it was pretty tasty. My friends tried the waffles and the English breakfast and found them average, but they appreciated the affordable prices. The atmosphere was relaxed, and we were lucky to find a table without waiting. The service was efficient; we ordered at the counter and received our food in about 10 minutes. A nice surprise was the complimentary lemonade drink, which was refreshing. Although the sandwich felt a bit greasy halfway through, I enjoyed it overall. The presentation of the food was appealing, and the prices were budget-friendly. The staff were attentive and ensured we had everything we needed, which was a nice touch. If you're looking for a quick and affordable breakfast in Pasadena, Art Lunch is worth a visit.
Kings Breakfast & Burgers

Kings Breakfast & Burgers is a fantastic spot in Pasadena! The atmosphere is vibrant, especially with the amazing mural of Homero; it really adds to the charm. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, making every visit enjoyable. I've been twice, and there's never a wait, which is a huge plus. The food is generally delicious, with generous portions at really reasonable prices. The breakfast burritos and chilaquiles are standouts, and the smash burgers are definitely worth trying. I was impressed with their asada fries, which come in a big portion that I could barely finish. The spicy salsa on the side is a great touch for those who love a kick. The fried chicken sandwich is another favorite, full of flavor and paired with perfectly seasoned, crunchy fries. While I miss the sipper fries, there's still plenty to love on the menu. It’s also convenient that they have a parking lot, which makes the whole experience hassle-free. Overall, Kings Breakfast & Burgers has become a go-to spot for me in Pasadena, and I can’t wait to try more items off their menu. The atmosphere, friendly staff, and tasty food make it a place I’m excited to return to.
union street french café

My girlfriends and I went to Union Street French Café for brunch today, and it was the best experience! The food was delicious, and the service was top-tier. It was our first time visiting Pasadena, and we are eager to come back. Chantal, your café is truly exceptional. The warmth, ambiance, and incredible food made us feel at home. Your generosity and kindness added a special touch to our visit. Every dish seemed to tell a story, transporting us straight to Paris. The croissant was epic; crispy on the outside and soft inside, it was the best I've had in LA. Le Bonbon was beyond amazing. I found this spot on Google Reviews, and it truly deserves five stars. It was a fantastic find! The café itself is cozy and very pretty. The food was delicious; I had the Croque Madame with chicken (LaFarmiere?), and my wife had the Tartine. Both dishes were unique and delightful. For drinks, we enjoyed a bold iced coffee and creamy hot chocolate. If I lived here, I would definitely return. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!
Russell's
30 N Fair Oaks Ave, Pasadena

Russell’s is an absolute must for breakfast in Pasadena! We made a trip from the South Bay and decided to stop here before heading to the Huntington Library. My husband went for the Denver omelette, while I enjoyed their French toast with eggs and bacon. I asked for some fresh strawberries on the side, and they were more than happy to accommodate my request. We had to wait about an hour for a booth, but it was totally worth it! The food is outstanding, especially the country fried steak and eggs—honestly, one of the best breakfast dishes I've ever had in the area. The service here is consistently great, and you’ll find the bathrooms spotless, which is always a plus. They also offer parking validation for up to 90 minutes, which is super convenient. Russell’s makes you feel right at home. The staff is amazing, and I love visiting with my wife because it's like stepping into a familiar place. Breakfast here is always a treat, and I highly recommend it! If you swing by, try "The Big One" for a well-rounded meal. It includes sourdough with milk butter, hash browns, two over-easy eggs, and waffles with a fruit bowl—definitely satisfying without being over the top. Situated in the charming old town of Pasadena, Russell’s has a rich history dating back to its original opening in Long Beach in the 1930s. Now settled in Pasadena for over 30 years, it’s the perfect spot to kick-start your day with a quintessential American breakfast.🌹
NOSTALGIC CAFE
27 E Holly St, Pasadena
(626) 989-3905
Mmrico Jimenez
Nostalgic Cafe is an adorable spot for breakfast in Pasadena. The vintage-style decor and cozy atmosphere create a perfect setting to relax and enjoy a meal. The brown sugar latte with oat milk I had was expertly made, and the lavender coffee stood out as smooth and aromatic—definitely unforgettable. The seating is charming, and the staff is genuinely friendly. While I felt the bagels were a bit overpriced, the pastries were large and delicious, and the breakfast plate, especially the scrambled eggs, was quite satisfying. The music selection adds to the pleasant ambiance, making it a wonderful place to unwind and soak in a nostalgic vibe. Love the vibe and the coffee!

You had me at homemade banana bread. The breakfast was perfect! I was too hungry to take a pretty picture, and my husband refused to let me anyway. And the prices? Lower than I've seen on the west coast. The place was PACKED. Only the locals seem to know. Now, I do too! Super food! Couldn't recommend it enough! Pancakes are like the greatest cake ever! Every breakfast I've ordered is delicious! The atmosphere is okay—it's a little coffee shop and nothing more. They close at 2 pm, but takeout is a great option too! If you like breakfast, you'll love this place! It's a wonderful spot for breakfast or lunch! The staff is polite, and the portions are great. Prices are very reasonable, and the palm tree-lined street is beautiful for photos. One of our favorite breakfast spots in Pasadena! Try the homemade banana bread. This was my first visit to Pasadena, California, and my Airbnb host recommended this local spot. It did not disappoint. Simply put, the food was delicious, with great portion sizes at a good price. Our server, Laura, was friendly and attentive. The vibe was very old school—in the best way. Make sure to sign up for the waiting list at the back exit of the place, not through the front door, or you will definitely stand out. If you are in Pasadena, this is a must for a hearty, delicious meal at a good price. I recommend the Farmer’s Breakfast. Also, the banana bread was the perfect mix of sweet, great texture, and a little bit of salty from the butter—10/10 for that item.
Cos & Pi

Mehrdad Bevilacqua
Wow! I stumbled upon Cos & Pi just 20 minutes before their closing time, thinking they were open till 3. Despite my timing mishap, they greeted me warmly and welcomed my late order. I had initially heard about their burgers, so I decided to give them a shot. Let me tell you, their burgers are incredible! I accidentally ordered the Chopper burger instead of the Cosmo, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions ever. The Chopper burger blew me away with its combination of bacon, avocado, bacon jam, cheddar, and what I think was a gruyere cheese crisp, all on a brioche bun with mixed greens and grilled onions. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the presentation was stunning. It’s easily in the top 3 burgers I’ve had, and I’ve eaten my fair share across the States. I can’t wait to return and try the blue cheese burger. Apart from the burgers, I also tried the avocado toast. It looked beautiful, though a bit salty for my taste, and like many things these days, slightly pricey. Nevertheless, I've been coming here since 2018, and the food quality remains top-notch. The avocado fries are a personal favorite, and while I miss the monkey bread, they still have plenty of delightful options. If you enjoy a bit of spice, their habanero hot sauce is a must-try. Their breakfast is always a hit, especially the breakfast burrito. While it can get busy, it’s worth the wait, as you can really tell they prioritize quality ingredients and flavors. This was our first time trying their offerings after hours, and the burgers were cooked to perfection. Skip the drive-through and enjoy a peaceful meal at Cos & Pi; you won’t be disappointed!
Millie's Cafe
1399 E Washington Blvd, Pasadena
(626) 486-2407
Ron Ryals
Millie's Cafe is always bustling and for good reason. The vibe is lively, and even with the crowds, it's well worth the wait. I arrived right when it opened at 8 AM and finding a parking spot was a breeze, plus it's free, which is a great bonus! The food is consistently delicious. The B.E.L.T sandwich was a standout, absolutely delicious. And hats off to the eggs Benedict—cooked to perfection. The quality of the food really shines through, and it's clear they care about what they serve, even in a classic diner setting. The highlight of my visit was definitely the service. Despite a minor hiccup with the country-fried steak, which I don't recommend—tough to cut and not pleasant—the staff was nothing but accommodating. The waitress was kind, and the manager quickly resolved my issue, allowing me to change my order with no hassle. Their friendly demeanor and professionalism made the experience enjoyable. Even though the roasted potatoes had a bit of a fishy taste, it didn't overshadow how much I enjoyed the rest of my meal. Millie's commitment to quality, even with a few slip-ups, makes it a place I'll keep coming back to. If you're in Pasadena and don't mind a bit of a wait, Millie's Cafe is a solid choice for breakfast.
Superba Snacks + Coffee

Superba Snacks + Coffee in Pasadena is a fantastic find! Located conveniently next to my workplace, I was drawn in by their sign about the breakfast burrito. Naturally, I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. The burrito was delicious, featuring a unique touch with cheese on the outside. Although there were unexpected pico de gallo and black beans, the staff was incredibly understanding and quickly made a new one tailored to my preferences. The restaurant is clean, with well-stocked bathrooms, and offers a variety of pastries, drinks, and snacks. It’s a bustling spot with a relaxed, vibrant atmosphere, perfect for breakfast or a quick coffee stop. I’ve also enjoyed their espresso and alfajor, which were delightful. The service is consistently friendly, and the pantry section is a bonus, offering everything from coffee beans to kombucha. Superba Snacks + Coffee is the ideal place for a casual meal or a quiet moment with a coffee. With great food and excellent service, it’s definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area.
Andy's Coffee Shop
1234 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena

Israel Lala
Andy's Coffee Shop in Pasadena is a solid spot for breakfast. The menu is extensive and served all day, with good lunch options too. Portions are decent, prices fair, and the food is pretty good. The sausage was a highlight—super tasty and juicy. Our waitress was very attentive, and my son got his pancakes quickly. The black coffee was great. They have high chairs, booster seats, and plenty of booths. The fruit bowl was impressive, with more than just the usual honeydew and grapes. The omelette was packed, and the salsa was flavorful without being too spicy. I enjoyed my brunch, especially the delicious Chilaquiles. Despite some unexpected issues, I'd recommend Andy's Coffee Shop and would definitely go back.
Sage Regenerative Kitchen Pasadena
41 Hugus Aly, Pasadena

Tom Currsinger
Sage Regenerative Kitchen in Pasadena is a fantastic spot for breakfast. The food is genuinely good, and my wife, who recently switched from veganism, was thrilled to see well-sourced meat and dairy options on the menu. It's nice to experience the same kind of excitement she usually feels when there's a vegan section. However, there are a few things to note. The tallow fries were a bit soggy, though still tasty, and I do miss some of the older menu items. The prices are on the high side, which makes sense given the quality, but it's definitely something to keep in mind. Overall, our experience was delightful. The restaurant is clean, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The brunch menu was varied and delicious, with each dish expertly crafted. It was a pleasure to dine here, and we're already thinking about our next visit. If you're in Pasadena and want a great meal with plenty of vegan options and some well-sourced meat and dairy, Sage Regenerative Kitchen is the place to go. The atmosphere and food make it worth the visit, despite being a bit pricey.
Urth Caffe Pasadena
594 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena
(626) 844-4644
Unique Pestova
Urth Caffe Pasadena has a great atmosphere with plenty of space, especially in the back. It's a good spot for breakfast at any time of day. The service is fast, though you do need to order inside before finding a table. I tried the avocado toast, which was good, although I thought the bread could have been better. During my visit, they were out of a couple of items we wanted to try, so I ended up with the pot roast sandwich. It was solid, but I did question its $22 price tag. On a brighter note, we split a hazelnut chocolate cake, which was delicious. The vibe with tea lights was really nice, making for a pleasant dining experience. For breakfast, I tried the corn waffle and breakfast burrito. The burrito was a bit soggy, and the waffle didn’t quite match its cornbread description, but it was still edible. I also had the Urth Green juice, which was delicious. My mom enjoyed her breakfast sandwich and croissant, and there are a lot of gluten-free options available. The portions are generous, and the food is worth the near $20 per plate. The spinach and feta omelet was a standout for me. There’s ample parking behind the building, and overall, despite a few hiccups, it remains a place I enjoy visiting, especially when it's not too hot outside.
Shakers
601 Fair Oaks Ave, South Pasadena
(626) 799-9168
Bonnie Kumra
The service at Shakers in Pasadena is truly exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the staff, from the host to the waitress to the manager, made us feel welcome and well-attended. It had been a while since I last visited, and my wife often praises the food from her lunch visits with coworkers, so we decided to have an early dinner here. We were seated promptly, and after looking through the menu, my wife chose the Shaker Delight burger with sweet potato fries, while I opted for the California club with a fruit cup. Watching the World Series opening ceremony featuring Fernando Valenzuela added to our experience, and the meals arrived quickly. My California club sandwich was packed with flavor—avocado, bacon, turkey, and toasted wheat bread all harmonized perfectly. The creamy avocado and mayo were particularly delightful. Choosing the fruit cup over fries was a healthier choice that I didn’t regret. My wife loved her burger, especially the sweet potato fries with an addictive dipping sauce. The portions were generous, and our server, Thamy, was exceptionally kind and friendly. Although everything was great, the bathrooms could use more frequent cleanings. Despite that, we wholeheartedly recommend Shakers for a delicious meal. The diner vibe was inviting, and though the coffee was a bit watery for my taste, the overall experience was overwhelmingly positive.
Crepes de Paris

Julia Gaines
This place is a real gem for breakfast in Pasadena! The atmosphere is cute with a lovely outside area to sit and enjoy your meal. The food was delicious and came out very quickly, which I appreciated. Their French iced coffee is incredible—definitely a must-try! Selena was super helpful and provided great service, making the experience even better. My wife, dog, and I had a pleasant brunch here on a Saturday with no crowds, and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. We tried the "breakfast special" crepe with bacon on the side, and it did not disappoint. I’m already looking forward to going back and trying their savory crepes. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem!
Marston's Pasadena
151 E Walnut St, Pasadena
(626) 796-2459
Rod Carino
I had a lovely breakfast at Marston's Pasadena. The patio seating was a peaceful escape from the busy indoor scene and offered a calm start to the day. My omelette was a delicious choice, though I found the pulled pork eggs Benedict a bit lacking in flavor. The small parking lot was a minor inconvenience, but there was some street parking available which helped. I wasn't thrilled about the 3% credit card surcharge, but it didn't overshadow the fantastic breakfast experience. The food was well-prepared, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Their menu is full of classic breakfast options, and their French toast is a standout—one of the best I've ever tried. My California omelette tasted great, though it was a bit on the oily side, and the potatoes could have been cooked more evenly. Despite that, it's a charming spot for breakfast. During a recent visit for Sunday brunch, I explored some non-breakfast items. The regular burger, crispy chicken sandwich, and rio grande tuna melt were all delicious, with the Jicama salad as a refreshing side. I'd suggest adding caramelized onions and chipotle peppers to the tuna melt—it made a big difference. The service was a bit slow, even with fewer customers in the restaurant, but the servers were helpful and nice. Marston's Pasadena is a cozy spot with classic American fare, and overall, it's a great place for a filling meal.
Popping Yolk Cafe
88 W Colorado Blvd Ste 102, Pasadena
(626) 345-5161
Tayler Jones
Hands down a great experience! At first, I thought it was a bit pricey for brunch, but unlike many places, it is well worth it. We got the Nashville Chicken Sandwich and the Popping Yolk Burger, and we were highly impressed. The portions were large, which included the best roasted potatoes and a regular garden salad. My boyfriend, visiting from Ireland, said those were the best potatoes he’s had since visiting! Everything was seasoned well and the burger was cooked just right. The staff were friendly and helpful, and you order before you sit down. I went purposely on a rainy day, and there was plenty of seating around 1:00 pm. The menu selection was great, and I will definitely want to try one of the Benedicts on my next visit. Will definitely come back again! It's a perfect spot for brunch! We ordered the cinnamon apple French toast, which was more like a churro than French toast. We also ordered a classic Eggs Benedict, which was great, and a crab cake Benedict, which was also good. The orange juice is freshly squeezed and was delicious. This place has amazing breakfast options. I got the Ube-stuffed French toast with blueberries and coconut. Oh my goodness. It was the most delicious thing ever—not too sweet but very filling. I also got the mango green tea, and it was very refreshing, going well with what I ate. Highly recommend going here!
Intelligentsia Coffee Pasadena Coffeebar
55 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena
(626) 578-1270
Nancy Korpoi
Intelligentsia Coffee in Pasadena offers a bright and airy environment that's perfect for working remotely or catching up with friends. The interior is spacious, with plenty of seating and a relaxed atmosphere that invites you to settle in with your laptop or a good book. While their sandwich and breakfast options are limited, the coffee and bread are quite tasty. They know how to make a good cup of hot coffee, whether you're into a classic drip or a more detailed pour-over. The flavors are rich and clearly showcase their quality beans. One downside is that the bathroom is located downstairs and can be a bit tricky to find. If you're planning to visit near closing time, it's worth noting that some pastries might be sold out and the staff can seem a bit indifferent, but the core coffee experience remains solid. As part of the Peet's Coffee family, Intelligentsia in Pasadena maintains its unique vibe and offers a good spot for a quality coffee break.
Corner Bakery
345 S Lake Ave Suite 107, Pasadena

Jorge Beltran
I decided to try Corner Bakery for breakfast in Pasadena on a Friday evening when the surrounding cafes were pretty busy. Corner Bakery seemed like a great choice, and it did not disappoint. I went for the meatball panini, and it was delicious. The food is lovely and tasty, with a menu that feels fresh and healthy, all at great prices. One of the things I really appreciate is their flexibility; you can customize your order to suit your taste, like switching up the bread, and they always get it right. While the breakfast sandwich portions might be on the smaller side and don't include sides, the quality makes up for it. It's a reliable spot for a good panini or salad. I've been dining at different Corner Bakery locations since early 2004, and it consistently delivers a pleasant experience. Their effort in implementing COVID-19 measures to protect customers is commendable. Overall, Corner Bakery has become one of my favorite places to enjoy a great meal.
