Bendita Arepa

I had a fantastic experience at Bendita Arepa for breakfast in Paterson. The moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by their friendly staff. The restaurant is spacious with a welcoming seating area and nicely decorated. I tried the chicken empanadas, and they were incredibly tasty and well-seasoned—very filling too. The entire environment is clean and inviting, making it perfect for families with a great menu for kids. The food was delicious, from pastries to lunch items, and I was particularly impressed by the Mini Paisa, Empanadas, and Arepas. They come with amazing sauces like pink sauce and cilantro mayo, which were a delightful addition. Our server was attentive, polite, and professional, ensuring we had everything we needed and offering more drinks as needed. The ladies who work there are kind and helpful, making the whole experience even better. They make all their sauces fresh, and the prices are very reasonable. Bendita Arepa is truly a gem, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a tasty and satisfying meal.
Cyndia's

Cyndia's in Paterson is a breakfast gem that absolutely lives up to its glowing local reputation. My partner and I were visiting Jersey and, guided by Yelp, discovered this delightful spot. The food was fantastic, particularly the chicken and waffles, and the pricing was very reasonable. We did have to wait to be seated during a busy time, but the wait was worthwhile, and booking online can help avoid this. The service was standout—Lissa, our waitress, was wonderful, and Cynthia, the owner, truly made us feel at home. The family-friendly atmosphere and excellent hospitality make it a must-visit. We find ourselves making the 20-minute drive almost every weekend, and it never disappoints. Even during rush times, the staff goes out of their way to ensure a great experience, like with coffee and creamers. Their specials, like the pumpkin cinnamon pancakes with cream cheese frosting, are always a treat. On a brunch visit, the Alla Celina and the Flank Steak and Eggs impressed us with their quality and prompt preparation. Highly recommend stopping by Cyndia's for a satisfying breakfast or brunch experience!
Brothers Fried Fish and Chicken

Brothers Fried Fish and Chicken in Paterson, NJ, is truly a secret gem. The waffles are hands down the best I've ever had, and I love that you can get breakfast, lunch, or dinner any time of the day. Everything on the menu is consistently amazing. The owner is always willing to chat, which adds a personal touch to the experience. This spot is easily one of my top choices for breakfast in the city. The food is always fresh and hot, and the fried catfish is outstanding. Faris, who runs the place, is genuinely kind and ensures customers are satisfied. His family helps out, and it makes the atmosphere warm and welcoming. I had the Grits, Eggs & Catfish Combo, and the portion was generous and fairly priced. They even stayed open later just so I could place an order. It's hard to find better service than that. This is definitely my go-to spot for breakfast now.
DOWNTOWN GRILL
301 Main St, Paterson

Victoria Colpitts
Downtown Grill in Paterson is easily one of the best spots in all of Passaic County for breakfast and lunch. The food is fresh, clean, and absolutely delicious. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. While in the area, I discovered this new cafe and decided to try their classic cheeseburger. It was cooked fresh right in front of me, and the portion was generous for the price. The burger was well done, just as I ordered, and the sweet potato fries were perfectly seasoned and fresh. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I highly recommend calling 10 minutes ahead if you're planning to pick up lunch. I'm looking forward to coming back soon for more. Keep up the good work, Downtown Grill!
Nouri’s Restaurant

Abdulraheem Mcdaniel
Absolutely loved this place. It's a charming spot to relax and enjoy Middle Eastern delicacies. This was a surprise find for me and has definitely become my go-to spot. The service was friendly and prompt, and the food was both delicious and generously portioned for the price. Very pocket-friendly! Everything we ordered was fresh and incredibly tasty. I highly recommend it! The place serves halal food and has a nice ambiance. We tried the zaatar pie, meat pie, and shrimp platter, which were all delicious. The person behind the counter was kind and helpful, even giving us dessert on the house. It was my first visit, and I wish I lived closer! George and his staff made us feel like family, and the fresh and delicious food was a bonus. We started with Zaatar fries, which were crispy and perfectly seasoned. They’d be even better with a side of lebneh for dipping. Next, we enjoyed a stunning platter, the mixed grill for two, beautifully presented with tasty grilled meats and veggies. There was more than enough to share, and everything was thoughtfully prepared. The garlic sauce was irresistible; just make sure everyone else has some, too. George and his team truly belong in this business; it felt like having a home-cooked meal at a cousin's place. The Iced Mint Lemonade is a must-try—served frozen, it's a real treat. I had a great experience, especially with their Mediterranean pastries. The Zaater, Eggs, and Meat pastries were amazing, and the falafel was exceptional. The classic Arabic songs playing in the background created a wonderful vibe. Service was spot on. Highly recommended!

Aric Tyler Werlein
I had an amazing breakfast at Grill 77 in Paterson, and I can't help but rave about it. The dining room is spacious, which is a nice surprise, and I look forward to trying everything on their menu. There's even art for sale, and I'm tempted to get one of the paintings for my home. This place has quickly become a favorite spot for my husband and me. We head there every other weekend for breakfast because the staff is absolutely wonderful. They are friendly, welcoming, and really know how to brighten your day. The music they play is fantastic, featuring hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s—it truly adds to the experience. The food is delicious with perfect portion sizes, and the prices are just right, making it a great morning stop.
Correita El Paisa
356 21st Ave, Paterson
(862) 239-9391
Abigail Bowen
Correita El Paisa is a consistently great spot, no matter how often we go. The wait staff is always friendly and helpful, especially for anyone not familiar with their delicious Colombian specialties. Everything is freshly made to order with large portions and reasonable prices. It's a very kid-friendly place too, which is a big plus. On my last visit, the service was fantastic, and the food came out quickly. I ordered their lunch special, which included a bowl of excellent chicken soup, white rice, fried chicken, sweet plantains, and a salad mixed with coleslaw, plus a soda, all for just $8.50. The food had an authentic homemade taste, and it brought back great memories. Each time, the portions are generous and offer great value. While I would love to see homemade empanadas instead of the frozen kind, the overall experience is always positive. Correita El Paisa is definitely a place I will keep returning to for a satisfying and comforting meal.
Cositas Ricas De Paterson
535 21st Ave, Paterson
(973) 345-5777
Melanie nan
Cositas Ricas De Paterson is a gem for breakfast in Paterson. The food here is outstanding, and the service is always friendly. It's one of the best Colombian bakeries in all of New Jersey. Their selection is impressive, featuring everything from empanadas de cambrai to buñuelos, pandequeso, and a fantastic variety of breads. The milhojas are my absolute favorite. Pair any of these treats with a good Colombian coffee or a delicious chocolate, and you're set for a great start to your day. One thing that could enhance the experience is if they had a website or a Facebook page where you could check out the daily specials. It would be convenient for both customers and staff. The building could use some updates, like a new roof and a fresh coat of paint on the outside. There's also a loitering issue that could be resolved with a simple "No loitering" sign. Despite these minor points, the place is fantastic for tasting authentic Colombian dishes like sancocho and bandeja típica colombiana. The food is absolutely amazing and ranks at the top of my list of Colombian cuisine in the state.
Cafecito Restaurant
27 Park Ave, Paterson
(973) 782-6975
Guillén Becker
Cafecito Restaurant offers a wonderfully modern and cultural environment that stands out in Paterson. The ambiance is refreshing, especially in a city where such spaces are hard to come by, and it's a plus that parking is available. While I found the food a bit overpriced—particularly the orange juice, which was more expensive than my breakfast sandwich—the quality is undeniable. The Cuban sandwich was a tad salty for my taste, but overall, the food is authentic and has a distinct upscale twist. The highlight of my visit was the attentive and welcoming service from one of the young ladies at the front, which made up for some of the other customer service gaps. The experience at Cafecito is unique; the dishes come as they are, and that adds to the authenticity. Despite the rain and some hiccups with ordering, the desire to enjoy their offerings pushed me to head out. The Mangu Knockout and Turkey Club Sandwich were both delicious and freshly made, adding to the reasons why this spot is among my favorite places for Dominican food. The combination of ambiance, service, and quality food makes it a worthwhile visit.
Athens Coffee Shop
63 Broadway, Paterson
(973) 977-9007
Scotty Hale
Athens Coffee Shop used to be one of my go-to breakfast spots in Paterson because of their reasonably priced menu. However, my experiences there have gone downhill. On one visit, despite being pregnant and visibly hungry, none of the three waitresses bothered to attend to my table for 15 minutes. To make matters worse, someone stole food off my plate when I went to the restroom, and the staff seemed indifferent. The final straw was when I ordered two "Big Breakfast Platters" with specific requests, only to find that my order was wrong and I was overcharged. When I called to address this, the staff was dismissive and unhelpful, refusing to issue a refund. The food quality is lacking—French toast is flavorless, bacon tastes old, and the chicken seems like it’s straight from a box. I've also noticed troubling inconsistencies in their pricing, and the constant presence of people begging inside makes for an uncomfortable dining experience. The customer service is poor, with the staff acting as if serving is a burden. The environment outside the shop is also unpleasant, with frequent disturbances. Overall, Athens Coffee Shop no longer lives up to its former reputation, and I cannot recommend it.
Elmwood Park Diner
375 Market St, Elmwood Park
(201) 796-6641
Carrie Gowda
I dined at Elmwood Park Diner twice while in the area for work, and I had a generally positive experience. Breakfast here is top-notch—definitely one of the best around. Despite being a popular spot and getting crowded, the wait time is surprisingly short, usually less than the quoted 15 minutes. The breakfast menu offers all the basics at reasonable prices, which is great for anyone looking to start their day with a satisfying meal. I tried the two-egg platter with coffee and orange juice, and everything was good, including the home fries. It's pretty standard diner food, but I would definitely come back to try other items. The lunch options are also impressive, especially the panini grill. It's certainly worth exploring for those mid-day cravings. What really stood out to me was the staff and service. They were amazing—attentive, efficient, and genuinely nice. The team seemed very aware of their surroundings and kept things running smoothly. It was also nice to see the regulars being greeted warmly, adding to the diner’s comfortable and homey vibe. The ambiance is what you'd expect from a classic diner, true to itself and its purpose. Overall, this is a great diner with ample portions and low prices, perfect for stretching your dollar. While the menu is extensive, sticking to diner classics like hamburgers is a safe bet. I’m definitely coming back again!
Al-Basha Quick Serve
1076 Main St, Paterson
(973) 345-3700
Armando Elleithy
I ordered catering from Al-Basha Quick Serve for a breakfast event with 25 guests, and it was a fantastic experience. They provided more than enough food, and everything was delicious and warm, having been freshly cooked and packed for an 11:00 am pickup. My guests really enjoyed the meal, and I'm thrilled I chose them for this occasion. The Mix Mashawi and Grilled Whole Chickens were perfect for the birthday lunch celebration. For lunch, I decided to visit the spot and called in my order for a half chicken. Parking was conveniently available on the street nearby, and when I walked in, the food was ready at the counter. After paying, I took my meal to go, and once I started eating, I found the food to be very tasty. The hummus I ordered was a delightful addition. Overall, it was a decent experience. The quality of Lebanese food here is exceptional, the best I've tasted in the USA. Whether you choose to dine in or take out, there's good space to sit and eat in the to-go area. The restaurant maintains a high level of cleanliness, and the food is consistently tasty. The staff, including Anwar L, was friendly and ensured that my takeout order was packed securely and ready right on time. This place is a must-try when you're in NJ.
Toros
1083 Main St # 1, Paterson
(973) 742-6877
Parveen Olusuyi
Toros for Breakfast in Paterson offers a genuinely authentic experience. The first thing you'll notice is the inviting atmosphere—it's a nice, clean spot that promises a good meal. While visiting for dinner on a Saturday, I was impressed by their combination kabobs. They were served at the perfect temperature, with the beef and lamb being particularly juicy and tender. Although the chicken kabobs didn't quite meet my expectations, the overall taste of the dishes was satisfying, capturing the essence of classy Turkish cuisine. The bread deserves a special mention—it's delicious and complements the meal wonderfully. Situated in a popular location on Main Street, the restaurant is quite the local attraction, though parking can be a bit tricky depending on when you go. All in all, Toros for Breakfast has managed to maintain its flavor and quality over the years, making it a reliable choice for a taste of Turkey.
Taskin Bakery & Cafe

Taskin Bakery & Cafe is an absolute gem! Open 24/7, it’s the perfect spot to satisfy your cravings at any time of day or night. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the incredible aroma of freshly baked goods and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Their selection of Turkish pastries and treats is phenomenal—everything from flaky baklava to savory pastries is prepared to perfection. You can tell the quality and care that goes into each item. The service is excellent, and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. If you’re looking for authentic Turkish flavors or just a cozy bakery to relax and enjoy, Taskin Bakery & Cafe is a must-visit. Highly recommend!. Well established Turkish bakery and cafe that offers around the clock service. You can get variety of breads, pastries, and desserts. Cafe has more space spaces than similar establishments around. Only down side is parking. Parking is limited. They have extra parking space on upper level.. Great Turkish Bakery and Cafe. There is ample seating, and many options for pastries and other Bakery items. I love the interior, as they have done an incredible job at making it a nice atmosphere to sit in to enjoy some coffee and a pastry. Try mix matching the baklavas. They are great! If you are having the baklava, do have it with their tea! The combination just tastes perfect! For vegetarians, try the spinach and cheese borek.
Triple Luncheonette
186 5th Ave B, Paterson
(973) 742-8060
Yadi Jacks
Triple Luncheonette is a fantastic spot for breakfast in Paterson. The prices are incredibly affordable, and you get a lot of food for your money. The place has been around for years, and their breakfast is consistently good. The service is always excellent, with the staff being kind and friendly. They cook your food quickly and to order, so there are no complaints there. While the place could use a renovation, it's a minor detail considering the great value and quality of the food. It's a great spot for quick, fast, and delicious meals without stretching your budget. Highly recommended!
Sultan Artisan Bakery
1010 Main St B5, Paterson
(862) 239-1913
Tosha Rodriguez
Sultan Artisan Bakery in Paterson has become my favorite spot for breakfast and treats. Their signature baklava is simply the best I've ever had, perfectly sweetened and incredibly delicious. The staff is always friendly and eager to help, making my visits even more enjoyable. Their selection of desserts is impressive; I managed to find some Dubai chocolates I had been searching for over a month, which was fantastic. During my visit, the staff generously gave us free cookies, which was a lovely gesture. I purchased baklava, cookies, rice pudding, and fig walnut pudding, and each item was outstanding. Looking ahead, I plan to buy cakes from here for future birthdays because they look so vibrant and appetizing. Despite being there at 11 pm on a Saturday, the place was bustling, showcasing their vast selection of unique desserts, from cookies and pastries to cake slices, baklavas, and mousse. The indoor seating is spacious, with a clean and welcoming atmosphere, and the prices are reasonable considering the quality. Every item we tried was unbelievably good, and the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a colorful display of what I call pastry heaven. Their Turkish sweets like baklava, Kenefa, and tulumba are fresh and tasty. The ambiance is cozy, clean, and refreshing, though I do wish the slices were a bit more economical. Despite that, I wholeheartedly recommend Sultan Artisan Bakery and can't wait to visit again!
La Tia Delia
28 Market St A, Paterson
(973) 523-4550
Speed Saylor
I stopped by La Tia Delia for breakfast while visiting the Paterson Falls, and it turned out to be a great choice. The food was delicious with unique flavors that really hit the spot. I went for the Causa Rellena, and it was fresh and tasty. The menu had a lot of interesting options, which makes me want to come back and try more. Although not much English is spoken, the staff was friendly, and the experience was worth it. Prices are good, and even though parking is a bit tricky, I'd say it's definitely worth a visit.
MAIN CORNER RESTAURANT
332 Main St, Paterson
(973) 396-2747
Evans Lisa
Breakfast at Main Corner Restaurant in Paterson was a delightful experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The environment was clean, and I was impressed by how well-prepared and flavorful the dishes were. I particularly enjoyed the focus on herbs rather than salt, which really brought out the natural flavors of the food. The beef stew and Dominican spaghetti were standout dishes, and their homemade hot sauce was truly exceptional. While some of the food on display seemed like it might not be freshly made every day, what I ordered tasted fresh and delicious. Although I found the prices a bit on the high side, especially paying $17 for a soup with a small portion of rice, the quality of the food and service made it a worthwhile experience. It's definitely a place to consider if you value flavor and friendly service.
Abc
978 Main St, Paterson
Ann Lettman
Visiting ABC for breakfast in Paterson was a fantastic experience. The customer service was excellent, with the staff showing great care despite a slight language barrier. The rice pudding was absolutely delicious, and the mixed BBQ platter was perfect for sharing among a group of four. We paired it with an appetizer platter, choosing hummus, babaghanoush, and labaneh, all of which were delightful. Be aware, there is a 15% service fee automatically added to the bill, but it's worth it for the quality and service provided. Everything from the ambience to the food was outstanding. The portions were generous and full of flavor. The lamb, chicken, and kebabs were perfectly cooked, and the accompaniments like rice, salad, and cheese rolls were just right. A highlight was the recommended pumpkin dessert, which surprised me with how much I enjoyed it despite not being a fan of pumpkin. This local Turkish spot in Paterson is clean, bright, and a hidden gem. It's reminiscent of Nigerian restaurants with its hearty portions. I tried the Iskender, a dish with lamb and beef, and it was both tender and flavorful. The only downside was a bit too much yogurt for my liking. The service, though a bit overwhelmed, was friendly. I did notice they don't provide service plates, so you might need to ask for them as needed. Overall, the food is incredible, and the atmosphere is inviting. I can't wait to return and I'll be recommending this place to everyone. Alhamdulilah, what an amazing spot!
