You can get quite close to the river's edge, though the falls themselves are wisely protected due to potential danger. The park provides excellent viewing areas from both sides of the river, and it wasn't too crowded during our visit, which made for a pleasant experience. Everyone we encountered was friendly and respectful. Even though we visited during a dryer season, the falls were still an impressive sight. I can only imagine how magnificent they are in full force during the spring. We were able to explore a lot of the park and even do a bit of rock climbing, which was a great adventure. The spray from the falls was refreshing, and our nine-year-old had a blast, calling the rolling water his "huge bubble bath." The floating bubbles and the water's scent added to the fun, creating a magical atmosphere. The turbine house locks were another interesting feature, sparking my curiosity about each lock's story. We also appreciated the convenience of the Falls Overlook Cafe, where we could use the bathroom and saw that they offered ice cream. Despite having been to Sioux Falls many times since 1979, this was my first visit to the falls, and I'm so glad I finally made the trip. The falls and the park exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend stopping by, even if you're just passing through. It's a beautiful spot that shouldn't be missed.

There’s outdoor seating in both the front and back, which adds to the charm. The restaurant is situated in the heart of downtown Sioux Falls, a cute area with plenty to explore, like Blarney Stone and Josiah’s Cafe. The staff was wonderful, even allowing me to stay after closing to finish something important, which meant a lot. All four of us were satisfied with our meals, and the portions were quite generous. Honestly, we could have done with smaller servings! The menu has a great variety of diner-style comfort foods, sandwiches, burgers, chicken, salads, and classic milkshakes and desserts. During my visit, I enjoyed a fantastic burger melt with fries, and my colleague had the Reuben, both delicious with no complaints whatsoever. Our server was friendly, efficient, and professional, making us feel welcome on our first visit. The diner is clean and well-maintained, located right downtown on Phillips Avenue. I can't wait to return to Sioux Falls and visit Phillips Avenue Diner again. Next time, I'm definitely trying a milkshake! I totally recommend Phillips Avenue Diner. This time, I was with my husband and granddaughter, and we were able to sit outside on a beautiful late spring day. The food was great, not necessarily tremendously large portions, but enough so that you don't walk away hungry. I tell everyone about this place and look forward to our next visit. We enjoy coming here when we're in town! The service is always top-notch, the food is excellent, and the prices are right! I love their breakfast nachos. They're open until 3 p.m., so the "all day" part isn't quite accurate, hence my joking suggestion of "Half Day Café." I highly recommend it for all your food needs! The staff is welcoming and attentive, which sometimes feels rare in today's customer service culture. The food was delivered quickly, and it tasted great. I also loved the lunch menu, and my family enjoyed the experience. This place is fantastic! The A.M. nachos are a must-try and so, so good. I'd say 99% of the food here is absolutely delicious. I only say "99%" because I haven't tried everything yet, but so far, it's amazing. With my family of eight, accommodation is never a problem—they have huge tables. Botski's is a fantastic "hole-in-the-wall" bar and restaurant. The food is always delicious, especially the chicken. The atmosphere is lively, and you can tell it's a favorite hangout for many in the neighborhood. It's the perfect place to watch your favorite sports game or to order takeout for a cozy night at home. On my first visit, I had the fried chicken, and it was excellent. My only suggestion would be to include plastic silverware with to-go orders. I ordered two chicken meals with a mix of dark and white meat, and the chicken was crispy and well done. My sides were coleslaw and potato salad, which were alright, while my wife's beans and fries were flavorful and well-prepared. Both meals came with Texas toast, and with two cokes, the bill was just under $19. I can't wait to try their breakfast next. Don't miss out on this great spot—go try it for yourself!

The batter on the fish was light, crispy, and the fish itself was cooked just right—truly delicious! However, the waffle fries fell a bit short as they seemed a little stale. It might have been because of the oil from the fish, but it was a minor hiccup in an otherwise enjoyable meal. The onion rings, on the other hand, were fried to perfection.
