I was amazed by how good the breakfast was at Shutters Café in Spokane Valley. I ordered a riverfront omelet, and it was one of the best omelets I've ever had. The friendly service made the experience even better. Sandy was so sweet, attentive, and professional—she's incredible at her job! I highly recommend this place! Our server, Jill, was fabulous. We enjoyed the buffet with made-to-order omelets and waffles. We love the waffles here, and Jill’s sunny personality and attentive service are several reasons to come back! The staff is very welcoming and helpful. Although Google says they close at 11:30 am, they are open after those hours for lunch. Terrific breakfast spot, and it's definitely worth the short walk if you're staying nearby.

It feels like a special treat every time we visit. Meeting up with my cousin at this cozy coffee shop was a joy. There's plenty of seating, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The coffee was delicious, the food hit the spot, and parking was easy. I appreciate how peaceful and welcoming the atmosphere is, with groups of people enjoying their time and even engaging in activities like reading the Bible, which brings joy to my heart. One of the things I admire is their mission to support important causes like stopping sex trafficking. It feels good to support a local, small business that gives back. It's clear that the employees enjoy working here, and it reflects in the excellent service and outstanding food and drinks. I highly recommend trying the hash! The only downside is that they're closed on Sundays, which is sometimes the only day off my partner and I share. However, as someone who works for a small business, I completely understand the need for a day off. I even have a sticker from The Garden on one of my to-go cups, and I wish we had a similar spot where I live. Thank you, Abigail, for making my nut-allergy daughter feel so seen. I had a fantastic experience at Cottage Cafe for breakfast on two visits, 4/27/24 and 5/18/24. Each time, I ordered the Hearty Breakfast Combo, which includes three eggs, two thick-cut bacon strips, two sausage links, hash browns, sourdough toast, and a Belgium waffle for $16.95. The portion is enormous—perfect for sharing! The breakfast was incredibly delicious, especially the waffles, which were light and airy, just how I like them. The homemade strawberry jam was a delightful touch. My daughter tried the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs with hash browns and sourdough toast, and she absolutely loved it. The service was quick and excellent, even though the place was busy. It's clear that there's a good reason for the long wait times: the food is outstanding and worth every minute. I appreciate that Cottage Cafe focuses on homemade dishes, just like Grandma used to make. They also have legendary "Killer Mimosas" and the Vienna coffee is amazing. My waiter, Russ "Boots," provided wonderful service at the bar area. The vibe was perfect, with rock music in the background and a great conversation with a fellow diner, Amy. During our visit after Mother's Day, despite the crowd, we were seated within 15 minutes. The freshly squeezed orange juice was a refreshing start. Choosing what to order was tough because everything looked so good, but we settled on potatoes, an omelet, and a waffle. The omelet was filled generously, and the homemade whipped cream for the waffle was incredible. Coming from Texas, I was thrilled to find a place that serves such a remarkable chicken fried steak. The gravy was exceptional, and it’s the best chicken fried steak I've found outside Texas. The hash browns were perfectly cooked, and everything arrived fresh and hot. Overall, Cottage Cafe has become my new favorite breakfast spot. The staff are friendly and efficient, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the Wyoming Elk Chop Steak and Eggs while my partner had the Southern Caprese Benedict, and both dishes were absolutely delicious! The portions were generous, and the flavors did not disappoint. Gabe, our server, was exceptional and truly enhanced our dining experience. The train car setting has some modern touches, which I personally think takes away a bit from its charm, but it’s still a real train car and an excellent dining experience. Frank's Diner is a comfort food paradise with an old-world train car feel. It's a classic diner through and through, with grand interiors, reasonable prices, and an extensive menu. I ordered a Reuben with fries—the Reuben was decent, but the fries were outstanding. Hands down the best diner in Spokane, and we'll definitely be back.

The cost didn't match the expectations set by the menus I found online. I spent $66 for just two people, which felt excessive for a basic breakfast. However, the place was busy, so it seems to be popular despite the prices. The cinnamon roll French toast was a highlight and something I'd consider ordering again. I had the steak and eggs with a side of bacon. The steak was nicely seasoned and cooked medium rare as I ordered. It was a bit tough but, for a breakfast steak, it was not expensive. The eggs were perfect too. The place might be a bit outdated, but that adds to its charm. I would definitely go back. I tried the Bacon Mushroom Omelet, and my partner had the Traditional Breakfast. Both were super delicious with very large portions—you get what you pay for! All the staff were kind, and despite being busy, there was no wait for our table. Thanks again!

The inside seating area is small but busy, particularly on a Sunday evening, yet the staff managed to turn tables around fast with no waiting time. If you're not into indoor seating, there are picnic tables outside. The diner breakfast is also incredible. Their homemade pancakes stand out from other diners, and the sausage gravy is delicious. The bacon was cooked just right, and my toddler loved the biscuit with homemade strawberry jam. Overall, Hangry's is a small but mighty place worth visiting again and again for its fantastic food and fast service. Easy to find on East Trent, it's definitely worth the drive.

The bacon was cooked just right, and my toddler loved the biscuit with homemade strawberry jam. Overall, Hangry's is a small but mighty place worth visiting again and again for its fantastic food and fast service. Easy to find on East Trent, it's definitely worth the drive.

The service is excellent, with a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff, especially my server Kelsey, are friendly and attentive, which adds to the overall positive experience. The cafe maintains its classic charm, and it's great that the decor has remained consistent over the years. The spicy shrimp and sausage pasta I ordered was delicious, and the portions were so generous we couldn't finish our meals. My wife got the chili, and even with beans in it, she loved it—a big compliment coming from Texans! The diner is located inside the Flying J truck stop, which makes it a great spot for truck drivers looking for a real meal instead of fast food. The restrooms were clean and well-maintained. The location threw me off since it’s part of a gas station, but once inside, we were warmly greeted and got to choose our seats. Our waitress was awesome, though I wish I remembered her name. We started with their homemade chili, cornbread, and whipped butter, and it was the best chili I’ve ever had. The hash brown stack with corned beef was also a hit. The place has a great atmosphere, perfect for any time of day, and really delivers that classic diner vibe. It's close to the airport, so it's convenient for travelers. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area.
