Coffee First Cafe & Bake Shoppe

I discovered Coffee First Cafe & Bake Shoppe through TikTok and was thrilled to find it nearby. The video highlighted the friendly staff, and they didn't disappoint. Most customers seemed like regulars, with staff recalling their orders and names, which was heartwarming to witness. The cafe is unassuming but truly a hidden gem. I tried an iced coffee with cold foam, which was decent, but what really stood out was the blueberry muffin—absolutely delicious! Seating is limited, but I snagged a spot by the window and enjoyed a relaxing morning sipping coffee, reading, and working. I love the vibe here and appreciate the real Lavazza espresso they serve. I have noticed that regulars might get their orders prioritized, which is something to be aware of, but the owner is apologetic if an order is forgotten. The flight options are unique and fun—I particularly enjoyed the mocha and surprisingly, the pumpkin latte. The spinach and feta pastry and jalapeño sausage breakfast sandwich were both great choices. The caramel and white mocha lattes weren’t my favorites, as the flavors didn't stand out, and the whipped cream could have been lighter. Despite its small size and limited seating, the cafe has a warm, homey atmosphere that families seem to enjoy. It's a lovely local spot, and I'm excited to return and try more of their coffee flights.

I had an exceptional experience at Sterling Coney Island for breakfast in Sterling Heights. The service was top-notch, and the waitress, though I didn’t catch her name, was simply amazing. She remembered my mom and me after just a couple of visits, which made us feel really welcomed. This place might not stand out when driving down Van Dyke or 16 Mile, but it’s definitely worth a visit, and I guarantee you’ll want to come back. Every dish I’ve tried there has been delicious, whether it’s the Coney, fries, Slim Jim, or the fish dinner. The quality of the food is truly impressive. The turkey omelette I had for breakfast was no exception, and it was a great start to my day before heading to the office. The burgers are always freshly made, which I appreciate. The husband-and-wife team who run this place are incredibly friendly, adding to the warm atmosphere. Even when we arrived an hour before closing, they treated us like we were their first guests of the day. I’m definitely planning on returning more often.
Lucky Brunch

This place is awesome! The food at Lucky Brunch is simply delicious - the best chicken and waffles I've ever had! The service is amazing, with waitresses who are real team players. I never had to ask for refills because anyone walking by would refill our waters or coffee. To top it off, we got lucky and won a $20 gift card out of the blue! I decided to try this place for the first time based on Facebook reviews and I'm so glad I did. I ordered the power oatmeal, raisin toast, and coffee. The food and service were excellent, and the portions were very generous. When the waitress found out it was my first visit, she did a great job of highlighting items on the menu. It seems like a lot of people do carryout in the morning, too. You can order breakfast or lunch off the menu at any time, which is a nice bonus. I've ordered both carry out and dined in here, and the food has always been great. The staff is very friendly and if you’re planning to dine in on the weekend, just be ready for a bit of a wait because it stays busy! If you're a coffee drinker, do yourself a favor and try the teddy bear - it's wonderful. The French toast is some of the best I’ve had, too! The restaurant is a little small and can feel a bit cramped when it's busy, but the service is fast and the staff is friendly, making it one of my favorite brunch spots in the area!
Old House Family Restaurant

I've found my breakfast spot at Old House Family Restaurant in Sterling Heights. The coney special is hands down the best I've ever had, and the breakfast menu never lets me down, especially the waffles. With so many selections, I find myself coming back again and again. The Filipino Friday dinner, which happens on the first Friday of the month, is a delicious treat I look forward to and hope it becomes a regular thing. The staff is wonderful, creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels like family. Megan always has spot-on recommendations for when I'm unsure about what to order. There's also Chelsea, who keeps me laughing while serving up breakfast burritos three times a week. Her humor and service make every visit enjoyable. Old House feels safe with their setup, a comfort for dining out these days. Their food is always good and reasonably priced, and the servers make sure my coffee stays hot. Even other customers add to the friendly atmosphere. I've been coming here since 2017, and it's only gotten better with time. The new gluten-free options are a bonus for someone with celiac like me, and I highly recommend the corned beef hash along with the amazing coffee.

This morning I had breakfast at Empire Grill in Sterling Heights, and it was a fantastic experience. The service was quick and efficient, and the waitresses were incredibly attentive and friendly. The diner itself is spotless and offers a great variety of breakfast options on the menu. The overall atmosphere was pleasant, with friendly people and a quiet setting. I decided to try the Empire Slam, which includes 3 eggs, 2 bacon slices, 2 sausages, 2 pieces of ham, toast, and hash browns. Everything was cooked perfectly, except for the bacon, which was overcooked and dry. It was a bit disappointing, especially since it's such a crucial part of the meal. I've been to Empire Grill several times for lunch, and the sandwiches and salads are consistently good. Unfortunately, the bacon fell short again when I visited a couple of days later, so I've decided not to order breakfast here anymore. However, I just had breakfast here on a Saturday morning, and the quality of the food was exceptional, with the bacon cooked just right, crispy as it should be. The staff did a great job, and it's the best breakfast I've had in the Tri-County area. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and give them a try.

I ordered the tuna wrap and the blooming berry smoothie, and both were fresh and tasty! The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. Hats off to Adel and the Eat Well Cafe; I will be back! A friend and I stopped by to grab a bite between our college classes and absolutely loved it. We arrived around noon and were taken care of by a friendly worker named Adel. Everything was prepared beautifully and tasted delicious. I also tried the Super Fruit All Star smoothie, and it was very refreshing. For those of you who are out-of-towners looking for a gluten-free meal, this is the place! My wife and I ordered the pesto quinoa bowl and ultimate club wrap, and they were phenomenal. Even with Adel handling everything front and back, including online orders, every dish was top-notch. This has become my favorite place to study and hang out. The food is inexpensive and delicious, and the atmosphere is mostly quiet and reserved, making it perfect for peaceful studying. My boyfriend and I like to visit to build Legos while enjoying bagel sandwiches and lattes. Adel is always so sweet to us. Eat Well Cafe is the perfect spot for everything!
Maatouk Bakery

I've been coming to Maatouk Bakery for years, and it remains a top choice for breakfast in Sterling Heights. Despite the challenges many businesses have faced, Maatouk continues to offer the most authentic Arabic baked goods you'll find in Macomb County, outside of Dearborn. This classic Middle Eastern bakery is reminiscent of a time when quality and care were the standards, and it's clear that the owner, with a lifetime of baking experience, pours love into every creation. The variety is fantastic, with fresh meat, cheese, za'atar, and veggie pies that never disappoint. While the cheese bread has seen some changes, the rest of their offerings remain top-notch. Their delicious meat, cheese, and spinach fatayer are must-tries, and everything is made fresh in-house. I travel three hours just to stock up on their pies, as well as their wonderfully soft and chewy pita. One of the highlights of visiting Maatouk is the warm, family-like treatment we receive. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making each visit special. This bakery is a gem, and I highly recommend it for anyone craving authentic Lebanese baked goods. An A+ experience every time!
The Pantry Restaurant

First of all, the staff at The Pantry Restaurant in Sterling Heights are so nice and welcoming. The moment we walked in at 11 am on a Thursday, we were greeted quickly by a smiling lady and seated in a big, comfortable booth. Even after being open for five hours, the place was really clean—not just the tables, but the seats and carpet too. The menu is huge and full of creative dishes you won't find elsewhere, like several variations on the Dutch baby. I had to ask for more time to decide on what to order because there were so many options. I ended up choosing the daily special, and my son got the Horn of Plenty, a Dutch Baby filled with fresh fruit and whipped cream. He nearly inhaled his breakfast, while I enjoyed my eggs, bacon, fried potatoes, and biscuits at a more leisurely pace. The food was great; the crepes and Dutch baby were super fresh off the griddle. I did find the fruit toppings a bit one-note sweet, and the biscuits were a bit cold and tasted cheap. Next time, I'd try the banana fruit surprise or something more fresh fruit-based. The apple pancake was excellent, arriving at the table still bubbling from the oven. Just be sure to let it cool for a few minutes. One thing I appreciated was that my coffee never dropped below half a cup. The atmosphere was friendly, and I could tell the staff got along well and worked efficiently. The prices were very reasonable, and the portions were big enough that you'll likely leave with a carryout. Overall, we enjoyed our breakfast, and I'm never disappointed when eating at any of The Pantry restaurants. It's a nice breakfast/lunch spot with three locations. I even found myself visiting again the next day because it was just too irresistible.

I had a fantastic breakfast experience at Sterling American Grill in Sterling Heights. The food was both delicious and affordable, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to start their day right. Our waitress was friendly and went above and beyond to fulfill our requests, like making my mom’s hot chocolate with milk. This kind of attentive service was truly appreciated. An unexpected kindness from the staff made my visit even more memorable. I was in urgent need of a small container of oil and vinegar for my father, who has kidney failure. Despite being turned away by other restaurants nearby, the staff at Sterling American Grill generously provided me with the dressing at no charge. This act of kindness genuinely touched me and showcased the incredibly kindhearted nature of the people working there. The breakfast itself was top-notch, with perfectly cooked eggs, bacon, and hash browns. Having visited three times already, I've consistently enjoyed the quality of the food and the A+ service. My wife and friends have loved their experiences here too, which speaks volumes about the consistency and excellence of this place. We will definitely be back whenever we're in town.

At First Watch in Sterling Heights, I had a really good experience, even with a large group. We appreciated how accommodating they were and will definitely be back. Their fall menu drinks and food impressed us and added fun to the brunch. There are so many unique brunch options to choose from. There’s really something for everyone, but my go-to is their traditional breakfast plate—it's so good! The servers are always friendly and attentive, ensuring everything runs smoothly. The outdoor seating area is really nice, though it can get a bit noisy inside when the place is packed, which is most of the time. The food is amazing, and they offer gluten-free options! I've tried the Gluten Free French Toast and the Gluten-Free Eggs Benedict several times, and they never disappoint. I love that when you ask for maple syrup, they bring you your own little bottle! Today, I tried the salad with chicken, pecans, bacon, and a warm honey mustard dressing. It was delicious! My friend had the lemon blueberry cornbread, which was also delicious. This place has become a favorite restaurant of mine. With great service, excellent food, and a lively atmosphere, First Watch never fails to deliver a great brunch experience. Great job! 👏
Flaming Grill Family Dining

I had a fantastic experience at Flaming Grill Family Dining in Sterling Heights. During my first visit, the chicken parmesan was delicious, and the chicken soup was served in a generous portion, making it well worth the cost. The wait staff was attentive, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food was so good that we returned the next day for breakfast, and once again, we were not disappointed. I ordered Noah's breakfast special, substituting hash browns for pancakes, and it was a delicious choice. My son's bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a plain bagel was impressively large. Overall, breakfast was very affordable, and we even had leftovers to take home. We also loved the Fisherman's Platter—the Cod and Perch were cooked with a light, crispy batter, paired with delicious hashbrowns, green beans, salad, and coleslaw. My daughter enjoyed the Fish & Mac, while my son-in-law had a Noah Wrap with fries. The service was excellent, with our waitress being attentive and friendly. The place is lovely, with fun and friendly staff, and offers good portions at a fair price. The atmosphere is clean, cozy, and comfortable. They have a knack for making excellent omelettes and keeping your coffee and water topped up. I brought a friend along for his first visit, and he was equally impressed. I highly recommend coming back here—it's a 10/10 dining experience!
Mike's Greek Grill
43719 Schoenherr Rd, Sterling Heights

Joseph Ellis
Mike's Greek Grill is a fantastic spot for breakfast in Sterling Heights. Their gyro is absolutely delicious. It's clear that they put effort into shaving their own meat from the doner, which makes a big difference in taste. The lentil soup is also very good, though I would have liked a bit more garlic in both the soup and the tzatziki. The service on weekdays is excellent, with Manuel being particularly attentive and generous. I highly recommend visiting during the week when the staff is amazing and the food is top-notch. However, weekends can be hit or miss with the service, as there have been times when refills and orders were delayed. Overall, it's a great place with excellent food, and I will definitely be returning. Thank you, Mike's Greek Grill!
Ike's Restaurant

Mohammad Reyes
IKE'S is an absolute gem! Dining there was a wonderful experience. The kabab was perfectly seasoned and cooked just right, while the butterfly shrimp had a crispy exterior and succulent shrimp inside. The broccoli cheddar soup was creamy and cheesy, a perfect start to the meal. The ambiance at IKE'S is warm and inviting, and the service was outstanding. Our waitress Kylie was fantastic and attentive. The restaurant is beautiful, and it's always a pleasure to spend time there. For drinks, I had a Manhattan, and my friend tried a Spicy Margarita. Both were strong and delicious. Our appetizers included a crispy Calamari with a tasty sliced tomato sauce and a Vegetarian Plate that was beautifully presented. The fried Falafel was flavorful and crispy, the Baba Ghanouge was fantastic, and the Hummus was smooth and among the best I've had. Hot bread for dipping was a delightful touch, though I wasn't a fan of the Veggie Grape Leaves and Fattoush Salad. For entrees, I chose the Kibbeh Niyeh, which was fresh and generously portioned, while my friend enjoyed the Chicken Florentine—a surprising hit at a Middle Eastern restaurant. Dessert was Tiramisu, and it was light yet flavorful, melting in your mouth. If you're in the mood for Mediterranean cuisine, I highly recommend trying IKE'S. It's a place where the food is consistently top-notch, and the atmosphere makes you feel right at home.

I've got to say, Breakfast Club in Sterling Heights is a fantastic spot for a morning meal. The service was truly outstanding; the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We initially had a smaller table, but they swiftly moved us to a larger one without any fuss—a nice touch that made us feel welcome. The food portions were generous, and everything tasted delicious. There's a real sense of family and warmth here, not just from the staff but also from other patrons. It felt like a community. I loved the little details, like the strawberries on the bill; it added a charming touch to the experience. This was our first visit, and even though we stopped by a local hardware store, we’d come back to the diner just for the food and ambiance alone. Overall, I highly recommend this place for both the quality of the food and the wonderful people who make up the environment.

Dodge Park Coney Island is a true hidden gem for breakfast in Sterling Heights. Located conveniently off 15 Mile and Dodge Park Road, there's plenty of parking available. The ambiance is inviting with comfortable seating and cool lighting that immediately caught my eye. The menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of options. I visited around 11am and opted for breakfast. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The corned beef hash and eggs, even if it's the canned kind, were a standout for me, and the coffee hit the spot. The chef really knows how to cook eggs to order, which is always a plus. Despite a minor hiccup with our server being a bit distracted, the overall service was friendly and efficient. We were a party of eight, and they accommodated us without any issues. The owner and staff seemed genuinely committed to providing excellent service. We also tried a variety of dishes including loose burgers, chili cheese fries, cheese sticks, and a Coney. They were all tasty, with a generous helping of chili. While the loose burgers weren't seasoned to my usual preference, the toppings made up for it. I was particularly impressed with how attentive our waitress was, making sure we were satisfied and offering refills. The restaurant looks newly remodeled, adding to its charm. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. If you're looking for good food and a pleasant dining experience, give Dodge Park Coney Island a try!
Phoenix Coney Island

My wife and I have been visiting Phoenix Coney Island since we started dating, and stopping by again was a great choice. The chili cheese fries hit the spot, and the food is exactly what you'd expect from a classic coney—delicious and satisfying. The Tuna and Geno's special came in big portions with crispy chicken and good flavor. The atmosphere is charming, reminiscent of an old-fashioned diner with the ball game on TV, which adds to the experience. The staff is always incredibly friendly, which makes every visit enjoyable. If you're craving a Coney Island meal, this place is the best around. I'm not one to fuss about service, but this establishment deserves praise for their exceptional hospitality.
The Hot Spot

I stopped by The Hot Spot in Sterling Heights and was pleasantly surprised by how unique and welcoming it is. It's not your typical coffee house—it's a bikini/lingerie coffee bar with an adults-only vibe. I haven't tried the food yet, but I regularly get coffee or espresso, and it’s pretty good. I work nearby, and I love the progressive environment they have created. The staff is always dressed to impress, and they pull it off with style. It's interesting that more women don't visit because many I know would appreciate this kind of spot. The prices are comparable to a regular coffee shop and likely cheaper than Starbucks, with a much better atmosphere. The uniforms are fun, and it adds a unique twist to the coffee experience. One time, I came in after a rough day when my car got stolen in Chicago, and I needed to use the phone. The staff was incredibly polite and the place was spotless. Even though I didn't order anything then, they kept offering drinks and food to help cheer me up. It was one of the friendliest experiences I’ve had in any store. The Hot Spot is definitely a cool place, and I'm glad I discovered it.
