Keke's Breakfast Cafe
311 S Mathilda Ave, Sunnyvale

Keke's Breakfast Cafe in Sunnyvale is a fantastic spot for breakfast, and I absolutely loved my experience there! The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. I tried the cheese steak and the waffles, and they were both amazing. The waffles had the perfect balance of crunchy and chewy, which I personally enjoyed a lot. I went a bit later in the morning to steer clear of the brunch crowd, and it worked out great. The staff was polite and attentive, and they made some excellent recommendations for this first-timer. I'm already planning my next visit to explore more of their menu! My partner and I were so excited to check out Keke's, especially after hearing so much about it from friends and seeing it on social media. It made for a great birthday weekend brunch spot. The convenience of having their own parking garage was a nice surprise, and the restaurant was incredibly clean and inviting. Once seated, our waitress was prompt in taking our drink orders, and the menu was so diverse that it was hard to choose. We finally decided on the Western omelette, create-a-combo with French toast, Florida pancakes loaded with fruits, and flavored lattes. Each dish was delightful, from the fluffy, well-seasoned omelette and the perfectly eggy French toast to the star of the show—those Florida pancakes were simply out of this world. My partner couldn't get enough of them! The service was stellar, with our waitress and other staff members checking on us regularly. We even chatted with Chelsea, the manager, who genuinely seemed passionate about her role. It's that level of care that makes Keke's stand out. We're so grateful to have Keke's in the Bay Area now. The Southern-inspired dishes like the cheesy grits and crispy pancakes finally bring that authentic southern breakfast vibe here. Big thumbs up from us, and I'm excited to become a regular! Just hoping the lines stay manageable—it's too good to miss out! Highly recommend this place!
Philz Coffee
125 S Frances St, Sunnyvale

Philz Coffee in Sunnyvale is a great spot, especially thanks to its prime location right in front of the Caltrain station. The interior is bare and industrial, but the local art school pieces add a nice touch. It's always bustling when I visit, with most people working or having meetings. It's definitely not your usual cozy book-reading cafe, but it excels as a workspace, provided you snag one of the limited seats with power outlets. The coffee is decent, and I love that you can customize the sweetness and creaminess. I tried their specialty rose coffee and found it pretty impressive. While the food options aren't very tempting, there are plenty of great places nearby if you're hungry. I was a bit let down by the Mint Mojito once, even giving it a second chance, but I'm still a fan of Philz overall. The Dark Roast Jacob's Wonderbar blend is phenomenal, one of the best I've tasted. The vibe is quirky and chilled, making it a comforting place to hang out. Service can be slow, but the taste and quality make up for it. They also offer oat and almond milk alternatives, which is a nice touch. Every time I'm in the Bay Area, I make sure to get my Philz fix. The staff is amazing, and my usual sweet and creamy mint mojito never disappoints, bringing back memories from five years ago. Overall, it's a fantastic spot in Sunnyvale, especially for working or just kicking back with a solid cup of coffee.
Kenny's Cafe

Service at Kenny's Cafe is simply amazing. Kenny himself is a genuinely nice guy with a good soul, and it shows in how he runs the place. I tried the breakfast burrito today and really enjoyed it. It wasn't greasy or overly salty, just right, and the chipotle sauce was the perfect complement. I ordered the breakfast burrito special, and it was an excellent choice. The salsa was a little spicy but full of flavor. Kenny's dedication is apparent, as the food came out fast and delicious. The owner is super nice and friendly, making you feel welcome. I would definitely come back to try the burgers. If you're looking for something different, bring your family and enjoy a meal here. You won't regret it. God bless this restaurant—good food and good service! Kenny runs it all and cares deeply about his business, and the place is filled with pictures, showing how he loves to interact with his customers.
Bloom

I had a fantastic experience at Bloom for breakfast in Sunnyvale. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and they were really delicious. The waffles were crispy yet fluffy, and the fried chicken was perfectly cooked, maintaining its juiciness. I appreciated the syrup being served separately, as it allowed me to control the sweetness just the way I like it. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food, though we were all surprised when the food arrived before our drinks. It was a bit confusing, but didn't detract from the overall dining experience. The wait can be long, but it's definitely worth it. Finding parking in the plaza was easy, which is always a plus. The restaurant's ambiance was delightful—cozy yet lively, in an unexpected location. I was craving something sweet and ended up trying their Avocado Toast with a side of a Pancake. The chunky avocado, generous greens, and salad were a nice touch, and I liked that the pancakes weren't overly sweet. We came here for breakfast after tennis with two other friends, and the portions were large, more than enough for three people to share. The scrambled eggs were packed with ingredients, although they could have had a bit more egg. My fresh-squeezed orange juice came warm, but the service was quick and attentive, getting me some ice right away. Overall, Bloom is a great brunch spot in Sunnyvale that I look forward to visiting again.
Bagel Street Cafe

Stopped by Bagel Street Café in Sunnyvale for breakfast and had an amazing experience. The Eggwich Supreme was my favorite—flavorful and satisfying. The everything bagel was fresh and delicious, and the plain sesame bagel was simply the best I’ve ever had. The bagels are fresh and the ingredients are top-notch. Highly recommend this spot for a great bagel fix! Came back for lunch around 1:20, and even though they close at 2, they were still incredibly accommodating. The service was friendly and fast, and it was clear that the store was well run. The place looked and smelled clean, thanks to their thorough mopping and sanitizing. I ordered a California club sandwich and coffee. The sandwich was tasty, fresh, and hit the spot, while the coffee was hot and strong. I’m very impressed with the kindness, efficiency, quality, and overall vibe here. This is my new favorite bagel shop, and I never have issues with my orders. The ingredients are always fresh and tasty, and the employees are great at making your order just the way you like it. My go-to is the #4 on a garlic bagel. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to and highly recommend to anyone curious.
Chick-fil-A
550 W El Camino Real, Sunnyvale

Charde Mederos
Chick-fil-A in Sunnyvale is a delightful spot for breakfast. The service is top-notch, with friendly staff who handle the high demand effortlessly. Despite the long lines and queues, it's worth visiting during off-peak hours like 11-12 PM or 3-5 PM, although parking can be tricky due to its busy El Camino location. For a first-timer, I was thoroughly impressed with the food. The fried chicken sandwiches, salads, and sides are fresh and well-prepared. The waffle fries and iced tea are standout favorites, and the nuggets and spicy chicken sandwich are incredibly tender. Dining in is a pleasant experience, with a clean environment and attentive staff offering table refills. The spicy deluxe sandwich is delicious, and the kiddie meals come with a nice storybook, adding great value for money. The ambience is pleasant, with fresh flowers on each table, and as a lovely surprise, I received Mother's Day flowers and a gift card. Chick-fil-A's original sauce is a must-try, and the burgers and waffle potato fries are simply fantastic. I only wish it was available in Asia as well! Overall, I love Chick-fil-A and highly recommend it for its great service and delicious food.
Roger's Deli & Donuts

I visited Roger's Deli & Donuts twice for breakfast in Sunnyvale, and it's a great spot for deli lovers. The deli sandwiches are standout – packed with fresh ingredients, full of flavor, and crafted with care. Each bite was satisfying and left me wanting more. Whether you’re craving a classic or something unique, they’ve got a good selection to choose from. The donuts were decent but didn’t quite reach the level of the sandwiches. They were fresh and enjoyable but felt fairly standard without any distinct flavor or texture that set them apart from other donut shops. For a mid-afternoon takeout on a Sunday, I ordered a Reuben sandwich and apple fritter. The Reuben had a good quantity of corned beef with kraut and melted Swiss cheese on light Rye. It was moist but not messy and with minimal pineapple taste. The apple fritter was not overly sweet with some apple bits. Roger's Deli seems to be mainly a take-and-go place, but there's outside seating with gas heaters around the tables. I had a memorable time meeting up with a friend. We sat around one of their fire pits eating sausage cheese breakfast croissants and drinking coffee. The Turkey Avocado Sandwich was super delicious! The avocado and tomatoes were really fresh, and the sprouts added a nice crunch. The staff was super nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely going back soon!
Bill's Cafe - Stevens Creek
5124 Stevens Creek Blvd Suite A, San Jose
(408) 642-1521
Francisco Phelps
At Bill's Cafe on Stevens Creek, the breakfast experience was a delight. The Chicken n Waffles was a highlight; the fried chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy inside, though I would have preferred a boneless breast to avoid dealing with small bones. The crab cakes benedict was outstanding and easily one of the best breakfast meals I've had. Their hashbrowns are also a personal favorite, and the Steak skillet with green salsa was fresh and flavorful. Service was mixed; my original server left for an extended break, but the second server, Claudia, went above and beyond, checking on me often. Her attentive service made the visit special. Overall, the food and the exceptional service from Claudia made it worth the short wait.
López Taqueria
305 N Fair Oaks Ave, Sunnyvale

López Taqueria in Sunnyvale serves the best Mexican food I've had in a while. Their handmade tortillas are a standout, and my huevos rancheros were excellent, especially with their spicy salsas. The service was great, and surprisingly, the instant coffee was delicious. As someone traveling from overseas, I missed real authentic Mexican food, and this place truly hit the spot. Plus, the bathrooms were very clean. Returning, I loved the nachos, burrito, fish taco, and super tacos. The fish tacos were awesome! A coworker grabbed a huge burrito for just 10 bucks. The place is clean, fast, and serves up good food—everything you need for a great lunch. Despite only visiting once on a busy Friday evening, the lively atmosphere, tasty food, and friendly staff left a strong impression. There was some fast-paced music that was a bit loud, but it didn't bother me. My order was mistakenly packed as a takeaway, but I noticed dine-in orders get solid cutlery and crockery. I'm glad I visited and would definitely return if I'm in the area again.

I had a fantastic breakfast experience at Baji's Café in Sunnyvale. The pancakes I ordered, a two-stack with strawberries and chocolate stuffed inside, were absolutely delicious and came in generous portions. The vegetarian omelette was also substantial, served with hash browns and plenty of toast. The food was genuinely tasty, and the service was outstanding. The ambiance was exactly what you'd expect from a cozy breakfast spot. The shakes were yummy, and the coffee was decent—I've had better, especially considering the $4 price tag, but it did the job. The sausage gravy didn't quite hit the mark portion-wise, but I'm giving them a pass considering the times we're in. Baji's breakfast hash was a standout and offered great value. The café offers many options, so there's something for everyone. A recent takeaway breakfast was well-packaged and personalized just the way I like it. I appreciate the ability to customize my meal; the poached egg, hash browns, and bacon were satisfying, although I prefer my hash browns a bit crispier. The wait staff, especially Edgar, were friendly and attentive, ensuring my meal was served exactly as I ordered. The eggs over easy were just right, perfect for dunking toast. The chorizo was well-cooked with lovely grill marks and wasn't overly greasy. I'm glad I chose this local gem over a nearby chain restaurant. I'll definitely be returning for another delicious breakfast.
Bean Scene Café.
186 S Murphy Ave, Sunnyvale

Short Santiago
Bean Scene Café is one of the best spots if you're looking to grab a coffee and get some work done in Sunnyvale. The coffee here is excellent, and the environment is both cozy and comfortable, making it a great place to settle in with your laptop. Although it's often busy, which sometimes makes finding a table tricky, the clean space adds to the overall positive experience. The employees are incredibly friendly, and the coffee is always fresh. My only suggestion would be to offer a wider selection of cookies and pastries to provide more variety for regulars like me. Even after moving out of town, I find myself drawn back to this café because the atmosphere is exactly what I seek in a coffee shop. Bean Scene has truly become a cornerstone of downtown Sunnyvale, and it deserves the best reviews.
Paris Baguette

Thanks to Julie and the amazing staff at Paris Baguette in Sunnyvale for creating a fantastic jungle-themed custom cake for my son's first birthday. The cake was a hit at the party, with many guests praising its design and taste. It truly made the day memorable for us. Julie, in particular, deserves a special shoutout for understanding our requirements so well. The cake's design was exactly as we had hoped, and it tasted delicious. The timely delivery and great communication were much appreciated. Paris Baguette has always been our go-to place for cakes, and the Sunnyvale location is the best in the area. My brother and I stopped by after a quick shopping trip. While he enjoyed a large coffee and a croissant, I savored a small peach tea. The customer service at the counter was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff. However, I did notice that the attention to table cleanliness could be improved. My brother had to ask an employee to clean our table, and other tables seemed to be in a similar state. In my opinion, maintaining table sanitation would enhance the overall experience. Despite this, the collection of pastries and cakes was delicious, beautifully presented, and made with just the right level of sweetness. The soft silky milk buns and mango coconut pastry were particularly enjoyable. Overall, Paris Baguette continues to be a favorite, and we look forward to our next visit.
Xiaoman Riceburrito
573 E El Camino Real, Sunnyvale
Fernanda Peterson Parks
Xiaoman Riceburrito offers an unexpectedly delightful breakfast experience with its Taiwanese-style rice balls, or "burritos." The ordering process is simple, using a machine at the front, and the service is fast, which is perfect for a quick bite. The rice is cooked perfectly, and I loved the combination of soft texture with the crunch from the Chinese crispy donut and the roasted egg. Adding meat floss for an extra dollar was a great choice, as it added more flavor to the mix. I ordered the purple rice crispy roll and was impressed with how well everything came together. The flavors from the pork floss, crispy doughnut, and seasoned egg complemented each other beautifully. Paired with the soymilk black tea, it was a delicious meal. Though the price point is a bit high at $17.50 for a set, the quality and authenticity of the food make it worth trying at least once. The shop is small and only offers takeout, but it has a clean and efficient setup. While it might seem pricey, it's important to remember that authentic Taiwanese food options like this are rare in the Bay Area. For someone who appreciates the unique flavors of Taiwan and is looking for an authentic, quick breakfast option, Xiaoman Riceburrito is a fantastic choice.
Mikayla's Cafe
2209 Tasman Dr, Santa Clara

Rmgrd Buchert
My husband and I visited Mikayla's Cafe for breakfast, and we were pretty impressed. The restaurant is nice and clean, and the service was good. We tried the All American Favorite and the Veggie Skillet, along with two Americanos. The food was mostly great, although I wasn’t thrilled with the corned beef hash from a can in the Benedict I ordered, as the picture suggested something different. Also, the coffee was a bit bland for our taste. Despite these minor hiccups, we left as happy customers with happy tummies. The food quality and quantity were excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The Breakfast Wrap Supreme I ordered was enjoyable, though the pepper and onion pieces could have been smaller for better texture, and a sauce would have tied the flavors together nicely. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, with parking available out front. While it's a bit pricier than similar places, I'd still recommend Mikayla's Cafe as a good spot for breakfast or brunch.
Panera Bread

Panera Bread in Sunnyvale has become my go-to spot for breakfast and sandwiches. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great place for any meal. Their sandwiches, especially the tuna, are fantastic with fresh, high-quality ingredients and perfectly seasoned tuna that make for a delightful eating experience. The service is consistently friendly and quick, which adds to the overall positive experience. The front-of-house staff are particularly welcoming, remembering regular customers by name. Although the order execution could be improved, the staff's dedication to customer service is commendable. On one visit, when I found a mistake with my order, a young woman went above and beyond to fix it, even offering extra bread. The place is tidy, with plenty of seating and good Wi-Fi, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal or get some work done. The Sip Club subscription is a great deal for those who enjoy a variety of beverages. Despite some minor issues, like the occasional skimpy hummus on the Mediterranean sandwich or unnecessary lettuce in the warm caprese, Panera Bread's customer service and food quality keep me coming back. Plus, my kids love dipping their baguette pieces into their soup. Overall, I highly recommend Panera Bread for anyone looking for a great breakfast or sandwich spot. The positive experiences I've had with their staff and food ensure that I will definitely be returning.
Redwood Place Cafe & Market

Redwood Place Cafe & Market is a great spot for breakfast in Sunnyvale. The spacious environment and relaxed vibe make it a nice place to hang out and unwind. While the coffee doesn't quite match up to Starbucks and could use some improvement, especially when it comes to the cappuccinos and lattes, the food makes up for it. The flatbreads are particularly tasty, and the salads are awesome. The cafe is clean, and its large interiors are inviting. Although the drink menu is limited since they don't serve iced coffee or cold brew like Starbucks, the overall atmosphere makes it worth a visit. It's usually quiet, making it an ideal spot to relax.
Peggy Sue's
691 Tasman Dr Q, Sunnyvale

Diego Culver
Peggy Sue’s in Sunnyvale has become my go-to spot for breakfast. The atmosphere has that "sort of Mel's" diner vibe, which I really enjoy. The staff is friendly and attentive, especially during breakfast hours. I've found that the breakfast options are consistently good and a great value for the price. While the dinner experience wasn't as impressive, with the clam chowder not quite hitting the mark for me, the breakfast fare more than makes up for it. The Marlon Brando burger is a standout, being meaty and flavorful, complemented well by the steak fries. The memorabilia around the restaurant adds a nice touch of nostalgia, and the place has a clean and modern feel. Though the service can be hit-or-miss during dinner, breakfast runs smoothly and efficiently. The bartenders are friendly and add to the welcoming atmosphere of the sports bar area. It's a great place to unwind with a beer and some comfort food, away from life's stresses. For anyone in Sunnyvale, I'd definitely recommend stopping by Peggy Sue's for breakfast or a casual drink with some fries and shakes.
Kal's Bar-B-Q
425 N Mathilda Ave, Sunnyvale

Bambino Dent
Had lunch at Kal's Bar-B-Q in Sunnyvale for the first time in years and was blown away by the experience. We tried the cheeseburger with onion rings, and it was just as good as I remembered. The BBQ chicken sandwich came on a French roll, which was a bit longer than the chicken, but it didn't take away from the overall taste. You can choose to sit inside or outside, which is a nice option. For anyone missing a legit Mesquite charcoal-grilled burger, Kal's is the place to go. It brought back that smoke-infused deliciousness that only comes from real charcoal, unlike the bland flavors from flat top or gas grills. With cities pushing for electric everything, Kal’s serves as a nostalgic culinary delight you can’t find in newer spots. I ordered the cheeseburger, cooked to medium perfection, and fries. There's a separate station where you can add your own condiments, which I found convenient. It was old-school goodness and definitely passed the taste test. I'm eager to return to try the rib-eye next. The food here is truly outstanding, all prepared on a charcoal grill right in front of you, infusing that smoky flavor that’s often missing elsewhere. The service is top-notch, and the owner is incredibly friendly, making sure customers have a great experience. We visited on a Saturday for lunch, and it wasn’t crowded at all. I’ll definitely be back to try their breakfast offerings next time. Kal's is incredible! It's a charming 1950s time capsule diner that’s been in business since 1958, yet everything looks fresh and spotless. The food is excellent, and they offer all the classic dishes you need to start your day right. It’s a genuine "Mom and Pop" restaurant, a fun place to hang out with friends, sip coffee, and just relax. Plus, there's outdoor seating available. I highly recommend supporting this cool, locally-owned business.
