Sweet Tea & Coffee Cafe is truly a hidden gem in Surprise, AZ. From the moment I stepped inside, I felt at home with the quaint and beautiful decor reminiscent of an old country town. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing breakfast or brunch. The coffee and tea offerings are top-notch. I especially enjoyed their lattes, which are smooth and flavorful without any bitterness. The Peppermint Mocha and Vanilla Latte are both fantastic choices if you’re seeking something cozy and comforting. The cold brew was precisely as I like it, balanced just right with cream. One standout menu item is the homemade chocolate pudding cake made from scratch by the owner — a must-try delight! The turkey sandwich I had was delicious, and the prices for everything are incredibly fair. Plus, the $1 homemade breads are an unbeatable deal. Sweet Tea & Coffee Cafe isn’t just about great food and drinks; it’s also a community-centric spot where you can browse handcrafted jewelry and other unique items. The vibe remains as lovely as ever despite being under new management, and the staff provides excellent service. With cozy indoor seating and charming rocking chairs outside, this café has become my go-to place near work. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or just a snack, I highly recommend giving it a visit. It’s a wonderful spot that you'll want to keep coming back to.

Spencer's Place in Surprise is a truly special spot for breakfast and coffee. Walking in on a lovely spring day, I was welcomed with friendly smiles from Racquel and Heidi. They both made my visit memorable, starting with Racquel's recommendation of a warm pop tart that tasted just like peach cobbler—pure comfort food. Heidi guided me to try one of their monthly specials, the berry breeze botanical with coconut milk, which was refreshingly perfect. I enjoyed how Racquel engaged with me, even showing me her portrait on the staff wall. Her energy was infectious, and it was evident that the shop has a loyal customer base, with everyone receiving warm farewells by name. The atmosphere feels like a home, and Spencer’s Place is more than just a coffee shop; it’s a community where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can shine and succeed. With the opening of their second location, I’m excited to keep visiting. The indoor and outdoor seating options, cozy blankets during colder months, and delightful coffee flights make it a wonderful place to bring friends and family. The shop is clean and full of joy, with toys for kids and delicious pastries from Suss Pastries—seriously, their pop tarts are addictive. The service is fantastic, making it a place that feels like home every time I visit. The coffee is outstanding, with plenty of options for those with dietary needs, and the pastries are equally divine. I’ll definitely return whenever I’m in the area. Spencer’s Place is a favorite of mine in Surprise, and it’s been amazing to see it grow. The staff is welcoming and kind, and this place is a true gem. Shout out to Spencer’s Place!

I absolutely loved my visit to Sofi’s Restaurant for breakfast! When we arrived on a Saturday at 8 AM, there was no waiting, and we could seat ourselves. Mike, our server, promptly took our drink orders and was attentive throughout our meal. My wife ordered the 2 piece French toast, and while we anticipated it might have been better, my breakfast was delightful. I went for the ribeye with eggs, potatoes, and toast. Though the ribeye was not as tender as I'd hoped, the rest of my meal was fantastic. The eggs, potatoes, and toast were cooked to perfection. The restaurant environment was clean, and the service was commendable. We were so impressed with the place; we're already looking forward to returning and exploring more of their menu. Sofi’s is a charming family-owned Mexican spot with a menu that promises delicious surprises and generous portions. I recommend giving it a try – it's a lovely alternative to the larger chains and definitely worth the visit!

AZ Diner is a fantastic spot for breakfast! The experience was thoroughly enjoyable, starting with our waitress, "Peaches," who was simply amazing. The service was friendly and efficient, even on a busy Saturday morning, with only a 10-minute wait to be seated and our food arriving within 15-20 minutes of ordering. The breakfast was delicious, and the club sandwich was particularly impressive, looking like a piece of artwork. The diner offers a classic feel with much better food than one might expect. While I wasn't a fan of the pancakes, it didn't diminish the overall quality of the meal. There's plenty on the menu to explore, and I'm eager to try their French toast or pies next time. The only hiccup was that we couldn't bring in outside drinks, but our server kindly helped us out, adding to the positive experience. The pricing is reasonable, making it even easier to plan a return visit. I'm looking forward to trying their lunch or dinner options, especially the country fried steak. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food and service!

During my first visit to Over Easy for breakfast in Surprise, I quickly realized why my friends recommended it. The waitlist system was efficient and made the usual wait more bearable. Upon entering, I found the atmosphere clean and with a classic appeal. The standout of the visit was Adriana A., one of the wait staff. Her positivity, attention, and helpfulness truly enhanced the experience. The food was served in generous portions, flavorful, and invitingly presented. Although my skillet dish wasn't served on a hot skillet as expected, it was still delicious. I went there for brunch with my Grandma and sister, arriving at around 10:20 am on a Saturday. Despite seeing other people waiting, the process was smooth, and we received a text when our table was ready. Our server, Dallas, was exceptional—detailed, personable, and ready to answer our questions. We enjoyed protein waffles with blueberries, a quinoa power bowl, and a two-egg breakfast with a must-try homemade strawberry jelly. The restaurant’s decor was a delightful mix of colors that created a warm and inviting space. A minor downside was the loud music, which made conversation challenging, and sitting near the kitchen meant the noise from stacking dishes was slightly uncomfortable for Grandma. Overall, I highly recommend Over Easy for its great food and enjoyable atmosphere. The corned beef hash is particularly noteworthy and keeps my son and me coming back. While the service can vary, when it’s good, it’s truly memorable. Plus, visiting during the less busy hours can make for an even more pleasant experience.

My Daddy's Italian Bakery & Café

We heard about the Friday/Saturday wood fire pizza night at My Daddy's Italian Bakery & Café and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did! The staff were incredibly friendly, and the chef crafts the pizzas using fresh ingredients. These are, hands down, the best pizzas in Surprise, miles ahead of any chain restaurant. You can really taste the love poured into each bite! We were lucky enough to grab some pastries for dessert, too. After our trip to Italy in 2019, this has been our go-to spot for authentic Italian pastries, and My Daddy's Bakery never disappoints. Despite what the website says, they do open for pizza on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5 to 9 PM. You must try it yourself! We arrived around 7 PM and managed to miss the rush, which was perfect. Coming from Jersey, I can confidently say this is the best bakery in AZ. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the desserts are delicious—especially the Napoleon—and there's plenty of seating if you want to enjoy breakfast or lunch. If you haven't been here, it's definitely worth a visit. They even offer pizzas and pastas you can take home to cook yourself. I haven't tried them yet, but given the quality of the wood-fired pizzas, I'm sure they're excellent. The crust is crispy on the outside and light on the inside, just as it should be, and the sauce is authentically flavorful. Plus, it's all very reasonably priced. I can't wait to go back, though it's a shame it's only available on Fridays and Saturdays. I also tried this place for lunch and was impressed by the overall value. I had a meatball sandwich, which was tasty, though the meatballs were a touch bland. The bread roll, however, was delicious. At just $10.70 for a lunch that includes a drink and chips, it's an amazing deal. Other sandwiches I saw, like the turkey bacon swiss and pastrami on rye, looked incredible. The bakery itself is stunning, and I took as many pictures as I could, though they don't quite capture its charm. It wasn't overly crowded at lunchtime, with plenty of seating available. Overall, My Daddy's Italian Bakery & Café is an A+ experience!

Einstein Bros. Bagels used to be my go-to spot for a quick breakfast on the weekends, but my recent visits have left me disappointed. The atmosphere, once cozy and inviting, has taken a turn for the worse. The store feels unkempt, with trash on the floor and messy counters. On one visit, I had to ask for a refill on the half and half creamer, only to receive it back without even being cleaned. The bagels, which once smelled fresh and inviting, now carry a burnt aroma, though they weren’t toasted properly. My breakfast sandwich tasted off, more like egg salad than what I expected. Additionally, the bathroom was not in great shape, which further detracted from the experience. Customer service seems to be lacking as well. The staff, aside from one standout employee at the drive-through, seemed disengaged. It took a while before we were acknowledged when we walked in, and the greeting was less than enthusiastic. The dining area was busy, and we ended up cleaning our own table when we finally got a seat. On the positive side, the menu still offers a variety of breakfast options that we enjoy when prepared well. However, the inconsistent food quality and lackluster service overshadow the good points. It's disappointing to see a favorite spot lose its charm, but until improvements are made, I might have to explore other options for my weekend breakfast fix.

Spicy Bloody Mary to start the day? Yes, please! Breakfast at Richi's Diner was wonderful. I had Sunnyside up eggs with ham, fresh strawberries, and wheat toast. The service was excellent, and the food matched the great atmosphere. After breakfast, I hung out for a bit, and it was quite pleasant. Despite steady business, there were no issues with service. With two drinks from the bar and two breakfast plates, the bill was around $45. Initially, I was unsure about this place due to a previous experience where my fancy coffee and steak benedict had issues. The hollandaise sauce was almost broken and grainy, and the eggs were hard-poached instead of soft. The hashbrowns were more like a pile of scraggly sticks rather than crispy pieces. However, Theresa turned it around. She noticed the shortcomings immediately and rectified them. She was delightful and made the second set much better: soft-poached eggs, improved hashbrowns, and a generally decent experience. Overall, while the price point and quality didn’t quite meet my expectations back then, the positive experiences have been encouraging. The diner offers a discount on cash transactions, which is appreciated, although the bright CCTV light at the entrance could use some adjustment. There’s potential here, and I may give it another try in the future. It's a great spot for breakfast, and the lunch menu has some favorites too. The staff is friendly and helpful, and if it gets busy, sitting at the bar with Theresa is always a good option. For diner food, some dishes were hit or miss, but I'd recommend checking it out yourself. Great diner for breakfast!

I was thrilled to finally visit the new First Watch location after eagerly awaiting its opening. We chose a Thursday morning for our visit and decided to check in online since it seemed fairly busy. Upon arrival, the hostess promptly seated us within five minutes, which was impressive. While we weren't given a seasonal menu, our server informed us that the seasonal options weren't available yet since they’re still ramping up. Despite this, the food didn’t disappoint. We ordered the elevated egg sandwich and breakfast tacos, both of which arrived quickly and were as delicious as always. The vibe of the place is great—smaller than some other locations, but bright and fun, with a nice-sized outdoor patio. The interior decor is spot on, and even though a lot of the employees are new, they did a great job. The food was hot and tasty, making it a breakfast spot worth recommending. I'm pleased to see a First Watch out in the West Valley of Phoenix. The welcoming atmosphere, fantastic service, and reasonable prices make me look forward to returning soon.

The ambiance was okay, and the place was clean with a nice setup. We visited on 10/13/24 at 8:20 pm, even though they closed at 9 pm. I called ahead, and they were accommodating. John, the manager, and Nate, our waiter, were fantastic. It's always a great place to dine with wonderful customer service. If you need a spot for a good breakfast to start your day, this is it. The food was so good that I'm already planning to go back. I'm not usually a coffee person, but even their decaf coffee was excellent. Be kind to the waitresses—Kim is amazing. My first time at Scooter's Coffee was a memorable one. I'd always been curious about their coffee, not just the flavors but the quality, since I'm a coffee enthusiast. I decided to give it a try and asked Aliana, the sweet barista, for a surprise pumpkin iced coffee. She outdid herself by crafting a delicious iced coffee with pumpkin, caramel, almond milk, whipped cream, and cinnamon. It was hands down the best pumpkin coffee I've had in ages. Aliana even made it her treat, which was such a thoughtful gesture. In return, I shared a homemade Oreo cupcake I had from Big Ant's Bakery with her. I definitely plan to stop by again when I am in the area. I hope Aliana gets recognized for her excellent service and barista skills.
