El Mañanero

El Mañanero has quickly become my go-to spot for breakfast in Thornton. The portions are generous, and the prices are fair, which is a rare find. The food is consistently delicious, and I find myself stopping by several times a week. The Gorditas are a must-try, with bean and cheese and asada being my personal favorites. One of the best parts is that they accept credit cards, which is super convenient. Since moving to Thornton, this is genuinely the best food truck I’ve come across. The green salsa is fantastic, and their tacos guisados and breakfast burritos are top-notch. The staff is incredibly friendly, and everything is cooked to order, which adds a personal touch to the experience. The prices are so reasonable it's almost surprising. I give this place 5 stars because it meets a real need for the east side, especially in an area lacking good Mexican restaurants. The burritos may be on the smaller side, but they're priced right, and the salsa is excellent. My husband, who is quite picky about beans, loves theirs, which says a lot! I enjoy sitting outside, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere, and watching the hawks or nearby pop-up businesses. El Mañanero is unintentional and unassuming and has a casual and welcoming vibe that draws people together. Everything I’ve tried here has been amazing, with even the presentation being spot on.
Summer Moon Coffee

Summer Moon Coffee in Thornton is a fantastic spot for breakfast. The friendly staff makes the experience even better, creating an excellent atmosphere that feels like a second home. The coffee tasted absolutely amazing, and I could actually taste the flavor notes of the beans, which is rare for me as I can be quite picky. The barista even offered to adjust the sweetness, which I appreciated, although it wasn't necessary. The prices are reasonable compared to other cafes in the area, and my vegetarian burrito was surprisingly tasty. The vibes are great, with a calm and community-oriented layout that also has a hint of cozy study vibes. Joe and Josie, along with the rest of the staff, are welcoming and add to the warm environment. The *moon creamer* is a unique touch that adds a new and exciting flavor to the coffee. Overall, Summer Moon is a gem in the Denver Metro area, and I'd highly recommend stopping by if you're nearby. It's definitely a place I'd visit regularly if I were local!
BLUEBIRD Cafe
885 Thornton Pkwy, Thornton

Cindy Hailey
I visited the BLUEBIRD Cafe in Thornton for breakfast, and it was a fantastic experience. It's a classic old-fashioned diner with a warm, homey feel. We stopped by on our way to Rocky Mountain National Park, and the breakfast was great. The food was delicious, and the service was warm and welcoming. One thing I loved was that they serve you a whole decanter of coffee. It seems to be a popular spot with locals, as many were there during our visit. The cafe is a gem for breakfast and lunch, and the staff is super nice. The ambiance is just right for a cozy cafe experience. The food was amazing. The eggs Benedict featured perfectly poached eggs and luxurious hollandaise. The coconut pineapple pancakes were a delightful sweet treat. Everything I tried was wonderful, and they offer plenty of gluten-free options to suit any dietary needs. The burrito and pancakes were delicious, and the strawberry banana Belgian waffle was just perfect. Although it gets busy, the wait was only about 20 minutes on a weekend, which was definitely worth it. Overall, I highly recommend a stop here after leaving the Denver airport for some delicious food and friendly service.
Ziggi's Coffee

Andrea Wilson
Ziggi's Coffee in Thornton is one of my favorite spots for breakfast. Most of the time, this location is spot on with their service and offerings. The everything bagel sandwich with sausage is always delicious, and the coffee has a unique flavor that keeps me coming back. I love how consistently great the staff is—they're friendly and attentive, which makes every visit enjoyable. Despite the occasional issue, like the flies buzzing around or a drink mix-up, I still absolutely love Ziggi's. The quality of the drinks and food is top-notch, and the location is convenient, even if getting in isn't always the easiest. Overall, I'm pleased with each visit, and the positive experiences far outweigh the negatives.
Pete's Cafe

Fantastic family-run diner! The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the service was fantastic. Probably one of the best omelets I've had! I'm from Indiana, and my brother, who lives in Thornton, visits Pete's Cafe with his wife every weekend. They brought my husband and I along, and we loved it! The cafe itself is super cool, with plants on the ceiling and outdoor seating that's nicely shaded by grape vines. I ordered a burrito that was so big, I only ate half. The other half made for a great meal the next day. We sat on the patio, which was a nice, shaded area. The food was so good, I ate every bit of it. While the coffee is a bit pricey, I'd definitely return. I wanted a local breakfast spot, and this couldn't have been better. Pete's Cafe is a small, cozy, family-run business. The service was great, the food came out quickly, and it was delicious! At first, I wasn't sure about how the eggs were cooked, but they turned out to be amazing. While French toast is a favorite of mine, the pancakes couldn't be beat!
Lisa's Place

Yaro Ka Bergman
Lisa's Place for breakfast in Thornton is amazing. The green chili is top-notch, as are the rellenos. Breakfast here is a perfect 10/10—the best I’ve had in ages. I ordered the #3, which includes a two-egg breakfast with hash and a choice of toast. The quality of the food, service, and overall atmosphere was impressive. My eggs, cooked medium, were perfect and tasted fantastic. The staff was attentive and helpful, and the food arrived quickly and just as ordered. I'll definitely be making this my go-to spot over any chain restaurant like Denny’s or IHOP. The eggs and pork chops are delicious, and the prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting. Every meal I've had here feels like a great home-cooked dinner. The green chili has a real kick and incredible flavor, and every dish is outstanding. Having just moved nearby, I’m excited to become a regular at Lisa’s Place.
Doug's Diner: THORNTON

Akuwakuma Silveira
I had a fantastic breakfast experience at Doug's Diner in Thornton. Everything we tried was great, and the service was excellent. We stumbled upon their Happy Hour from 3-5 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, where all drinks are just $1.50. I enjoyed a cappuccino that was both delicious and incredibly affordable. The chicken street tacos were tasty, but the buffalo wings were some of the best I've ever had—highly recommended. My husband loved his enormous breakfast burrito, and I had a dish with housemade tortilla chips, eggs, hashbrowns, flavorful pork, cheese, and green chili sauce, which I absolutely loved. Despite being busy, the customer service was top-notch, with only a short wait to be seated. I also tried the breakfast burrito with bacon and sausage, covered in gravy, and it was amazing. My wife and I shared a cinnamon roll that was very good, and it was a sweet gesture that it was complimentary for our first visit. I suggest warming the cinnamon rolls for an even better experience. The lattes were tasty, the adavada potatoes were delicious, and the biscuits were good, too. All the servers were friendly and even took the time to greet our baby, which was very sweet. Overall, I highly recommend Doug's Diner for its great food and excellent service. The atmosphere was a bit loud, but that didn't take away from the enjoyable experience.
First Watch
100 E 120th Ave Unit G140, Northglenn

Vlada French
First Watch in Thornton is a fantastic spot for breakfast or brunch. The food is always fresh and comes in good serving sizes. The orange juice here is a standout—it's like they just picked the oranges straight from the tree. Every meal and drink I've had here has been enjoyable. The place can get busy on weekends, so getting on the waiting list or ordering takeout is a smart move. The servers and hosts are always friendly and quick with service and refills, which adds to the overall positive experience. If you're visiting the area and want a good breakfast or brunch, I highly recommend trying First Watch. I enjoy this place for its good food and service. Admittedly, I did pay $15 for what felt like an egg McMuffin. While it was delicious, it wasn't filling enough for an adult. Maybe adding some fries would help. I wouldn't recommend the Million Dollar Sandwich for the same reason—it's essentially a pricey egg McMuffin. Throughout our stay at a nearby hotel with limited food options, First Watch was a delightful find, just a short walk away. We ended up eating there three times and had a great experience each time. It's a great spot with a relaxed atmosphere and a wide variety of tasty food. Give it a try!

We were a party of four and were seated right away. The wait staff was super friendly and attentive, which made for a great start. The menu selection is huge, with something for everyone, even those with dietary restrictions like me, as a celiac. I usually go for eggs, but this time I tried the gluten-free pancakes, and they were fantastic! This spot is incredible for breakfast, and I wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. It’s hands down my favorite breakfast place in Thornton. If you’re looking for a fun time, they've got bottomless mimosas and breakfast cocktails. The food is cooked perfectly, and the service is top-notch. Bonus points for playing Blink-182! We enjoyed a great breakfast on the pet-friendly patio. The service was quick and pleasant. I highly recommend it. Although I had a less satisfying experience with a Monte Cristo takeout order—I found it dry and overcooked—I’m keen to return and dine in the restaurant. The staff is very nice and welcoming, and judging by the positive reviews, dining in is the way to go.
Snooze, an A.M. Eatery

Jerrod Culver
I've been to several Snooze locations, and the one in Thornton is definitely a standout. The food is always top-notch, but what really sets this place apart is the excellent service and the speed at which they get the food to your table. The pancakes are a must-try. They're light, fluffy, and bursting with creativity—worth the visit alone! Just make sure to come in early to avoid a wait, though their app can help you get on the list beforehand. If you do have to wait, there's a nice setup of backyard games to keep you entertained. Their strawberry shortcake pancake is phenomenal, and don't miss out on trying the Yellowbird sauces for a unique kick. The Bloody Mary was well-prepared and refreshing. Our server was attentive, and despite the busy vibe, the restrooms were kept clean. It's a cozy spot with delicious breakfast options and great drinks. On our visit, we mentioned it was our first time, and our waitress surprised us with a complimentary pineapple pancake—it was such a treat! The Spuds Deluxe I ordered was packed with flavor and came with a generous serving of hash browns, perfect for potato lovers. The cinnamon roll pancake, complete with cinnamon butter and frosting flavor, was delightful. Whether you're looking for a date spot or a place to gather with family and friends, Snooze in Thornton offers a wonderful experience all around.

Today, I had an absolutely fantastic breakfast at Denny's in Thornton. From the moment we walked in, we were seated right away, which started our experience on a high note. Our server, Marcia, was amazing. She recommended the strawberry stuffed French toast, and it was exquisite. My eggs were cooked perfectly, and the food overall exceeded my expectations. Marcia, along with another server, Ramon, provided excellent customer service, checking in on us regularly and ensuring everything was to our liking. The food came quickly, and both were very respectful and polite. I will definitely be coming back to this location soon. If you visit the Denny's on 104th, I hope you have the pleasure of Marcia serving you. Thank you to Marcia and the staff for a fantastic breakfast experience!
The Grumpy Egg (Formally known as Daylight Donuts)

Shaunquel G-Lover
When you walk into The Grumpy Egg in Thornton, you can immediately feel that family-owned warmth. This isn’t some fast-food experience; it’s real, honest-to-goodness food made with love. The vibe is old-school diner, with friendly folks chatting over coffee, and it feels like a slice of community spirit. The teenagers at the counter are helpful, guiding you through their straightforward ordering system. Simply place your order, find a seat, and they bring you your food. There's a self-serve station for coffee and water, which is perfect if you like things just so. The food, delicious and heartily prepared, has quickly made this my top breakfast spot. And while the ambiance is casual and welcoming, the quality of the food makes it stand out. It’s a place where you can relax, enjoy a good meal, and maybe even make some new friends. You don’t need to dress up—come as you are and enjoy a hearty breakfast. If you haven’t visited yet, grab your keys, hop in your car, and treat yourself to a meal here. It’s definitely worth it.
Renegade Burrito
10005 Grant St, Thornton
(303) 280-7052
Natalie Campbell
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My experience at Renegade Burrito for breakfast in Thornton was fantastic! The burritos are massive and bursting with flavor. The team there was friendly and made sure everything was spot on. I highly recommend this place to anyone craving a delicious and satisfying meal. The burritos aren't just big in size; they're packed with flavor. I managed to finish mine, but no one else at my table could. I probably should have eaten it slower to realize when I was full, but it was so good that I have no regrets! The setup reminded me of Qdoba, but with a better vibe thanks to the music. Despite the snow outside, the place was clean, and there were plenty of tables, all well-maintained. The staff was polite, if a bit quiet. I’m always on the lookout for a new breakfast burrito, and this place was definitely worth the drive. It impressed me enough that I plan on returning soon. Normally, I’m not a big burrito fan, but the ones here are exceptional. I’ll definitely be back. The staff was really nice, patient, and friendly. One small downside was a motion-activated jump scare spider in the lobby that caught me off guard. It felt a bit out of place in a restaurant setting, especially for someone with a heart condition. While I get that it's Halloween season, it might not be the best idea in a public dining area. But overall, I had a great time and look forward to my next visit!
Village Inn
16775 Washington St, Thornton
(720) 929-1500
Mark Cherry
Visiting Village Inn in Thornton for breakfast was a pleasant experience. Despite some ups and downs, the positives stood out. The restaurant has reopened post-COVID-19, and it’s nice to see the glass counter filled with pies I haven’t enjoyed in years. The restaurant is clean and the staff are kind, attentive, and respectful. The wait time was impressively short, making the meal start on a good note. Village Inn offers a good variety of food items, making it a suitable spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at reasonable prices. Handicap parking access is available, which is a thoughtful touch. Their initiative of a free slice of pie each Wednesday is a delightful perk that adds to the experience. While there were a few issues with the meal items, such as rock-hard fries and a small club sandwich, the breakfast foods, particularly the crepes, received positive feedback. Although some drinks and dishes were below expectations, the overall ambiance and service made the visit worthwhile. This place is a charming spot for anyone looking for a casual dining experience, especially if breakfast foods or pies are your go-to.
Dunkin'
8775 Washington St, Thornton
(303) 605-2622
Steve Herrera
On my birthday, I wanted to order a pancake wake-up wrap from Dunkin' in Thornton. Since it wasn’t available on Uber Eats, I called the store to see if I could customize my order. They told me it was possible, and I should mention my name after placing the order. I did exactly that, but when my order arrived, it wasn't what I expected. It turns out they could only make those changes for walk-in orders, which they didn't mention. The bacon I received was burnt and cold, not what I expected to start my day with. Despite this experience, I have to highlight the incredible staff at this location. Every time I visit, the crew never fails to impress me. Allie creates amazing drink combinations, and both the manager Lisa and assistant manager Josue are always helpful and friendly. One afternoon after work, I stopped by just for a coffee, and the service was outstanding. A girl with red hair and glasses attended to me, and her friendly service was exactly what I needed after a long day. While I might have some reservations based on my birthday experience, the staff here generally offers great service, making this Dunkin' a bright spot in my day.
Gunther Toody's Diner
16755 Washington St, Thornton
(303) 451-1950
Margie Hoffman
Gunther Toody's Diner in Thornton is a gem for breakfast lovers. The 50s style atmosphere is amazing, and the service is wonderfully friendly. The food is great and affordable, with portion sizes that won't disappoint, especially the massive burger that needed to be cut into four! Breakfast is served all day, making it perfect for any time you visit. I couldn't resist trying a milkshake, and it was one of the best I've had. Although I didn't get to try dessert, the options looked tempting. For adults, there are adult-beverage milkshakes that seem fantastic. The patty melt, cooked medium rare, could have used a touch more salt, but otherwise, everything from the chicken and waffles to the tater tots and chicken fried steak was delicious and well-prepared. The only downside was the dessert menu, which could use more variety, like pies and cakes. This place is definitely a hit for families with kids and anyone passing through. I love it here and can't wait to come back! Highly recommend if you're in the area.
Starbucks
45 E 120th Ave, Thornton
(303) 451-2314
Alex Miller
The service at this Starbucks location in Thornton was excellent. The staff was friendly and efficient, making my morning visit enjoyable. The breakfast item I ordered was delicious and lived up to the usual Starbucks quality. While the coffee was decent, it didn't particularly stand out, which is an area they could improve. The place was clean, which was reassuring, especially since I had to change my son's diaper on the floor due to the lack of changing stations in the bathrooms. The presence of a sharps container in the bathroom was noted, but it's surprising they chose to remove the changing stations, leaving me to consider changing my son on the tables instead. One employee greeted me warmly, and I appreciated the effort put into making my drink, which was so good I forgot to snap a photo. However, the outdoor patio and some tables inside could have used a bit more attention in terms of cleanliness. The line was long, as it often is, but the staff moved quickly and maintained a friendly demeanor, which was great. Overall, I had a positive experience, though there's room for improvement, particularly with the coffee and some aspects of cleanliness.
Waffle House
8401 Pearl St, Thornton
(303) 287-1337
Jose Ozorio
This was probably my best Waffle House experience ever. As soon as we walked in, we were seated immediately, and the music was just right. Our server quickly took our drink orders and came back with them in no time. We only waited about 5 minutes for our food, and it was delicious. I did need a new side of bacon because I forgot to specify that I wanted it crispy, but it came out within 2 minutes and was perfectly crispy. The sweet tea was just how I like it—sweet! Coming from South Carolina, I appreciated that touch. The service here was fantastic. I think the lady running things was named Gwen, and she did an excellent job. Both the cooks and servers were on point. Last weekend, I had the best late-night diner meal of my life here after a Phish show. We were a group of eight, and our server handled it like a pro. She was sweet and funny, which made the experience even better. Compared to our visit to Denny’s the night before, this place was a real gem. I loved the waffle, eggs, and taters smothered, covered, chopped, and diced—a perfect sweet and savory combo. I ate every last morsel and went to bed a happy man. The staff here is incredible. They joked around with us and made sure everything was perfect. I got some food to go for a slumber party my teenage daughter was having. The waitress made it super easy by providing all the utensils, sauces, and condiments we needed. I love this place because it made my life easier and the food was so good.
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store
350 W 120th Ave, Northglenn
(303) 280-9634
Gris Sanchez
Once upon a time, I didn't enjoy my visit to Cracker Barrel. We had ordered to-go, and it was a bit disappointing. But this time? Wow! We decided to dine in, and I was blown away. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. I’m gladly changing my previous 4-star rating to a big 5. My wife thought our server had a bit of an attitude, but I think that's just part of the experience sometimes. The only thing keeping it from a perfect score was the coffee, which was just okay. I like my coffee hot and flowing, and refills were a bit sparse. We visited on a weekday during lunch hour, and the place was nearly full, but we only had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated. I ordered the Meatloaf, and it was good, although I couldn’t help but compare it to another place's meatloaf I'd had recently. Service was quick, and paying upfront was a breeze, thanks to Teresa, the friendly cashier. Getting to the restaurant was a bit tricky for me, as GPS took me through some unexpected turns, but once there, the experience was fantastic. The food was great, and the gift shop was pretty cool too. The prices were excellent, and our waiter was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had a good experience. The food came out quickly, making for a very good visit overall. Thumbs up to Cracker Barrel for an enjoyable breakfast outing!
