Everything I had at Breakfast Bar in Virginia Beach was absolutely delicious! We kicked things off with “the three wishes,” which was incredibly creamy. I paired it with a coffee—light and sweet just as I like it—and our waitress happily brought extra creamer and sugar when I asked. For my main course, I chose the sweet potato waffle with chicken. It was absolutely delicious, especially with their homemade coconut syrup, which really elevated the flavors and sent my taste buds on a journey. I absolutely love this place and will definitely be coming back. Take it from me, if it's your first time, give it a shot. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, and while seating is limited, there’s enough room. It’s also children-friendly with available high chairs. The bathroom was clean and smelled nice too. Every aspect of the experience was spot on! I will be coming back! This hidden treasure in Virginia Beach offers outstanding food and great service. My wife and daughter finished all their food, which is rare! We’re definitely planning to try other menu items soon. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the brunch fusion is delicious. My only wish is that they stayed open later. Make sure to stop by for brunch. The cocktails were great, too. Our server was attentive, and the owner even stopped by for a chat, which was really nice. I tried the pork chop and waffles with spicy syrup, and my wife had the breakfast quesadilla. You won't be disappointed with this Hispanic/southern fusion!
Bay Local Eatery

I've been a regular at Bay Local Eatery in Virginia Beach for years, and I absolutely love it! The food is consistently delicious, although sometimes it might need a pinch of salt. The portions are generous, and I've been delighted with everything I've tried. The Jamaican rum French toast is crunchy, just as it's meant to be, so keep that in mind. The atmosphere is charming, though the restaurant is small and can feel crowded at times. Despite that, the decor adds a nice touch to the experience. Service can vary, with some amazing servers and others who might not give you much attention. However, during my last visit, we were lucky to have Cam as our server. She was fantastic and provided a heads-up about the floral taste of the lavender raspberry lemon fizz, which I enjoyed. I've tried a variety of dishes, and they all surpassed my expectations. The shrimp and grits, bay mimosa, and bangin' balls appetizer were all spot on. I also couldn't resist the French toast bites. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and were seated right away, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, Bay Local Eatery is a wonderful spot for breakfast, and I can't wait to return to try more of their menu. If you're looking for a great place to eat, this is definitely worth a visit!
Doc Taylor's Restaurant

First time at Doc Taylor's, and it won't be the last! This charming spot, set in an old house near the beach, is a gem. We arrived before 9 am and got seated right away, which surprised me given its popularity. The service was outstanding and impressively quick, with friendly and professional staff. Our party of five left feeling full and happy. The vibe is very chill, and the food is both good and inexpensive. Although the place is easy to miss, with its quirky front, it's definitely worth finding. I actually prefer it to most breakfast spots at Virginia Beach. The place was busy, especially for a Saturday, but we didn’t wait long at all. The menu offers a lot of choices at reasonable prices. I tried the heart attack, and it was delicious. Portions are generous, so come hungry! Our server was attentive and impressively remembered all our orders without writing them down. With its fast service, you're in and out quickly, ready to enjoy your day. A quick walk from our hotel made it even more convenient. I had the blueberry pancakes, while my husband enjoyed the orderly, a bacon and egg sandwich on Texas toast. We've visited multiple times during this trip, and each time was a pleasure.
The Egg Bistro

I've been to several Egg Bistro locations, but the General Booth spot is a standout! The decor creates such a welcoming vibe, and the place is always buzzing with energy. My daughter-in-law and I had a brunch here that we can't stop talking about. Those Mango and Peach Mimosas? Absolute bliss! We genuinely wish there was an Egg Bistro in Florida; it would be a fantastic addition. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted and had a short 10-minute wait. We opted for indoor seating and received a text when our table was ready. Our menus were already at the table, and the host graciously seated us. The menu had some very clever names for the dishes. Our server, Taylor, was prompt and offered great suggestions, especially for the mimosas, which really hit the spot. We had the surf and turf Benedict and the new Benedict and grits—both were delicious. Taylor checked on us frequently, ensuring everything was perfect. The military discount was a nice touch, and the service was exceptional. I highly recommend this place for breakfast and brunch in Virginia Beach. Whether dining on the patio, at the bar, or at a table, the experience is consistently amazing. Egg Bistro is locally owned, and their daily and weekly specials always keep things exciting. It's just minutes from the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, be it coffee, pancakes, breakfast burritos, or chicken and waffles. They prioritize locally sourced, farm-to-table ingredients, and it shows. The atmosphere and energy are fantastic, and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Plus, the half-price happy hour mimosas on the patio are a great bonus!
Bay Local Eatery

Bay Local Eatery is a great spot for breakfast in Virginia Beach. It's a laid-back and relaxing place just off Shore Drive, which makes it perfect for a chill morning meal. The food is absolutely amazing. I tried the chocolate chip waffles and chicken plate, and while I would suggest asking for fewer chocolate chips, the dish was still delicious. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, and the fried eggs and cheese grits were delightful. The orange crush was refreshing, although I couldn't taste much of the liquor, but that didn't take away from how good it was. The Big Al was a standout with cheese-filled biscuits covered in rich sausage gravy and topped with bacon bits. The mimosas were fantastic too, especially the sherbet ones. While the food is worth every visit, be prepared for some challenges. Parking can be tough, and it can get noisy inside, making conversation a bit difficult. It's usually crowded, which is a testament to how good the place is. There are options for outdoor seating, though they're by the parking lot, so the atmosphere might not be as great. Despite these minor issues, I absolutely recommend Bay Local Eatery. The service was great, and the server was sweet and attentive. Even when my lobster benny came out cold, they handled it well by discounting my ticket, and it still tasted phenomenal. The French toast bites were unforgettable, and I'll definitely be back for more. If you're nearby, this is a spot you don't want to miss!

Amazing place! The pancakes at Rick's Cafe are awesome. Mona, one of the staff members, is great and knows all kinds of interesting stuff. If you're in Virginia Beach, this is a must-try spot. They have a fantastic menu and serve breakfast all day, which is perfect for any breakfast lover. It's my first time visiting this diner, and we went during an off-peak hour, so it wasn't too busy. I ordered pancakes, biscuits with sausage gravy, and fried okra. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere is very casual and relaxing, giving off a true local vibe. It's the kind of place where you feel right at home with its all-day breakfast and homestyle dinner options. The service was fast and friendly, and the food came out quickly. While there wasn't anything overly exciting, it was definitely tasty and offered good portions for the price. If I'm in the oceanfront area again, I'd probably come back to try a burger. Overall, Rick's Cafe delivers excellent food and service with a small-town feel. The waitresses and staff are wonderful, and the food feels just like it's coming out of grandma's kitchen.
Sunrise Cafe

Jade Mashini
I visited Sunrise Cafe for breakfast in Virginia Beach, and it was a delightful experience. The diner has a charming, old-school vibe that's perfect for a relaxed meal. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. I decided to try the Classic Eggs Benedict, and it was exactly what I hoped for. The English muffin and Canadian bacon were just right, and the sauce was tasty. I also enjoyed scooping an egg over some grits—such a delicious combination! The pancakes are a highlight here as well, especially the sweet potato ones; they're the best I've ever had. While the hash browns were a bit under-seasoned for my taste, they weren't bad at all. Just a little tweak, and they'd be perfect. One downside was the rice pudding, as it was sour and not up to par, which was disappointing. However, the overall experience was positive, with friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. If you’re looking for a place with great food and service, and if you're really hungry, Sunrise Cafe is the place to go for its huge serving sizes. Whether you’re in for breakfast or lunch, it's a spot worth visiting.

Citrus in Virginia Beach is an awesome spot for breakfast! It's chill and super welcoming, especially if you have a dog. The menu is fantastic, and they even give you a cool frisbee to take home, which is a fun touch. The staff here are always amazing—they really make you feel at home. I love that there are two locations, but this one is the smaller, more intimate one, though it still offers plenty of space. The food options are excellent and reasonably priced, with vibrant and colorful presentation. Our server was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. There were six of us, and we devoured everything on our plates—it was all just that good. The bathrooms were clean, and we never felt rushed, which was nice since we ended up sitting and laughing for a good while. The waffles are a must-try, and the atmosphere is just right. Plus, free valet parking was a pleasant surprise. Citrus is definitely a great local gem with a wide variety of breakfast items, coffees, and cocktails. Highly recommend!

Bay Local Eatery in Virginia Beach delivers every time with fantastic food that's hard to beat. I ordered the sweet chili wings, and they were exactly what I needed, paired perfectly with a side of their amazing fries. The only downside is the noise level—it can be incredibly loud inside, which made it a bit challenging to chat with my friend. We even resorted to using napkins as earplugs! Service-wise, our waitress was attentive and friendly, even though we never caught her name. The hosts seemed a bit less enthusiastic, but they got the job done. As for wait times, it took about 50 minutes to receive our food, which was unexpected for wings and a breakfast plate, especially since it was just two of us dining. Perhaps it was the busy Saturday rush. The atmosphere is eclectic, with décor ranging from animal skulls to church pew benches, so there's plenty to look at while you wait. The bathroom was bright and relatively clean, which is always a plus. Overall, the food at Bay Local Eatery is the star of the show. If noise is an issue, sitting outside might be a better option. Despite some minor hiccups, the delicious dishes make it worth a visit.
Belvedere Coffee Shop & Diner

Belvedere Coffee Shop & Diner on the boardwalk at 12th Street is like a souped-up Waffle House, and I'm here for it. The location is fantastic, right on the beach, and the menu is straightforward and easy to order from. My breakfast was delicious, and it felt like a home-cooked meal. Everything was made just as I ordered, with French toast that was truly excellent, scrambled eggs with cheddar that hit the spot, and perfectly cooked bacon and sausage links. My over-easy eggs were done just right, too. Highly recommended! This charming little diner, part of the Moxy, makes for a perfect breakfast spot. My partner and I enjoyed sitting at the counter and having our standard breakfast of eggs, hash browns, sausage links, and an English muffin. We both like our hash browns differently, and they got them just right—crispy for my partner and soft for me. Our server, Shallah, made the experience even better with his friendly and accommodating service. We’re definitely coming back! The place is new, clean, and has welcoming staff. The food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. We tried the French toast breakfast, a patty melt, and a side of fruit—all satisfying. With hours from 6:30 am to 2 pm daily, it’s a convenient spot for a tasty meal.

When we visited Mary's Kitchen for breakfast in Virginia Beach, the experience was absolutely delightful. From the moment we were seated, to when our beverages arrived, everything was prompt and efficient. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere of the place instantly made us feel at home. Our waitress was quick to take our order, and the food arrived hot and tasty. Being a local, I've heard great things about Mary’s from friends, and I wasn't disappointed. This time, we decided to try their breakfast offerings, and it truly lived up to the expectations. The diverse menu has something for everyone, and the seasoning was spot-on. I thoroughly enjoyed my 'Beach Breakfast' egg whites with roasted tomatoes and spinach, paired with perfectly cooked turkey bacon. My husband’s healthy omelet with avocado was also a hit. One thing that stood out was how fresh and good the coffee was, which is always important to me. The servers were incredibly friendly, adding to the warmth of the experience. The prices were reasonable, making it a great spot for both locals and tourists. Although we haven't tried the desserts yet, they looked scrumptious, and I look forward to coming back for more meals. Overall, I highly recommend Mary's Kitchen for anyone looking for a welcoming and tasty breakfast spot in VB.
Pop's Diner Co.

Great food at reasonable prices and a friendly staff make Pop's Diner Co. a must-visit spot for breakfast in Virginia Beach! Our group of five stopped in on a Sunday morning in June 2024 and had a fantastic meal. Our server, Mykennah, was wonderful and offered some excellent recommendations. Even though she mentioned she was new to serving, she did an outstanding job and was incredibly friendly. We highly recommend the corned beef hash and omelettes, and the mimosas were a hit too. The new location is not far from the previous one, and while it may look like an ordinary brick building from the outside, the inside is clean and brightly decorated. The food was delicious, with generous portions. The breakfast grits were amazing—huge, fresh, and cheesy. The country-fried steak was perfectly crispy, even with the gravy. We went during a less busy time, and the service was impressively fast. Though I don't live in Virginia Beach anymore—or even in America—Pop's Diner Co. is always on my checklist when I visit. I love everything about this restaurant, from the friendly service to the talented cook staff. It's nice to come back to a place that feels like home. Thanks for a great experience! 😊

My visit to Citrus Breakfast and Lunch in Virginia Beach was delightful. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff was friendly and attentive, greeting us warmly and making sure we were comfortable while we waited to be seated. Although the place was bustling with activity, Samantha, our server, provided excellent customer service throughout our meal. The atmosphere is clean, warm, and inviting, with a charming decor that lets light filter beautifully through colored glass. Despite a reasonable 30-minute wait, it was well worth it. Once seated, our food arrived promptly and was beautifully presented. I decided to try the seafood omelette and banana pancake with sweet pecan drizzle. The omelette was creamy, fluffy, and absolutely delicious—easily the best I've had. The banana pancake was generously sized and paired perfectly with the pecan drizzle. I also tried the cinnamon pancake, which was fantastic. My friends and I were pleased with all of our choices, and even the little one in our group enjoyed her meal. The portions were generous, making the pricing reasonable. We appreciated not being rushed and enjoyed a lovely morning. The restaurant also offers a military discount, which is a nice touch. While they are only open from 7 am to 3 pm and close on Tuesdays, Citrus remains popular for a reason. I left with a smile and excitement to return with family.

I had a fantastic breakfast experience at Village Inn in Virginia Beach. From the moment I walked in, the manager gave a warm greeting, which set a welcoming tone for the rest of the visit. We were seated right away, and our server, Katie, was attentive and sweet. She made sure our meal was enjoyable from start to finish. The portions were generous, and the food was hot and delicious. I especially loved the omelets and can’t forget to mention the burgers—they’re the biggest I’ve ever seen! The fries complemented the meal perfectly, and their famous pies are not to be missed. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and a place I highly recommend for breakfast.

From the moment we walked into Scrambled for breakfast in Virginia Beach on a bustling Saturday morning, we knew we were in for something special. Despite being the third group in line, the service was impressive. Our waitress, though busy, remained composed and efficient, with help from a fellow staff member. The entire team ensured our food arrived hot and timely. The crab Benedict was simply outstanding, with no fishy taste, just pure perfection. My wife loved her French toast, and the tequila sunrises were delicious. I'm thrilled we stumbled upon this gem during our vacation. The chef even came out to check on us, which added a personal touch to an already great experience. While they seemed a bit short-staffed, the way they handled the morning rush was commendable. The falafel was the best I've ever tasted, and the service was friendly and attentive. Though the music inside was a tad loud, it didn’t overshadow the fantastic meal. There's limited outdoor seating and a full bar inside, offering plenty of options. Located on busy Atlantic Avenue, it's just a short, easy walk to the beach and boardwalk after dining. Parking was convenient, just half a block away. If you're looking to eat where the locals do, this is the place! Locally owned with amazing food—definitely a spot we'll return to.
Roosters Cafe & Grill

Brian Perrotta
I had breakfast at Roosters Cafe & Grill in Virginia Beach, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. The food was generally good, and the staff was friendly. The interior was nice and clean, which made for a pleasant atmosphere. However, the wait time was quite long despite many empty seats, which was frustrating. It took about 15 minutes to get seated and another 20 minutes to receive my order. I understand busy hours can be challenging, but the waiting time felt excessive. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, which came with three eggs and a choice of grits or breakfast potatoes. I chose grits and had my eggs scrambled with cheese. The eggs and grits were decent, but the gravy was a letdown—it was bland and almost cold, with very little sausage. On a positive note, the server was attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. I noticed there were no sugar substitutes on the table, so I had to ask for them, but it wasn't a big issue. Prices were reasonable, and there was even a discount for cash payments, which is becoming more common. Overall, my experience wasn't impressive, but I might give it another try with a different dish. I've heard it's a good spot for lunch and dinner, so I may return to explore more of their menu. Despite the issues, the food quality and friendly service make me consider coming back.

First Watch in Virginia Beach is a fantastic spot for breakfast. The food here is truly amazing, and I was very impressed with the freshness of the ingredients. The service was outstanding; both the hostess and the waitress were attentive and professional, making sure we had everything we needed. It was my first visit, and it was great! Despite the hustle and bustle of the place, I was able to relax and enjoy my meal. My husband and I had a wonderful experience, and the food and service were both top-notch.

Anchor Allie's has been a beloved spot for breakfast in Virginia Beach. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the service consistently top-notch. Jamie H. made us feel right at home, accommodating all our requests with a warm smile. The iced mocha lattes hit the perfect balance of smoothness without being overly sweet, while the Bloody Mary, though I missed a pickle spear and cheese stick, was still fantastic. The espresso waffle was an absolute treat, perfectly combining softness, chewiness, and crispiness with an incredible flavor. The breakfast tacos were a delightful mess, bursting with flavor, and the omelet was cooked to perfection with a presentation that impressed. While parking was a bit of a hassle, the walk was more than worth it for such a phenomenal meal. The home fries were just right, neither too crispy nor too soft. This visit was truly one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time, reminding me why we keep coming back to Anchor Allie's. Despite the occasional hiccups, this place continues to shine in customer service and quality. Thank you for keeping the spirit of great dining alive.
The Greenery

Mary Garcia
I had a great experience at The Greenery for breakfast. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, with a wide variety of delicious options like scrambled cage-free eggs, turkey sausage, bacon, pancakes, and more. I particularly enjoyed the mini waffles and biscuits with gravy. The staff was attentive, even going out of their way to bring me a Diet Coke from another restaurant nearby. I appreciated that! It's located in the Holiday Inn, which made it easy to find, and the cozy, quiet room was a nice start to my day. Although it's breakfast only with limited hours, the buffet offered plenty of choices for everyone. At $17.79 including drinks, I found it reasonable, especially for the quality and variety offered. When I visited with a party of four at 8 am, we were seated right away, and the service was prompt. While some guests seem to have had issues in the past, we didn’t experience any of that. Everything was served fresh and warm. On a previous occasion, I tried their takeout and found the turkey bacon, over-medium eggs, and potatoes to be absolutely delicious. My wife's vegetable omelette was also a hit. Although the takeout took a bit longer than expected, the food was worth the wait. Overall, I was very satisfied with my visit and look forward to trying the buffet again. The prices were reasonable, and the whole experience was pleasant. I'll definitely be back!

I had a wonderful experience at The Swan Terrace for breakfast. The atmosphere is peaceful, with stunning views overlooking the courtyard and lake. The staff is friendly, making me feel welcome every time I visit. The food is consistently delicious, especially the made-to-order omelets, baked potatoes, and grits. The salad station is always fresh, adding a nice touch to the meal. The breakfast add-on is worth every penny, especially when staying at the hotel. I love dining here and find myself visiting at least twice a week. The ducks and geese add a charming touch to the experience. I'm impressed with how the new management has handled any previous issues, and it's clear they care about their guests. I’m looking forward to many more breakfasts at this lovely spot. 5 stars!
