We decided on Waco Waffle Co for a mother/daughter outing, and it was an excellent choice! The variety of waffles they offer, from sweet to savory to traditional, is amazing, and the food was beyond excellent. As soon as we walked in, the service was superb, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing time together. Sitting outside was ideal, and the setting with the old wood structure added to the charm. The staff was incredibly nice, and though there was a wait for the food, it was expected because everything is made fresh. I tried the Webster, loaded with strawberries and just the right amount of drizzle, and it exceeded my expectations. The waffles are substantial, far from your usual flimsy options. The homemade whipped cream was the star for me; I could eat a bucket of it! The meal wasn’t overly sweet, which was perfect. Portions are generous, so if you're not extremely hungry, consider getting a half. My companion had the breakfast sandwich with turkey and enjoyed it thoroughly, even finishing my other half. The outdoor seating is cozy and comfortable, complete with ceiling fans, and there's a lovely area under the trees with picnic tables and games for everyone to enjoy. The owner was very friendly, and the food arrived quickly. We were tempted to take some home, but given the 1.5-hour journey, we decided otherwise. Great food, sweet people, and very clean! Gospel Cafe in Waco, TX is truly a blessing from the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm currently on a healing journey and find myself homeless. Ending up here has been such a gift. The cafe is a wonderful resource for anyone in need of a hot meal. I love eating here and having fellowship with the people from the neighborhood and the church community. The staff is incredibly friendly and compassionate, especially towards the homeless and less fortunate. The cafe offers a variety of services that go beyond just serving food. They have a volunteer nurse, host NA and AA meetings, and even have a prayer room. The meals are served for free, but they do accept donations. There's a good selection of breakfast options, including sandwiches, salads, and delightful desserts, along with meals suitable for small children. I find myself coming three times a week because the generosity and compassion shown here are unmatched. The food is always freshly made and the environment is very clean. Gospel Cafe accepts everyone with open arms, and I am so grateful to them for thinking of every human in need of a meal. I thank God for their kind hearts and pray that He continues to bless them with the strength and patience to carry on this incredible work.

One of the best day trips ever was going to Cafe Homestead for breakfast in Waco. I can't recommend highly enough making reservations, as we managed to snag a table during peak hours by booking two weeks in advance. The food was impressively fresh and absolutely delicious. I had the chicken fried steak, and it was so tender, it practically melted in my mouth! We'll definitely be back, no doubt about it. The place is a gem – an absolute must-visit. Beyond the excellent food and lovely setting, what truly stood out was the service. Our server was attentive, kind, and genuinely interested in making our experience special, the perfect host. In our group of ten, everyone enjoyed their meals. We had a variety of dishes like steaks cooked to perfection, enchiladas, chicken pot pie, chicken fried steak, burgers, and desserts – all were fantastic. Joel, our server, was outstanding – professional, friendly, and patient, enhancing our experience significantly. The restaurant itself is beautiful and adds to the overall charm. We tried so many dishes, from chicken fried chicken to a chicken salad sandwich and a BBQ brisket sandwich. Though we were full, we couldn't resist the key lime pie, which was to die for. It had the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring a wonderful visit. Looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the activities! I found a gem for breakfast in Waco at The Mix Cafe. Their BLT is definitely worth coming back for. We also tried the chicken salad, Dr Pepper pulled pork, and sweet potato fries, all of which were fantastic. The service was quick and friendly, and there's a wide variety of creative sandwiches to choose from. Unfortunately, they were out of crème brûlée, but there's always next time. The interior could use some deep cleaning, and the furnishings are a bit worn, but the food quality more than makes up for it. We ordered a range of items including flatbreads, quesadillas, and burritos, and even the pickiest of eaters—teenagers—were impressed. I don't usually stop in Waco, but now I have a great reason to. With delicious food, good service, and a wide variety of options, it truly is a perfect mix of everything. Highly recommend checking it out!

If you're ever passing through Waco, stopping by Kim's Diner for breakfast is an absolute must! We stumbled upon this charming spot and immediately fell in love with its 50s theme. The atmosphere is delightfully retro and well-maintained, which really set the stage for a fantastic meal. We kicked things off with a basket of fried pickles that were perfectly crispy and paired with ranch. The tots were a standout—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Then came the burgers, which were juicy, flavorful, and tasted just like homemade. While the fries were decent, the highlight was definitely the chocolate milkshake. It was thick, rich, and the kind of treat you’d regret not ordering. The diner offers friendly, no-pressure service, and your food arrives quickly and hot. Everything from the country fried steak, crunchy and smothered in gravy, to the mashed potatoes and crispy fried okra, hit the spot. To top it all off, the chocolate lava cake was pure indulgence, perfectly accompanied by a cold glass of milk. With prices lower than expected, Kim's provides great value. I wouldn’t mind making the 45-minute drive out here again. Highly recommend it if you want delicious food and a nostalgic atmosphere!

On our trip to Waco, we decided to stop by Magnolia Table for breakfast. We didn't have a reservation, so we put our name in and had an hour to explore before getting paged to claim our table. It was absolutely worth the wait. The breakfast was perfectly cooked, and those biscuits were incredible! The strawberry butter added the perfect touch. Although the donut holes were slightly overcooked, the cooked apples made up for it with their spot-on flavor. The mimosas were nicely done, and the service was friendly and attentive. Our waiter, possibly named Angelo or Angel, made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant itself was super cute, and the food presentation was on point. My breakfast sandwich was so good that I almost forgot to take a picture before digging in. The egg was cooked perfectly, with the yolk gushing out just right. My boyfriend loved his biscuits with eggs and gravy too. I’m still dreaming about that amazing pumpkin bread—moist with a light crust, just perfect! We've tried to visit Magnolia Table on past trips, and this time, with a reservation, we finally made it. The food was fresh and creatively presented, with excellent flavors. It didn’t feel pretentious but rather like a delicious, hometown experience. The pecan coffee was a standout over the regular drip. Though the space is open, the noise level was comfortable, making it easy to chat. The place carries on a legacy from the days of the Elite Cafe and is creating new experiences for future generations. Big thanks to Chip and Joanna for this spot! The atmosphere was a bit lively when we arrived due to folks finishing brunch, but it added to the energy of the place. The Deviled Eggs with Candied Pepper Bacon were unbeatable, and that pumpkin bread was just right—not too sweet, with the perfect chocolate touch. The only downside was that the drinks were pre-mixed, which was a bit of a letdown. I’d love to come back and give their lunch or dinner menu a try!

For my birthday, I decided to have breakfast at Harvest on 25th, and I'm so thankful to have such delicious, healthy vegan options in Waco! While parking was a bit tricky, there is some available on the side of the building. I ordered the Happy Harvest Eggs breakfast. Although the eggs were overcooked, the meal had some highlights. The sweet potato hash was alright, but the kombucha was a refreshing choice. The bacon was real good, and the pancakes were exceptional, even though they were small. What really stands out here is the farm-to-table approach, as it's clear they put love and passion into their dishes. The staff was super nice, even though I couldn't buy a brownie since they weren't packaged yet. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it one of my favorite spots in Waco for fresh and healthy food. Their Kale Walnut Caesar Salad is a must-try. I opted to add chicken, which was flavorful, juicy, and had a crispy exterior. It's tempting to order this salad every time I visit. And the vegan pizza? Delicious! You can tell it's made with fresh, homemade ingredients that make it unique and tasty. During our one-night stop in Waco on our way back to San Antonio, my husband found World Cup Cafe and Fair Trade Market online. We were in the mood for pancakes, and their big, fluffy, freshly-made pancakes did not disappoint. The atmosphere was great, the staff was friendly, and the menu offered a nice variety of options. I tried the spinach breakfast bowl and added biscuits with sausage gravy—absolutely mouthwatering. Be sure to note that on Saturdays, the lunch menu is limited, but breakfast is available all day. Without a doubt, I'll be back the next time we're visiting. Their blueberry pancakes are the best I've ever had, incredibly fluffy and made from scratch. This was our first visit, and I highly recommend it. It's a pet-friendly spot with amazing staff and delicious food. The praline toast was fantastic, and even our pups approved of the sausage. Plus, I really appreciate their mission.

Stopped in for brunch at The Olive Branch and it was fantastic. The Farmers Hash hit the spot, and I couldn’t help but notice the variety of delicious dishes being served around me. I’m already planning to come back to try more! The service was great, and the coffee was excellent. There’s a reason for the short wait for a table—this place is popular for a reason. Highly recommend it for the great service and amazingly tasty eats. The avocado toast was the best I’ve ever had, and the syrup for the pancakes was unique and flavorful. I’ll definitely be returning. The biscuits were delicious, and overall, the brunch experience was wonderful. It’s a fun spot for a family occasion, offering a good atmosphere, large portions, and a flexible menu. Don’t forget to add the side of gravy. We loved sitting at the round table at the top of the stairs—perfect for a birthday breakfast! It was worth the wait. The vegan options were impressive, too. The burger and vegan skillet were so good. The staff was sweet, and we enjoyed shopping in The Spice Market Center right upstairs afterward.

The Brown House Cafe is a great spot for breakfast in Waco. It's got that home-cooked, classic breakfast vibe that I love. Our waitress, Gigi, was amazing—so kind and welcoming, and you could tell she enjoyed being there. The food came out quickly, and we were done eating in just 30 minutes. I ordered the chicken fried steak with onion rings and mac and cheese. The chicken fried steak was excellent and really generous in size. The onion rings were good, though not the best I've had. The mac and cheese was a bit bland for my taste, but everything else on the menu seems fantastic, so I would still recommend giving this place a try. Just be aware that the online menu prices are cheaper than what you'll find in the restaurant. We visited on a Saturday for brunch and were pleasantly surprised that there wasn’t much of a wait. The portions were generous, prices fair, and overall the service was top-notch. One thing to note: cooking smoke from the kitchen did wander into the dining area, which was a little irritating to the eyes. If you're looking for a good local breakfast spot, this place is a solid choice. I highly recommend the chicken omelette!

The Scramble was packed with flavor and offered great value, while the pancake truly lived up to its "Pancake Heaven" promise, being fluffy yet capable of soaking up just the right amount of syrup. The ham and cheese omelet was another highlight, arriving in about 20 minutes, which was reasonable given the bustling crowd. Despite a minor wait, my coffee cup was never empty, and the omelet was well-portioned and delicious, paired with tasty marble rye toast. While the music and lights were a bit inconsistent, and there was a slight hiccup with cold biscuits and gravy, these were minor setbacks. The food, on the whole, was excellent.
