Savor the Flavor at Brooklyn Bakery in CT! Brooklyn Bakery is a special place, even for someone like me who usually avoids sweets. The flavors speak for themselves without drowning you in sugar. For my birthday, my daughter surprised me with an assortment from Brooklyn Bakery, and each bite was a perfect blend of sweetness and freshness. You can really tell the quality and care they put into every item they bake. If you're after indulgence without a sugar rush, this is your spot. The doughnuts, especially the glazed ones, are delicate yet delectable. The breakfast sandwiches are simple, exactly what you crave. It's no surprise this bakery is an institution. Years ago, my father would take me to the Brooklyn section of Waterbury for glazed and jelly donuts. I still remember the wooden tables filled with donuts and the amazing aroma. In all these years, I've yet to find a donut as satisfying as theirs. The rolls, breads, and pastries are out of this world too! Some might critique the coffee, but remember, this is a bakery, not a café. If it's coffee you're after, there's a Dunkin' and Starbucks down the road. This bakery deserves its title as the best donut spot in CT. My mom and I recently visited from Pennsylvania, and these were the best donuts we've ever tasted. They were absolutely delicious. Even though we arrived at the end of the day, the lady serving us generously added a couple of extra donuts since they were closing. The staff is super friendly. We were on the highway when we finally tasted them and immediately regretted not buying more. Next time, we're definitely getting a dozen or more. If you're searching for delicious donuts, I wholeheartedly recommend Brooklyn Bakery.

I had a great breakfast experience at Spirit Cafe in Waterbury. The penil was tasty, with both shredded and full pieces, and the avocado was super fresh. I also tried their lemonade, which was excellent. Although the plantain was a bit dry, the chipotle sauce complemented it well. If you're into Spanish food, this place is worth checking out. The prices are reasonable, with each plate around $10, although the portion sizes can vary. When I arrived, they did mention they were open, but we were later asked to leave as they were closing, which was a surprise. I didn't know their hours, but they are posted on the door. The coffee and food were delicious, and the customer service was professional. The cafe's spacious environment makes it perfect for studying or hanging out with friends. I had a chance to chat with a staff member, and when asked for feedback, I suggested adding more food photos to the menu for clarity on portion sizes. Visuals can really help customers decide. This place is a hidden gem downtown, with fantastic coffee and a range of flavors, including specialty lattes. The bread is soft and tastes freshly baked, though I haven’t tried their bakery items yet. I highly recommend Spirit Cafe for anyone looking for a good coffee or breakfast spot. The staff is friendly, and it’s a great place to relax or get some work done.

My husband and I had a fantastic breakfast at Aurora Diner in Waterbury! We both left feeling full and happy. The food was delicious, especially the homemade danish, which I devoured too quickly to take a picture of. It's a cozy spot perfect for a tasty breakfast. Our server was polite and attentive, striking the right balance without being overbearing. The hash was flavorful, though a bit soggy, and the toast was slightly hard. There was a small leak inside, which seemed to be ignored, and it was a bit humid, but these were minor issues. Overall, it was a pleasant visit, and we're definitely coming back to try more from the menu. It's a cute and cozy diner, and while the indoor tables fit four people or less, we enjoyed sitting outside on a nice day. The service was quick, and our meals were satisfying!

The Green Deli in Waterbury is a must-visit spot for anyone in the area. The food is as fresh as it gets, made right when you order. Their selection of hot and cold grinders and kosher foods is impressive. The chicken shawarma is particularly noteworthy—seasoned perfectly, with tender and juicy meat that has a nice crispy edge. Wrapped in a warm pita and paired with fresh vegetables and creamy garlic sauce, it's incredibly satisfying and filling. The deli also offers consistently pleasant service. The staff always greets you with a smile and good spirits, which makes for a welcoming environment. Although there was a minor issue with fries on a different occasion, the quality of the food keeps me coming back for more. It's a great place for a quick and delicious bite, and the prices are reasonable. Overall, The Green Deli is a solid choice in Waterbury.

Tried East Gate Luncheonette in Waterbury for breakfast, and it was a great experience! Don’t let the parking lot fool you; the inside has a nice, cozy vibe. The service was fast and friendly, and despite a few food items being a bit cold, the coffee was hot and satisfying. The prices are good, offering standard breakfast fare that hits the spot. The pancakes were huge and tasted great, and the hot chocolate was a treat. The French toast was perfect. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but it adds to the charm and makes it feel like stepping back into an old-time diner. Just watch out for the ketchup container—it tends to pour out a little too much. It was my first visit, and I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. It’s a familiar, affordable place with excellent service. We even took a large party last minute, and they accommodated us with no hesitation. Definitely worth a visit, and I highly recommend it!

My husband couldn't stop raving about the Shrimp Bocco, a delicious creation with pizza-like dough packed with shrimp. The staff at Leo's is incredibly attentive and friendly, making the dining experience even better. Despite being a popular local spot, with a bit of a wait to be seated, it was undoubtedly worth it. Our food arrived quickly and hot, highlighting the well-prepared and delicious options available. The French fries were some of the best I've had in ages, and the eggs were cooked to perfection with crispy bacon and fluffy pancakes. Their seasonal and year-round specials are fantastic, with family favorites like "Eight is Enough" and "Threes Company." Plus, there's a tempting selection of fresh baked goods at the front counter. Meriden Rd Diner in Waterbury is definitely a hidden gem. The first time I walked in, I was a bit unsure because the decor is pretty mismatched and the place looks shabby, but the food completely won me over. I tried the Hungry Women's Special, and it was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the French toast was simply amazing. My husband enjoyed his blueberry pancakes and omelette too, and he didn't have a single complaint. The food here is delicious and reasonably priced. The portions are generous, well-seasoned, and fresh. On my fourth visit, my family and I had the same great results. I had salmon with rice and tostones, my husband tried another omelette, and my daughter loved her burger. Everything was great and priced fairly. It's not the fanciest spot, but the quality of the food makes up for it. Plus, the service is fast and friendly. They've got a nice variety, including Spanish dishes, which is a nice twist for a diner. It's clean, cozy, and a safe place to enjoy a meal, especially during the pandemic. I look forward to trying more dishes on their menu.

I'm usually not a coffee person, but this was delicious, even better than Starbucks! I do wish they added whipped cream on top, though. The café has a cozy atmosphere, and the female waitress was friendly on both visits. I stopped in from Mass and found that the food was amazing, especially considering the prices. It's definitely a must-try if you're in the area. This was my first visit since the new owners took over. I've been coming here with my husband for nearly two years, almost every weekend, and this was the first time I noticed a few changes. There was no TV or music, and some arguing in the kitchen was a bit distracting. However, the lady taking orders was nice as usual. My husband's French toast didn't taste quite right, and his hash browns were a little too greasy. My pancakes had a different taste, more like flour, but the thicker bacon was a nice touch, and the potatoes were more seasoned, which I actually liked. Despite some of these changes, I'll be back in a few weeks to see how things are. Overall, it's a spot for a delicious breakfast at a reasonable price, and the waitress's friendliness makes it worth returning.

I visited Bill & Sam's Diner in Waterbury for breakfast, and it did not disappoint. I ordered three eggs over medium, dry Italian toast, well-done shredded potatoes, and one piece of well-done Texas French Toast. Everything was perfectly cooked. Despite the place's busyness, the staff was helpful, and I noticed the owners cooking with precision. I've been coming here for years, though it had been about a year since my last visit. Back then, I felt the serving size was lacking, but this experience made up for it. The diner celebrated 50 years of serving breakfast all day back in 2020, and it’s clear why it has such a loyal following. There’s a charming mural depicting Wolcott, and the tables showcase local business sponsors, which adds a nice community feel. On another visit, my partner enjoyed a sausage and cheese sandwich on a fresh roll with coffee, while we waited for a nearby appointment. We’ve also tried lunch; I had a juicy 1/4 lb. cheeseburger, and my partner opted for the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich, both delicious. The diner closes early, except on select days, and there’s take out and outdoor seating when the weather's nice. The staff is always friendly and attentive. My partner has his staple meal with a Western omelet, corned beef hash, and rye toast, always with Frank's hot sauce. I prefer to mix it up, trying a sausage and onion omelet with Italian toast this time. The consistent quality and warm service make Bill & Sam's a go-to spot for us.

The triple-decker sandwiches and the variety of chicken sandwiches are excellent choices for lunch. Plus, they offer delivery through Uber Eats, which adds to the convenience. The prices are reasonable, and the menu options are vast, giving off that classic diner vibe. The moment I walked in, I was seated immediately, and my drink order was taken within a minute. I went for a bacon, spinach, and Swiss omelette, with apple/orange juice and coffee. The cleanliness of the place is impressive—probably the cleanest diner I’ve ever seen. The breakfast is super tasty; the Eggs Benedict was good, and the home fries were perfectly seasoned and crisped. The eggs could have been poached a bit longer, but that’s a minor quibble. The restaurant feels very welcoming and cozy, and it's super clean. We'll definitely pin this for future trips. We all enjoyed our food, picking from the large and varied menu. I do wish there were more healthy options. The only issue was that we weren't told we needed to pay our bill at the counter, so we waited a while for the waitress to take our cards before realizing. It's definitely a restaurant with an older or generational crowd, which is very low-key and relaxing, especially since they serve alcohol in the early morning. With me working 3rd shift, that's exactly the kind of spot I'm looking for after I punch out at 7 a.m. The food is definitely delicious. I've been here several times, and I haven’t had a bad thing to say about the place at all. Fast service, amazingly kind waitresses, and a good amount of parking. I would recommend it for sure. My impressions are based partly on assumptions, as I was picking up orders for Uber Eats on a Sunday, and the place was packed. The staff was very friendly, and I assume the food is pretty good because there were people coming in and out for hours. I picked up several orders delivered anywhere from 5 to 15 miles away. At first, I was hesitant to stay at Dottie's for breakfast because of the political decor, which seemed a bit much for a family setting. However, I'm really glad I decided to stay. The blueberry pancakes were truly incredible, really hitting the spot. While I wasn't a fan of the breakfast casserole, the omelettes were quite good, although the portion size of the side potatoes was small. Despite the price being on the higher side, the quality of the food was evident. My daughter's meal, though, was a concern. She was served spoiled chocolate milk, and when I pointed it out, the server insisted it wasn't expired. This wasn't handled well, but I'm hopeful it's an isolated incident. On a positive note, the staff overall was attentive and pleasant, and they serve exceptional locally-produced Nodine’s bacon, which is a standout. I've been visiting Dottie's for about a year now, and their specials are consistently excellent. The various French toasts are absolute must-tries, especially the banana bread and blueberry cinnamon crumb. Their egg casserole platter is hearty and satisfying. This diner is a gem for those who appreciate good food and can overlook the political flair.

I frequently stop by Dunkin' in Waterbury for breakfast, and I have to say, the team there is generally top-notch. The employees are always kind and sweet, which makes each visit pleasant. One standout is Nina; she nails my coffee order every time and makes the wait enjoyable with her friendly demeanor. If you haven't tried the sweet foam yet, I highly recommend it—it's delicious! That being said, there are a couple of issues that seem to crop up. Orders sometimes get mixed up, especially during busy times, which can be frustrating when you're in a rush. I’ve had instances where I received iced coffee instead of hot or undercooked hash browns, and there have even been a few times I've been given regular coffee when I ordered a latte. It does seem like the manager, Fatima, could be more hands-on, especially when things are hectic. It would really help to have her contribute to the flow rather than just directing from the sidelines. This would make a huge difference in the overall experience and efficiency of the team. Despite these hiccups, I keep coming back because it's conveniently on my route to work, and the consistent friendliness of the staff makes up for any occasional mishaps. With a bit of improvement in management involvement and order accuracy, this Dunkin' could easily earn a full five stars.
