We stopped in for brunch at Rory Dolan's Restaurant & Bar in Yonkers and absolutely loved it! The moment we walked in, the friendly vibe was palpable, and the fish & chips were simply the best we've had outside of Ireland. The inviting atmosphere, with its Irish charm, made us feel right at home. Although there was a small mix-up with our rack of lamb being slightly overcooked, and the check took a bit longer than expected, the overall experience was still exceptional. We would certainly go back for another visit. This place is not just about the food; it’s also family-friendly with a great selection of beers on tap. The inside of the restaurant truly captures the essence of Ireland, with Irish flags adorning the space and a general sense of the Irish spirit. The decor, with its warm woodwork, cozy booths, and linen-draped tables, impressed us right away. The expansive bar area was welcoming, reminiscent of a classic Irish pub where everyone feels like family. We were tempted by the array of menu options and settled on favorites like the Reuben on Rye, the Buttermilk Chicken sandwich, and the Fried Calamari - all of which were outstanding. The corned beef was tender, the chicken sandwich had just the right kick, and the calamari was cooked to perfection. We also got to experience the upbeat environment with DJ music over the weekend. It’s the perfect spot to catch up with old friends or make new acquaintances. During our Thursday night visit, our hostess Kris was exceptional. She not only recommended great drinks and appetizers but also ensured we were well taken care of throughout our stay. It's clear that Rory Dolan's has a great team, and their service really makes a difference. All in all, Rory Dolan's is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a slice of Ireland in Yonkers, complete with delicious food, a delightful array of drinks, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Whether you're looking to enjoy a good meal or just have a great time with friends, this is the place to be.

Hands down, Pondfield Cafe is a five-star brunch spot in Yonkers. The charming ambiance of an old-time diner immediately wins you over, with both cozy breakfast bar seating and individual tables for larger groups. The All-American fare on offer is delicious in its simplicity. Everything tastes freshly cooked because it is – it's like getting a home-cooked meal right outside your own kitchen. The staff here are incredibly welcoming and kind. Even though it seems like they prepare dishes on the spot, the wait isn't long at all. The frequent coffee top-offs as you wait just add to the enjoyable experience. Despite the cafe's intimate size, service is exceptional. My wife and I always enjoy our time here; the food never disappoints. On our recent visit, we were a party of five and only had to wait about 15 minutes. We were seated separately at first but were quickly accommodated with a bigger table. The staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. Our waitress was particularly nice, adding to an already great experience. The food arrived quickly and it was as tasty as always. Pondfield Cafe is truly an amazing place. It's become our go-to spot, especially when visiting our daughter in college. You can bet we'll be back for many more brunches to come.

I stumbled upon Katie's Cottage in Yonkers for brunch and what a delightful experience it was. Offering a slice of Irish comfort with a menu that stretches across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, not forgetting their bar service, this place truly caters to any craving. As a vegetarian, the Pasta Primavera was a highlight – a generous helping served alongside warm, moist bread and a scone, all for a reasonable $28 including coffee and tip. The staff were nothing but courteous, and the ample parking meant there were no worries about finding a spot, even when bringing a group. Brunch turned out to be a jolly good time! The fish and chips were cooked to perfection, and the fries? Let's just say "Fresh" fries would be an understatement. My friends raved about their burger, and I can't help but suggest trying the wings for an appetizer. And let's not forget the scrumptious scones and bread that graced our table. Now, there was a minor hiccup with service on one occasion – a bit of a tip issue with my uncle – but that won't deter me from coming back. I’ve heard whispers of an Irish breakfast that could easily claim the title of ‘best in town’, and it’s on my list to try next. Overall, the place is welcoming, the food consistently hits the mark, and the staff are top-notch. I’d say if you’re in the mood for a hearty meal with an Irish twist, Katie's Cottage is definitely worth the recommendation.

My Sunday routine now includes a brunch visit to Yonkers Diner, where the food never disappoints and the service is always top-notch. This local family restaurant really hits the spot with its authentic Mexican cuisine, which I highly recommend. To avoid the crowds and the wait, I suggest visiting on a weekday. My experience was great overall. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted with a cozy atmosphere and comfortable seating. The waiters are full of positive energy and ensure your needs are met throughout your meal. The cleanliness of both the restaurant and the bathroom also adds to the pleasant experience. The food alone is worth the four-star rating. I definitely recommend this spot, as the overall experience is remarkable. The food was enjoyable. However, the restroom could be better maintained, and although the service was friendly, sometimes the waiter's humor was a bit much for my liking. It's all about finding the right balance between friendliness and professionalism. Despite this, I am considering returning to Yonkers Diner for another meal.

My experience at Heritage Bar & Restaurant for brunch in Yonkers was a delight. The atmosphere had a warm and inviting charm that made it perfect for my special occasion. We actually celebrated our wedding reception there, right after our church ceremony in Eileen’s. The room looked stunning, and Eileen made sure everything was handled impeccably, allowing me to enjoy my day carefree. The food, I must emphasize, was nothing short of fantastic. The spread won everyone's praise and the whole experience was further elevated by the attentive bartenders and servers who made sure we were well taken care of. The level of efficiency they showed was impressive, and their friendly demeanor added a lovely personal touch to our gathering. Brunch did not disappoint either. The McLean ave breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, French fries, and toast was excellent. It's easy to find places that can mess up even the simplest breakfast, but not here. Plus, they served my apple juice in a large cup with ice – a small detail that made a big difference. The portion sizes were just right, and the mimosas had a perfect balance, not overwhelmed by orange juice. The bar next door caught my eye as a cool spot to check out next time, and the outdoor seating seemed quite cozy too. Although parking might be challenging on busy nights, my Sunday morning visit was hassle-free. All in all, Heritage Bar & Restaurant is a place I’d recommend in a heartbeat and I’m eager to come back for dinner. It’s a standout choice for anyone looking for quality food and service, whether it's a casual brunch or a significant event.

Seven Brothers Diner

I had high hopes for Seven Brothers Diner in Yonkers, having seen many positive reviews. The service and atmosphere were what you'd expect from a classic diner. My friends and I ordered a variety of dishes. Sadly, the tuna melt and grilled chicken sandwich were letdowns with issues like un-melted cheese and dry chicken. On a brighter note, the French fries hit the mark with their perfect crunch, and the dill pickles served were genuine and crunchy – a nice departure from the usual fare. Despite the hiccups with some dishes, the overall experience was good. The portion sizes were large, offering great value for the money, which was a pleasant surprise. The only minor hiccup was a mix-up with the portion sizes offered, something I only realized when the bill arrived. Still, it's a spot I'd recommend. The quality of food and service were commendable. On this visit, the Greek platter was exceptional value at just $16, and the apple crumb dessert, large enough to be a meal in itself, was delicious. Seven Brothers Diner is a friendly establishment that I'd definitely visit again, especially after a trip to nearby big box stores.

I recently had an incredible brunch experience at Scorpio in Yonkers. The authentic Mexican food here is top-notch and very reasonably priced. If you're a fan of spice, you'll appreciate the kick in some of their dishes. The vibe is so welcoming – it's like being at your Abuela or Tia's place, complete with a shrine to the Virgin Maria and Spanish TV adding to the ambiance. They serve up hearty portions and the bottomless coffee is a plus. The service is fantastic, too. My wife and I frequent this spot when we're in the mood for a treat and we're always satisfied, even if we have to wait for a table now and then. It's cash only, but that's easily managed with an ATM nearby and a bank just across the street. On our latest visit, the two of us had a hearty breakfast with coffee for just $30 before tip. Parking is a breeze with meters and a municipal lot across the way, or you can hop on the bee line bus. It's a bustling little gem that serves both breakfast and lunch all day, so it's perfect for any craving. Our server, Diana, was wonderful, suggesting various authentic dishes that didn't disappoint. Everything from the corn muffin and coffee to the enchiladas Verdes and chilaquiles was delectable. It's definitely become a favorite spot of mine for its warm staff and fantastic food. Just a heads-up, though—the bathrooms could use some attention as you currently need to move from one to another to wash your hands due to a single working toilet. That's a small issue compared to the overall experience. Highly recommend checking out Scorpio for some amazing Mexican dishes!

Brunch at the Yonkers Ridge Hill Yard House was a delight; the atmosphere was just perfect for enjoying football games with plenty of TVs to catch all the live action. What really stood out were the vegan dishes that were not just good but also quite varied, making it easy for someone like me who's conscious about plant-based options to enjoy a great meal. The bookie dessert was the cherry on top of a delightful brunch experience. Alexandra, my waitress, was a gem. Her warmth and stellar drink recommendations, including the Ace Pineapple cider, which is now my absolute favorite, added so much to the meal. The Yard House truly knows how to cater to a crowd, especially at night. Even when it's busy, and you might have to wait a bit for a table, it's worth it. The truffle fries are a must-try! The servers here are consistently attentive, checking in often to ensure everything is to your satisfaction. That's one of the main reasons my family and I keep coming back. I'm particularly impressed with how the Yard House accommodates dietary preferences; their onion ring tower is a drool-worthy treat, and they're more than willing to substitute meats for vegetarian options without a fuss. Happy hour is another time I love to drop by because the deals are fantastic – getting to try different appetizers at half off is such a steal. And frankly, the dinner experiences here have never disappointed. The staff, like Neliz, work tirelessly to ensure guests have an enjoyable time, and the food, from the chicken nachos to the tomato soup, is reliably delicious. While it's an excellent spot for groups and the menu changes keep things interesting, it's the consistency in the quality and service that really seals the deal for repeat visits. Sure, the servers seem stretched at times when managing large parties, but their dedication and effort are evident, which speaks volumes about their commitment to providing a great experience. All in all, Yard House is a solid choice for brunch or any meal, really.

If you're in the mood for a hearty brunch, Francey Brady's in Yonkers has got you covered with their generous portions. During brunch hours, they offer $4 mimosas, which is just the kind of deal that gets my day started right. Their brunch menu boasts a good selection, ensuring there's something for everyone. Organizing a brunch for a large group can be a headache, but my experience making a reservation for 20 at Francey Brady's was smooth sailing—no deposit required, and the upstairs room provided a cozy spot for all of us to enjoy our meal. The prices here don't break the bank, and it's matched with an accommodating staff that makes the dining experience all the more pleasant. On my second visit, the popcorn shrimp really caught my attention—it might just be the best I've ever had. Other standouts included the BBQ pork quesadilla and the impeccably textured fish in the fish and chips. The brunch burger and the deep south both came in substantial servings and were packed with flavor. It's a place I'd recommend to anyone looking for tasty food in the area. A heads-up about parking: it's on-street and metered, so come prepared for that. Each visit confirms that the quality of the food is consistently good here, the staff is on the ball, and you won't be waiting an age for your food to arrive. It's an especially great place to hit up during brunch time. Although I found the food to be a bit bland on one occasion—the burger could have used a bit more zest—the happy hour specials have a decent variety and are worth a try, even if they're a tad watered down. But for the prices, it's a trade-off I'm willing to make. Overall, Francey Brady's is a solid choice for a casual, satisfying meal.

I've visited Grassy Sprain Diner a few times for brunch with my family and it's always a hit. The food is consistently amazing, and the service is top-notch. We've had nothing but great experiences here, and I'm confident it'll stay that way. My son adores the Oreo blast milkshake, and my wife couldn't get enough of the avocado toast, though she was too full for seconds. The steak sandwich is a juicy delight. This place is definitely worth the drive from The Bronx for us. It's a fantastic local spot that I highly recommend to any family looking for a satisfying meal. Despite its popularity, there's usually plenty of seating thanks to its size. Being part of a strip mall, parking is convenient. The ambiance adds to the overall positive experience, though there was a small hiccup with service forgetting a couple of items from our order. They handled it with such courtesy, though, it was hardly an issue. The food here is top-quality, and you get generous portions for what you pay. The diner itself is clean, and the service is friendly and quick. I'm eager to come back. If you're in search of a quick and tasty meal, this is your spot. The kids menu is a plus, and the prices are fair. It's as good as diners get!

The setting is ideal for a cozy breakfast or brunch, offering a convenient takeout option as well as limited but welcoming table service. The hospitality here is heartwarming, and I must give a special shout-out to our server, Rosa, for her thoughtful attention. She went above and beyond, ensuring we didn't run into any parking issues after our meal, which speaks volumes about the kind of service you can expect. The menu offers the classics done right, as evidenced by the delectable Sausage Egg n Cheese, and their coffee is the perfect complement to any dish. Even with a full house, the service didn't skip a beat. Drink refills were constant and without the need for reminders – a small touch that didn't go unnoticed. As someone who loves exploring local dining spots, my visit to Central Plaza Diner for brunch in Yonkers was a delightful experience. The small, cozy atmosphere of the diner instantly made me feel welcome, and its cleanliness was a plus. Heading in on a Sunday afternoon, I was thrilled to find an empty booth just waiting for me. Starting with the food, the burger I ordered was juicy, and the onion rings accompanying it were the perfect amount of crispy. I also tried the grilled chicken, which was packed with great flavor—a good sign for my next visit, as I'm eager to sample their breakfast offerings. At lunch, I was impressed by the hot, fresh, and tasty dishes. The lemon sole I had was genuinely authentic, a notable detail since some places substitute it with tilapia. What really stood out to me was the friendliness of the staff. Our waiter, Ziggy, was not only attentive but also a good sport, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I was initially skeptical about the diner because let's face it, not all diner food hits the mark. However, this visit was full of pleasant surprises. The beef barley soup I opted for was another highlight—truly delicious. I appreciate the old-school vibe of the diner, which was exceptionally clean and had an inviting charm. It's worth mentioning that while the burger was tasty, I noticed the bread-to-meat ratio was a bit off with a tad more bread than I prefer. Nonetheless, the service made up for it, being nothing short of exceptional. Everyone there exuded warmth and friendliness, which just added to the positive experience. Furthermore, the prices were very reasonable, reinforcing the diner as a great neighborhood spot. It was evident that the staff knew their regulars well, and the place seemed quite popular for takeout too. The home fries, cole slaw, and breakfast wrap I noticed on other tables all looked yummy, making me all the more excited to return. If I find myself in the area again, I wouldn't think twice about coming back to Central Plaza Diner. It's genuinely a spot that's worth visiting repeatedly for a great meal and friendly atmosphere.
